Hotel Marina

The only good thing about this hotel is exceptional friendliness of staff members. Anyone I spoke to was very polite and nice. However, the hotel itself is the worst I ever stayed. The shower head was broken and I had to purchase new one in the market and replace it myself, as it wasn’t acciones by hotel staff. Room had a heavy air and smelled bad and is in desperate need of repairs. Hotel advertised the bar that doesn’t exist and tv has no English Channels. It is not hotels fault but area is infected with junkies that are injecting drugs and sleeping on the pavements next to the hotel and we had to walk around 15 min through the biggest slums in Athens in order to reach something that looks like 1st world country. While I recognize that things like repairs potentially can be pricey and lengthy to achieve, I was mostly angry by the fact that in the breakfast buffet baked beans were served cold. I assume Greek people don’t eat baked beans and have no idea that it is a hot dish, not cold. Furthermore, the pictures do not represent the room as they are clearly photoshopped or taken a long time ago as the room I got was no where close to what I saw in pictures when booking. In conclusion- do not book that hotel, nor any other hotel within 1 mile radius unless you like heroin addicts on your doorstep.

Convenient but scary location (homeless, drugs). Hotel was clean but staff did not seem to care about problems with the refrigerator or elevator door being left open and did not work.

3 étoiles y’a 20 ans sûrement… J ai même payer plus cher pour avoir une meilleure chambre mais quel déception… Il est bien situé, faudrait juste que le propriétaire dépense un peu d argent… (nouveau couvre lit, mur d’une couleur moderne et mobilier de mes grand parents a changer absolument si ils veulent augmenter leur chiffre d’affaire 😅 salle d eau à refaire absolument…. Joint moisi, carrelage cassé… Petit dej, heu basic de chez basic

Great location nice hotel it was adequate but all rooms are close to the elevator since it's a very skinny 7 floor building. If you're a light sleeper it's not the place to be like me. You can hear elevator noise starting at 6:00 a.m. and people chatting in a hall.

I would not recommend this Hotel. The general condition is disgusting. Breakfast was horrible. Cold beans, eggs burnt and zero personal touch. My lamp shades were broken, loose wiring and couldn’t get the safe to work. Carpet’s gross and the kettle was unhygienic. Bottom line, no go!

Convenient for walking places. If you require an elevator prepare to wait as there is one 2 person elevator.

This hotel is very basic, style of the 80th, located in the worst street of Athens (according several taxi drivers, dangerous at night, full of homeless and junkies but only 10min food walk to Monasteraki). Its somehow clean, has wireless internet and a tiny lift. The breakfast is just a pain for stomach and eyes (old and very cheepy)

This hotel is a cheap stay because of the area. This is an area of town the Athens doesn't take care of. It doesn't feel good to walk through it but we didn't have anyone approach us or have any problems. Appreciate the security guard out front. It's a 15 min walk to main metro. Breakfast had a lot of choices. We stayed here because we were able to get 3 beds in 1 room. The inside of hotel and rooms is clean.

The day before to check out. They don't cleaning the room. No clean the floor and they didn't do the bed, just move the linen up. It was disapppointed. The rest was good, the service at reception, the breakfast gpod. Good experoence with a little black point.

Voor deze prijs kun je niet al teveel verwachten. Het was schoon, bed vond ik persoonlijk wat hard. Muren zijn dun maar zolang je buren geen herrie maken heb je ook weinig last van verkeer als je aan de achterkant zit. Medewerkers zijn aardig, ontbijt was middelmatig maar ok.

Las fotos no se corresponden con lo que os vais a encontrar. Las habitaciones son antiguas, el baño minúsculo, las cortinas de la ducha deben ser las mismas desde hace años, la limpieza no es adecuada y huele mal. El hotel está en el barrio más inseguro de Atenas, lleno de drogadictos consumiendo en la misma calle. Hasta los taxistas estaban sorprendidos de que estuviéramos en ese barrio. Buscad otra opción.

Complete waste.... Filthy room, Everything in Dilapidated condition. Bathroom seemed to ne from the 80s..Stained bedsheets, no kettle, very noisy surroundings.. Filthy carpets. Only good area is the reception.. Staff is very nice and thats perhaps the only saving grace... Breakfast is good too.. If you are looking for a clean hotel in a good neighbourhood this is not the one.

Though Hotel is close to Omonio metro station, the street where hotel is located was too dirty with lot of people around having drugs. There were syringes on the entire stretch and people sitting on the street having having drugs. We were finding it bit difficult to moved around at night as it poses risk. As far as hotel staff is concerned, one staff denied giving us packed breakfast on the day of checkout. We informed him previous day evening but he says we should have informed them previous day morning. Nowhere we have seen such a demand. Previous evening was good enough to pack breakfast next day. About cleanliness, the housekeeping team was not cleaning the carpet everyday and the towels were not changed. One day even the bed was not made. Bathroom was dirty too and no place to hang our clothes. It looked very old property

Hotel fraco, quarto com uma abertura para um fundo de construção, banheiro apertado, forração do piso em péssimas condições. Café da manhã básico. Internet boa.

The hotel staff are excellent, extremely friendly and helpful. Large room, no view. cleaned daily. Easy walk to the Acropolis, Plaka and surrounding historical sites. Unfortunately, the area may be disconcerting for some guests as serious homelessness and drug issues are prevalent. At no time did I feel unsafe..locals kept to themselves.

Very disappointed, very unsafe street at night with homeless sleeping across the street. The hotel pictures are not what reality is, they were professionally taken, but reality is, furnishings in the room are 20 years old, there is visible pealing paint in the halways, electric sockets, lights, lamps are old and outdated, shower/tub with a plastic curtain. The included breakfast had two day old bread and black bananas.This is not a 3 star hotel at this writing, I paid twice as much as I should have for what I received. Stay away from this hotel unless a 1 star rating is ok with you.

Bed was too hard, room was dismal, but breakfast was spectacular.

Quartier assez triste Chambre propre mais vue sur un mur et j avais réservé un lit double et j ai eu des lits jumeaux

Good one to stay …staff was very friendly ….they assisted with us with cab in the early morning 2 for just 11 EUROS to the local bus station ….

Nice clean hotel with friendly and helpful stuff

I give a five star rating because of the service. The area the hotel was in wasn’t the best. But the hotel service and hospitality was great! The shower in my room didn’t work so the staff gave me an upgraded room. Excellent customer service and very nice staff!

The hotel itself was okay but the area it is in is super scary and not safe

The Marina-Athens Hotel provided good and affordable accommodation for our 14-night stay in Athens. The management and staff were friendly and helpful, especially if you are able to speak some Greek. The hotel is located in the heart of the metro area in Omonoia, and is within easy walking distance to Syntagma Square, the Plaka, Monastiraki, and the archaeological sites. The neighbourhood around the hotel is a bit rough, but we were able to navigate through it without any problems.

O Hotel Marina tem uma ótima localização central. As imediações não são muito convidativas, muitos imigrantes e a zona é meio suja, mas quando você sai ninguém se atreve a te incomodar. Por isso sempre me senti segura ali nas vezes que me hospedei, nunca tive problemas e em poucos minutos você está numa das principais praças de Atenas, a Omonia. Para mim a grande qualidade do hotel é o seu atendimento nota 10. Todos são muito gentis e prestativos. Outro trunfo é o café da manhã com buffet incluído na diária. É um hotel simples que precisa de uma grande reforma, mas é muito simpático.

Hotel and property were nice and clean. However, the surrounding area was dirty and unsafe. Lots of trash in streets and drug usage.

The street has many Drug-Consumers and Immigrants. If you're alone you have to be careful. Womens should not alone rent a room there!

Zuerst für mich das Wichtigste: Das Hotel befindet sich LEIDER in einem sehr schlechten Stadtviertel. Wir fühlten uns sehr unsicher und jeden Morgen lagen sehr viele Spritzen auf den Gehwegen. Das Hotel ist rundum solide für ein verlängertes Wochenende und auch verkehrsmäßig sehr gut angebunden. Das Frühstück war gut, auch wenn das Gebäck an zwei Tagen schon etwas trocken und altbacken war. Das Personal war steht’s freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Staff was great. Nice breakfast with eggs, fruit, and lots more. Area around was not so nice but after a few blocks gets better.

The hotel was great value and the breakfast was very comprehensive but the hot items could have been hotter. Would stay there again if we ever go back to Athens.
