Poor experience. Has gone downhill. Lobby was dead and bar was closed both nights I was there. Gym was smelly and tired. A resort fee of $35 a day was a joke - there were no amenities

Very contemporary and fun hotel, beautiful lobby with lots to see and take in. Hotel room was very nice, excellent bedding and comfy bed, nice linens and an Illy coffee maker. Only negative - a $39 “resort fee” that I missed in the fine print when booking. Pays for $10 of mini bar offerings - but there’s no mini bar lol - WiFi, time at pool table, etc. Aside from that, I’d recommend this hotel.

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, the staff was amazing and super helpful. The rooms were nice and featured fun amenities. The only drawback was the daily $35 "resort fee" That was a bit steep. We were told that was for the coffee and internet. (this is where I would insert an eyeroll emoji). Regardless, it was a great place. Make sure you go to the speakeasy there. fun!

Good size room and nice showroom products. There was no coffee machine in the room so I asked reception and they provided one, however, the cups were not cleaned the next day nor the pods replaced. By the bar, they have pool table and games, which is a nice touch. They do not really provide breakfast in the hotel, but they do have free coffee and you can buy some pastries at the bar in the morning. It is conveniently located near the Powell Barts station.

I went to this property to attend a concernt and take my son to the city as he has never been. The hotel had so many cool things such as their amazing gym, it had a peloton, beautiful gym equipment and weights. The gaming area was super cool too, including a giant plinko we played, pool, ping pong, and other games. Their ice machine was freaking rad. It had an option that allowed it to do both water and ice at the same time, which was a cool feature. It was nice to have that to fill up your water bottle as you went in and out of the city. Would stay there again. Also, you cannot enter the hotel without your hotel key, so this made safety a priority, as there can be homeless people wandering.

Despite an almost perfect location (you can get anywhere on public transport from here), the hotel was disappointing. Generally the hotel is not effectively staffed. First, it advertises "valet parking," but in fact there is no staff for this and no place to pull to the curb. You have to leap out in traffic, flag down the registration staff, and wait for them to send for the staff of the garage. How to know this is the case was a puzzlement, and god help you if you are traveling alone and must just abandon your car to flag down the staff . Second, although there is restaurant on the hotel\'s website, on the night I arrived (kean not to leave again), the restaurant was closed for a private party. The lobby bar was sometimes open sometimes not. The rooms were clean but only a step above airbnb-level design - lots of blown-up photographs of books and record albums on the walls but otherwise you might be sleeping in an IKEA.

Parking situation isn’t great. I was confused when I first arrived as to where to park you just to check-in. There is no attendant. Ultimately, the only option is valet parking overnight, which is extremely overpriced. Recommend searching parking garages in the area for self parking

Hotel was great, modern, clean, and in a great location. My only issue was you had to double park in front of the hotel for valet and there was no sign or anything indicating that’s was the process.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor like sweaty armpits that hit me the moment I walked in. I asked the staff to come clean and spray, and while they tried, the smell never went away. To make matters worse, I saw a small mouse in the lobby, which made me seriously question the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. Definitely not what I expected or paid for. I won’t be staying here again.

What we liked: Location was very central - could walk to many attractions, close to train station. Fitness facility was excellent - very clean, new equipment, well-equipped. Floor plan layout helped to minimize noise - very quiet in the room. Excellent black-out curtains. Bathroom was large and renovated. Housekeeping was thorough and towels were thick and fluffy. LOVED the other amenities: free rental of e-scooters and bikes, large and well-equipped games room (pool table, table tennis, shuffleboard, pinball). Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Elevators always came quickly. The hotel felt very secure, strangers entering the lobby were monitored. Close to a couple of good breakfast restaurants. What we didn't like: We liked everything. The room was a bit tired-looking (worn/stained carpet, worn furniture, old light switches), but they have chosen to focus their spending on the right things to ensure a comfortable customer experience. We would absolutely stay here again, and would highly recommend it to others who are visiting SF.

The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade and deep clean. The price paid does not reflect the actual rooms. The 1st room smelt of smoke and the 2nd room I was moved to - the lino floor was dirty and sticky. I had to ask the cleaners to wash it. Which never happened as I never saw a mop with their trolleys. The daytime front of house staff tried their best but it is not worth the 4 stars. Disappointing stay.

Unfortunately, one of our rooms were not ready until over an hour after check-in. The room that was ready had a stale smell of body odor and no way to keep the window open for fresh air. Our beds were comfortable, but I would not stay here again. It seems that they were understaffed and we had to go to the front desk for multiple items.

Advertisement is miss-leading. No view. Room comfort chair had questionable stains, (kind of gross) Daily amenities fees somewhat annoying, and should be available without a fee. Staff was friendly, especially Rico!!!!! Convenient location.

The neighborhood has a huge amount of homeless people actively doing drugs on the street. I have traveled a lot all over the world and this is probably the worst I have ever seen. I'm fine with a few people here and there but when you are walking down the sidewalk and having to pass through large groups of 15-20 people, it feels kind of sketchy. Market St is definitely not what it once was and a huge amount of retail stores are closed. Bottom line, stay aware of your surroundings and plan to take Uber at night rather than walking. The room was just okay. Our room looked out to a blank wall and was not overly bright. There were no chairs in the room except for one at the desk but THERE was an exercize bike which made a great place to hang your clothes. There is also no coffee or tea in the room and the coffee service in the lobby is not available all day. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The separately owned restaurant off the lobby was closed on Sunday and the bar in the lobby was closed on Sunday also which seemed like bad planning to me. There are pool tables in the lobby and upstairs in the game room. There was also a shuffleboard and two pinball machines available to play at no cost which was nice. They pinball machines do need some maintenance and there was no chalk for the poll cue sticks. Overall, I'd say the hotel worked okay for our trip but I can't say I was wowed!

Beautiful hotel with large rooms. Staff was very nice and amenities were great. They kept the free coffee hidden and poorly labeled though. Not sure if I was drinking decaf or regular coffee.

this hotel was a hidden gem. pool table in the lobby and a little cafe area. you go the second floor and there’s a PHOTOBOOTH you do have to pay but it’s so worth it. and they have an arcade as well. it’s lovey. the only thing i didn’t like was it felt like our room ac would stop working.
this hotel was a hidden gem. pool table in the lobby and a little cafe area. you go the second floor and there’s a PHOTOBOOTH you do have to pay but it’s so worth it. and they have an arcade as well. it’s lovey. the only thing i didn’t like was it felt like our room ac would stop working.

The light fixtures are broken and hang at odd angles, the coffee maker is broken, the window looks out directly into a wall, and the room layout is just bizarre. My room featured a TV jammed up next to the foot of the bed and a locked door next to the head of the bed. The bed itself is fine, at least. But overall there are far nicer hotels for the same cost.

Nice staff and central location. Only draw back was that room was uncomfortably warm despite air conditioner being set at 65. Hallways and work out room were cooler than assigned room.

Paid extra for early arrival and couldn't check in when we got there. Rooms were not ready. Then you charged me anyway. The charge was reversed. All staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful.

Good security in the challenging downtown location, housekeeping staff pleasant and responsive, comfortable spacious rooms, interesting decor, lobby pool table, second floor game room. Exceeded my expectations! The biggest takeaway was the superb customer service - Diane (the mgr) was especially helpful - accommodated early check in, late check out, and an InstaCart delivery - would absolutely repeat.

Our stay at Hotel Zetta was a difficult one. We were greeted by several vagrants being ushered away from the front door to the hotel, which was guarded by security and locked. Our check in was straightforward. The room itself was fine, with a strange layout - unfortunately the room looked into an alleyway which also had several homeless people visibily using drugs. We did like the bed and the cable channels were good, but we could not understand why we had been charged a nightly holding fee for an empty minibar and closed on site restaurant facilities. Why charge us if there is nothing to spend the nightly holding fee on? What really agitated us was a pair of earrings were left behind at the hotel, and no one from the hotel has had the courtesy to call us to update us as to the return of the items. We notified the hotel shortly after checking out, meaning only hotel staff have been in the room. 5 calls and 3 emails later, Zetta staff continue to ignore us. Hotel staff have clearly taken the jewellery and are refusing to contact us as a result. At least the taking of the items is on brand for the surrounding area! I would not return to the hotel and reiterate my disappointment at the poor service experience. For a hotel relying on service to overcome its challenging surroundings, you would expect better.

I checked in late and staff didn't want to open the locked door, despite having a backpack and suitcase! Definitely a bad first impression. I get it, as this part of SF is sketchy, but it was less than friendly. Otherwise place was fine.

Unfortunately, one of our rooms were not ready until over an hour after check-in. The room that was ready had a stale smell of body odor and no way to keep the window open for fresh air. Our beds were comfortable, but I would not stay here again. It seems that they were understaffed and we had to go to the front desk for multiple items.

I tried to cancel m booking for the one night repeatedly. They refused to cancel it saying it was hotels.com policy so I reached out to hotels.com and they tried to make an exception but the hotel wouldn’t do it. Customer service is incredibly important especially with the amount of competition they had.

While the hotel was cute and boutique style, and the room was great - very clean, and very comfortable bed... The service was awful. Clearly just a job to pay the bills for them, as they should not be in hospitality. The woman who checked us in wasn't rude but not friendly or welcoming. The bar was also closed for a private event, which we found out later, but she didn't inform us at check in. But also nobody seemed to know about said event, but we're very rude in telling us the bar was closed. No one even acknowledged us when we checked out. For the price and location, it wasn't bad. I'd recommend if you don't care about service. I do love a hardwood floor hotel so I'd consider staying again.

The neighborhood has a huge amount of homeless people actively doing drugs on the street. I have traveled a lot all over the world and this is probably the worst I have ever seen. I'm fine with a few people here and there but when you are walking down the sidewalk and having to pass through large groups of 15-20 people, it feels kind of sketchy. Market St is definitely not what it once was and a huge amount of retail stores are closed. Bottom line, stay aware of your surroundings and plan to take Uber at night rather than walking. The room was just okay. Our room looked out to a blank wall and was not overly bright. There were no chairs in the room except for one at the desk but THERE was an exercize bike which made a great place to hang your clothes. There is also no coffee or tea in the room and the coffee service in the lobby is not available all day. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The separately owned restaurant off the lobby was closed on Sunday and the bar in the lobby was closed on Sunday also which seemed like bad planning to me. There are pool tables in the lobby and upstairs in the game room. There was also a shuffleboard and two pinball machines available to play at no cost which was nice. They pinball machines do need some maintenance and there was no chalk for the poll cue sticks. Overall, I'd say the hotel worked okay for our trip but I can't say I was wowed!

Hotel Zetta was wonderful! It was close to shopping and the cable cars. It was an easy 30 minute walk to Oracle Park. The only downside was that it is close to the Tenderloin District where most of the homeless are located.

Only negative - a $39 “resort fee” that I missed in the fine print when booking. Pays for $10 of mini bar offerings - but there’s no mini bar lol - WiFi, time at pool table, etc. Aside from that, I’d recommend this hotel.

Good size room and nice showroom products. There was no coffee machine in the room so I asked reception and they provided one, however, the cups were not cleaned the next day nor the pods replaced. By the bar, they have pool table and games, which is a nice touch. They do not really provide breakfast in the hotel, but they do have free coffee and you can buy some pastries at the bar in the morning. It is conveniently located near the Powell Barts station.

Only once was there a muffin and a sole croissant. Milk or cream not available for coffee. Restaurant in the hotel did not let us get milk for the coffee. Hotel front desk clerk kind of laughed at the pastry or lack of in the mornings. Stayed for 4 days and only had a muffin and coffee one day. This was before 8:00 am.

Despite an almost perfect location (you can get anywhere on public transport from here), the hotel was disappointing. Generally the hotel is not effectively staffed. First, it advertises "valet parking," but in fact there is no staff for this and no place to pull to the curb. You have to leap out in traffic, flag down the registration staff, and wait for them to send for the staff of the garage. How to know this is the case was a puzzlement, and god help you if you are traveling alone and must just abandon your car to flag down the staff . Second, although there is restaurant on the hotel\'s website, on the night I arrived (kean not to leave again), the restaurant was closed for a private party. The lobby bar was sometimes open sometimes not. The rooms were clean but only a step above airbnb-level design - lots of blown-up photographs of books and record albums on the walls but otherwise you might be sleeping in an IKEA.

We loved Hotel Zetta. The whole design and decor was gorgeous with an eclectic flair. We were fortunate enough to meet one of the security guards named Jose who shared with us some of the history. He’s absolutely amazing! Such a cool guy. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The drinks at the lobby bar were fantastic. We ate at The Cavalier and it was so delicious. Such a great overnight trip and we’d love to return!

The area in the lobby with pool and other games was really cool. Everything in the room was very clean and comfortable and the VIP upgrade for Expedia gold members was so appreciated! My only wish would have been that the bar was open later since I was there for a conference, I could have brought my clients back for drinks.

We really enjoyed our stay, The Hotel is super clean. Our room was perfect for two couples. The bathroom was large, and shower was nice. The Hotel has a free game room which is really well kept. Perfect visit for the Giants game and walking distance to the stadium. We thank you so much for the hospitality!

I will be returning to this Hotel, because it’s a great location. This was my first visit and I was a bit unclear on where to park for the valet service. Diving in the city is not my favorite and I hade to drive around twice to figure it out. My only true negative was that the thermostat was pre-set and even though it was set to 66°, the room never went below 76 which is far too hot for me. It was a heat wave in the city that day and was 90° outside.

Séjour agréable mais bar pour le petit déjeuner chère et pas à la hauteur. Dommage par de machine à laver. Par contre bien situé prêt des transports… juste quelques sdf qui traîne le matin

Overall, our stay at Hotel Zetta last weekend was very nice, but there were a few noticeable downsides. The biggest issue was the pillowcases on our bed—they were noticeably dirty with what appeared to be dried makeup of some sort (I hope anyway). Given that the cases were pure white, it was disappointing that housecleaning missed this. However, once we spoke with a member of the cleaning staff, they promptly replaced them with fresh ones. Additionally, the add-on costs felt quite steep, with parking at $69 a night and amenities fees coming out to $87. On a positive note, the front desk staff was excellent throughout our stay—welcoming, polite, and very helpful.
