Admired the quality of furnishings in the lobby and the quality of the rich carpet. The lanterns in the hallways added an ambience to the lighting. The house keeping staff were warm and friendly. They work really hard and you can see that they keep the place well. Very hard working. The gentleman in the spa, pool, sauna, steam room facilities was so kind and helpful. Thank you.

Beautiful location and views of the sea. We had a great stay, all three of our rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar and there was a lot of choice for breakfast - including make yourself waffles :)

We checked in at 7:45 only to learn the swimming pool closed at 8. Then we made it to our room booked for three people to find everything set up for two. We tried to call down but the phone was broken. We were so tired and laid on the beds to then realize the wedding going on below was right under our room and the swinging door banged directly under our beds reverberating up. Oh yay. We went downstairs to see what could be done and they tried to keep it propped open but it never lasted long. Then the band started up. The evening staff were mortified and apologized but asked us to deal with the day manager. We did this in the morning but she was unperturbed and would only offer us free drinks before leaving - at 10am in the morning. In fairness, the breakfast was excellent.

Very stuffy in the room if the weather is warm. No air conditioning in rooms, windows only open a couple of centimeters. Bathrooms very old, space around toilet is cramped for anyone with mobility issues. Shower was very small and the shower head was was not high enough, had to shower basically crouched over. Hotel is right on the coast. Weather I was there the beach was very busy. Car park totally taken up with people clearly not staying at the hotel. Had to park on verge. Not up to a modern 4 star specification.

Staff were superb. The food was of a high quality. The room was without a view and airless - even with the window open and the doors were noisy and so sleep is disturbed. The setting is stunning. Children were allowed to run around and play in the lounge and bar area. Suggest an activity space for them so they are not allowed to disturb other guests.

My stay was quite enjoyable, I feel the hotel would need an update. Shower was not great doors getting stuck other than that it was good. The food was lovely plenty of it and it was good fun. Staff were very nice

The room didn't have a fridge nor a safe. The toilet seat was a danger as it kept moving in use. Apart from that it was a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and courteous.

Need new beds (mattresses were warn with broken springs) and shower enclosures need updated. Also the first floor windows have little to no security when open (no air conditioning) and can be opened completely if someone was seeking to enter your room.

The outside location was beautiful! But…We did not like our room at all though. Our outside window faced someone else’s window. It seemed very creepy. We did not have a view at all ! Our room seemed dark and outdated. We did not like our room at all!

Was supposed to check in at 16 hours nearly an hour late to give us room key would not hold onto our cases until check in time as we arrived early Going out next morning shower not working so was impossible for us to wash a basic in all accommodations no heating room was actually very cold at night kept having to go down to reception and asking them to put heating on as it must be controlled from there asked for a reduction of our stay was refused so that was two things that should have been no issues with would not recommend this 4star hotel in bundoran and Expedia you should keep these updates on your website

We traveled with our elderly mother & had requested a room on ground floor with easy access to reception or close to lifts. Our requests were made via Expedia app & email direct to hotel. This was not responded to & we were placed in a room very far from the reception, this made our special trip disappointing as our mother felt uncomfortable with the walk. We were given something to eat as a compensation but we really had to fight for this as we were all so upset our mothers wish to stay in the hotel we used to visit growing up had a taint to it. There is a lot of different in the welcome we got years gone by, the “Irish hospitality & welcome” is non existent. Food ok, cleanliness good, service bad.

Staff were superb. The food was of a high quality. The room was without a view and airless - even with the window open and the doors were noisy and so sleep is disturbed. The setting is stunning. Children were allowed to run around and play in the lounge and bar area. Suggest an activity space for them so they are not allowed to disturb other guests.

Beautiful location and views of the sea. We had a great stay, all three of our rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar and there was a lot of choice for breakfast - including make yourself waffles :)

Very stuffy in the room if the weather is warm. No air conditioning in rooms, windows only open a couple of centimeters. Bathrooms very old, space around toilet is cramped for anyone with mobility issues. Shower was very small and the shower head was was not high enough, had to shower basically crouched over. Hotel is right on the coast. Weather I was there the beach was very busy. Car park totally taken up with people clearly not staying at the hotel. Had to park on verge. Not up to a modern 4 star specification.

We checked in at 7:45 only to learn the swimming pool closed at 8. Then we made it to our room booked for three people to find everything set up for two. We tried to call down but the phone was broken. We were so tired and laid on the beds to then realize the wedding going on below was right under our room and the swinging door banged directly under our beds reverberating up. Oh yay. We went downstairs to see what could be done and they tried to keep it propped open but it never lasted long. Then the band started up. The evening staff were mortified and apologized but asked us to deal with the day manager. We did this in the morning but she was unperturbed and would only offer us free drinks before leaving - at 10am in the morning. In fairness, the breakfast was excellent.

My stay was quite enjoyable, I feel the hotel would need an update. Shower was not great doors getting stuck other than that it was good. The food was lovely plenty of it and it was good fun. Staff were very nice

Overall we found our stay at the Great Northern Hotel absolutely wonderful, if I could find one thing to mention, it would be that the breakfast could be warmer. Maybe a microwave or two might be arranged. But even this won't stop us returning. We enjoyed every moment at the hotel and the surroundings. The staff are perfect, they couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The room was kept wonderfully clean and well supplied. Any food we asked for was served promptly and was of an excellent standard. We would and will recommend the hotel to anyone who expresses an interest in visiting Bundoran. Thank you all for a great experience.

This place was an absolute disaster. One star is far too generous, but it’s the lowest I can give. From start to finish, everything about this stay was unacceptable and for the price, it’s an absolute scam. We arrived to an empty reception with no staff in sight, which already set the tone. The restaurant shuts at 8pm, which is laughable for a hotel pretending to be “international.” The room itself was in a shocking state run-down, stale smell, poorly maintained, and not even something as basic as a hairdryer provided. The night was the breaking point. It turned into a complete nightmare. There were people screaming and shouting in the hallway until 2am, to the point where the Garda had to come and intervene. No control, no security, no respect for guests. Getting any sleep was impossible. For a hotel, this is simply disgraceful. Breakfast was just as bad, if not worse. I arrived at 9am and there was already almost nothing left and absolutely nothing was being restocked. It felt neglected and chaotic, with more cleaning products lying around than actual food. To top it off, I asked for an espresso and was told I had to pay extra. At that point, it just felt insulting. I genuinely regret ever booking this place. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone considering it to stay away at all costs.
