Royal Hotel Sheerness

The hotel room was recently refurbished and clean, staff very friendly. However I think I was in the only refurbished room with active work taking place into the evening. I am sure the property will be lovely when completed ready for the summer tourists but I only managed to stay one of my two nights.

Initially checked into a used room and then asked to come down for breakfast at 8AM and no one was actually there until 8.30AM.After waiting for 30 mins for breakfast I had to leave as the microwave was constantly in use which made me worry I was going to be served food that was not fresh.Personally I got the value of what I paid for but it is not a well run place to be honest.

Room smelt of damp , bathroom taps loose , needs a good clean I know it was a cheap room but could have been clean , bed was comfortable though

This was my second stay at this hotel which is ok for a night but only if you don't hold high expectations. On arrival and checking in I had to ask for a towel as none had been left in my room, which I would expect to be standard. The bed was comfy. The worst thing I experienced was that on arriving back late at the hotel the whole place through the stairwell and up to the top floor stank of weed

The Hotel was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. There was only one problem was there was no lift and as my mum is 97 next month and claiming the stairs to our room was difficult. Everything else was great and staff were very helpful and friendly.
