Our stay started with an open door, food in the fridge and a trip to reception to make sure the room was not already occupied. We stayed in the room. The rooms seemed to be recently renovated, new AC systems, spacious, etc. so the accommodations were very nice. Biggest problem is the lighting is terrible and the room is very dark (paint, decorations, etc.), a bulb went out and one of the two light fixtures would not work. The fridge needed defrosting badly; we could not use the freezer. The next day they moved us to a suite and refunded a $40 activity fee (not sure what this additional fee was for; there were no activities, pool, etc.). The suite had lots of natural light, but again, not much light after dark. The glass shower door was off the track, but there was no handyman there that day. The bathroom sink is separate from the very tiny bathroom; there were no towel hooks or towel bars in the sink area. In the prior room there were two hooks in the sink area. Owners should live in these rooms for a night. We appreciated the upgrade; the fridge was in much better shape. The public rooms were very nice.

Hunter Lodge is a pleasant, no frills stay for a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and the mountain view is lovely. Breakfasts are simple and basic. Sadly, breakfast upkeep and clean up is disappointing.

The hotel has made upgrades to make the interior look like a lodge. However there was a horrible smell around the back of the property so you could not even sit and enjoy the fire pit or the scenery. My bed must have had a broken boxspring because it kept creaking and then I noticed it was giving in the middle and I was basically laying sunken into the middle of the bed which was horribly uncomfortable . I tried to contact the front desk and even call the number on the hotel site but there is basically no support for issues because there is no staff on site after 9 PM. I had no choice but to stay where I was. The room was also pretty humid and since my room faced the road, you could hear every passing car and the window coverings could use a lot of improvement. Definitely not an enjoyable stay and would not return.

Nice and clean with simple access to all amenities. Continental breakfast had a good variety. We will be coping again.

We were on the 100 level of Hunters Lodge. After one night the AC unit broke and the humidity in the room went up to 89%. The front desk was unattended and Expedia called the front desk upward of 5 times with no answer. The room was a sauna and most of clothes ended up damp with no real solution from the hotel other than moving us to a new room the next day at 1pm. For the price and conditions would suggest other options in the area
