If you are looking for a quiet stay in the Wisconsin north woods this is the place for you. Our room was clean and spacious. Nice indoor pool area and great views from the room. Very relaxing! Only complaint is it would be nice to see a little more attention to the garden area around the rooms patios.

Hot tub was out of order. Ice machine was out of order. Gold course was in terrible shape. Steak restaurant was not open on Friday or Saturday. Service was terrible at the sports bar. Room was nice but that is all that I can say was positive about our stay

The property and grounds were beautiful. The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. It was very quiet and we had a great night's sleep. There were many outdoor activities available for a fee. We enjoyed our weekend evening in the bar listening to live music and dining. The food there was delicious. However, based on my understanding of the signage, be aware that the bar is only open on the weekends.

We picked this hotel specifically because it said it had a lounge and full restaurant on site. Also a pool hot tube and sauna. When we arrived we were told that the lounge and restaurant were only open on Fridays and Saturdays. There was an additional charge for 25.00 on our bill but we were not able to use any of the amenities because they were not open. This was disappointing.

Beautiful historic property. It's unfortunate that they didn't offer some kind of breakfast since there's nothing else around here. The hot tub was down for maintenance but looking at the reviews, it's been out of service for months.

Beautiful property & hotel. Very old school & elegant! It's off season though & only 1 restaurant was open with a limited menu. Hot tub was not in operation-very sad about that. I'm sure in high season this place is fantastic!

Amazing hotel. Clean spacious rooms - larger than expected, actually. Small kitchenette in the room. An actual bedroom door. I am an early riser & I could leave the bedroom and not disturb my husband. Property was very well maintained, especially as it was their end of season.

The balcony was terrible. Floor was wet and sunken under the air conditioner. A coating of dead bugs on the railing and exterior wall. Disgusting. There was 45 minutes left for the breakfast. There was no eggs. I asked the front desk if they are making more. She said no Tony the bartender was great Melissa at the spa was wonderful

First, I have to state the hotel is on an island. How cool! The room was very spacious and clean. It didn't have that "old musty smell," which was a plus. I enjoyed my stay, but there were a few issues. The website didn't state some of the restaurants were closed. I wanted to spend more time at the resort, but no restaurants were open for breakfast. Only bar food was available from 11 am - 9 pm. My bathroom had a whirlpool tub/shower combination. Very strange. Being shorter, I had to carefully lift my leg without slipping. My 6'5" husband even had difficulty. I recommend the hotel install grab bars as the shower was very slippery. Lastly, I understand hotels are short of staff, but getting clean towels without asking would have been nice.

Spacious rooms and beautiful property. Check in was extremely slow. Bathroom in room was not good. The shower floor was cracked and stained. The underside of the shower safely bars was filthy and the shower head was white with calcified crud. The main steak house restaurant was not open??? We ate at the Boundary Waters Bar and Grill. The bar tender was incredibly slow. The food was horrible. We both had sandwiches. They were soggy and so were the fries. If you truly want to disconnect, this place is for you. Virtually no cellular service anywhere on the property. The internet service provided was inadequate. Unless it was very early or late one couldn’t log on and the hotel was only 42% occupied.

When we booked, we thought we were going to have a room with a stove, all we had was a microwave. I even requested pots, pans, dishes etc. Couldn't cook with the pots and pans when we only had a microwave.

The property is beautiful. The one problem I had was the guests in the next room were loud and taking until 1am. Maybe due to adjoining door between the rooms could use more insulation.

Everything about our staythere was great exceot for the horrendously stiff queen bed we slept on. It was like a slab of stone. Outside of that the property and hotel were absolutely stunning. I think perhaps next time we will try a King bed

Perfect property! Quiet, clean, such a friendly staff. Not enough guests I guess on Monday night. Cause all servers went home and couldn’t get dinner. But still can’t wait to come back. Wi-Fi in rooms however no cellular connection possible

Elegant decor, spacious clean rooms with kitchen area. Pool long enough to swim laps, big hot tub and sauna. The staff couldnt have been more helpful or friendly, fabulous. The island/ golf course was a winter wonderland with snowshoes or x-country skis for rent.

We were greatly disappointed by the dining options. All restaurants were closed by 9pm and there were no other dining options in the community within 15 miles. When we did attempt to dine in the Wonder Bar, there was only one person serving and no one acknowledged us so we left and drove 15 miles to other options. Also, the Hot Tub was closed for maintenance, with a well worn sign indicating (Making it seem like it had been closed for a while).

I drove 26 hours and was exhausted and i found this hotel on line. I was greeted by an amazing staff with a beautiful dog Rocky. She checked me in and although there wasnt anywhere to eat she gave me food from the kitchen. I got a late check out became it was midnight. The next day i got a call for check out and tge staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan to return. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pool looked great even though i didnt swim.

The whole property needs management on site. In the last three years that we have been going there...it is terribly understaffed and no one knows what's going on!!! Upscale restaurant closed which I guess is OK because last year we went there and the steaks were TERRIBLE!!!!! They need an overall MANAGER on site!!

Internet didn’t work so check-in was a mess and no one had service the entire trip. We didn’t have enough blankets and it took forever and 3 trips to the front desk to get them. Tried to get lunch at the bar and grill and was rudely told we couldn’t come in because there was no bartender. Tried to go to the bar later that night and there was a grease fire. A woman rudely yelled at us to leave even though we were, and she followed us back to our room. It was a disappointing stay at a place my family has loved staying at for over 50 years. And they won’t respond to my messages.
Internet didn’t work so check-in was a mess and no one had service the entire trip. We didn’t have enough blankets and it took forever and 3 trips to the front desk to get them. Tried to get lunch at the bar and grill and was rudely told we couldn’t come in because there was no bartender. Tried to go to the bar later that night and there was a grease fire. A woman rudely yelled at us to leave even though we were, and she followed us back to our room. It was a disappointing stay at a place my family has loved staying at for over 50 years. And they won’t respond to my messages.

If you are looking for a quiet stay in the Wisconsin north woods this is the place for you. Our room was clean and spacious. Nice indoor pool area and great views from the room. Very relaxing! Only complaint is it would be nice to see a little more attention to the garden area around the rooms patios.

It is a beautiful remotely located in northern wisconsin and the unprepared slot across the river. The staff was extremely helpful.The only drawback was communication.Your cell phone did not work because the lack of a tower near the resort. And if they had a pet friendly end that would've been exceptional I could have brought my leader lab. Is awesome memories were made!

First, I have to state the hotel is on an island. How cool! The room was very spacious and clean. It didn't have that "old musty smell," which was a plus. I enjoyed my stay, but there were a few issues. The website didn't state some of the restaurants were closed. I wanted to spend more time at the resort, but no restaurants were open for breakfast. Only bar food was available from 11 am - 9 pm. My bathroom had a whirlpool tub/shower combination. Very strange. Being shorter, I had to carefully lift my leg without slipping. My 6'5" husband even had difficulty. I recommend the hotel install grab bars as the shower was very slippery. Lastly, I understand hotels are short of staff, but getting clean towels without asking would have been nice.

Grounds are beautiful and clean but could use some updates. Amenities advertised are not all available. Only 1 restaurant on grounds and it was either too understaffed too open or out of things. Fine for a comfortable place to stay and I'm sure great for a roubd of golf but doesn't really justify the "resort" status or fee.

We were greatly disappointed by the dining options. All restaurants were closed by 9pm and there were no other dining options in the community within 15 miles. When we did attempt to dine in the Wonder Bar, there was only one person serving and no one acknowledged us so we left and drove 15 miles to other options. Also, the Hot Tub was closed for maintenance, with a well worn sign indicating (Making it seem like it had been closed for a while).

I stayed here two nights in July 2025 the "off" season i was told because nothing was open. No lounge, no ice cream parlor, no steakhouse, no retals. The sports bar didnt even have food the first night i stayed. This place is in BFE so bring food. For the cost they should have a onsite grocery store, but no. No gift shop, so dont foget anything. Oh and because RESORT is in the name of the place, expect fees up the wazoo. I dont recommend.

The property and grounds were beautiful. The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. It was very quiet and we had a great night's sleep. There were many outdoor activities available for a fee. We enjoyed our weekend evening in the bar listening to live music and dining. The food there was delicious. We picked this hotel specifically because it said it had a lounge and full restaurant on site. Also a pool hot tube and sauna. When we arrived we were told that the lounge and restaurant were only open on Fridays and Saturdays. There was an additional charge for 25.00 on our bill but we were not able to use any of the amenities because they were not open. This was disappointing.

Beautiful historic property. It's unfortunate that they didn't offer some kind of breakfast since there's nothing else around here. The hot tub was down for maintenance but looking at the reviews, it's been out of service for months.

Spacious rooms and beautiful property. Check in was extremely slow. Bathroom in room was not good. The shower floor was cracked and stained. The underside of the shower safely bars was filthy and the shower head was white with calcified crud. The main steak house restaurant was not open??? We ate at the Boundary Waters Bar and Grill. The bar tender was incredibly slow. The food was horrible. We both had sandwiches. They were soggy and so were the fries. If you truly want to disconnect, this place is for you. Virtually no cellular service anywhere on the property. The internet service provided was inadequate. Unless it was very early or late one couldn’t log on and the hotel was only 42% occupied.

Reserving was easy peasy. Finding resort was easy as well. Coming across the bridge was kind of magical and enchanting. Resort was exceptionally well kept outside. The elevator unfortunately didnt work. Plenty of parking for our truck and trailer. All in all we would stay here again. Everything was simple, but elegant.

This resort needs help. The room was clean and large. We played golf and it was fine.Greens are so-so -not kept up the best (lots of goose poop) Pool and sauna were nice. Balcony was filthy with dead bugs around the door and railing. Elevator BROKE. We were on the 3rd floor. UGH They did take off the RESORT FEE for this but I would have rather had an elevator. The nice restaurant and cocktail bar were CLOSED for the SEASON in early August. Ice cream parlour closed at 6pm. Pro shop -not open. So the only place to eat is the bar. Good selection of beer and drinks and food. One poor waitress for the busy place-could not keep up- not her fault. Out of pizza. The biggest turn off was drunk boaters at the bar at 6pm. Yelling, swearing, arguing.Huge turn off and we wish the staff would have told them to leave or shut up. We left to eat in Pembine witch is 15 minutes away and basically one place to eat there. In the last few years this place has gone down hill. Very scarce help-I do not know how to fix this. Don;t think we will be going again-sad because it could be great.

This is a hidden gem. Incredible resort. I am out traveling nearly every week and hotels are a part of my life. I never leave this kind of review. Absolutely impressed with this establishment. If I'm near here again, you can bet I'll be staying at The Four Seasons Island Resort again.
