We love to visit Natchitoches. This is a beautiful old home, walkable to the dining and shopping area. Very well done. Great breakfast. HOWEVER - be aware, this is a 3-story structure with no elevator.

My husband and I enjoy visiting & staying at historic properties for their uniqueness. Sweet Cane Inn did not disappoint. A grand home that has been maintained, filled with period furniture and decor. The rooms were spacious, comfy bed, over the top breakfast! In the main entry there was a complimentary bottle of chilled wine , also,a plate of chocolate chip cookies. The fridge in our room contained bottled water, and sodas. The only con is the main street is very busy, traffic noise.

The home is well preserved and beautiful. I appreciated the off street parking. The French toast (we call lost bread) took me back to my childhood! Super yummy!

Was very nice! Walking distance to historic downtown. The room and bathroom was big and spacious. Very clean. Thought the mini fridge in room with complimentary drinks was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good. Various rooms you can just sit and relax. The owners and staff working there do a great job! Would definitely stay again!

First, a few things to note - the stairs for the 2nd floor are a lovely grand staircase; the stairs for the 3rd floor are a bit narrow & steep; if stairs give you trouble, request a 2nd floor room. Also, the walls are a bit thin between rooms (we could hear the people next door talking, as if they were right in our room), so if noise is a concern bring earplugs or a source of white noise to mask it. Other than that, the place is wonderful! We were able to walk to downtown from there, parking is fantastic, lots of little great welcome items/amenities, absolutely beautiful property, and we would happily stay there again.

When we got to our room, I found a pill (under the bedside table) unsure what it was. The bed was “rock hard” not just firm. There is no coffee pot in the room, so we had to wait until 0830 am, when breakfast was served to get a cup of coffee!! I don’t know about anyone else, but my husband and I get up very early every morning. We are usually on our second cup of coffee by 0830 and the breakfast dishes are washed and put away shortly after breakfast. We love Natchitoches, but we will definitely stay somewhere else. Somewhere with comfortable beds and a coffee pot would be nice.

Old architecture which could be incredible with some updating by a professional interior designer. Chose to stay here after reading about special crepes that were served for breakfast and they did not serve them—total disappointment. Toilet did not flush properly and needed the attention of an expert plumber. Front porch was dirty and furniture on it was in desperate need of cleaning.

The inn was beautifully furnished and the Oleander room and bath were spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was scrumptious both mornings we were there.

This B&B is very beautiful and elegant. We loved the room. Or only complaint is the bed in the Amaryllis room. It was way to soft. We literally felt like we were in a pit. was hard to sleep. Pros: Property is convenient and well priced. A great place to stay if you need something simple. Cons: Bathrooms should be redesigned. Cheap shower inserts and odd layout. Master bathroom has a fancy clawfoot tub but no door separating it from the bedroom.

This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast. Our stay was a great experience and would recommend staying at Sweet Cane Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I were on a get away stay. Enjoyed the town and the people. Tiffany, the Innkeeper was outstanding! She made sure that we had all we needed, and cooks a wonderful breakfast. 5 stars to Tiffany!

The Sweet Cane Inn was lovely! The inn keeper, Cindy, was personable and the breakfasts she made were delicious. She made the best crepes, I’ve ever tasted too! The owner, John, was very responsive and helpful, as well. It’s walkable to the historic downtown but far enough away that it’s a quiet getaway. We stayed 2 nights and would stay here again.

Overnight on our road trip. Quaint period property. Very interesting architecture. Serviced 'remotely' - entry by pre-registration on line, door code in an envelop when you arrive. It all worked - but we missed the warmth of a real person to engage with, as international visitors.

The staff was delightful and very helpful. Shirley, Harmony and John were all great and very hospitable. We felt extremely welcomed. Breakfast and afternoon wine/cookies were very good. We had a nice stay and the room was comfortable. Property is nicely decorated and very convenient to downtown.

I tried to reach out several times to the owner via phone and email to the numbers provided and each time I received no response back. I did have a person that no longer worked at the property to message me back to say they no longer was employed there and they did provide me a number to the owner, which I called and never receive a call back. Check in was easy, room was large but had very limited seating areas the small bench couch was not comfortable to sit on, no coffee maker in the room, no blow dryer, the bed was uncomfortable due to sinking, curtain for the bathroom door, and the breakfast was good, but looked nothing like the advertisement mentioned.

First time staying in a true Bed and Breakfast. It was fantastic, wine in the evening and homemade breakfast in the morning. Conveniently located, just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. And Christmas lights and festivities.

Everything about Sweet Cane Inn was an excellent example of the very best of "southern hospitality". The accommodations were very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated for the season and excellently appointed. Our inn keeper, Kimberly, served a delicious breakfast each morning and was able to answer all of our questions about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

First time staying at a B&B and The Sweet Cane Inn was the perfect place to start. The owners were very welcoming and made everyone feel right at home. Ms. Tiffany made a delicious breakfast every morning for the inn, she was so gracious and friendly, ensuring every guest started their day with a smile. The only complaint would be the height of the bed in the Azalea room, those under 5’2 may need to get a running start to hop up. The room was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities for a lovely stay

Short but wonderful stay! The Lily room was charming, enjoyed the wine and cookies in the afternoon, and had a wonderful breakfast of crepes sausage, and scrambled eggs in the morning! Had dinner at the restaurant on the river owned by the Sweet Cane owners and the dinner was fabulous with nice outdoor seating by the river! Would stay here again!

Old architecture which could be incredible with some updating by a professional interior designer. Chose to stay here after reading about special crepes that were served for breakfast and they did not serve them—total disappointment. Toilet did not flush properly and needed the attention of an expert plumber. Front porch was dirty and furniture on it was in desperate need of cleaning.

My wife and I came to town to see the homes from "Steel Magnolias," and this was a wonderful place to stay the night before. The home is historic and beautiful. We loved the library and parlor areas. We also enjoyed the selection of board and card games available. The breakfast was delicious (my wife deemed the French toast "the best ever) and the staff member was sweet and friendly. It was also a wonderful surprise to have a fully stocked mini fridge for our use. My only criticism is that the bed mattress was entirely too firm and made it difficult to sleep. Also, while there are three floors, there are no elevators, and the stairway to the third floor is narrow and becomes cumbersome toward the top. Those points, though, are minor, and this property was a true value from check-in to check-out. We hope to return for another visit!

Just book it! Great breakfast. This bed and breakfast is just perfect in every way. Close to everything, the staff is fantastic, and the rooms were so comfortable and well appointed! We had a wonderful stay we had!
