Really nice home with cool public spaces, open bar and really outstanding hosts. The breakfast was fantastic. My only comment is that this feels like staying in a spare bedroom at someone’s home. Could be good or bad, depending on what you’re looking for!

The owners were awesome hosts. Beautiful home in nice area. The breakfast was a large home cooked meal which was perfect. Snacks and drinks were offered as well. Highly recommended versus staying at a hotel in this town.

Had a great time staying at the Tavares Inn in Alamogordo. It is the only Bed & Breakfast in town & is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The property itself is large with farm animals, and vegetation. The building is of Spanish Colonial style & is sprawling and beautiful. There is an indoor heated pool, an open bar with a donation box, and a pool table. It’s really a beautiful place. A huge breakfast is included & there are also snacks offered by the bar. Babs the owner/operator is Firecracker lol. I enjoyed chatting with her & highly recommend staying here.

We wanted something a little different than just a hotel room for our stay and The Traveres Inn was exactly that. It's a small B&B located off the beaten path with all the feels of home. Deb was a great host from the initial greeting to the home cooked breakfast, it was overall great experience experience.They have cats, dogs, goats , and chickens onsite along with an open bar for self service. What more can you ask for!!

A great place with a family feel, which is what you would expect from an expertly run B&B by an experienced couple. Very friendly, great breakfast, pool table, drinks available by donation. Fruit and coffee delivered by the hostess, Debs, to your bedroom door in the morning. Friendly and happy rescued dogs greet you at the door. Rescued cats available for petting by cat lovers. A funny talking parrot on the veranda, goats in the yard. Toboggans available for free if you want to sled in the White Sands National Park (spoiler: sand is not as fast as packed snow). A short drive from a touristy strip with restaurants. Overall, a great place to experience rural New Mexico and its genuine hospitality. Highly recommended!

They excel in providing a great breakfast, as well as morning coffee service with a wake-up knock on your door, and then snacks and a full self-service bar available 24/7. These things out-weighed the too soft, too old mattress and small bedroom. If that is important to you, you might need to try another place. We enjoy being in unique places, away from the standard hotel room. The owners are helpful, friendly and capable. The bedroom was small, but there is plenty of other space to hang out. The indoor pool was not heated during our December stay.

Superb. Simply superb. Best breakfast I’ve had in months. The pool is lovely. Their menagerie of pets is amazing (birds, dogs, goats—this is a true animal lovers paradise). And the decor is DIVINE. If you love the 70s as much as I do, you can’t go wrong.

What wasn't unique or to like about this property?! The hosts were friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the area. The property is lovely with plenty of animals to interact with. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the breakfast service was top notch!

Tavares Inn is excellent! We loved the location,(very near White Sands National Park). Deb was a great hostess and breakfast was one of the best we ever had( we even got to go boxes to take our leftovers and the mighty delicious blueberry muffin)! The indoor pool was marvelous and refreshing! An amazing place to stay! Bed was very comfortable as well!

This is an in-home B&B. A large home set up well for hosting guests in 3 spare rooms. Very clean. The hosts were lovely people and the breakfast was enormous and fresh. They have a menagerie of pets, so if your sensitive, this might not be the place for you. Also be aware that it’s off the beaten path, so if you arrive after dark, like we did, it’s hard to find. No sign.

The owners, Debbie and Bob, were very welcoming and great to talk to. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The attached balcony was a nice touch. The breakfast was great, and cooked to order when we were ready.

Excellent accommodations and very personal service (this is far more a B&B than an Inn, at least as far as I think of each) -- fantastic breakfast, quiet location, very personable hosts and a clean and comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for those visiting White Sands -- beats a chain hotel any day.

Enjoyed our stay at the bed and breakfast. The owners were very kind and spoiled us with a delicious breakfast and fresh fruit and tea delivered to our room. I wish we had more time to stay there as we would have enjoyed a swim. The pets were super friendly too.

Deb and Bob were the best! Breakfasts were so delicious and sumptuous that we didn’t feel hungry all day. They were made to order, and preceded by a “wake up” pre-breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee and juice.

The owners were awesome hosts. Beautiful home in nice area. The breakfast was a large home cooked meal which was perfect. Snacks and drinks were offered as well. Highly recommended versus staying at a hotel in this town.

Had a great time staying at the Tavares Inn in Alamogordo. It is the only Bed & Breakfast in town & is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The property itself is large with farm animals, and vegetation. The building is of Spanish Colonial style & is sprawling and beautiful. There is an indoor heated pool, an open bar with a donation box, and a pool table. It’s really a beautiful place. A huge breakfast is included & there are also snacks offered by the bar. Babs the owner/operator is Firecracker lol. I enjoyed chatting with her & highly recommend staying here.

We wanted something a little different than just a hotel room for our stay and The Traveres Inn was exactly that. It's a small B&B located off the beaten path with all the feels of home. Deb was a great host from the initial greeting to the home cooked breakfast, it was overall great experience experience.They have cats, dogs, goats , and chickens onsite along with an open bar for self service. What more can you ask for!!

This is an in-home B&B. A large home set up well for hosting guests in 3 spare rooms. Very clean. The hosts were lovely people and the breakfast was enormous and fresh. They have a menagerie of pets, so if your sensitive, this might not be the place for you. Also be aware that it’s off the beaten path, so if you arrive after dark, like we did, it’s hard to find. No sign.

The address was incorrect, the given phone number did not answer—the only such "hotel" in our 11-hotel roundtrip, 10 of which reserved with Expedia. Even the neighbors at the address given did not know anything about the place; we had to spend the night at another motel. It was very inconvenient communicating with our European cell phones and phone numbers, and at the top of all that, we have lost the money for one night not spent—what a bummer (or much worse)!

Excellent accommodations and very personal service (this is far more a B&B than an Inn, at least as far as I think of each) -- fantastic breakfast, quiet location, very personable hosts and a clean and comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for those visiting White Sands -- beats a chain hotel any day.

A great place with a family feel, which is what you would expect from an expertly run B&B by an experienced couple. Very friendly, great breakfast, pool table, drinks available by donation. Fruit and coffee delivered by the hostess, Debs, to your bedroom door in the morning. Friendly and happy rescued dogs greet you at the door. Rescued cats available for petting by cat lovers. A funny talking parrot on the veranda, goats in the yard. Toboggans available for free if you want to sled in the White Sands National Park (spoiler: sand is not as fast as packed snow). A short drive from a touristy strip with restaurants. Overall, a great place to experience rural New Mexico and its genuine hospitality. Highly recommended!

Tavares Inn is excellent! We loved the location,(very near White Sands National Park). Deb was a great hostess and breakfast was one of the best we ever had( we even got to go boxes to take our leftovers and the mighty delicious blueberry muffin)! The indoor pool was marvelous and refreshing! An amazing place to stay! Bed was very comfortable as well!

The owners, Debbie and Bob, were very welcoming and great to talk to. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The attached balcony was a nice touch. The breakfast was great, and cooked to order when we were ready.

This was a B&B Plus property. They excel in providing a great breakfast, as well as morning coffee service with a wake-up knock on your door, and then snacks and a full self-service bar available 24/7. These things out-weighed the too soft, too old mattress and small bedroom. If that is important to you, you might need to try another place. We enjoy being in unique places, away from the standard hotel room. The owners are helpful, friendly and capable. The bedroom was small, but there is plenty of other space to hang out. The indoor pool was not heated during our December stay.

Deb and Bob were the best! Breakfasts were so delicious and sumptuous that we didn’t feel hungry all day. They were made to order, and preceded by a “wake up” pre-breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee and juice.

Superb. Simply superb. Best breakfast I’ve had in months. The pool is lovely. Their menagerie of pets is amazing (birds, dogs, goats—this is a true animal lovers paradise). And the decor is DIVINE. If you love the 70s as much as I do, you can’t go wrong.

I loved this bed n breakfast. It was not hard to find. I liked it was on the out skirts of busy area. Very quiet. You are greeted by owners. Beautiful piece of history and property. If you have the honor to have breakfast cooked for you, you will not leave hungry. I was there only 1 night but wished I had time to enjoy the pool. Thank you for sharing your home. Property is exactly as shown in pictures.

This was a very nice place to stay. The hostess went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, the rooms were clean and the pool was nice even though we did not have time to swim. The furniture and carpet were dated but still in good condition.

Bob and Deb were awesome hosts. Breakfast was wonderful. Deb served an "eye opener" which was coffee and a fruit cup at the room on wake up. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
