2nd stay and was better than the first. Fantastic room with everything needed. Wi-Fi better than in previous room. Weather was great so was able to use the beer garden which was lovely. Food and drink on point again and breakfast in the morning again was fantastic.

Far better than expected, the little things like a qr code for facilities and things to do in area, biscuits, hot chocolate, peacefulness, a guest lounge with a view and a breakfast cooked and served to order, with fruit, cereals, toast, cheeses and pastries from the breakfast buffet. If you want guests to return, this is how to do it!

Our room no20,was super warm,so clean and comfy,the dog package was very unique and welcome,and the bathroom spotless,.Parking is easy and plentiful,with E V chargers,the Bar was well stocked,and the food menu was varied and reasonably priced, .we will definitely be going back again, it is a beautiful place to stay, and the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area.

What a fabulous place to stay. Every single staff member were so lovely. Superior room a little compact but clean and comfy with sky tv being a bonus. Restaurant fab. Not overpriced and best steak ive ever had. Another bonus was a secure dog walking field so cant fault this place at all.

We stayed in a family room with our dog. There was a welcome pack for the dog including a toy, treats and poo bags. They also provided bowls, towel and a bed. (Saved us getting the dog bed out of the car) We still used our dogs bowl as she's a miniature. We had dinner in the bar I had mains cesear salad, which was amazing with anchovies in as well as being a really generous portions. My fella had the gammon and my daughter had the children's menu of chicken goujons. For dessert we had the children's chocolate brownie and ice cream and an Eaton mess which we shared. Was gorgeous. The breakfast we choose was the continental, they were busy so a bit of a wait for the filter coffee to be topped up but the range of food was great. Croissants, toast, fruits including prunes and grapefruit segments, yogurt selection, fresh fruit juice, cereals including a very nice muesli with seeds and nuts in. Internet was ok, bed comfortable, good black out curtains, good shower and bath. Staff were really helpful particularly in the hotel side. We also visited the museum which was included in the price of the stay.

We had a fantastic one night stay at Jamaica Inn. We loved the museum, and the history of the inn, there was a nice selection of beers in the bar, our room was very comfy and immaculate, staff friendly and helpful, and in the morning we had the hugest sausage and egg sandwich we have ever had, 😋

Sticky wooden tables in the bar. Food very average for the price. Room ok. Bed comfortable. Bathroom redone. Looks lovely but tap is not working easily and please teach your cleaners to close the bathroom door when cleaning. It’s filthy!

The property has a lot of unique quirks, which is lovely and overall we were pleased with our time here. The dining areas/bar are reminiscent of it's history. However, when we arrived for our 3d stay we were allocated a room with no drawers in which to store items and no hair dryer. We were moved to another room on request. There was some black mould on the bathroom ceiling and tiles. A member of staff rudely instructed me that I was not allowed to take my small dog into the guest dining area (we hadn't been told this, but were happy to aquiesce). Very disappointed that we couldn't take our dog into the main garden (so she had to stay in the room), especially since we saw 2 other guest parties who were allowed to do this (even tho' we pointed one incident out to the waiter. Lovely full breakfast. Waited 45 mins for breakfast on Saturday am, person organising all initially ignored us. Threw the whole day out of kilter. The coffee is awful.

Perfect get-away. The staff were really friendly, attentive without being over-bearing. Food was fresh and delicious. The room was clean fresh and as with all areas smelt lovely. Comfy bed, smallish room but that was my choice. Would definitely stay here again.

The room we had was outstanding. Huge bed, very comfortable. Recently refurbed and they have done an amazing job. The freestanding bath was the highlight in this room. Stunning views across the moor. Exceptional breakfast. Excellent value for money. I would definitely stay again.

Good location as a base for touring. Friendly and accommodating staff. Large car park. Menu disappointing though and different to that published online. The menu choices have been cut back since our stay this time last year. On our second evening we were told that they had run out of a particular wine that we liked! It's a pub! The only window in our room that is supposed to open was broken. It was still broken from our stay last year. As a result, the room got extremely hot very quickly in the morning. Unfortunately, no ghosts this time either ;-) We will return as it is a unique place to stay and the staff are lovely.

Character Inn made famous in a book by Daphne DuMaurier. Lots of atmosphere and history of the times. Splendid room in the newish annex, comfortable bed, great food and a perfect spot to break our journey.

The room was nice but only one chair for two people also it would have been a good idea to make using the hair dryer easier by being able to plug it in by a mirror.

I had booked a room for the wrong night but reception staff were very efficient and sorted this out very promptly. Our room was so cosy with chalet style decor, refreshments and good quality bathroom products. The bed was King size and really comfortable. The room was warm and quiet. We had dinner there but were disappointed. Service at the bar was slow, menu offerings standard, and the food was served lukewarm. Such a shame! Will definitely come back for the accommodation!

Long wait for breakfast, long queues at bar despite being off season, this is solely down to lack of staff. Staff are excellent and hard working but there aren't enough of them. Standard of food has declined since my last stay, despite prices increasing dramatically.

Booked a table at the restaurant during booking in, when we went to the restaurant was told booking hadn’t gone through you need to get the food through the bar. This happens quite a lot when the paranormal nights are on as it’s happened last year to us and also another guest I spoke to on the night but he and his wife hadn’t eaten. Everything else regarding room good, clean 👍

So. My husband was so excited to stay here. It was a lovely clean room. Hot meal cooked in the resturant. Dog friendly - not something we look for because of allergies but i know that will be a plus. Museum great, staff know thwir history. We gonto bed. Fall asleep. Then are abruptly woken at 02:30 am by the fire alarm. We grab our jumpers and go stand in the rain on bodmin moore. No guidance from the hotel. We go back in. Staff say nothing. Find it very hard to settle down. We get up and go 5o breakfast. No staff mention it. We check out. No mention or apology from the staff. Perhaps this is a regular occurance.

Our booking disnt come through from Expedia to the hotel. So there was not the family room available that we had booked. However Becki on the front desk. Sorted us into the 2 remaining rooms they had left, giving us a complimentary round of drinks whilst she sorted everything. She was brilliant! Beautiful hotel, lovely bedrooms and a fantastic meal. Would recommend this hotel

Excellent place to stay, staff very friendly and polit. Not enough staff, quint at the bar was constant and the restaurant was slow service. We celebrated my Wife's 60th and had a great time. Great location which made an ideal base to retreat to after spending days out visiting the local area. Our room was absolutely spotless and was serviced every day which was great to come back to after a tiring day out. The restaurant was great for breakfast and nice evening meal. We will return for another visit hopefully in the near future

Staff are very kind, and the hotel is quiet, though it's not very convenient for local dhops and restaurants. We expected that anyway. We were very lucky to have nice weather while staying, and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

The hotel is in a grate place for exploring all of Cornwall and offers plenty of free parking. Not only that it is an absolutely amazing place to stay with top quality rooms and service and great tasting food with massive portions. It really is well worth the money and we are definitely planning to visit again!

Another super visit, staff, food and accommodation excellent. Would like some thicker pillows in the room but that’s a personal thing. Also, It’s in a great location for travelling around Cornwall.

It is quite a remote place in the middle of Bodmin Moor but is to find and access. My only issue and it’s a personal one is that the beds could be softer as I suffer with back and hip issues and could not get comfortable but as I say that is a personal problem otherwise it is a very nice place

Gem of a traditional pub/hotel in incredible location. Tidy, clean and fascinating accommodation with the added bonus of an historic pub serving very good food & drink. Room well appointed - comfortable with all the necessary facilities and some nice touches - Bathroom a little tired and in need of some TLC

I had the most amazing 3-night stay at Jamaica Inn for my Birthday. The trip could not have been better and the accommodation was really lovely in rooms 27 & 28 on the first floor. The rooms were clean, warm and beautifully presented with nice toiletries provided. Full English breakfasts and evening meals in the Restaurant were a treat and a good selection on offer catering for all dietary requirements. Plenty of cosy snugs and bar areas to sit, eat and drink. The staff were exemplary, very kind, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend Jamaica Inn for all the reasons above.

Unfortunately on the Sunday morning breakfast, there was no fresh fruit grapefruit or otherwise. We asked a waitress for some fruit and she said that she would sort out but this didn’t happen. I would have liked some black pudding and slightly larger cups for coffee, tea cup size cups meant several trips to buffet - a mug would have been more suitable. The radiator beside Room 33 (the room we stayed in) was on full and the hall was boiling- this should be fixed to prevent unnecessary expenditure and really was very cosy already. Room very clean and comfortable and enjoyed the ambiance and excellent location for our trip. Can recommend the walk to Brown Willie and to the lake.

I have stayed at the Jamaica Inn before but many years ago. Was a good nights sleep followed by a superb breakfast in the morning. Only have the full breakfast if you have a big appetite as its huge. Dinner the night of my stay was home made steak and ale pie and I can recommend it . Overall would definitely stay again.

Our check in was seamless. The receptionist was welcoming and nothing is too much trouble Our room was absolutely beautiful and the doggie welcome pack and bed was lovely touch We ate in the restaurant last night. Another wonderful stay here! Room was clean and tidy, couldn't fault it at all. Products available also amazing. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash all top notch! Service a little slow at breakfast and dinner but food was yummy. Overall an amazing stay!

Hotel has an amazing history. Rooms of good size, quiet and comfortable. Checkin friendly and quick. Slept well and room was ok. Only thing that let it down was the food which was not good value and service was poor. I'd like to think this was just an isolated occasion when it was very busy.

We loved the hotel but the food was not good. Curry was inedible. Restaurant staff were abrupt and not very friendly but I appreciate it was busy. Reception staff were lovely

Really lovely clean modern room. Staff friendly. Dinner options as a vegan were very expensive and tiny portions. Not enough option. But breakfast was very very good.

We've had bad experience in room 19 and whilst bedroom area has been refurbished recently the bathroom had not and at nearly £200 a night I'd have expected better. Housekeeping did their best after I raised issue with Em on day 1 regarding level of hygiene around disabled stool but was time pressed for wedding and had to use shower. They advised they would try to resolve later. Unfortunately their efforts were in vain and 2nd morning didn't use bathroom at all. On day 2 when I approached staff I was told Kate, General Manager would be on duty 9a.m However having had a leisurely breakfast I went back to receptionist who informed me they weren't coming in. This appeared too convenient in my opinion and possibly a member of staff had alerted them. I'd raised my initial complaint in quiet area with Em and Anne who was on reception day 2 as I didn't want other guests overhearing the issue. Initially reception advised they weren't able to compensate me and required General Managers then changed conveniently once they weren't coming in. I will be raising this with head office as I had high expectations for this accommodation having travelled up and down this corridor for nearly 40 years, stopped for refreshments but my first time staying. 😔
