The indoor pool was closed for maintenance. Would have been nice to know before the trip. Everything was clean breakfast was good everyone very nice. Very outdated. Needs a remodel. Very 70s feel.

This property was very run down. We booked specifically for the pool/hot tub and they said it was down for maintenance. By looking at the pool and the green low water it has been down for sometime and they haven’t bothered trying to fix the problem. I will say that the staff was very helpful and lovely to visit with. I hope they fix things soon.

Basically every extra at the place was out of order except the ice machine. No pool/hot tub, no laundry room, weight room was not good, tv had one channel, and do on.

We booked on Hotel.com and it said it had a swimming pool but upon arrival the pool has been out of service for awhile.

The hot tub was broken, could not close bathroom door in pool area. Carpet in room was wet the entire time we were there (4 days). Dogs next door to us when sign on door to hotel said no pets or smoking/250$ fine. Told front desk and they weren't concerned about it at all.

I had no WiFi the entire stay except when in the lobby. Breakfast is garbage. Pool is out of order (has been for years according to locals) - complete waste of money.

First, I called ahead to make sure the pool was open. They confirmed it was, it was not. The tv in the room wouldn’t turn off. There was a break on the shower wall with mold. When we went to breakfast there was news on the tv, including a story about a couple found dead in their apartment that I didn’t feel my young children should watch. When I asked for it to be turned to another channel, my concerns were dismissed. Overall, not a great stay. Disappointed that hotel.com has it rated so high when it’s not a place I’d stay at ever again.

The McAlester AmericInn has great potential, but fell short for my recent stay. The pool was down for maintenance, the WiFi reminded me of the days of 56k dialup modems, the keys constantly needed to be reprogrammed for the room, and the outside doors don’t lock. Maintenance had started repairs around the property, but they appear they left them unfinished quite some time ago, like exposed plumbing and missing sections of carpet. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare, and the lobby was very nice, as was the front desk staff. Everything above was disappointing, but by no means a deal breaker, until we came back to our room the first evening to find roaches in the bathroom. We checked out immediately after we found another room.

I was pleased with the staff, room and the price. The breakfast was as to be expected. And the lady working the dining room very friendly and helpful. I was traveling with a 12-year-old and this location was friendly for us. There were three places for improvement that I saw. The pool water was cloudy, the spa water was cloudy and cold. And the guest laundry was out of order. Overall, I think we received a good value. But there is a chance to improve.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff was great. They have a fantastic breakfast buffet.

The photos online are definitely different from the actual room you get. There was black mold in the shower. The hallway was missing carpet and smelled of mold…

We rented 2 rooms. Thankfully I wasn't sleeping yet when the bed bugs started biting. We had to wake the kids up to move 7 people and all of our things to new rooms. It was not a restful night at all. If we weren't already exhausted from the drive there, we would have just got back on the road. The hotel staff didn't seem surprised by the bugs, nor did they offer any compensation. We paid for both rooms and had a 9 hour drive the next day. It's been a few days and the bug bites still swell and itch.

Very clean and very nice people. Breakfast was good, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

The rooms were large with lots of space and everything was clean. The staff was really nice and helpful

Let me start by saying I booked a room for a single night only, and I am not an overly picky person. Tonja at the front desk was super friendly both times I talked with her. The parking lot, common areas and room were all clean. This may be silly for some, however the pillows were super flat. To the point with even stacking them, it did nothing. The mattress was not the most comfortable either and felt due for an upgrade as it was super lumpy. Lastly, the AC was a trickle with cold air regardless of how high the setting (low to high or even on fan) and even setting the temp at 65 degrees we still couldn’t get the room cooled off. Unfortunately after a long day of traveling, those combined made for a rough night with little sleep due to comfort. I did not notify the front desk as we traveled all day, checked in at 10:30PM and were just ready to sleep. I can handle most situations but it was hard to get comfortable even being exhausted. Other than that, the property was clean along with the room and the employees were friendly! The complimentary breakfast was nothing amazing, standard eggs, waffles, cereals. All were fresh so that’s all we can ask for and it is an appreciated service offered at no additional fee. I’m not sure if we will book again in the future? I can’t say it was a horrible stay, but kind of disappointing in regards to comfort even if for a night. I can say due to staff friendliness and because it is clean, I would recommend it for the price.

For the price it was excellent. The best part was the self serve hot breakfast. Most places now fix your plate and ration the food like you are in an overcrowded shelter. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Rooms and facility were clean, but the furniture was dated.

The room was just fine. The bed was a little hard. Shower had great water pressure. Breakfast could have been better

Still no pool or hot tub... its been a year + without. I stayed here several times last year. Bathroom tv didnt work again as well.

The look of the old home like building was neat. But the place it self really needs some TLC. Hot tub was broken the pool was dirt film on top of the water and hair balls in the bottom, the wall in the room had big gash marks and the floors had stains, lots trash around the parking lot, and the AC was not keeping up for this summer day.

Definitely have stayed at better hotels, for a lower cost. I’m not sure if they have an ownership or management/staffing issue, but my experience here was not great. When I arrived a little after 10 PM, I checked in with the front desk and got my room assignment. I proceeded to the room given, which to my shock I found to be in disarray, and possibly with someone already occupying (but not present) the room, or had not been cleaned from the previous occupant. Bed was a mess, towels on the floor, and a food box left on top of a dresser. I swiftly returned to the front desk to let them know, and was offered a different room. There was a half hearted apology, which tells me this isn’t a first time occurrence. Not even an offer to make things right or at least offer something for the inconvenience. Just an excuse that “the coworkers switched up rooms and didnt tell the desk”. After getting my new room assignment, I went to the 3rd floor to the new room. The hallway was missing a large section of carpet, leaving an exposed slab of concrete. Luckily this was just a few doors past the room I was now assigned. The new room appeared to be in better shape than the previous one, but didn’t feel like it had been properly cleaned in quite awhile (found a plastic tab on the floor which would have been cut off of a new piece of clothing). This was a quick indication that it’s probably been awhile since a vacuum had been run in that room. Rest of review is on Google

Staff was excellent on check in-- rooms are clean . It smelled clean when we walked in the building. best value of any place we have stayed on this trip. Would stay here again !! highly recommend..

Front desk was great! Clean space.

Our stay was very comfortable. Brandi, at the front desk, was warm, engaging and informative and the lady who prepared breakfast (sorry, didn’t get her name) was very pleasant as well as efficient in keeping the food and coffee stocked and the area picked up. Please thank them for making our stay so pleasant

The staff at this Americinn by Wyndham is the nicest group of people. The ladies at the desk did their very best to make everything good. There were a few things out of their control, the guest laundry was our of service and the TV in one of our rooms was stuck in store display mode so the remote didn't work, and the office chair in our room is in serious need of replacement. The kiddos loved the pool especially in this steamy hot summer. Thank goodness for the room AC, it was so nice. Several restaurants are within walking distance, but don't pass up the hotel breakfast it is DELICIOUS! The back door of the hotel is still broken from our last year visit to this hotel, while it made bringing our bags to our room convenient, it also left us questioning security. We had a good time visiting our family in McAlester and we appreciate Americinn's hospitality while we were in town.

Very nice property. Minor problems……room door would not latch/lock. Promptly moved to different room. 2 of 4 lamps bulbs out in room. And breakfast not existent. A loaf of wheat bread, coffee and juice. Said they had a delivery that did not show with normal breakfast items. Anyway, very nice facility, staff friendly, clean, and good location.

Best included breakfast ever at a hotel!

Out of most breakfast items at 7:30 am. A crack in the bathtub was covered with tape and was very slippery. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean but probably won't stay there again.

Online times for breakfast have not been updated. It is not open until 10 on the weekends. Curtains allowed a lot of light in even during the night. Quiet stay, no noise from the hallway. It’s older and has lots of wall defects, but appears clean. The breakfast was a bummer because we got in late and just wanted to catch some sleep before getting up to leave again.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. Room was fantastic, very clean. Even had a potted plant int he bathroom, Nice touch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than expected, eggs, sausage patties and biscuits and gravy. One of the best breakfast included breakfasts I have had. Would definitely seek out this location again.
