Plenty of parking

We had a great stay in Aberystwyth. Great breakfast, very nice Spa and an awesome sea view :) Nice people and good service as well.

The hotel was lovely. I was really disappointed to find that the spa was only accessible for extra cost because we booked through an external agent (Hotels.com). This should have been made explicit before hand and is really rubbish to get to the hotel then find we have to pay extra to use the spa. It makes me less likely to use this option again.

Sea view was the highlight. Simply superb from the large bay window of our superior room. Room was refurbished and in great condition - new bathroom. Bar was great - superb staff and a great range of ales and other drinks. Breakfast was average - low quality sausages and bacon. Black puddings, mushrooms, hash browns and cooked order poached eggs were good. Some staff were very engaging, some really didn’t want to be there. Easy to park and just a superb location. Lovely weekend.

Oceanfront property, parking on-site, restaurant on premises, comfortable king bed and warm cozy linens. Bathroom quite small, but walk-in shower a plus for me.

The view from my room was fantastic, looking over the coastline, the room itself was large and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were as expected, they do advertise having a gym, but it in reality its just two running machines, a bike and a mat in what looks like a store room :) the running machine was what I wanted anyway, but in no ways should it be advertised as a 'gym' That said, the hotel was good overall and I would stay again.

Broken shower head and blocked drain; advertised EV charge not available; unwelcoming reception; requested room unavailable to Expedia customers; poorly designed room; no proper closet; no safe; dirty stained carpet; dirty windows; no lift to second floor; no room service menu but advertised room service; room in separate annex away from reception and dining and lounge. General feeling of neglect and lack of care.

This was a pleasant surprise after staying at other hotels in Aberystwyth. Car park at rear of hotel , kind staff ready to check you in. Shame that the spa and gym are not complimentary for all guests . Quiet and comfortable . Will stay again

An older hotel, but don’t let this put you off. Sea new rooms are especially nice to stay in. Parking can be a bit tight, but that’s true of Aberystwyth generally.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Arrived at 3pm and got one of the last 3 parking spaces bethel. Later discovered a bigger car park linked to hotel across the road. Hotel was clean and well kept for an older building. My room was spacious but the other 2 rooms booked for family were a little tight. Breakfast was top notch

Room 121 - Good family space, room was tired and needed a good clean, bed linen and towels were fresh. WiFi was poor and ended up tethering to my own mobile internet. Great views as the room overlooked the promenade

The room was nice enough but housekeeping could have been better. Our bed was made but little was done in the bathroom and our cups weren't cleaned or changed. We had breakfast at the hotel on our first morning. It was adequate but not exciting. On the last night, we found ourselves in the room immediately above a very loud Christmas party. Our room was literally shaking and the drawers on our dresser were vibrating open. It would have been sensible to warn us or not put us in that room at all. As we were checking out the following day, there was vomit on the path down to the car and cigarette butts everywhere.

The property was well maintained, the room clean and pleasant, the staff was helpful and courteous. It was a great location, within walking distance of many shops and attractions.

On arrival, the main car park was full so had to go in the alternative which wasn't immediately obvious to find. Checked into the hotel and went to the room. The reception area looks nice, but the room was awful. Really dirty, including bed sheets, pillows, carpets, walls, bathroom, lamp shades. The kettle looked like a health hazard. The room itself had no toiletries so I went to ask at Reception who (after 10 mins of searching) told me she couldn't find any either, so that was that! The breakfast was okay but not brilliant. The dining room is very dated and the staff weren't attentive - they stood in the corner on their phones and talking. I travel a lot with work and am away on business most weeks - this is probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed in.

We stayed in a family room which was clean and tidy. The bathroom was very small but clean and had the necessary amenities. The hotel is located waterfront which was lovely to take a stroll as the sun was setting. It was also a convenient location for restaurants, cafes and grocery stores all within walking distance.

Good: Nice view and sound of the waves through the night. Bad: Smelly (stale, and bathroom of urine and worse in the morning). Bathroom floor not adequate. Sheets stained, everything a bit sticky. Plaster on the carpets all the way up the stairs. The noise of drunken guests lumbering upstairs/falling into my door woke me several times in the night. For over £100 (£130), clean sheets, no toilet-smell and a bathroom with floor covering attached to the floor would be more like it.

It was ok, location was nice but the room Wasn’t up to standard. There was a biscuit wrapper left on the floor in sight , bed side tables weren’t pulled out to hoover behind, in fact I don’t think the room was hoovered , unfortunately not a pleasant stay, breakfast was good but we had to pay extra for . Not really a service with a smile . Bit disappointed in all honesty.

Quite a disappointment. More like a guest house than a hotel. Room was filthy, stained sheets, lumpy mattress and just grotty. Not a 4 star hotel.

Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Reception was very confusing. Still behind Covid screens. Superior Double booked and paid for through Hotels.com but invoiced again direct from hotel. Charged an additional £60 for breakfasts, but not sure if correct. Room was 72 -1b and no sign it was "superior" , Electric fittings were excellent but the bed had been moved to the wrong place for them. The bathroom had no shelf or even a hook to place a towell or toothbrush, etc.

The staff were excellent - friendly and welcoming. The menu was far from exciting but the food we got was really well cooked and very nicely presented. The service in the bar was really good. The problem with the hotel was the room...nothing worked: two faulty lamps(one with a dangerous wiring fault), the television didn't work at all, the wardrobe door was blocked by a chair. The maintenance is seriously lacking.

Stayed for two nights for work. Room was small & bathroom/shower small too but it was adequate. Easy parking. Easy to walk into town too. I didn’t eat here so can’t comment on restaurant or breakfast offers.

This hotel is right on the seaside and we had a room that overlooked the ocean, which was amazing and the reason we booked here. As many others noted, it is definitely an older style and furnishings are out of date. It was reasonably clean and did have convenient parking on site. The bed was comfortable, but the first night was very chilly and the only heat was a portable electric heater. Oddly, there was no soap or any other bathroom amenities in the room whatsoever. We had an accessible shower in our room, but the hallways are quite narrow so if you had a walker or wheelchair, it would be very difficult (if not impossible) to get down the hallway. Overall we did enjoy our stay but wanted people to be aware of some of the quirks.

The bathroom is so small one has to stand sideways to brush one's teeth. The curtains let light through and the windows rattled. On the first morning there was no hot water. Parking is limited. If one books through Expedia, breakfast is £15 extra, which is just miserly.

Woken up at to 2am by some bloke whose girlfriend had locked him out and who subsequently screamed at him for some time after she finally let him in. It’s that kind of place

Food and Service very good. Room needs updating. Shower didn’t work. 2 lights didn’t work. Took MANY attempts to open door with key at Room 220

The hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. We will definitely use this hotel again when we visit.

Car parking wasn't great, managed to squeeze into an overflow carpark down the road by parking in front of a trailer. Unhelpful lady on the main desk, I think they should have someone else front of house. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ok for the price, the view was the best. Location very good. We paid extra for the breakfast which was not bad at £10 each. The receptionist did try to take my money for the booking again although I'd already paid via Expedia, which I can see from other reviews, happens quite often! Not too bad all in all, just a shame we had to make several phone calls to try and find a parking space on arrival, which I didn't expect as parking onsite is shown. Although nearby, the overflow carpark does mean your taking luggage further from your vehicle so may be worth reserving a space (If that's possible) if you have a lot of luggage or difficulty walking.

Staff really friendly and helpful, service good, booked a delux room, which seemed really tired when I got in it, I don’t normally ask to move rooms, but glad I did as was then given a lovely room that was pictured on their website, lovely roll top bath, sea views, the staff didn’t mind me asking to move.

The hotel room was very cold ! They did not open the central heating system even if we say it many times. The receptionist was rude, After I asked 5 times about heating system , they gave me a external heater but they didnt send it to my room , they gave it to me at the lobby so I had to carry 10 kg heater to my room! Omg I would never ever stay that hotel again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. When our shower stopped working we were given a new room. The hotel was in a very good position on the seafront.

Like staying at Fawlty Towers. Receptionist grumpy and blunt. Booked a room in hotel told by receptionist go out front door down the road about 50 yards into apartment block and down to basement. Details on Expedia didn’t mention not at hotel. Apartment expansive in size. Bar service staff no idea of what things are, but very pleasant and accommodating. First days on job with no direction as a very busy as think first weekend open. All in all an enjoyable stay if you can get over the quirks.

At check in the hotel had booked me as one person when in fact there were 2 of us. A lot of clicking on the computer from the receptionist and we were passed the room key and directed upstairs. The room was ok. It was a family room with 2 doors both with Yale licks. One of the Yale locks was broken as in it can’t be locked from the inside which made me feel uneasy. The king size bed was 2 single mattresses stitched together so with the middle seam it wasn’t very comfortable. The radiator was tiny considering the size of the room but also wasn’t working so we were freezing cold for a few hours until they sorted it by bringing 2 portable heaters. On pointing out the broken radiator, (around 5pm) the receptionist initially told me the heating only comes on at certain times of the day! This particular day was a very cold March day and bear in mind the hotel is on the seafront! The manager brought us portable radiators around 7pm. The room then heated nicely. We were in bed ready for lights out around 9pm when there were some knocks on the door…the plumber turned up to fix the radiator. He managed to turn it on with a pair of pliers but it then had to be on full blast. Luckily we’d been that cold that the heat was a welcome relief.Once settled, we were woken around 11pm until 1pm by children running around the corridors and outside across the metal fire escape right outside our windows. A poor visit overall.

Receptionist on arrival wasn’t very engaging couldn’t be bothered attitude got to room cobwebs over main light bed was clean two packs of biscuits great tea and coffee good went to breakfast looked anemic but was ok staff looked worn out and miserable went back to room housekeeping had been but then we had no biscuits they had been taken bed was not made just quilt chucked on but great view from window Not impressed at all

We had no curtains/blinds in the bathroom so anyone outside could see in, shower was cold and house keeping came straight in the bedroom, whilst my partner was in bed, WITHOUT KNOCKING at 10.30 despite check out being at 11

Good hotel located on the Seafront. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy waking distance from Railway Station. Would happily stay again.

Great location right by the sea and a 2 minute walk into the town centre

This is a nicely located hotel across from beach and easy walk to everything in town. Appreciated the free parking.

It was very comfortable, an easy walk from the station, and in a beautiful location overlooking the sea.

A great location on the sea front and within easy waking distance of the town. Parking is to the rear but your sat nav takes you to the front. Rooms are a bit tired but the staff were very friendly.

Hotel was ok. Rooms in need of renovation as were looking very dated. Shower was useless with a feeble pressure and ran cold frequently. Booked breakfast but at £15 per head was way overpriced for the offering. Lack of choice in cereals/fruit. Toast was cold and eggs were swimming in oil.

Found this hotel rather disapointing, it is rather old and not up to a standard you would expect. Breakfast was a rather poor buffet with rubber eggs. Although the hotel's information said it was £10 they tried to charge me £15. A number of adverts including in room said they did a carver Sunday Lunch they don't

Well converted series of terraced properties. Excellent food with breakfast providing more selection than many well known 'chain' hotels. And it was all hot. Very large room with comfortable bed and sea view. Pleasant, helpful staff. Well positioned for the town.
