Courtyard by Marriott Bridgetown, Barbados

The staff were friendly and very accomodating, from the receptionist to the cleaning staff. The room was modern, clean and well lit. The quesadilla and burger we ordered were great as well. Even tho the property is not located on the beach, the beach is literally across the street and very convenient. I'll definitely stay at Marriott again.

The hotel should have room service

From arriving to departure the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. It is a great location with a nice pool.

I liked that it was near to places of interest in the neighborhood, it was modern, the food was great, the staff were helpful and pleasant. Can't wait to stay there again. The gym was also an added bonus with a beautiful view of the pool.

First … I had lower expectations for a hotel in a resort area when I booked the Courtyard Marriott…I did not expect a welcome cocktail or soothing towels on arrival. However I did expect at least a nice greeting, decent service, and a functioning gym… I received none of that. First day check in the reception staff was cold and not interested in welcoming guests. I got the same when I left. There seem to be a lot of restaurant staff but no coordination and slow and unfriendly service… oh and despite all that help .. no room service..you order food downstairs, wait a long time for it and bring it to your room. They had limited coffee options and a broken express so I left the hotel daily for morning coffee. At first glance the gym seemed adequate though the cardio equipment was not fully functional and temperature was too high with no option to adjust. The final disappointment was the taxi I booked from the hotel.. it was filthy and the ride unpleasant. The shining stars were the housekeeping staff.. they were always friendly… always nice.. considerate etc. I suggest having those ladies teach the front desk and catering teams about customer service.Their professionalism was evident not just in their exceptional attitudes but the fact that the hotel is very clean and rooms left in excellent condition. I have visited the island before, I understand the vibe, but an occasional smile or at least returning a pleasant “hello” would have gone a long way to a better experience.

Pool should have been open 24/7

Property had Restuarant on site which was an asset. It was a safe clean environment.

Not up to Marriott standards. If they refuse to provide a tissue box, or to provide kitchen wares in a space with 5 cupboards, a drawer and a sink, or to provide sugar, cream or a stir stick, there is a problem. If the answer to questions about such things is ‘this isn’t like other hotels’, there is a problem. If you rent out a room knowing that workmen will have to visit to do repairs to replace a faucet, unclog a sink, and fix a flap in the toilet tank so it will flush, there is a problem. If you charge a guest for a meal they didn't take, there is a problem. If you send the guest to the beach to rent beach chairs from another hotel because you dont have your own and the other hotel already doesn't have enough for their guests, there is a problem. $130.00 BBD for two people to have breakfast??? “What’s the ice bucket for if you dont provide glasses or cups?” Answer: to keep drinks cool. Then what is the fridge for??? This cost is for the space, thats it. Everything else is a seperate cost. Plan on spending an extra $1500 US if you stay here for a week as you wiill have to purchase food, tissue napkins, condiments, walk or drive to find beach chairs to rent. The executive suite has a full kitchen structure with absolutely nothing in it. The bed is hard, there is only furniture on one balcony so if you want to use both, plan on moving the chairs each time, there is no room service and the shower head is not adjustable. For $5900 I expected at least a box of tissue!!

the breakfast buffet was average at best. Ham was very dry and bland. The scones were dry as well. The percolated coffee was tasteless. Then there was none left for whatever reason. So I asked for an expresso. Was told the to expresso machine wasn't working. After a couple of attempts,I was able to get an expresso to pour into my tasteless coffee cup . The facilities are way past their prime, signs of wear an tear are everywhere, including in the guest room. Definitely a let down considering the price paid.

This is, most assuredly, the best place to stay in Barbados. You have everything you need, and then some. At the optimal level of quality (without any of that excessive, superficial, tacky and gross «luxury» of some other places - which should make uncomfortable any serious person, who is not disconnected from the basic realities of life in this world - ). The prices (for the rooms and for any food or beverages that you purchase and savour on the premises) are decent, fair and honest. The rooms are spacious, clean, well ventilated, well-equipped, quiet, cozy and comfortable. The access to the beach - on the other side of the narrow road - is totally satisfactory. It would be just nonsense to pay more money in order to stay in a hotel with an «immediate» access to a beach. And there are numerous other, close-by beaches, each with their particularities, that you can visit and enjoy at tour leisure. Everything is very clean. Well managed, efficiently operated, diligently maintained Beautiful terrasses. One is situated on the level of the pool and the gym. The other one is at the ground level, and it is truly extraordinary. These areas, with the excellent services that they provide, are the «resort» elements of this hotel. The breakfast is excellent (not wasteful; which makes it more tasty and respectable). All day long, you can purchase delicious drinks and meals from the bar-diner. And there is a very good restaurant, with indoor and outdoor tables, in the immediate vic

I like how quiet the suite was no noise in bedroom area. The staff were very friend.y and kind. Breakfast was confusing, no-one told us how it worked. Buffet was always cold and a pigeon frequently walked over plates and serving spoons. Breakfast cereal only appeared on our 10th day of the stay. Sink plug wouldn't stay down and bath drain was so slow must have needed unblocked.

Me gustó la ubicación, buena cama, tranquilo y excelentes desayunos. Limpieza cuestionable, piso no estaba muy limpio cuando recibí la habitación, la limpieza del baño es pobre deben subir su estándar de limpieza en general. Cuando uno sale y paga para estar en un hotel como ese la limpieza debe ser primordial. En el lobby siempre hay un olor a grasa y aceite muy desagradable pareciera que no limpian bien.

Stayed for two nights…ideal location….room was big and very clean…staff was pleasant! Overall, a good stay.

Rooms were clean and well tended. Very chaotic check-in. Assume the clerks were new and in training. You need to pack your patience, but considering the nature of the islands I would recommend this property.

Worst arrival and check in process of any hotel in my life. I waited for 70 minutes in line with just four people in it to check in. I would normally be patient but I had been traveling for 20 hours and felt sick and I desperately wanted to lie down. I understand that challenges arise and service is so difficult. However, this polite team missed every single opportunity to acknowledge the situation or assign any of the 3 not-busy staff members to help improve things. Unnecessary, colossal, and painful service failure. Other than that illustrative failure, property is fine (if a bit cramped for the high traffic), clean enough, and the staff you do ever get to speak to are very polite. I will never stay here again and do not recommend it to others.

Upper balcony has lots of bird poop that attracts bugs. Ask to have balcony wiped down.

Overall, my stay at the Courtyard was a pleasant experience. The staff provided friendly and attentive service, especially during breakfast, where the buffet was well-stocked and enjoyable. The only area for improvement would be the in-room televisions, which appeared quite dark and made viewing difficult regardless of settings. Updating the TVs would definitely enhance the guest experience. Otherwise, a solid stay and I would consider returning.

Its a consistent experience staying at courtyard Barbados, friendly staff, quick check in and check out. Very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Close to great restaurants and the ocean boardwalk.

Nice property and much to my suprise the food was pretty good. What I did not like is that after over 2 weeks leaving the hotel I still cannot get an explanation for a $70 US charge on my credit card.

Very responsive! I asked for a microwave and got it right away. Perfect for business stay.

Staff not great, i ordered room service and the girl told me she was alone and that I should come down… after she forgets my order y call about 70 mins later , she tells me i call you in five.. when i come down.. she puts my plate and soup on a counter.. I see at least 3 people working, and after asking for a tray, the waiter tells me than he can now carry my stuff to the room. I politely decline. I loved barbados, im never coming back to that hotel .

No towels in our room and the air conditioner did not work. We called for towels and for someone to address the issues but no one ever came. Glad I was only there for one night.

60 minute wait time for checking was not acceptable. No contact from staff regarding room availability updates

The best was the service from the staff, especially Aaliyah from the front deak, she and the other made the experice much more enjoyable and were most welcoming.

It’s in the fun part of the island with many restaurants and bars around. We celebrated new year at the beach watching fireworks

Great place to stay and close to the beach

My stay at Courtyard Marriott was overall good. The room was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. However, I did have an issue with dinner service. I waited an unreasonably long time for my meal, and it never arrived while I was at the restaurant, so I eventually went back to my room. Later, a staff member, a Spanish lady, recognized the mistake and brought the meal to my room. While I appreciated her effort to make things right, I shouldn’t have had to wait that long in the first place. Overall, a pleasant stay with a disappointing dining experience

Although our room was adequate, we thought it was quite expensive for a Courtyard. Although the breakfast buffet was excellent, it, also, was quite expensive. There was an excellent Italian restaurant next door to the hotel.
