This property was so unique. The host was very responsive and took really good care of us. Luggage has to be portered in and they came right away and upon check out they were very fast. The room was comfortable and in a beautiful location.

Incredibly charming hotel! When I arrived the lady at the front desk explained that only 2 out of 3 rooms I’d booked were ready, but she very quickly chatted with one of the cleaning ladies and got it ready within 5 minutes. Very seamless check in, and the rooms are soooo cool! They are all very different from one another each with their own charm. The rooms have small kitchenettes with a few beverages for guests. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to visit Monemvasia. It is also quite close to the front gate so it is ideal for those who don’t want to walk too far to find their hotel.

Schönes, authentisches und grosszügiges Zimmer. Sehr nette Vermieterin. Uns wurde Wein, Wasser und Cola offeriert. Wir hatten sogar direkten Meerblick. Die Unterkunft liegt im unteren Bereich der Burg und liegt keine 3 Minuten vom Meer entfernt.

(This is a hilly area and the buildings are original, so the multi-levels are to be expected.) There was a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, and kettle. The room was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with our morning coffee. The staff who greeted us were incredibly friendly. We highly recommend this place.

The suites at Ardamis were a perfect fit for us. We occupied two suites (two couples) and in addition to the generous space and character of the private spaces, there was a shared courtyard, shaded by a huge and gorgeous bougainvillea tree with a table and chairs perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and a snack together. A terrific spot in the heart of Monemvasia. Highly recommended.

Einfach nur schön... Kein Frühstück, keine Parkmöglichkeiten am Hotel (sondern weit außerhalb der Burg). Dessen muss man sich stets bewusst sein. Es lohnt sich jedoch innerhalb der Burg zu übernachten - auch mit Familie.

She even shared the fascinating story behind the property we had booked, which made our stay feel even more special. We absolutely loved our time there. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful, and the service was great from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect, the room was spotless and cozy, and we especially loved the sea view from the balcony. We'll definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Absolutely magical town and adorable accommodations, but you may want to avoid if you have any elders in your traveling party. There are many steep, uneven, and slanted steps within the castle and down to the Ardamis hotel. I did not realize when I booked that the rooms would be multi-level, with bathrooms and beds separated by several stairs or up/down a whole flight. Definitely not ideal for the 90-year old man we had traveling with us! The host was SO kind though, letting us view all the available rooms to find the one that would work best for us. She really bent over backwards to help us, and I would stay there again (next time without my elderly father-in-law). The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. It felt like sleeping in a luxurious castle! I wish we had spent a 3rd night; only 1 full day in Monemvasia was not enough. The hike to the top was spectacular, and you have to stop at the wine, honey, and olive oil shop for tastings (and to bring home tasty souvenirs)!

My husband was here four years ago on a solo trip and was determined to make sure I returned to experience Monemvasia and this hotel in particular. It is the perfect location -close to the main entrance so you don’t have to carry luggage too far. Our hostess was so kind, with advice on where to eat and things to do. Such a delightful village. The bed was very comfortable – there is a small refrigerator. There’s a courtyard to sit in as well as a little back patio, depending on which room you get. The shower is small, so ladies washing your hair can be a little tricky, but I made it work. Get up with the sunrise] and hike up to the ruins early before the crowds/heat and catch the pretty light.

Everything was great except for the mattress for the particular room where we stayed. The mattress was worn out and you could feel it. Very uncomfortable in any direction we tried sleeping in. My only complaint. Maybe they can consider renewing their mattresses.

The moment we walked into our beautiful room on the ground floor, we felt at home! The hostess is very kind and took the time to make sure we understood how to manage the lights and hot water switches. The location is excellent - right on the edge of a small green space next to the fortress wall, overlooking the sea. We only wish we could have spent more time in there to enjoy our room!

Vale decisamente la pena prenotare una struttura all'interno del kastro di Monemvassia. Ho prenotato una stanza economica che non aveva balcone privato, ma la posizione è ottima e lo spazio interno con zona letto e soggiorno molto comodo. La signora Despina è un'ottima padrona di casa, accogliente, sempre presente e disponibile.

Vale decisamente la pena prenotare una struttura all'interno del kastro di Monemvassia. Ho prenotato una stanza economica che non aveva balcone privato, ma la posizione è ottima e lo spazio interno con zona letto e soggiorno molto comodo. La signora Despina è un'ottima padrona di casa, accogliente, sempre presente e disponibile.

Resepsjonisten som tok imot oss kunne ikke engelsk. Vi hadde bestilt et dobbeltrom, men resepsjonisten ville absolutt at vi skulle ha noe annet, en "suite". Pga språket ga vi opp diskusjonen. "Suiten" var ulidelig varm, kun soverommet var det mulig å være i. Det var kun der det var AC. 2 fryktelige døgn i en ellers nydelig by.

The location was perfect, the room was spotless and cozy, and we especially loved the sea view from the balcony. We'll definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

All'interno del castello (Kastro) di Monemvasia, vicino all'ingresso e a pochi passi dall'acqua, con vista mare e un'atmosfera suggestiva. Aspettatevi molte scale ripide, nessun accesso in auto all'interno delle mura e parcheggio all'esterno.

The moment we walked into our beautiful room on the ground floor, we felt at home! The hostess is very kind and took the time to make sure we understood how to manage the lights and hot water switches. The location is excellent - right on the edge of a small green space next to the fortress wall, overlooking the sea. We only wish we could have spent more time in there to enjoy our room!

Schönes, authentisches und grosszügiges Zimmer. Sehr nette Vermieterin. Uns wurde Wein, Wasser und Cola offeriert. Wir hatten sogar direkten Meerblick. Die Unterkunft liegt im unteren Bereich der Burg und liegt keine 3 Minuten vom Meer entfernt.

A unique experience in a traditional guesthouse. Good host. There are lots of stairs around the property which adds to the charm in a very unique location. A level of fitness is required and don't take too much luggage!

We absolutely loved our time there. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful, and the service was great from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect, the room was spotless and cozy, and we especially loved the sea view from the balcony. We'll definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

If you have not gone to Monemvasia before, choosing Ardamis as your lodging is a WONDERFUL option. We were extremely comfortable as a family of four; the parents had their own room across the facility from the kids. The location is central with everything in short walking distance. The staff are kind and inviting and they even included mutliple water bottles and cans of Coca-Cola to welcome us. And, of course, Monemvasia itself is a once-in-a-lifetime destination... watching the sunset from the cobblestone streets or from the cool ruins atop the island are memories we will never forget. We loved our stay and would gladly go again. Thank you!

Einfach nur schön... Kein Frühstück, keine Parkmöglichkeiten am Hotel (sondern weit außerhalb der Burg). Dessen muss man sich stets bewusst sein. Es lohnt sich jedoch innerhalb der Burg zu übernachten - auch mit Familie.

My husband was here four years ago on a solo trip and was determined to make sure I returned to experience Monemvasia and this hotel in particular. It is the perfect location -close to the main entrance so you don’t have to carry luggage too far. Our hostess was so kind, with advice on where to eat and things to do. Such a delightful village. The bed was very comfortable – there is a small refrigerator. There’s a courtyard to sit in as well as a little back patio, depending on which room you get. The shower is small, so ladies washing your hair can be a little tricky, but I made it work. Get up with the sunrise] and hike up to the ruins early before the crowds/heat and catch the pretty light.

We stayed in a two level suite with a lovely balcony with sea view. It felt like our private castle. Very charming! We ordered breakfast and we had it in a small veranda in front of our room. We wished we had stayed longer. Monemvasia is a unique place.

Staying in the Kastro is a unique experience - when the tourists all leave in the evening there is a quiet atmosphere, but lots of dining options. And you feel so priviledged to wake up in the morning in such a beautiful place.

Vale decisamente la pena prenotare una struttura all'interno del kastro di Monemvassia. Ho prenotato una stanza economica che non aveva balcone privato, ma la posizione è ottima e lo spazio interno con zona letto e soggiorno molto comodo. La signora Despina è un'ottima padrona di casa, accogliente, sempre presente e disponibile.

? Hespina/ Thespinia? ( sorry couldn’t quite catch her name) was such a delightful lady who welcomed us and showed us the key features of the room. It was more spacious than the pictures suggested with a couple of outside seats at the perimeter wall and also, a door coming onto a central ‘indoor’ courtyard parallel to the room. We liked the water and orange juice in the fridge and although we didn’t use them, there were two large comfy chairs and a large telly. We used the air con just briefly in the morning for an hour. We ate at Matulo at night, one of three restaurants recommended and also very much enjoyed our potter around Monemvasia. It’s a short walk from the entrance gate and I was dropped off my my husband with my gear not realising it was so close I could have taken both bags. We took the minimum leaving out hand luggage bags in the boot in the car rental. We loved our visit and can’t imagine how busy it would be in the height and heat of summer, as this seemed the perfect time to visit. The accommodation was spotless, good value versus what was available and we booked about 3 pm that afternoon. Great choice. Efharisto.

Kitchnette équipée. Balcon fleuri donnant sur la mer. Vieilles pierres et bois. Produits de toilette de grande qualité. Propreté évidente. Un endroit propice à la méditation, au repos, mais aussi à la découverte de cette fantastique ville fortifiée en cours de restauration. Les options de restauration sont nombreuses. Nous aurions aimé y séjourner plus longuement. Une prochaine fois, pour sûre.
