We have stayed at this hotel several times. Rooms are nice. Live music in the lounge is always amazing. Many options for dining including Rick’s Chophouse attached to the hotel. Fun place.

An independent hotel - not part of a chain and it's an excellent find. Parking can be an issue but they're helpful with parking location suggestions - as well as restaurant suggestions. I'll stay here when I'm in that part of Texas again.

$15 for a mini fridge is a little whack. If get trying to control the availability of a limited number of them, but there’s not that many rooms, so just putting one in each room wouldn’t be a large investment. Especially since there are so many dining options in the area and it’s easy to end up with leftovers. Overall the stay was very pleasant though.

Charming Historic hotel! Rooms had an old world charm but there was a bit of a musty smell. Carpets in hallways are bad but they are working to replace. Bed was comfy and location was amazing!

Historic features. Entry looked clean and well kept. Staff was very nice. Our room was not very “clean”. The blinds and baseboards had what looked like soda splashed all over. The carpet felt incredibly dirty, like it needed to be shampooed. The AC did not work, but we were able to transfer rooms. The “new” room’s ceiling fan looked as if it was going to fall off the ceiling, and two lights didn’t work.

Hotel is old, hot and smells bad. Had water leak streaks down the wall with mold all over. The first room was hotter than the second and was very humid and water stains all over the walls and down the wall below a/c register. Staff was very friendly and super nice though. Not there fault for the bad conditions of the hotel.

The location of The Grand and the staff are the biggest selling points of this hotel. Downtown McKinney is vibrant with shops, restaurants, and art and The Grand is at its beating heart. The front desk clerks were extremely nice and had helpful suggestions for our day. That being said, I must comment on a couple of minor issues. The air conditioning had a mind of its own and wanted to keep our room very cold. It became an issue of turning it on for a while and then turning it off for a while no matter the setting on the thermostat. Also the phone had a red blinking light signifying that I had a message when in fact there was no message. Not a problem until you go to bed. A simple fix was to cover the phone. These two issues aside I would still highly recommend this site.

I absolutely love this hotel. It's quaint, old world atmosphere is marvelous. You can walk around the square of McKinney, TX with ease. There are wonderful shops and restaurants everywhere. I was disappointed, however, with the room I was given. I opted to pay extra for windows... I love the moonlight coming in at night. To my surprise, after arriving late from wedding festivities and checking into my room... apparently the only thing to be seen from the windows was the alley full of trash cans. The reservation was made through Expedia and I was informed Expedia assigns the room. If you don't want to look at trash cans, don't get 223.

Great historic property just steps from the Square with many shopping and dining options. We stayed in a Junior suite which was gorgeous with high tin ceilings, the bathroom was huge and the king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable. Would definitely stay here again

Deserves a 5 out of 5 but for two things. Parking was a challenge. If you arrive at the wrong time, you are out of luck. BUSY downtown. The only lot that's close and free was packed. The other issue was a bit of noise from two nights of weddings as we stayed on a friday/saturday. If we had been any closer to the ballroom, i'd have been upset. As it was, we were able to leave the bathroom fan on to soften the noise. Overall, we'd go again with a better feel for the property.

Really nice room. We took a room without a window since we didn't plan on being in the room except to sleep and it was great. Without the window, the room stayed really dark the next morning allowing us to sleep a bit later than we would have been able to. The bar in the hotel is excellent.

Overall, I had the absolute best time! I came to celebrate my 40th birthday with my best friends, and was thoroughly pleased with our stay! I especially loved the hospitality! The uniqueness of the different rooms was pretty cool to see as well. After checking out, I received a phone call from Will. He told me that I left behind my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. He told me that they would be able to send them back to me, and that absolutely made my day!! I felt like the staff went above and beyond and I truly appreciated that.

The Grand Hotel staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. My room was quaint and cozy with tall ceilings. The location could not be more perfect as well. Downtown McKinney has lots of restaurants, bars, and shops that are an easy walk from the hotel.

The room and hotel were amazing. Pay attention to your folio. We were charged for breakfast being delivered to our room. We did not have breakfast either day and were charged. When I questioned it and stated that we did not have breakfast the clerk made us feel as those we were lying and trying to get out of paying. The folio was fixed but had I not asked it would have been charged.

Had a great one-night stay here. Property and staff were top notch and you can’t beat the location. Parking can be a little tricky, but once you find a spot forget about the car- just about anything you want is an easy walk.

Loved the style and ambiance of the hotel. Rooms were great every time we stayed. Room service was pretty middle of the road. We did Brunch at Rick’s and ordered room service for breakfast between the two stays and staff at Rick’s was unfriendly. Room service order was missing multiple items and overall was just ok. The front desk staff was amazing! So helpful, polite, and enjoyable to talk to. Overall we will definitely stay again but probably just walk to breakfast if we’re not doing Brunch at Rick’s.

Excellence began with the friendly greeting at the front desk for check-in. The 'lobby' is more like a comfortable living room. Our room was cool and comfortable. The bathroom was clean with a nice hot shower. We also had dinner in Rick's Chop House. Historic Downtown McKinney has numerous good restaurants within 1 or 2 blocks.

Great old world feel excellent onsite dining and cozy bar with great drink and wine options. Very professional staff all the way around. The location is perfect in downtown McKinney walk to many shops restaurants and wine bars.

Stayed on the original 2nd floor. Huge beautiful room. Had room service and ate in the lounge. Everything was really lovely. I would definitely stay there again.

The room and hotel were amazing. Pay attention to your folio. We were charged for breakfast being delivered to our room. We did not have breakfast either day and were charged. When I questioned it and stated that we did not have breakfast the clerk made us feel as those we were lying and trying to get out of paying. The folio was fixed but had I not asked it would have been charged.

There are no private little meeting rooms available if u need to have a do a conference call. They have complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning but the decaf isn’t that good. The doors to the rooms are loud when you shut them and there is no way to make them quiet. The No window room is actually amazing with no natural light seeping in for a great nights sleep. The pillows are wonderful on the bed. If they don’t have all the amenities, you can ask the Front Desk and they are very obliging.
