Under Canvas Lake Powell-Grand Staircase

We had a tent with bathroom that included toilet and chain pull shower & everything was amazing & staff was so friendly

We absolutely loved it! The tent/bed was so comfortable, the food and drinks were amazing, and the place was extremely clean, and staff were very nice and helpful. I loved the bonfire at night and they also had one in the morning with the sun rising as it was a little bit cooler out. I will say, the tents are extremely sturdy as we went through one of the very few storms that they have yearly! I would highly recommend staying here!

Free, bottomless coffee/tea/water and s’mores! Such a cool and unique experience and the night sky is spectacular if you’re lucky to come on a clear night sky! We even caught the Milky Way!

The place was great, the GPS was a little difficult to get into but once you arrive it’s beautiful. Staff is very helpful and accommodating, they give you portable chargers for your devices and have carts to take you to and from your tent. Unlike other glamping sites, you have your personal shower and toilet. One of the most refreshing showers I’ve had stays nice and hot. Food is also delicious, 10/10 place.

It was a good experience. Nice campfire with complementary s’mores at night. The tent was large and comfortable. The pillows were like rocks. It was nice to start a fire in the wood stove in the morning after watching the sunrise over the mountains. All in all a good experience.

this is a great glamping experience and the most memorable stay we had on our vacation to the surrounding parks. yes we were camping out but our tent had a wooden floor, a comfortable king size bed and a full bathroom (along with a wood burning stove but it really wasn't cold enough to need that). The setting on top of the plateau or hill had views of 30 miles. the staff was great. The food was enjoyable and reasonably priced. If you are tired of boring hotels spend at least one night at Under Canvas

The hotel is located within a remote mountainous area and must be accessible by car or it is simply inaccessible. There are several fans and air conditioners in the hotel lobby, but there are only two hand-held fans in the rooms and they are powered by rechargeable batteries. There is no outlet in the room, everything must have a USB charging port before it can be plugged into the rechargeable battery. This hotel is not recommended in summer, it can be very hot. There is a lot of wind blowing over the top of the mountain at night and although they provide earplugs it doesn't work. Unfortunately, they are not responsible for the weather affecting the stay.

Great spot with an awesome view of Grand Staircase. Don’t go in June. So hot, hot, hot! Hard to sleep at night when it is that warm. Staff was great and the property is great. Showers are ROUGH. We have glamped a TON and never had a camp shower for a place that is nearly $400 a night.

This did not meet our expectation, food option was bad, pillows were harsh, view was blurry, there was dirt on our star gaze. We should be credit a refund to be honest

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in under Canvas Lake Powell. The entire experience was wonderful! Everything about this stay was incredible! The tents are clean, the beds are so comfortable and it was so much fun having fires in our tent and it really kept the tent nice and warm. We met so many nice people at the fire pits. The staff were so friendly. I really didn’t know what to expect before coming here but everything was just perfect. It was really a memorable adventure.

We stayed here with our two little ones and it was a perfect family night! Amazing atmosphere, clean, great food, and amazing views.

We stayed two nights and it was an amazing experience. Our tent was clean and comfortable. I was concerned it would be too hot in the evening but it was the perfect temp for sleeping. Whitten the General Manager did an excellent job at making us feel welcome. She has also worked hard to have CUC recognized for a low light camp so you can enjoy the amazing stars. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for the unique experience.

Left early after a sleepless night where it seemed like the tent would blow down. Even as the wind calmed, the tent rustled all night making sleeping impossible. Ear plugs did nothing. Beware of staying here if there is any wind.

Staying here is a one of a kind experience, especially if you get a tent that allows you to see the night sky from bed. The tents were comfortable and had good amenities. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, and the dining options were also very good. I would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful views and tents are comfortable and stylish

The tents were cool but very close together. I could hear talking, zippers and flushing. It was a unique experience but I would not stay there again. In my opinion it was very overpriced.

Such a unique and fun experience. Location is beautiful. Camping but way better. Only complaint was the bed was super squeaky… for $400 a night, that shouldn’t be the case. Overall 4.5/5

Staying here was definitely an experience that we are glad we had. The location is beautiful with amazing views in every direction. We stayed in the stargazer tent and were able to see so many stars - we happened to be staying during a meteor shower week and got lucky enough to see a really good one! Overall the tent/room was really comfortable and had everything you would need. We had a king bed and while the mattress was comfortable it was VERY noisy. If you moved at all in your sleep the whole bed would squeak so needless to say we didn't have the best night sleep, but it didn't detract too much from our experience (granted we only stayed one night). Not sure if we got lucky or if all beds are like that. Super nice to have food options on the premises so that everything you need is right there and they also have fire pits/free smores which was really fun. Our dinner we got when we checked in was really tasty (we both got simple chicken strips/sandwich but tasted good quality) but the breakfast felt lackluster and overpriced. Staying here isn't cheap and I'm not sure why a bagel with cream cheese would be $9. I also got a yogurt "parfait" which was just a few scoops of plain greek yogurt with a tiny bit of granola and a few pieces of fruit on top - $14! It definitely was not a parfait but more like plain yogurt with a few toppings. So I would say skip breakfast and eat in town.... but again, we loved our experience here and are glad we came!

Property was beautiful. Would have been nice to have some sort of heater in the kids tent. Stayed during a cold storm and everyone froze even with the small wood burning fire place.

Brilliant stay. Tent very well equipped and bed extremely comfortable. Only possible improvement would be availability of hot drinks in tent.

Best glamping! Accommodations have luxury, convenience, and glamour. Staff is enthusiastic. Food is amazingly creative and eating areas are soulful accompaniments for the eyes.

Overall experience was poor. Both children have a food allergy I called under canvas @ time of booking months in advance and was reassured that allergies could be accommodated. I called the site directly same response. I called a week prior to coming and then was told just tell the kitchen staff ….. upon arrival and on the menu a totally different story. To any family a kids w food allergies my experience says you can go here but not eat the food ! I felt a little misled! Fortunately page Arizona is 20 minutes away and has enough food for anyone. My second concern was on arrival my tent choice was no longer available for whatever reason, I was told I could have a tent and a tent teepee (it’s 100 degrees that thing which I slept in (wouldn’t let my kids sleep in it was suffocating). Or PAY more for an additional tent structure! That story changed the next day and the manager detailed a different plan ! Not sure they were on the same playbook! Lastly my own camping experiences (life long) with my own stuff is more glampy! The location is great, there is nothing like the grand staircase or glen canyon. You will be blown away…. I would recommend against under canvas specifically for kids allergy and that it wasn’t quite as advertised

On our yearly epic girls trip. Picked your location to see the stars, sadly the moon (while gorgeous) made star gazing a bit difficult. Overall, a total recommend, quiet, comfortable, friendly staff!!!! Worth the price!

The property and amenities were exactly like it was described on Expedia and on their website. I did a lot of research with reviews on several different sites and knew exactly what to expect. The poor reviews that i saw were probably because they expected something different and didn't do their research. It is a tent that will make noise in the wind and you may have to get up at night a few times to reload the wood burning stove. The staff were very quick to help out and few went above and beyond to help us. Kurt in the restaurant area was great. He was ready to help us with anything and was very engaging. John at check in and check out was also great, he offered some very good advice and ideas to do while there.

The 1 mile road to the property was a gravel washboard. When we got there they was a rattlesnake in the parking area. They advertised pet friendly. The wind blew so hard it was frightening. When we went to check in for a 3 night stay they have no electric outlets and they did not allow dogs to stay alone in the cabin. This area is meant for trips to canyons, restaurants and outdoor activities. It ranches temperatures of 100 degrees. Our pet would not have been safe. We asked for a 2 day refund and the management was rude and insulting. I would NOT attempt to bring your pet.

What a gorgeous way to connect with nature .. the brilliance of the scenery and the night sky is incomparable. Simply amazing. But for just a night or two. Pretty pricey.

Amazing, peaceful oasis in the desert. Wonderful food (the only vegetable forward meals of our entire road trip in Utah) Great service, kind people, amazing atmosphere.

I don’t feel the amount of money I paid to stay here was worth it at all. I try and find the good in places and this place was not it. I ended up just going to bed to get it over with left at 5am cause it was so cold the stove it our tent was setting the smoke detector off so we were unable to use it. No fire pit at your sight to even have. The food at the restaurant was awful cold and very limited plus it’s expensive $60 for 2 meals and the beverages were all organic no caffeine. I honestly couldn’t wait to leave and was so disappointed.

Under the Canvas - Lake Powell exceeded expectations. The stargazer tent was very comfortable. The staff were, for the most part, very helpful. The dinner options were great. Breakfast was fine. We had drinks on site in the evening, played some of the board games on offer and really enjoyed our evening.
