Room was very quiet and restful with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the lounge with the 360 degree view from the 12th floor was closed the nights we were there. VERY disappointing since it was one of the draws for us to stay at this hotel.

Was a lovely break away. Only thing I would like to mention. Maybe monitor the pool area, quite a few people we noticed leaving pool area and leaving a towel or bag as to save their seats/lounger.

This is a resort hotel and delivers well in that regard. The restaurants on site and available pool side service are very convenient, provide many options and are reasonably priced by hotel standards. We had a room up on the tower which had an amazing view of the sea to wake up to. The room was generously sized, well appointed and well supported by housekeeping. It was a great room and no complaints but the cost of the excellent floor to ceiling viewing is that the windows do not open. That said when I return I will try to get one of the pool facing rooms with a balcony that faces the ocean. The view might be a little less but you an have the sliding glass door open to enjoy the sounds and the fragrances of the sea, it is a very nice tranquilizer if you are not a coastal resident. The pool has 3 sections that functionally segregates users by types with the knee high screechers favoring the sand area. There are deep enough areas to truly swim and plenty of places to just have a refreshing soak, in the sun or out. There is also a heated spa that is nice in the later evening after the air cools a bit. Pool side service is very good for food and drinks. The beach board walk is right across the street from the hotel and it is a lovely walk in a parkland in either direction. It is very well lit at night and very pretty. I always felt absolutely safe at any hour The wharf for boat tours and great restaurants are less than 15 minutes away. Heartily recommended

Very nice hotel close to Cairns cener and airport. Nice and clean rooms with view. Big pool but not enough sun beds. All of them were reserved with towels already by 8 am! No shower at the pool.

Great modern resort on the esplanade in Cairns. Clean and modern rooms with great amenities. Loved the bottle refill station! Resort pool was well presented, clean and very appealing. Great restaurants and bars within the resort, plenty of options.

Great view in the tower, comfy bed, nice bathroom with a hot shower. However, the room had a musty smell that was off putting, found out later that by turning off the AC the smell went away. I was initially told the carpet was replaced and was the cause of the smell but it was actually coming from the AC vents. I didn’t bother asking for another room since I had a booked itinerary everyday and didn’t want to play the game of switching rooms just to not have the problem go away. So I left the AC on while I was away and turned it off when I returned in the evening. Also the one day I had time for the hot tub, it was out of order which was disappointing.

We were excited about this stay - the hotel is lovely, the staff is attentive but our room in the tower smelled very strongly of mildew - very unpleasant and unhealthy feeling. None of the windows opened so there was no relief. We asked for support to address the smell specifically moving to a different room but no room was provided - the staff tried to clean the room 3 separate times but by the third day of our stay the smell was just unacceptable so we asked to be moved to one of the other local crystalbrook locations. We were finally moved to a different room which was better for the rest of our stay. The staff knows about this issue - the carpets were stained in this room and the smell was really unacceptable - guests should not be subjected to this. It’s unfortunate as the staff was lovely but real solutions weren’t provided until we wanted to leave. I wouldn’t even try another crystalbrook location in cairns if we came again because there was no support when we really needed it. I’d recommend a different hotel.

Our room was quite dirty, alot of mould build up, room was musky and dust was built up in areas if it wasnt for the room tye property is nice but i would not use there accommodation or recommend a room to anyone.

Our room smelt mouldy. The towels smelt mouldy. Just all over the place smelt mouldy. The room was nice and clean enough, if the room didn’t smell so bad it would have been a nice place to stay.

Lovely resort with friendly staff. Rooms could do with a deep clean with lots of dust build up in rooms. I also filled in their form twice to decline a room clean. Room was cleaned both times and no credit received which was disappointing. It's a great idea - just needs to be better executed.

Nice hotel and in a good location. Bed was comfortable, and nice amenities in the room. We did however have to move the room due to ants in the first room and a spider in the second room. It’s Cairns, it’s hot, it’s humid, some of this is probably unavoidable, but when you have to move twice it’s not great. Staff were very accommodating and helpful though, thank you for that!

Overall, enjoyable, but a bit too expensive. Particularly good breakfast buffet - but rather expensive. The breakfast buffet is quite similar but actually slightly better at Crystalbrook Bailey, where it's also significantly cheaper. Room had an okay view but was only a few floors up, so it was more of trees than of the ocean. No road noise at all, surprisingly - good sound insulation. Never heard anything from surrounding rooms either. The bathroom tended to flood when the shower was used - looks like the floor simply doesn't slope towards the drain, so water easily creeps out of the shower and all over the bathroom floor. Ventilation was also poor so condensation formed on the air-conditioned walls and countertop, making everything damp. Kinda gross. The floor to ceiling windows were nice, but the odd shape of the room made its layout awkward and meant there wasn't a lot of counter space nor seating. The bathroom had almost no counter space.

We were disappointed that we were put in a disability room, firstly because we believe these should be kept for people or genuinely need it. And secondly because we felt that we had no bathroom bench space, the shower completely flooded the entire bathroom. We are also wouldn’t work out the lights at all, it was either one small light on near the bed or absolute darkness. Pretty disappointing for $305 a night.

Room was very quiet and restful with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the lounge with the 360 degree view from the 12th floor was closed the nights we were there. VERY disappointing since it was one of the draws for us to stay at this hotel.

This is a resort hotel and delivers well in that regard. The restaurants on site and available pool side service are very convenient, provide many options and are reasonably priced by hotel standards. We had a room up on the tower which had an amazing view of the sea to wake up to. The room was generously sized, well appointed and well supported by housekeeping. It was a great room and no complaints but the cost of the excellent floor to ceiling viewing is that the windows do not open. That said when I return I will try to get one of the pool facing rooms with a balcony that faces the ocean. The view might be a little less but you an have the sliding glass door open to enjoy the sounds and the fragrances of the sea, it is a very nice tranquilizer if you are not a coastal resident. The pool has 3 sections that functionally segregates users by types with the knee high screechers favoring the sand area. There are deep enough areas to truly swim and plenty of places to just have a refreshing soak, in the sun or out. There is also a heated spa that is nice in the later evening after the air cools a bit. Pool side service is very good for food and drinks. The beach board walk is right across the street from the hotel and it is a lovely walk in a parkland in either direction. It is very well lit at night and very pretty. I always felt absolutely safe at any hour The wharf for boat tours and great restaurants are less than 15 minutes away. Heartily recommended

Definitely would stay again. Great location, close to shops and restaurants. I booked twin Urban room it was really nice room with balcony and side view on sea. My husband booked paronomastic sea room with amazing view the only thing is that room was musty as there is no balcony so not much fresh air get in. Staff was friendly and helpful all the time. Great place to stay ;)

We stayed at the tower building, but unfortunately the room was on the third floor so the view from the room was not so good. It was not worth paying higher for the lower floor of the building.

Great view in the tower, comfy bed, nice bathroom with a hot shower. However, the room had a musty smell that was off putting, found out later that by turning off the AC the smell went away. I was initially told the carpet was replaced and was the cause of the smell but it was actually coming from the AC vents. I didn’t bother asking for another room since I had a booked itinerary everyday and didn’t want to play the game of switching rooms just to not have the problem go away. So I left the AC on while I was away and turned it off when I returned in the evening. Also the one day I had time for the hot tub, it was out of order which was disappointing.

Pool was in a great spot for the sun. Calypso bar lovely place to spend an afternoon. Only negative thing was the rooms ac . Couldnt set the temp below 21 and when reported to reception they did something on the computer at reception so the ac only went on full fan and full cooling ,so it would stay down to 14 deg .The service guy never showed up after requesting 3 times .

We were disappointed that we were put in a disability room, firstly because we believe these should be kept for people or genuinely need it. And secondly because we felt that we had no bathroom bench space, the shower completely flooded the entire bathroom. We are also wouldn’t work out the lights at all, it was either one small light on near the bed or absolute darkness. Pretty disappointing for $305 a night.

Dining is one of the weaker offerings - had better options at other Crystalbrook properties. Room was excellent. Timing of housekeeping was variable - between 3pm and 6pm - which made it difficult to decide when to return to the room. Front desk was disappointing - even had an desk attendant argue with me when I had been following the instructions of another staff member. Got the “death” stare from the duty manager and not even a “thank you for staying with us” after spending a lot of money at the hotel.

We had the best time at the Riley. Sam at reception was incredible! She heard it was our honeymoon and upgraded our room and there was even a bottle of sparkling wine when we arrived. She also gave us a bunch of great recommendations for restaurants in Cairns. We’d love to come back and would definitely stay at Crystalbrook Riley again.

Front of house staff were unfriendly on check. We were kept waiting for an age. When checked in we had asked for a see view room many months earlier, the room looked straight into the trees across the road. We were moved to another room that had a view but was a lesser standard room than we paid for without the same amenities. I advised we were happy to take the room if we could be refunded the difference. We were upgraded to a tower room which we were pleasantly surprised. It took over 2 hours after coming in from a late flight to get to a suitable room. During our stay we ordered room service but there was no area in the room to actually sit and eat with its design. The booking system for in room dining is on tablet and no options for non alcoholic drinks were available. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping however kept changes very minimal beyond making the bed. The hotel has the potential to be a really great hotel however the current staff, housekeeping and upkeep really drag it down (besides manager Rachel who was fantastic!). The hotel also takes a $100 a night bond. For my 5 nights it was $500 that’s charged to you, not just a hold as most hotels around the world do. Upon checkout they then want to charge you again, rather than take it from the bond. So be wary. It a good hotel that doesn’t reach its potential and it probably rated more highly then it should be. Great views though.

Check your bank statement closely after staying here. They charged me twice for parking, for a breakfast I didn’t eat, and the damage deposit. Still waiting for these charges to be resolved after a few weeks Really nice hotel, great pool, room was clean etc. but the issues with charges really turned me off. Also the iPad in the room is how you order room service but our was missing the case to charge it on the dock so had to get someone to bring a charge cord and then when we did order room service it didn’t go through anyways. We were offered a free breakfast so that was good compensation but then they ended up charging us for the breakfast the next day which we didn’t even attended because I was at a skydiving event. So the hotel was really nice place to stay but I think they have some issues with management or some areas

We had a wonderful stay at the Riley. Beautiful property, well appointed and large room, very clean, well located and easily walkable. The coup de grace was the excellent and pleasant service we received from everyone on their staff, and especially from Cameron who gave great restaurant and tour tips. A great experience!

Sehr ruhige saubere und freundliches Hotel. Großes Zimmer trotz Zustellbett. Großes Frühstücksangebot. Sehr schnelles kompetentes Personal. Tolle Möglichkeit am Pool zu entspannen oder als Ausgangspunkt für Aktivitäten. Hafen und Restaurants sind nur 5 - 10 Minuten Fußweg entfernt.

Mixed bag. On the plus side the view from Rocco's is memorable and they pool/s warm and large however the pools also were an unnecessary maze to navigate between. The Calypso staff, indeed most staff, were helpful. Our room had some carpet stains and didn't have any proper mugs for coffee or tea just tiny demi-tasse. I know that breakfast buffet is self service but they didn't have either cups or silverware and had a lacked a positive attitude and said they were too busy to provide those basics. Decent beautiful place but pretty average for a 5 star property with premium prices

We recently stayed at the Crystalbrook Riley, and overall, it was a good experience. However, a few aspects of the breakfast service left much to be desired. When paying for the buffet breakfast, it’s reasonable to expect that coffee would be included, but it wasn’t, which was disappointing. Additionally, the breakfast itself didn’t feel worth the price. The variety and quality of food didn’t quite live up to our expectations, especially for the cost. The service and table maintenance at the buffet were also underwhelming. Tables often weren’t cleared promptly, and the general atmosphere felt lackluster, which detracted from the overall experience. While the stay was enjoyable in other aspects, the breakfast certainly needs improvement to match the hotel’s standards.

Hotel is newer, and the room was good. We stayed in an ocean view room and it was a beautiful view. Restaurants (paper crane and rocco) were good. Food (restaurants and room service) could be improved by offering more basic dishes, not fancy food; no water offered at the pool even when ordering poolside food and drinks (front desk told us to buy the hotel's $20 glass water bottle and use that by the pool when glass isn't allowed by the pool). I would consider staying here again if I'm in the area as it is a bit further from the chaos of downtown.
Hotel is newer, and the room was good. We stayed in an ocean view room and it was a beautiful view. Restaurants (paper crane and rocco) were good. Food (restaurants and room service) could be improved by offering more basic dishes, not fancy food; no water offered at the pool even when ordering poolside food and drinks (front desk told us to buy the hotel's $20 glass water bottle and use that by the pool when glass isn't allowed by the pool). I would consider staying here again if I'm in the area as it is a bit further from the chaos of downtown.

Spectacular looking hotel and pool. Rooms are cleaned and stocked well daily. We had a seaview room which was amazing and comfortable. Around the pool staff are professional when bringing food and drinks. Cocktails were especially fantastic from all three different bars.

Excellent location, beautiful property, and superb rooms. We had a full ocean view with balcony and really enjoyed the quality of the room's fittings and fixtures, especially the lighting. Only criticism is that the bars and restaurants close WAY too early around 10pm and the Rooftop Bar was closed on Weduand Thursday when we really wanted to go, that seems pretty mental to be honest!

There is nothing luxury or 5 star about this hotel. Rooms are dirty and if you stay in the tower, very very musty. The smoke detector went off in our room and the firefighter commented that it was due to cobwebs in the sprinkler sensor. While the breakfast is good and the views lovely, I would not recommend this hotel. Especially if you are expecting a true 5 star experience.

Overall, this is a decent hotel with some really good amenities, particularly the pool, which was excellent. Unfortunately, we felt we got unlucky with the room we were allocated — Room 201, which is designed for wheelchair-accessible guests. I completely appreciate the importance of accessible rooms, and the bathroom is clearly very well designed for guests who require those facilities. However, being 6 ft 2, having almost everything positioned at a much lower level was uncomfortable and impractical. There was also no storage or shelving in the bathroom for toiletries, meaning we had to keep them near the fridge area and walk back and forth to retrieve them. The roll-in shower was another issue, with water spreading across the bathroom and towards the room. We ended up having to sacrifice a towel to stop water entering the bedroom area. Cleanliness was also disappointing. The room was quite dusty, and we found no less than 10 random long hairs on the bedding and lounge areas, seemingly left behind by previous guests. The hotel itself has plenty going for it and the facilities are good. Unfortunately, our experience was let down by the layout and cleanliness of Room 201. Overall, it’s a decent hotel — we just unfortunately got unlucky with our room.
