Nice to park right next to our cabin. It was a beautiful cabin and in great shape. Disappointed to have no breakfast nor microwave as there were not many dining options nearby. Loved the walkway to the beach, but it was not as close to the cabins as we first thought. These were minor issues, the cabins were great.

We stayed in the Cranberry Room in the main inn, which was comfortable and spacious. The beds being across the large room from each other give a sense of individual space, ideal for friends traveling together. The bathroom with shower was small but adequate. The wrap-around deck/balcony has a great view of the water and small islands below, and we had one of the most the most spectacular sunset views we’ve ever seen during our stay. Large windows in the common area of the inn also overlook the water. The host was easily reachable when we had a problem with the code on our door keypad at self-check-in, and also texted several great suggestions for places to see, local dining, etc. Great for a vacation destination or a weekend getaway.

On the plus side; Fantastic view. Comfortable bed. On the minus side; Internet in Room 8 was non-usable due to inadequate signal. Had to carry bags up steep stairs - no desk person to help. Ice not available No TV in room or common area. No small fridge in room. Only 2 bath towels provided for 2 people on 2 night stay. Very small bathroom. Not well soundproofed. No hair dryer. Not worth the price that we paid.

The Inn is in such a gorgeous location. It was so quiet--we rarely ran into other guests, and when we did it was a pleasure to cha with them. Loved sitting on the large porch/deck and enjoying the view. The sound does travel, so we heard other guests in the hallway and we suspect they heard us when we were up early.

Great views from the Main Office deck! We enjoyed our coffee on the deck while looking out at the ocean and beautiful fall trees! Great place to stay, would stay again if I am in the area.

Stunning view and nice picnic tables to sit. Would have been nice to have a fire in the fire pit but it was filled with water and there were mosquitoes swarming the Adirondack chairs. Also it was difficult to sit in other chairs provided bc they were soaked from rain.

I liked the owner's hand-off approach. Honor system on food, fridge and beer. Everyone was very nice both the guests and the owners. It probably isn't a place for children as there isn't even a TV which was fine with me. The entire area is super dog friendly. If you stay, be sure to walk to the ocean during low tide it is incredibly peaceful.

The view from the hotel/inn is amazing. The place is peaceful, and the staff are hardworking and kind. It is a great place to stay if one wants to be near Schoodic peninsula.

Beautiful view of the water, nice cabin and comfy bed. Nice messages with suggestions for the area from the property owner. We enjoyed staying on this side of Acadia and wouldn’t hesitate doing that again even though it is a drive. This side of Acadia is much nicer in my opinion! We did however encounter way too many spiders in the cabin. Between that, the cobwebs, dirty floors, dusty walls and the air conditioning wouldn’t work correctly. When my husband cleaned the air filter it was covered in a thick layer of dust. Hot water heater was enough for one shower in the morning. My husband had to wait an hour after I showered for the water to warm up. Also for the price it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.

We were looking for places around Bar Harbor to stay, and this did not disappoint. It’s an hour away, but honestly, we liked it better than being in the town. The space was much higher quality than even the pictures show. Very clean, quaint, with great amenities and a view you can’t beat. Plus the owners send texts with recommendations and have an amazing guest book. We had everything we needed and more.

Quiet clean cabins away from the crowds of Acadia. Close to several restaurants and good hiking trails. About an hour away from the main part of the park- and its crowds. Very comfortable.

Place was clean, views were outstanding but we didn’t see anyone until the next day. Also (this may have been operating error but) we thought we were in a cabin but ended up in the lodge… they did give good recommendations for breakfast, dinner and Schoodic loop…

We stayed 2 nights. The room was ready when we arrived. There is NO tv in the room. The fan motor in the bathroom had a delayed start and may need replacing or lubrication. The window was old and didnt completely close. It did have a portable AC unit and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The view of the harbor from the front deck was amazing. The young man at the desk was very nice.

Well, its the view ....amazing. staying here is all about nature but if you want a restaurant be prepared to drive at least a half hour and if its a Monday or Tuesday, well you can fast. We were in the chickadee room. Its large, comfy beds and sofa. Small bathroom. The walls are thin and the people upstairs you hear every word and every footstep. The breakfast is critical as there is nothing else around. But after a couple of days of bagels and muffins you want some real hot breakfast food. Its pricey, but then the Bar Harbor area is all about freeing you from your money. You will enjoy your stay, we did.

Our stay at Bluff House Inn was cozy and relaxing. Self-check-in was simple with clear instructions sent by message, and the cabin itself was very cute and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole place had a quiet charm that made it easy to unwind. The view was more of the woods than the ocean, but still beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was basic with prepackaged items and hard-boiled eggs, but the coffee station was wonderful—we found ourselves going back several times just for that. On the downside, the cabin had no closet or shelving, only a small bench with limited storage, which made a week-long stay with two people inconvenient since we had to live out of our luggage. The Inn is in such a gorgeous location. It was so quiet--we rarely ran into other guests, and when we did it was a pleasure to cha with them. Loved sitting on the large porch/deck and enjoying the view. The sound does travel, so we heard other guests in the hallway and we suspect they heard us when we were up early.

The cabin was awesome, the sunsets amazing. It was nice having our own space, would have liked to have a bigger shower but it worked. Everything you need is pretty close. There are plenty of food restaurants on Highway 1 that are delicious. White Harbor is a beautiful place with nice dining. We would definitely recommend staying with the Bluff House. It was awesome and I would do it again.

Clean and spacious room. They could use some basics in the room, though, like hooks or rods for towels in the bathroom, a bit larger fridge, another mirror (the bathroom vanity is very small and the only mirror is above it - doesn’t work well for two) and an bed that doesn’t squeak each time one person rolls over.

We enjoyed our stay and the spectacular views. The cabin was cozy and well kept. The staff was very responsive and polite. My suggestions would be for a small microwave (couldn't reheat leftovers), comfortable chair inside the cabin and maybe an inside door lock to secure the door. Enjoyed Bar Harbor and small venues locally.

Overall it was a good experience. This is a place to disconnect, unplug and be still after a day of not being still. Staff is only there during breakfast hours. Which led to guests having to explain to the newcomers the check in process. Which is basically cause people just don't read. One guy deleted every text thinking it was spam. Continental breakfast.The family style of everyone and their children touching communal butter, cream cheese, pb and jelly was a little off-putting. Be aware that there are no room TVs. The provided toiletries are in the form of a 3 in 1 soap. You will need to climb stairs with very small and deep steps of you stay in the inn. Grocery stores are not nearby, so come prepared.. If you drive by Ellsworth... That's where you need to stop. The view is amazing and everyone was nice. Plenty of space to just sit and enjoy the view. I stayed in the inn rooms not the cabins.

We stayed in the Cranberry Room in the main inn, which was comfortable and spacious. The beds being across the large room from each other give a sense of individual space, ideal for friends traveling together. The bathroom with shower was small but adequate. The wrap-around deck/balcony has a great view of the water and small islands below, and we had one of the most the most spectacular sunset views we’ve ever seen during our stay. Large windows in the common area of the inn also overlook the water. The host was easily reachable when we had a problem with the code on our door keypad at self-check-in, and also texted several great suggestions for places to see, local dining, etc. Great for a vacation destination or a weekend getaway.

My dog and I had a lovely few days here! They had great communication which made “check in/out” stress free. Definitely felt like a home away from home. They were also thoughtful enough to provide send suggestions for things to do and places to eat! Would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel, the rooms and the view are absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for peace, quiet and beauty this is it. The reasons my rating isn't 5 stars are as follows. Hotels.com says this is 6 miles from Bar Harbor. This is true as the crow flies but that is by boat. It is a 50-minute drive, however. I felt betrayed at first but the I fell in love with the place. I wanted dinner when I got there and dining within driving distance was scarce. It was very hot for the area and there was a portable a/c in the room, however it was not vented out (could not be vented out those kind of windows). Not realizing this, I turned it on and went to watch the sunset. The room was almost 90 degrees when I got back. It was blowing cold air out the front and VERY hot air out the back. Also, the very small ice machine was broken and full of water. Since the only staff we saw the whole visit was the person putting out breakfast at 7am there was no recourse and no way to get any ice or cool air in my room. Luckily it was cool enough and beautiful enough that I sat outside for another hour with the room windows open and the fan on high until it was cool enough in there to fall asleep.

We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights Hotel information stated there was no breakfast available. We were only given enough coffee packs, filters and cups for 2 days. I went to the “inn” to see if i could find some and saw a sign saying breakfast 7-10. When i asked why we were never told about breakfast or coffee being available, despite having multiple email communications with the management, they had no answer. Personally I don’t think they told the people staying in the cabins because they didn’t want us to know because I didn’t want us to use it because I didn’t wanna pay for it. Clearly, only the people in the end actually knew about it. They do not supply any toiletries and no amenities. Absolutely not worth the money and definitely not a five star stay.

We were looking for places around Bar Harbor to stay, and this did not disappoint. It’s an hour away, but honestly, we liked it better than being in the town. The space was much higher quality than even the pictures show. Very clean, quaint, with great amenities and a view you can’t beat. Plus the owners send texts with recommendations and have an amazing guest book. We had everything we needed and more.

The view from the inn and cabins was beautiful. The owner/staff couldn’t be nicer. The cabins are not large but were absolutely what we were looking for. If you’re looking for a nice quiet/peaceful getaway then I’d highly recommend checking out the Bluff House Inn. Only thing to know in advance is that the inn is located a decent drive (~40 mins) away from Acadia and Bar Harbor area if you are looking to do that, but is very close to the Schoodic side of Acadia.

Beautiful cabin. View from the cabin is breathtaking. If you want to avoid all touristy crowd from Main Street and relax and unwind, this is your place. Stuff are good. Breakfast is a plus. Only downside is the distance from bar harbor town. If you won’t mind driving an hour, this place is highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stay. Amazing sunsets, an outdoor patio to eat breakfast & look at the water. We went to Acadia/Bar Harbor in the morning & it was about an hour drive. Left 6:30 & the park was pretty empty until 11 am. 2nd day explored Schoodic part of Acadia (down the road/close by). Great continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

Well, its the view ....amazing. staying here is all about nature but if you want a restaurant be prepared to drive at least a half hour and if its a Monday or Tuesday, well you can fast. We were in the chickadee room. Its large, comfy beds and sofa. Small bathroom. The walls are thin and the people upstairs you hear every word and every footstep. The breakfast is critical as there is nothing else around. But after a couple of days of bagels and muffins you want some real hot breakfast food. Its pricey, but then the Bar Harbor area is all about freeing you from your money. You will enjoy your stay, we did.

Our stay at Bluff House Inn was cozy and relaxing. Self-check-in was simple with clear instructions sent by message, and the cabin itself was very cute and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole place had a quiet charm that made it easy to unwind. The view was more of the woods than the ocean, but still beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was basic with prepackaged items and hard-boiled eggs, but the coffee station was wonderful—we found ourselves going back several times just for that. The room and view were very nice, but service was very lacking. Continental breakfast was advertised but not provided. Ownership had a family gathering during our stay which was uncomfortable, and felt like we were imposing on their family reunion. The stay should not have been available if that was planned as the lodge did not feel welcoming with the family and kids using the kitchen to cook breakfast and any other meals, especially in absence of providing the advertised breakfast to paying guests. Additionally, the room didn’t have a trash can.

We stayed in the pine cabin. It had a beautiful view of sunsets and was clean, quiet and well maintained. Cabin is quite small with small shower. The area is pretty remote, but the path to the little beach is very cute. The views and the lobby area are also great, the rooms are just old and small. The breakfast is very basic (Walmart bagels and a coffee machine) and the staff is not overly welcoming. Has great potential but felt very basic (some ideas: some lawn games or board games to make the shared space feel more inviting, fruit at breakfast, some bathroom items, etc).

A truly magical place! Enjoy a panoramic view of the water and mountains from the rooftop deck. A delicious and well stocked breakfast every morning downstairs and plenty of areas to sit and relax around the property. Take the path down to the water and enjoy listening to the waves. Plenty of great establishments around to have drinks and great food. 👍
