We stayed two nights to enjoy the incredible snow Targhee has to offer. The Teewinot lodge has been renovated and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The ski in/out is great. That being said the service is lacking. When we checked in the amenities were poorly explained. The hot tub was great but we had to find it ourselves. The late check out is 30 $ ( worth it in a powder day) but they lock you out of your room at 11 am, and fail to mention that you need to go get new keys. Despite the late check out at 1 pm we had someone barge into our room at 12:35, while we were naked out of the shower! Disappointing. The plastic wrapped cups in the room are horrendous - not an environmentally conscious establishment.

If you take the chair lift to the top of the mountain here you will get a breathtaking view of the Grand Tetons. This alone boosted the rating for this place considerably. It is also very convenient to the Grand Tetons national park and only a 4 hour drive to Yellowstone. The room was just OK because it had no air conditioning. We had to sleep with our sliding door open and a fan blowing. It was still hot and we had noisy neighbors, so not great. The food was only so-so and expensive. They did have good beer. With the exception of a front desk employee, everyone was very nice and very friendly. This is mostly a mountain biking center in the summer and there are a lot of hiking/biking trails. I did receive a really nice laminated brochure on the wild flowers for free. They also offer free bus rides into the closest town, Driggs Idaho, which is really cute.

Great resort with amazing views. Love the scenic chair lift. Note: it’s $30 per person for up to 3 rides. Unfortunately you have to take all 3 rides in that same day.

We only used the resort for sleeping overnight and pool, didn't dine or shop, so the rooms are great, pool is heated, everyone is friendly around, will be back for sure if travel that way.

This is a great place to stay. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. There are 2 restaurants on the property. There are lots of places to walk around. The scenery is beautiful. My only complaint is the brew pub and the store close very early at 7pm. It would be nice if they stayed open another hour.

Rooms are very dated and need renovation. There should be adult hours for hot tub. As in, no children after 6pm in hot tub. Overall the resort is clean. Restaurant food is good but hours should be expanded past 7pm. The hiking and biking trails are fantastic! The scenery is beautiful!!!

Our room was not very clean, very outdated, not very roomy. Shower was old and tiny, beds were just okay. probably wouldn't stay here again. Went to dinner in the main restaurant and there was a dead fly on the table when we sat down. Food wasn't bad.

There were hairs all over the bathroom floor in the first room we received. Totally disgusting. Hairs and a very dirty floor - the cleaners did not clean the floor or vacuum it. We complained - received a new room - which was even worse. More hairs on the tiled bathroom floor. We received a 20% discount the next day but felt we should have been compensated more since we had to clean the floor ourselves.

Expedia shows this is near Grand Teton, it is Not. It’s a 90 minute drive to park entrance. Shower had a ball of black hair in the drain, obviously had not been cleaned since prior guest.

Property is very dated. Our room was dirty. Had dirty towel still in bathroom along with someone else’s dirty socks. Just overall bad. We checked out the next day and found a new place to stay.

The resort was tranquil, rustic, and beautiful. It’s right at the foot of the ski hill with access to restaurants and shops. The room was clean and well stocked with essential supplies. The parking was free and plenty in this season. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a bit outdated but again, it was very clean and things functioned perfectly.

Our family of four had a terrific stay in one of the two queen rooms in the Teewinot Lodge. We were there for four nights this summer and were quite comfortable. The room was very well laid out and had ample space. My only suggestion would be more closet hangars and maybe an extra hook or two for towels in the bathroom. Otherwise, staff was amazing and loved the remodel!

Be careful which building they put you in because the older building has no microwave and terrible ventilation, leading to a stuffy room that never cools down even with 50 degrees at night. On top of that, the sheets on the bed were stiff and uncomfortable. The rooms are small too. The young staff is great, and the resort itself is beautiful with a nice pool and fun options for the kiddos.

Our experience at Grand Targhee Resort was far from pleasant. The room had multiple issues: a non-functional fridge, poor internet that disconnected constantly, and very limited power outlets. The provided charging cables were ineffective. Despite listing multiple restaurants, only one was open — and only until 8 PM. Others remained closed, leaving us with few options for meals. The front desk was unresponsive in the mornings, and water quality was extremely poor, leading to skin irritation. Given the price and expectations of a resort, this was a major letdown. Would not recommend unless serious improvements are made.

This was very far from our Teton destination but because of booking late we had few options. We arrived by 8pm and was met by an unkind and snooty lady behind the desk. There were no elevators and very old and outdated rooms. Floors creaked, showers creaked, bugs and old carpet filled the room. We had loud people who slammed doors and stayed up drinking until 3am the first night. I know it's the National Park thing to do - to have old outdated hotels with broken down everything but this place is in desperate need of rehabbing!

Room was clean and staff were courteous and helpful. Our problem with the room was that it could sleep 4 (queen and 2 bunk beds) but couldn't actually accommodate 4. Sleeping for 4 should mean someplace for 4 people to keep all their clothes. Maybe a medicine cabinet for 4 people to keep toiletries instead of just a small mirror and small counter in the bathroom. The room had a giant, fake, fireplace taking up space that could be used for a larger dresser. Not a "fake" electric or gas fireplace but a completely sealed up and purely decorative fireplace. A 4 person room should, at least, have 2 mirrors. If you're going to Yellowstone during your stay then you should definitely make sure you,re back by dark. The on-site dining will be closed, the local restaurants will be closed, and you'll be too far away for delivery. Also, HW 20 is super dark, winding, and hilly. It's basically a farm road with higher speed limits and every other car will have it's high beams on. We could have ended up in collisions several times due to blinding high beams and twisty road conditions if it weren't for the driver assist cruise control on our rental helping me stay in our lane. We stayed here for cost but spent more time driving when going to Grand Tetons than we would have if we'd stayed in a nearby town.

The staff and management were excellent, very accommodating and made our stay wonderful!!!! We stayed in the tewinot lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Thanks again to the staff for a wonderful stay!

We had prebooked reservations for Sunday, September 8, 2024. During the day, we were in Yellowstone National Park and realized we were not going to arrive until late in the evening but we had no cell service nor internet so we could not call until around 8:00 PM. When we tried to call several times but only got an answering machine and could not talk to a person. The message made it sound like we were calling outside of business hours. We assumed no one was in the office and we decided it was best to book somewhere else. It was very frustrating. and we had paid for it in advance. It was devastating and we were not very happy.

Staff at check in was not very knowledgeable, but friendly. Megan who helped us during our stay however, was excellent in every way. Friendly, helpful, and great attitude. Really appreciated her help. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

The property has a very nice set up and is away from all civilization, has a store dining ect, very nice set up. However, staff is rude and in considerable, rooms are not advertised properly, dining was terrible and so was the staff, the menu is limited and over priced, menu doesn’t make sense, it’s like they are trying to give fine dining options but the choices are random. food took an hour and half to prepare and was cold when ut arrived, the bill was outrageous, even the coffee was cold. Told the waitress that all 5 kids complained the lemonade being sour, her response was it came from a jug, if it was just one kid who didn’t like it that would have been not a big deal but all 5 didn’t like it? Then charge a service fee of 40.00 plus expect gratuity. The convenience store clerk was also not very professional, needed a type C charger which they didn’t have. Clerk said he had one that was “ kind of broken” he would sale to me. After all these events I didn’t want to stay the next night . Tried to check out early and explain the situation to the young lady working the front desk, she was also rude and told me I needed to cancel 14 days prior to the reservation, and then condescendingly slapped the “mangers” card down on the desk and told me it would be a while before he could get to me. I do not recommend staying here at all.

However, staff is rude and in considerable, rooms are not advertised properly, dining was terrible and so was the staff, the menu is limited and over priced, menu doesn’t make sense, it’s like they are trying to give fine dining options but the choices are random. food took an hour and half to prepare and was cold when ut arrived, the bill was outrageous, even the coffee was cold. Told the waitress that all 5 kids complained the lemonade being sour, her response was it came from a jug, if it was just one kid who didn’t like it that would have been not a big deal but all 5 didn’t like it? Then charge a service fee of 40.00 plus expect gratuity. The convenience store clerk was also not very professional, needed a type C charger which they didn’t have. Clerk said he had one that was “ kind of broken” he would sale to me. After all these events I didn’t want to stay the next night . Tried to check out early and explain the situation to the young lady working the front desk, she was also rude and told me I needed to cancel 14 days prior to the reservation, and then condescendingly slapped the “mangers” card down on the desk and told me it would be a while before he could get to me. I do not recommend staying here at all.

We had a very good stay; the staff was helpful and friendly and the property is in very good condition. It's a very charming and interesting little ski resort, unique and well-designed, a very nice place for a summer visit.

This was very far from our Teton destination but because of booking late we had few options. We arrived by 8pm and was met by an unkind and snooty lady behind the desk. There were no elevators and very old and outdated rooms. Floors creaked, showers creaked, bugs and old carpet filled the room. We had loud people who slammed doors and stayed up drinking until 3am the first night. I know it's the National Park thing to do - to have old outdated hotels with broken down everything but this place is in desperate need of rehabbing!

We had a booking error through Expedia, and it somehow booked for a weekend prior to when I was trying to book. I didn't catch this until after the date when we were supposed to stay there. I tried to contact the hotel to see if we could do anything about this, and to schedule a stay for the correct weekend, and could never get ahold of the front desk, or the reservation service. I contacted Expedia, and they agreed to try and get me a refund, or a reservation change. They tried for days to get ahold of the front desk, and could never get ahold of them. Meanwhile, I kept trying to get ahold of the front desk, and even left a message, which they never returned. Expedia finally emailed me and told me that they were unable to contact the staff, and could not get me any kind of a refund or reservation change. I will never consider staying here as the staff and management are completely unable to be contacted. We ended up reserving a room at another hotel, for double the price, but were a lot happier with the outcome and communication that we recieved there.

Many things about this property are technically true, but misleading. Maybe in straight line distance on a map this is only 13 miles from Grand Teton National Park. But you have to drive around a mountain range and it takes an hour and 30 minutes to drive there. They also refused to restock or clean the room. If you say anything they say you have to give them 24 hours notice. But since you wont know this until the end of the 2nd day, you would have to stay at least 4 days to know the truth. I stayed 7 and found out the hard way. You can however go to the lobby and get restocked yourself. Also it clearly says non refundable, believe them.

The property was great. We were looking for a place to stay close to Grand Tetons NP. This resort is almost a 2 hour drive to Jackson, WY. The manager at the resort told me that they usually have at least one person every day check out and go looking for another place to stay. There was no refund available for our cancellation because they require cancellation a week in advance. On a map, Alta looks like it is very close to the park, until you look closer and realize that there is no road that goes directly to the park. To some extent, I think it is dishonest to advertise this as lodging "near" Grand Tetons NP. Considering that people are surprised by how far away this lodge is from the park frequently, I think they should not be able to advertise that they are close to the Grand Tetons without a clear and easy to spot statement about how far it is from the actual park by road.

This is a great property and our room was pretty roomy with comfortable beds. But we only stayed for one night so if I had I known this was a ski resort and the drive to the property would be so difficult during the dark and rainy evening I wouldn’t have booked it. Our trip to Wyoming was a last minute extension to a Colorado trip so I didn’t do any research. I had searched for lodging close to Yellowstone and this property was on the list and was one of the less pricier rooms so I booked it. That being said, the next morning we saw what we were missing on our dark and dangerous drive to the property. The view was gorgeous and there was snow on the ground and on our car… in June! If we had had more time I think we would’ve stayed here and explored. The drive back down the mountain was beautiful. That being said, I wouldn’t book this property for a short overnight but rather a longer stay.

A great "home base" for our travels around Yellowstone and Grand Teatons. A bit of a drive, but beautiful! Plenty to do at Grand Targhee without the crowds after a long day out hiking and exploring. Nice pool, lifts, hot tub, workout facilities. Lifts are perfect for those wanting to do a lot of mountain biking!

Good place to start your vacation. Especially if you like mountain biking or snowboarding. Just bit far from the town. Approximately one hour drive to Jackson. Overall, it’s an excellent resort. Friendly staffs. Clean room.

Inconvenient location for visiting Grand Tetons & Yellowstone. Horrible experience in their restaurant- bad food, a worm on the salt container and expensive. Room service didn’t replace towels on the bathroom floor and forgot to replace soap, creamer & sugar.

Had a great stay at this little gem of a ski resort tucked away in Alta Wy. The room was fine. The restaurant was incredible. It was summer so it was pretty vacant. I was alone in the restaurant for most of my meal. I started with a Huckleberry Mule made with Huckleberry Infused Vodka. Then a Venison Chop medium rare on pureed carrots, with green beans that was out of this world. Finished it off with a hot out of the oven chocolate chip cookie, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream with huckleberries drizzled over the top. Coffee with a shot of Jameson's Irish Whiskey and Nighty-Night!

There weren't a lot of places to stay on our trip so we ended up here. In the summer there aren't many food places. They show a lot when you book, but most are closed for the summer. The staff at the restaurant we did have was horrible. And they were out of a lot of the menu choices.

The property is beautiful. The room was great. However, there is limited dining options. It says there is 4 restaurants but only 1 is open. The pass for the ski lift for the overlook is ridiculous. You have to use all 3 rides in 1 day, $30 each person. The front desk staff could be more inviting. The general store staff was really nice and helpful. The construction was really loud and would have been nice to know beforehand that it was going to be there we probably would have chose to stay somewhere else. All that aside its a beautiful place.

This is a great place to stay. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. There are 2 restaurants on the property. There are lots of places to walk around. The scenery is beautiful. My only complaint is the brew pub and the store close very early at 7pm. It would be nice if they stayed open another hour.

Rooms are very dated and need renovation. There should be adult hours for hot tub. As in, no children after 6pm in hot tub. Overall the resort is clean. Restaurant food is good but hours should be expanded past 7pm. The hiking and biking trails are fantastic! The scenery is beautiful!!!

We stayed here because all the Jackson Hole places were booked. It was a good hour and a half drive from there for our two days in Jackson, but the scenic drive up the mountain made it fun...it's a ski resort and we were travelling at the end of the summer season.

The location was excellent. Staff and check in was great! The restaurant served delicious food. The hotel itself is dated. There is no a/c and the walls are thin. Can hear people outside the room knocking on doors, talking and every time someone turns the water on or flushed the toilet next door. These were the only disadvantages. If you’re a heavy sleeper, you’ll be ok in regards to the noise.
