Very clean and comfortable. Gail was our precious hostess. She had a full house by herself. Her daughter was out of town. But she handled everything wonderfully. Provided a delicious breakfast 2 mornings we were there. Beautiful Inn with Prospect Bay right across the street. The only thing I would suggest is working on the landscaping a bit.

The host was awesome and breakfast was amazing. The early morning view of the sunrise over the harbor across the street was a highlight of our trip. The property was in need of some repairs, but I chalked that up to being so early in the travel season and not getting to them just yet.

Cute & quaint B&B overlooking the bay. 2 of us stayed in Dorothy's room and enjoyed our stay very much. Clean, spacious rooms with all the amenities we needed. The hostess is a gem of a person. She was very kind and resourceful. We loved our conversations with her! They offer breakfast in the morning and information on things- to- do around. Acadia National Park and Bar harbor are just an hour's ride away. Parking available in the front yard. Highly recommend for a peaceful holiday by the water with other outdoor activities not too far off!

Had a quick overnight trip up to Maine and crossed paths with Elsa’s INN! Very thankful to have a private room and private door access, helps when waking up early or returning later in the evenings. Elsa was inviting welcoming us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed and informative with what’s happening in the area! This INN is located right across the street from the ocean, in the mornings you can sit on the beautiful deck with a fresh cup of coffee, watch the humming birds and the boats leaving the harbor, a perfect start to your mornings in Maine! Booking was easy and hospitality provided was unmatched. I look forward to visiting again!

A precious lady, Gail, welcomed us to her Inn. She had a full house of 12 to serve as hostess for morning breakfast which was excellent! The second morning was delicious as well. Gail’s daughter was out of town for medical testing for the week, leaving her to carry the load of which she did wonderfully. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that I would recommend would be to tidy up the landscaping. It would improve the exterior of the beautiful Inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Elsa’s Inn to the utmost of pleasure. Gail is such a sweet lady with a cute disposition and an amazing cook!

Absolutely wonderful!! A peaceful spot along the water. I could have sat on the porch the entire stay! Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend! PS- the info on Expedia about needing to be there by 3 pm was inaccurate! They were very accommodating!

Loved this B&B. It was just what you picture a B&B in the north of Maine should be like. Cozy rooms with baths Floral wallpaper with overstuffed chairs.yet great cable and Wi-Fi. the big front porch with view of lobster boats in the harbor added ambience. Gail,the proprietor, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast of blueberry pancakes or French toast with fresh whipped cream and strawberries was fabulous! We highly recommend this relaxing place.

Cute little place with a comfortable bed and nice shower. Gorgeous views over the water across the street. The room had a microwave and fridge but both were tiny: fridge was big enough for a few sodas or beers. Towels smelled strongly of mildew. The washer needs a seasonal cleaning. Breakfast sounded amazing from the reviews and was a major factor in picking this place, but it’s only served starting at 8 and I had to leave for a meeting both mornings before that. I was offered coffee and toast, which was not quite the full breakfast that I’d been so excited about.

The location was excellent, however the cleanliness of our room was poor. Hadn’t been cleaned or dusted and coffee machine was unusable. Overall very disappointed as previous reviews were so positive.

I was so excited to stay at this inn even though it's almost an hour away from Arcadia National Park as it was stated to be on the harbor. It is but, there is a building/house directly in front of the inn as well as comercial usage. The room is very small. The pictures seem to indicate that there was a window seat in the room and that it was on the ground floor. The signature room is upstairs. There is a view to the left of the harbor. This room did not have a micorwave or mini fridge, or ice. As we were on the "road" I had to throw out perishables. The inn is adorable, the breakfast was great.

The entire area of the Schoodic Peninsula is a unique, welcome break from busy Acadia. Gail, our host, was a pleasure to talk to, providing us with interesting history and information of the area. The breakfasts were delicious! My only suggestion would be to consider replacing the mattress, or at least flip or rotate them, as ours was uneven and less comfortable than we would have liked. Otherwise, a wonderful place to stay that I would still recommend!

Elsa's is the exact example of an "old farm house" bed and breakfast that everyone looks for. Great, off the beaten path location, serene location and sea view, and a hostess that you just want to sit with and have coffee and home made cookies. Our room was cozy, clean and quiet - great view of the thick forest behind it.

Elsa’s Inn was fantastic! The property is located overlooking a beautiful harbor and lighthouse. The old 1800s home is charming and beautifully decorated. Extremely comfortable and inviting. Gayle made me feel so at home and relaxed. I only planned one night but stayed three. Her breakfast is not to be missed! The area is so interesting. I learned a lot about lobstering! It is a very historic area. Bed was extremely comfortable private bath excellent hot shower. It was just the perfect getaway. Thank you, Gayle! I will return and recommend.!

The outside looked very unkept. Our room had no blinds on the windows which was unusual at night and let the sunrise shine through at 5:30 am.

We loved everything about our stay. Gail was very personable and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing! Room overlooked the harbor. You could watch the fishing boats and sunrise right from your room. Perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Two-night stay. Actually, thought this was located in Bar Harbor but as it turned out preferred Prospect Harbor! Quaint and relaxing. Friendly hosts and wonderful breakfast. Just enough to start your day! We had Sarah's room and found the room size just perfect, and the bed was very comfortable.

Overall, the state was nice. A nice Gal greeted us on our arrival. The room was cute and pleasant however no window shade over the bathroom window, no garbage can to be found and a shelf above the bathroom sink made using the sink quite challenging. Breakfast in the morning was great.

Warm and knowledgeable hostess. Personally welcomed each guest and showed us to our rooms. Breakfast served between 0800-0830 so we missed it both days as we had already left for adventures at Acadia National Park which is slightly over an hour away. Smelled delicious. Recommended local restaurants with good food. View was beautiful, room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again and plan to enjoy breakfast and more conversations.

We stayed for 4 nights at Elsa’s. Gail was a wonderful host for many reasons. The room was plenty big for the two of us with a very comfortable bed and normal sized shower. The morning breakfasts and conversation was great. We were just a few miles away from Schoodic point (Acadia NP). WOW! The night before we left, someone hit our car and it was un drivable. Gail drove to where the accident happened, loaded her car with all of our stuff, then drove my wife 30 miles to the nearest urgent care. She certainly went above and beyond what most people would do. We are very grateful to her helping us in a time of need.

Elsa’s was a perfect place to rest and get away from the the crowds in Bar Harbor. The rooms and inn were kept up with care. Our host was amazing he made some of the best stuffed French toast I have ever had. The location was perfect to see the northern part of Acadia natl park, it was nice to have its so close and away from the crowds. The beds were soft and comfy and the harbor across the street was beautiful looking out from our room. Wonderfull place to stay and I would only stay at Elsa’s for any return visit!

Breakfast served between 0800-0830 so we missed it both days as we had already left for adventures at Acadia National Park which is slightly over an hour away. Smelled delicious. Gail was very nice and made good recommendations of things to do. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests. We didn’t know that the drive to Bar Harbor and Mt Desert would take over an hour when we made the reservation.

Great location for exploring the Schoodic Peninsula. Gail was a gracious host and served a tasty breakfast. The inn is conveniently located near the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park and nice restaurants in Winter Harbor.

It really wasn’t the place that was bad. It was the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere and there’s basically nothing to do there, but I guess I should’ve understood that by reading you can hike.

Place was very nice. Hotel.com and expedia do not provide accurate location to Bar Harbor Maine. 9 miles across the bay with no bridge and no ferry. It is more like 44 miles and slightly over an hour drive to get to our 6 am drive up Cadillac mtn. Would appreciate hotel.com to provide accurate info on location and not as the crow flies.

Very clean and comfortable. Gail was our precious hostess. She had a full house by herself. Her daughter was out of town. But she handled everything wonderfully. Provided a delicious breakfast 2 mornings we were there. Beautiful Inn with Prospect Bay right across the street. The only thing I would suggest is working on the landscaping a bit.

Cute little place with a comfortable bed and nice shower. Gorgeous views over the water across the street. The room had a microwave and fridge but both were tiny: fridge was big enough for a few sodas or beers. Towels smelled strongly of mildew. The washer needs a seasonal cleaning. Breakfast sounded amazing from the reviews and was a major factor in picking this place, but it’s only served starting at 8 and I had to leave for a meeting both mornings before that. I was offered coffee and toast, which was not quite the full breakfast that I’d been so excited about.

Our stay at Elsa's Inn on the Harbor was wonderful! Gail is a thoughtful, witty host who provided us with solid local recommendations and insider tips. The room is clean and filled with character. Shout-out to the Prospect Harbor Soap Company for their shampoo and hand soap! Breakfast was home-made by Gail and mouth-watering. A delightful stay in a charming spot!

Our room was comfortable, clean, quiet and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our view of the harbor and the lobster boats coming and going. Our hostess was very gracious and prepared a wonderful breakfast. She knows the area well and gave great suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Our host Gail was a fountain of knowledge of the area. Helpful with restaurant choices and local parks. Her food was exceptional and the people travelling staying at her abode were fun & entertaining. You will not be disappointed with this choice for accommodation.
