This was my second stay at a Moxy propery. Hotel and staff were great and accommodating. Rooftop bar was amazing. Just one issue I faced was the elevator. Out of 2 only 1 was working. With a rooftop bar, having only 1 elevator working there was a long wait time to use the elevator. Minor set back, definitely not a deal breaker. The location of the hotel, amenities , easy of getting there - definitely recommended.

Cool and upbeat hotel in downtown D.C. Close to everything needed, great and helpful staff. The bed were a little to hard for my taste but that’s a luxury issue. Pretty pricey for the parking as well with 60 dollar per day.

4.5 property. Only downside to my stay, which was otherwise great, was that the elevator was out for about 15 minutes in the evening, and people were stuck congregating in mass on the first floor as the stairwell doors to the upper floors were locked. That creates a potential safety hazard. Plus, I like to walk up the stairs to my room as opposed to always having to take an elevator. Lovely boutique hotel!

The rooms are much smaller than they seemed when I was booking on Expedia. And so much glass. The bed takes up most of the room. Do not take the stairs! I thought I could use the stairs, right? I ended up locked in the stairwell. Every exit door was locked. I kept frantically banging on doors to no avail. I called the front desk twice, no one picked up. By my own sheer determination I made my way through labrythine staff areas until I found a spiral wooden staircase. I go down and end up in the Parlor. That door was locked and apparently no one could assist me. Luckily, cursing under my breath, there is an exit door to the outside!!! But, yeah, lotta good the staff was. Also, pretty sure thats dangerous in the case of a fire. The lobby is huge and what they boast about, this place ain't about the actual room you are renting. Its in a convenient location, only moderately pricey, and has a hip/cool vibe. Regardless, I don't think I will be staying here again.

This is a great hotel, with knowledgeable staff that does their best to resolve issues. 5 out 5 stars. HOWEVER.. Please Please Please replace your valet company. I understand they are a third party, but they completely soiled my experience. No one is ever at the valet stand under the umbrella. They are hanging out by the bar inside or no where to be found. The day time Valet brought me my car in sport mode engaged, which tells me everything i need to know. The evening Valet guy was terrible and approached me as I was asking the front desk lady the whereabouts of the valet attendant. Save this beautiful hotel from mediocre third party companies that make you look bad!

Definitely a unique place to stay. Three restaurants to choose from. The bar has games to play like scrabble, jenga, chess, scuffle board, foosball and air hockey. The rooftop was cool too

They claimed to offer valet parking. I had to sit for 40 minutes double parked on K Street with no help from valet. When I inquired in the hotel I was told it is an outside service and that was it. I found the valet and he said it was full. He was talking to an acquaintance. He saw me double parked and never said anything. Apparently, the valet was full because all of the patron at the rooftop bar had used it all up. Nothing was saved for hotel guests. When I asked for a manager, I was told they were just bartenders and no one else was there. Being late at night in downtown DC, there were no other parking garages open. About 1 1/2 hours after checking in, I was able to find street parking about six city blocks from the hotel. You should remove the valet parking from your description and also note that off site parking is very limited in the evening.

Overall the stay was good. The hotel is in a great location. Front desk was nice and easy check in process. The room was a little small. Housekeeping was not good. There was a hair in the shower. After the first night, the bed was haphazardly made. The person just put the top sheet back on. Pillows were exactly how I left them. No garbage backs was placed in the trash bin in the bathroom. Overall not sure I would stay here again.

Cool vibe - just had a few issues. The housekeeping was terrible. The only thing they did was empty my trash - they never took my dirty towels, cleaned my room or left me any towels. I had to bring my dirty towels down to the front desk twice and request clean towels. The first time I called and they said they’d bring them right up, but after an hour I had to go down and get them. They never wiped down my sink or made my bed. If you want a cool vibe with little to no service in a great location in DC, this is the place for you. I’ll also say the fitness center was fantastic. That being said, I’ll probably pick a different hotel in the area for my next trip.

I stayed at another property in Sydney and enjoyed it, so stayed one night while in DC. Bar and downstairs area are nice. Room is basic, small, not 100% clean, no main light in the room, and woke up to construction noise. Otherwise, it was a good stay for one night, very close to convention center.

We absolutely love the concept of this hotel! The very best thing about the room is the endless number of hooks/pegs to hang our “stuff.” The common spaces are fantastic and inviting and we really liked the ironing Nhuch at the end of our hallway. No need to have an iron and an ironing board in every single hotel room. Two free drink tokens at check-in. Checkout was seamless. The room was clean and very quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

It was soooo loud! My room overlooked the trash. Everyday at 5:30am it was so loud! Plus one day they vacuumed the hall at 7 am, there was a loud bang as people drove in and out of the parking garage, you could hear people talking outside. I woke up every couple hours all night every night and I’m NOT a light sleeper! It was the least restful stay I’ve had in a hotel ever. I asked to change rooms and was told they didn’t have a quieter location. The room is so tiny only one person can really stay here. I could touch the shower from my bed. There was one small bedside table that barely fit my laptop to charge and that was the *only* surface I could put anything on in the whole room.

The overall stay was ok. Nice location. Excellent vibe. Truly a place for 20 and 30 year olds kind of place. The place is cute. Very active. The hotel is clean, no complaints. Just the size of the rooms, some are small, compact lofts. This must've been a former office building. Every space is used, very efficient size. If you don't require privacy or separation from your room & bathroom, then this hotel is for you. This is not a hotel for families with young kids.

Curtains don’t block out the street lights and if you’re on a lower floor, you’re going to hear what’s going on outside so I’d request a high floor. Outside of that, it’s what is to be expected from a moxy. Very basic and predictable which has its merits however it’s a bit of a party hotel so if you’re there for business, it may be best going for something a bit more appropriate elsewhere, particularly as there’s no desk in the room, nor any clothes storage. Otherwise, great location. A good hotel if you’re backpacking but not the best for business travel where you want to hang up your shirts etc

Started with the rude staff in the morning, waited in the lobby watching people coming in and going out for four hours, when i asked for my bags to call another hotel they said they did not see me sitting there for four hours. When they saw I was from vegas they stated that I should "know how it is." The bartenders at night were great though!

Our experience was absolutely amazing! I booked this fairly last minute and the attention to detail from the staff was outstanding. I called prior to arrival and asked if they could do anything special as we were traveling in for the USMC marathon and it happened to be my partner's birthday that weekend (and he is a veteran)! The reception staff went above and beyond - gave us a room upgrade, credit to the lobby bar, free drink tokens upon check-in, AND decorated our room with little balloons and water (they knew he was running the marathon and didn't want champagne, but they did offer that as an option). Oh and they let us check-in way early because our flight came in hours before the official check-in time. Also the location is amazing and really nice lively environment.

The toilet kept clogging, and we had to keep calling maintenance to unclog the toilet when they should have just left the plunger in our room. Maintenance took forever when we requested more towels and blankets. They never came. The hotel manager was not attentive to our needs which made this very unpleasant day. I was expecting more from a Marriott hotel.

This was a terrible experience. The system was down and I never allowed to check-in to the hotel. My girlfriend and I had drove to 5 hours to get to the hotel at 3am and we were both exhausted from long days of work and just wanted to check in and go to sleep. I understand things like this happen since everything runs off computer systems but there was no solution offered to help resolve the issue. The room was already paid for through a third party. We had stayed at the hotel a couple times before and had great experiences but this was way below minimum expectations as for an accommodations for the problem.

Originally prepaid/booked the junior suite for one evening. After checking in, and seeing our room, we were not given our junior suite. We addressed the front desk and the clerk claimed the junior suite was overbooked and gave us the next best option. We understood the mixup and requested to be properly reimbursed due to the step down of rooms. The clerk said he was “going to look into it”. When we checked out, we followed up to make sure we were properly reimbursed/charged appropriately for the room change. This clerk claimed that Expedia was in the wrong and that the junior suite was never available. In fact, we were “paying the correct price” for the room we got. It was a confusing and mismanaged situation. The hotel is nice and in a great area, however the staff customer service and managing the rooms is poor.

Well located hotel near the Walter Washington convention center (5 minutes walk). Metro is readily accessible, dining options in the area are numerous. The hotel lobby is original and the staff generally courteous. The roof top bar has excellent food (ceviche and tacos were excellent). Rooms are small (that is the concept of the hotel) but well appointed. No desk so if you need to work it may be a limitation factor. But overall comfort was good.

When I arrived staffing was limited, we had to wait a while to be checked in and for valet even though we were the only ones checking in at the moment. Over all staff was friendly at check in and the place seemed nice and clean. However day 2 we needed clean sheets and the place still seemed excessively short staffed for the amount of customers waiting to be helped. We asked for sheets and the lady said okay in a short dismissive way. We waited about 45 minutes then called the front from our room to just ask once more thinking maybe they were busy and forgot. She rudely said “yes you’ve already asked once and I told them” it took us 5 hours to receive our clean sheets. Then we noticed roaches and bugs in our room. One large alive roach crawling under our bed. The place was constantly crowded and we could hardly get in and out of the elevators and around the bar to leave the area as everyone was crowding around the front. It just created a stressful and uncomfortable experience. The purpose of my trip was to be able to relax with family for 2 days and we really just wanted somewhere we could stay in our room and relax and maybe go down to the bar for some drinks and food but with the roaches and bugs, and the lack of service and constant crowds it was not a good experience at all. I would not book here again.

I love the hotel very nice lobby with games and bar and nice staff. I wouldn’t recommend the rooftop food and service at least in our experience they took forever to bring our drinks and forgot mine waited almost 40minutes we ordered nachos and the queso was something that I can microwave at home. If you are looking for great food that’s not the place it’s more for young people looking to get drunk and have fun. Definitely not for families.

Fun hotel with a great rooftop bar. The lobby area is lively too. Room was clean and pretty spacious. Staff were great and helpful. Location is really good for breakfast spots and seeing the main sights - be prepared to walk a lot!

So cute I’d go back if I stay in DC again. I wish they had more games in the lobby and some of them were missing pieces. Moxy bar was out of a lot of ingredients. Rooftop bar is SUPER small and it was packed but it was winter so I’m sure it’s better in the summer when you can go outside. Other than that no complaints perfect for couples.

The property was perfect for a weekend getaway. The breakfast food was delicious!! Our only issue was that upon check-in, the gentleman did not inform us of how to get to rooftop bar. Also, a free breakfast buffet was advertised, but they do not have one. He did not give us our free breakfast passes, the young lady in the morning did, but only because I asked about. We would have had to pay because the initial check-in was insufficient.
