Lovely stay - rooms at the front of the hotel can be quite noisy at night because of the bars but they do provide ear plugs. Breakfast is continental but sufficient. The manager is lovely and offers any advice or tips you might be looking for. Staff are all polite and pleasant. Building itself is very clean and well kept but the bathroom did sometimes have a sulphur smell. Could be more eco friendly with the toiletries but the water and free mini bar were a lovely touch!

Great location, lovely hotel, immaculately clean. Warm welcome, very friendly & helpful staff, manager Mark gave good advice for walking in the countryside. Room very spacious & comfortable. Good selection of items for breakfast. Would benefit from a bar, although there are plenty around. Major downside for me was the nightime noise from a neighbouring bar, it was SO LOUD and on Fri/Sat/Sun nights, this noise went on until 05:30-06:00 the next morning, from people singing, shouting & screaming. Not as noisy for as long, on weekdays, maybe the bar shut earlier than on the weekend. I sleep with silicone earplugs & music still too loud to sleep for me, husband coped a bit better as he would sleep on a washing line, during a firework display, though he was kept awake too at times. Local rules/street signs say noise to be kept down after 23:00 for the locals, but this is not enforced. Really enjoyed the break though, lots to see & do across Malta/Gozo/Comino, buses good but very busy. Fast ferries & gondolas good too. Everyone out & about very friendly, good range of restaurants to eat at, English widely spoken.

The staff were nice and the hotel is beautiful but overall this is overpriced The main issue for us was the noise in our room coming from adjacent bars. There is not much to the hotel apart from a breakfast room, and the hero picture is misleading as it is a private terrace which is not accessible to most rooms We later stayed in a nicer, cheaper hotel very close

Mark and his team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was all we wanted it to be. Mark is very knowledgeable about Malta and helped us with deciding on days out. We booked room 42 with its own terrace and hot tub, which insured we had fantastic views for the NYE fireworks. Complimentary bubbly in the fridge on arrival along with snacks and soft drinks. I dont think we would change a thing. Don't be put off by the location, although very close to some noisy bars, the rooms are very sound proof and they supply earplugs as a back up, although we didn't need them. The bed was so comfortable obe of the best ive slept on and im fussy. They really think of everything you might have forgotten..Complimentary top class toiletries, shaving kit, dental kit, sewing kit, nail file, cotton buds the works. Thank you for such a magnificent stay we will be back 10/10

The hotel Is located in the center of the town, easy to walk to the ferry, bus or just enjoying the views of this amazing city. The hotel is comfortable, the staff is very professional and friendly. The only cons I have to mention is the sounds from the bars🎵 at night, it can be loud! But, the hotel will provide ear plugs😁. We had breakfast 🍳included with was great. The owner Mark is very knowledgeable about places and how to get there, definitely if you need help ask him.

É um concierge excepcional, se você ainda não tiver a programação para os dias que passar em Malta, ele organiza tudo, com dicas de quem é local. Quarto confortável, amenidades de primeira. Vale a pena.

Fijn schoon hotel. Mooie badkamer met bad. Aardig, behulpzaam personeel. Gratis gevulde minibar bij aankomst. Gratis oordopjes… Goede locatie in Valletta. Goed ontbijt. Jammer dat er in de zijstraat tot rond 1 uur luide muziek en gepraat, gezang en gegil te horen was.

We have just spent an amazing 5 nights here and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was lovely, and every member of staff went above and beyond. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are hoping to go back later in the year. Thank you to Marc and his amazing team for making our stay so lovely

Would I stay at The Barrister again?............. DEFINITELY! This small, but perfectly formed hotel was ideal for my four day stay in Valletta. Every member of staff were exceptional in their customer service, offering insider tips on where to go and see. The room was spotless and the continental style breakfast set us up for the days of sightseeing.

Lovely, clean, classy boutique style hotel within a historical building. All of the staff were fantastic and made our stay feel as though we were staying with good friends. The owner has a wealth of knowledge about Malta and the best attractions to see as well as suggestions of the best restaurants at reasonable prices. The hotel is also perfectly situated for exploring Valletta on foot. The owner and all of the staff worked hard to ensure that our stay was a memorable experience and we were made to feel valued and special.

The staff were nice and the hotel is beautiful but overall this is overpriced The main issue for us was the noise in our room coming from adjacent bars. There is not much to the hotel apart from a breakfast room, and the hero picture is misleading as it is a private terrace which is not accessible to most rooms We later stayed in a nicer, cheaper hotel very close

Mark and his team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was all we wanted it to be. Mark is very knowledgeable about Malta and helped us with deciding on days out. We booked room 42 with its own terrace and hot tub, which insured we had fantastic views for the NYE fireworks. Complimentary bubbly in the fridge on arrival along with snacks and soft drinks. I dont think we would change a thing. Don't be put off by the location, although very close to some noisy bars, the rooms are very sound proof and they supply earplugs as a back up, although we didn't need them. The bed was so comfortable obe of the best ive slept on and im fussy. They really think of everything you might have forgotten..Complimentary top class toiletries, shaving kit, dental kit, sewing kit, nail file, cotton buds the works. Thank you for such a magnificent stay we will be back 10/10

Great location, lovely hotel, immaculately clean. Warm welcome, very friendly & helpful staff, manager Mark gave good advice for walking in the countryside. Room very spacious & comfortable. Good selection of items for breakfast. Would benefit from a bar, although there are plenty around. Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr zentralen Lage der Stadt und ist besonders für Silvester- und Weihnachtsfeiern ein großartiger Ort. Obwohl man im Zimmer Musik und die Menschen von der Straße hören konnte, sogar mitten in der Nacht, war unser Zimmer im dritten Stock und hat unseren Schlaf nicht wesentlich gestört. Der Hotelbesitzer, war ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Mann. Er hat uns immer beraten, welche Orte wir besuchen sollten, besonders unter Berücksichtigung des Wetters und der aktuellen Gegebenheiten. Das Hotelpersonal, sowohl die Mitarbeiter, die das Frühstück servierten, als auch diejenigen, die die Zimmer reinigten, waren alle freundlich. Mit Ausnahme einer Frau mit dunklem Teint und langen schwarzen Haaren, die oft an der Rezeption saß und anscheinend nicht einmal Lust hatte, die Gäste zu begrüßen und zu lächeln. Der Rest des Teams war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer hat uns gefallen, und das Frühstück war insgesamt gut. Es hätte vielleicht etwas vielseitiger sein können, aber es war einfach und zufriedenstellend.

Really enjoyed my time here - spent a week and was a lovely little home base in Malta. Rooms all very thoughtfully designed with high-quality linens and toiletries. Breakfast was above and beyond relative to a boutique hotel of this size, with plenty of delicious options and an extremely attentive staff. Everyone in the hotel was very kind and welcoming, and hotel owner Mark goes out of his way to get to know his guests and provide everything they need to have a wonderful stay. If you’re looking for a chain-style hotel with silent rooms and an enormous buffet, I might look elsewhere, but if you want to stay at a lively, top-quality boutique hotel at the heart of a European city, Barrister is the place to go. I swear by Rick Steves in Europe and could definitely see this spot in his guide if he had one for Malta. The excellent ratings are well-earned.

Excellent property and staff could not be more delightful, friendly or helpful. Nothing is too much bother. Owner on site every day and mixes with guests and is always willing to improve your stay. The only minor issue is noise from surrounding cafes and bars which I found disturbing on a few nights, otherwise I doubt you could get a better place to enjoy Malta. Many suggestions of things to do and see, places to go were offered, including ferry and bus times, and my days were filled. Excellent service all round. Highly recommend.

Well located, near major attractions and restaurants Staff that goes out of their way to be helpful. We had an early flight on our last day and staff prepared breakfast packages for us to eat on the way to the airport. Another staff member helped us with online checking. Would I stay at The Barrister again?............. DEFINITELY! This small, but perfectly formed hotel was ideal for my four day stay in Valletta. Every member of staff were exceptional in their customer service, offering insider tips on where to go and see. The room was spotless and the continental style breakfast set us up for the days of sightseeing.

Street closed off. Massive Crane overhead. Bags of rubbish dumped in the doorway of the derelict building next door .Outside of hotel area very unappealing. Music from carmens club on next street was unbelievable. It was so noisy until at least 2am or maybe later , then when the music stops got to listen to the revellers for a further hour. If this is what you enjoy then this hotel will suit you .

This was a very friendly boutique hotel. Mark (the owner) and Emma (reception) gave us lots of information on what to see, and the best way to get there. The Barrister is very central, just off the Main Street. Everything in Valletta is walkable. We would definitely stay here again, so friendly The only down side was the lack of a proper shower, it was a low shower head over the bath.

Hotel and staff OK. Underwhelming breakfast options (probably because this is a small hotel). Very noisy from adjacent streets until early hours of the morning due to the number of bars playing very loud music. Impossible to sleep.

Would I stay at The Barrister again?............. DEFINITELY! This small, but perfectly formed hotel was ideal for my four day stay in Valletta. Every member of staff were exceptional in their customer service, offering insider tips on where to go and see. The room was spotless and the continental style breakfast set us up for the days of sightseeing.

Fijn schoon hotel. Mooie badkamer met bad. Aardig, behulpzaam personeel. Gratis gevulde minibar bij aankomst. Gratis oordopjes… Goede locatie in Valletta. Goed ontbijt. Jammer dat er in de zijstraat tot rond 1 uur luide muziek en gepraat, gezang en gegil te horen was.

I will first express my gratitude for the service and the positivity we felt starting from the first moment we checked in till the last minute we checked out. The room was a little small compare to the picture yet it was super clean and well organized. The personnel kept checking if we are ok and were super lovely at the restaurant in the service disk and even the cleaning service. A little issue with the noises outside since it's a very moving area in Valetta. However that is not something to really to chance my opinion if I will consider rebooking next time. Excellent place ! Thanks

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highlights We had such a great stay here! The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely, comfortable, and well-kept rooms. The location is honestly fantastic – you’re within walking distance of pretty much everything, which made it an easy and very convenient place to stay. We also really appreciated how well connected the hotel is with great restaurants in the area. The staff are happy to recommend places and can even help arrange reservations and get you a table, which was a really nice touch and made our stay even easier. Staff Experience What really stands out is the staff. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely service-minded. A special mention has to go to Olena on the night shift, who was absolutely wonderful and really went above and beyond for us. Drawback The only downside is something unfortunately outside the hotel’s control. There is a bar next door that plays surprisingly loud music, even on weekdays and seemingly without many (or any!) customers – we actually went over to check because we couldn’t quite understand where all the noise was coming from 😅 That being said, the amazing service from the staff honestly made up for the inconvenience. The hotel is clearly aware of the situation and provides guests with really good quality earplugs, which we appreciated. Overall Despite the noise from next door, we would happily stay here again. A beautiful hotel in an amazing location, with genuinely lovely people working there.

We felt very comfortable during our stay at The Barrister Hotel! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The entire team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the very beginning. We especially enjoyed chatting with Mark during breakfast, who always had great tips about the island, local places, and delicious food. Olena at reception always welcomed us with a warm smile. A big thank you also to all the other team members! Everyone was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend The Barrister Hotel and are already looking forward to coming back!
