The good beach access but if you are depending on renting umbrellas and chairs have to walk to the parking/restroom access area to rent stuff. Also the inside bar, food or kitchen were extremely good, chief came out and greeted us very nice and staff very friendly when interacting with them. The bad the whole property from pool, elevators, staff kind of winging it because no real direction, dirty bar tables we cleaned ours inside and outside to sit, dirty hallways, dirty carpet, only one stair system and we were on the opposite side of it, and etc. They charged us a resort fee and had bracelets but no one at the pool even had them on and no one checked. The hotel site says free parking which is a lie $10-15 depending on the day and they say use the sign app its not their fault for parking cost. Man the arguments you see when people are checking in, if you come early to checkin they want $80 extra. We usually do Vrbo across the street but had only 2 days so we tried but this place is not for us.

Based on other reviews, I called previously to ensure that the pool was open. That was the one amenity we definitely wanted during our stay. They told me it was. When we arrived, they told me the pool was closed and they would make that up by not charging the resort fees, which was $11. They said it would be open the next day we stayed two nights. The next night they said again it wasn’t gonna be open. They had to drain the pool. It wasn’t gonna be open for another few days. It was very disappointing because that’s the only reason I got this hotel. Secondly, the area around the outdoor bar and pet area was disgusting. For almost 2 days I just kept walking by overfilled Trash and completely overfilled dog poop bags. I finally told the people at the hotel and they said it was the restaurant’s responsibility, which is even more disturbing. Finally on the day we were leaving it was picked up, but I don’t think it would have,had I not mentioned it. It looked like it had been there for months. There’s a lot of construction debris and trash on the side, everything seems dirty and old. The windows of the ocean view room are permanently fogged up. The elevators are ridiculously tiny. The carpet is covered in tar. Everyone that was working in the pool/bar area seem to have absolutely no sense of urgency. It was very disappointing especially when it’s over $600, but basically just got a cheap dirty hotel. Stay across the street and walk like everyone else does they seem a lot nicer.

Early check in is $ 60.00. We opted to check in at the normal time (4:00) but still had to wait as our room was not ready, but did not receive a refund for the wait. The hot tub was not working and the pool is in need of some repairs. If you are looking for a quiet place in the middle of summer, this is not for you. The hotel is in need of updating overall. Not worth the price

To be honest this is probably one of the worst resorts I’ve ever been . Multiple bugs including cockroaches inside room and hallways . I don’t understand how this can be called a resort ? It’s just a normal hotel with a swimming pool and a bar at swimming pool area . The swimming pool looks very dirty with algae on concrete . You have to pay for parking .. The only good thing is the location is awesome for walking to the beach .

Our room was right above the bar. The live music and loud off-key karaoke went on until 11 p.m. We weren't notified the pool had been drained the weekend prior until the morning we were arriving - for which we were given an $11 discount! Also, late check-in time of 4 p.m. and you pay for parking. They're prioritizing the bar over the beach view and pool amenities for guests, it's even posted on their entrance sign. Restaurant is so-so - you won't get anything exactly as the description on the menu, and staff don't really seem to know why.

The biggest plus of staying at the Wyndham Corpus Christi Resort North Padre Island was the convenience. I found the restaurants and the poolside bar to be very convenient. I also loved being able to walk to the beach. Aside from those things, the hotel needs work. There is a lot of the hotel that needs renovations and upgrades. The elevators were too small and there are way too many people in the hotel for the number of elevators there are. The pool area had broken chairs and there weren't enough chairs for everyone. The pool itself was also dangerous, and I saw at least three people slip and fall in there. I don't think I'll be staying here again.

Disappointed with the overall cleanliness and condition of the hotel. The floors, bedding, and tub were noticeably dirty, and the bathroom was in serious need of maintenance. Staff response was slow throughout the stay. Elevator felt unreliable and the hallways were in desperate need of carpet cleaning. The TV had limited or non-functioning channels. On the bright side, the AC worked well and the noise level was manageable—but unfortunately, those were the only positives. Parking is tight.

The building itself was dirty. The corporate and the hall was disgusting. The elevator floor was filthy. The floor beside one of the beds had obviously not been swept. I heard other people walking around the lobby complaining about the filth and there was a lady who brought in pictures of her room, saying how dirty it was. I was very embarrassed to bring my friend here.

This property was once really nice, and while the lobby has been mostly maintained, the same cannot be said about the floors above. The corridors are dark, the carpet is stained, and the walls even have marks all over them as well as some poorly repaired holes. Our rooms had hair in one of the beds, holes in the walls of a bathtub, dank and musty smells. We felt nothing like we did on our previous trip 5 years earlier. The draw of this location is that it is right on the beach. But it is not worth it. We'd much rather drive some distance than to return here in its present condition. In addition, we were there as hurricane Beryl was approaching. Even after the city issued an emergency evacuation, the hotel was refusing to let guests check out without charging them the full cost. When we questioned why that was, a staff member told us that the owner ordered staff to stay on the premises during the hurricane or they would be removed from the schedule and go unpaid for several weeks. We were fortunate to have paid for the insurance through Expedia so that we could be rebooked at a safe location inland. We hated that others were not so lucky, especially the staff who need their jobs. This is truly the first negative review we have ever left for a property. We are usually very understanding of the struggle it can be to serve guests day in and day out. But we will never come back to this location. Even if they improved the facilities, we wouldn't want to profit that owner.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room looks dirty. The restroom tub is moldy, our floors look like they haven’t been cleaned. The hallway on floor 3 carpet is horrible, there’s stains and a bad smell. When I asked for extra sheets for the sofa bed, they said no one was available. This is a hotel, hospitality should be #1 priority. I would never recommend this hotel.

We went down at 7:06 am chairs were still on top of tables. We asked he asked an employee why the restaurant was not open and he said servers were not available they had not arrived to work.

The property is in need of repairs & updates in the elevators, hallways, and rooms. We appreciate that we were moved to another room due to our room being very humid, with very wet floors & mold or mildew on lamp shades & the grout around tub & sink. Although the new room was so much better, the mirror light & oulet in the bathroom did not work. I hope improvements & repairs will be made soon.

This has been the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed for four days and our room was cleaned once. They only made the bed and took the towels that we left on the floor. The room was never swept and trash was neven taken out. The hallway carpet was never vacumed, I know this because there were pieces of trash and even dog food on the carpet the entire time. The sofa in our room was stained and so was the one in the lobby.

Hotel looks and feels very run down, elevators feel like they’re going to break and are very small for how big the hotel is, and AC in the room does not cool down the room. Room was not very clean and there was sand all over the floor, we notified staff and they told us “that must be inconvenient for you”. Only good thing about this hotel is the beach front and the restaurant in it. That’s it.

We had a great stay! From check-in to check-out, the experience was just right. The staff was amazing, the room was clean and cool, with plenty of towels, coffee, etc. The only thing was the room was dark & the lights dim, which is annoying in the bathroom getting ready. We'll be back!

The only thing I didn’t like was that we could hear the people next door talking sneezing coughing and using the microwave… so expensive for a room to hear all that.. and the big trucks in the parking lot took up 2 parking spaces.. this is my 2nd time here.. our first time was excellent!!

The sliding bathroom door did not stay closed lending to zero privacy when using the restroom or showering. The handle to turn the water on and to control the water temperature in the shower broke off when attempting to bathe. There was no sink stopper to actually bathe but the water temp was not able to be consistently regulated due to the handle breaking and in disrepair.
The sliding bathroom door did not stay closed lending to zero privacy when using the restroom or showering. Our room was right above the bar. The live music and loud off-key karaoke went on until 11 p.m. We weren't notified the pool had been drained the weekend prior until the morning we were arriving - for which we were given an $11 discount! Also, late check-in time of 4 p.m. and you pay for parking. They're prioritizing the bar over the beach view and pool amenities for guests, it's even posted on their entrance sign. Restaurant is so-so - you won't get anything exactly as the description on the menu, and staff don't really seem to know why.

This place really shows its age. Wheelchair friendly room really wasn’t. Barely room to get around and height of bed made it very difficult to get on. Beds were more comfortable than other reviews had stated. Loved how close it was to the beach.

The biggest issue was the AC never cooled. It was very uncomfortable during the night. The hotel is kind of old and shows a lot of wear and tear. The restaurant had more of a twin peaks vibe, not exactly family friendly. But, the location was great. Easy beach access. The staff was friendly. Not a terrible experience but I would not stay here again.

Paid extra for ocean view. The wind howled through the balcony door very loudly. Hard to sleep with wind noise all night. Check out staff was not friendly. Pool towels are so worn and crunchy, you do not want to use them!

Horrible experience checking in. Waited in the lobby for over an hour and a half after check in for my room to be ready. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and the two associates in the front desk said no there wasn’t one, then I asked for some sort of supervisor number or someone to speak to regarding this inconvenience they still said there was no one. Very disappointed with this stay. Will not be staying here again.

Our stay was OK. I’d certainly rate it higher, except for the fact that staff was very limited. Considering that the hotel was sold out, there was only one person at the front desk. This poor girl was overwhelmed and overworked. They should really make an effort to have at least two people at the front desk at any given time. At no fault of her own she dealt with many stressful situations with an abundance of grace.

I ended up being checked in by someone who was NOT a front desk worker. She was making phone calls about issues with specific rooms when I got there and did not look presentable like the other front desk worker as she had messy hair, was wearing a dirty Carhartt shirt and had no name tag. I had done the pre check in, which says that it will “save time” at check in. So I was surprised when I had to do all the things I had already done on there. She didn’t know how to do something simple and is a common thing I do a lot (switch card for incidentals to be different from one used for reservation). She had to ask for help and I heard her tell him to please help her after he was done with that customer. I waited patiently for him to finish up and then he proceeded to take the next person in line which was the person standing behind me in line. I said “excuse me I thought he was going to come help you after that person, he’s helping the person who was behind me now?” which was the start of her rude behavior. She continued to be more and more rude with me asking simple questions about check in process and the pre-check in and what the point of it was and eventually threatened to cancel my reservation, again for asking questions. She then refused to give her name “for security reason” even though the other person was wearing a name tag. When we checked in we were early, there was a very rude customer who insisted that he be allowed to check in early, Isabella was trying to explain the room wasn’t ready and she kept trying to work with him, she was so pleasant and polite and patient with him, he was not a nice man!! She’s a true professional in a very difficult circumstance. Isabella greeted us with a smile and helped us check in and each morning with a smile. I’m a retired retail manager and know dealing with the public is not easy, we were extremely impressed with Isabella. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share.

The coffee bar in the morning wasn't stocked, and the garbages were over flowing.

At check in they gave us a key to an occupied room. After over an hour they cleared it and cleaned the same room and gave it to us. The previous occupant showed up at 11pm. The shower head was broken, reported and never fixed. The sofa bed was stained with no linen. The room was never cleaned nor the towels replaced the 3 days we were there I had to go get my linen and towels from the front desk. Over all it was very stressful when it was supposed to be a relaxing weekend

Check in was a disaster. Girl was very rude. I was told to return around 5 PM even though check-in time is 4 PM. The lady behind me in line was given a room. I am a Wyndham member with a Wyndham Visa card. We had booked a three night stay, room was never cleaned. After two nights it was not cleaned even though we were assured it would be. We left the property at 7:00 AM on Thursday morning. As we boarded the elevator for the final time, only to find a puddle of urine on the floor. Location, location, location! The property was beachfront and one of the best locations on north padre island. Other than that, the hotel was very average. The rooms, hallways, and lobby seemed dirty and had a stench. Also, the property was too open to the public. I would like the property to be more secure and private with room key access—I think that made the common areas more dirty and worn. But for the price, it was an acceptable stay.

We chose this property because it was on the beach. The beavh is not private though. Everyday the beach was full of cars and people. We had a hard time finding a spot to claim on the sand and ended up going down the road to the National Seashore reserve and paying to be on a less crowded beach. The property itself was in disarray. Tiles were uneven and many were broken, there was tape holding things together, the windows and rooms were filthy, the carpet in the hall was full of stains. There was lots of deferred maintenance. the over all condition of the building was that of a 1 or 2 star hotel. The hotel also charges for everythg on top of the room price. There were beach loungers but you had to pay for them. There was parking, but you had to pay an additional fee for that. Then there was a "breakfast" but it costs $13 a person and was nothing more than what most properties offer as a free continental breakfast. My family and I travel often; we usually stay in IHG or Marriott properties. We gave the Wyndham a chance because of its location. We will definitely not make the mistake of staying at one of these properties again.

The only thing this place has going for it is location. It is on the seawall. Great views from oceanfront balconies. If you want a old weathered room with fresh paint on the beach this is for you. Includes nothing, everything is an extra charge, minimal service available. Steps from the beach, that is all.

Great location. Needs to be upgraded. It is hard for a hotel to maintain their facilities when you are right on the beach. The salt air takes a real toll on the property. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Having to pay for parking was a real bummer.

This hotel is in poor condition, bathroom was dirty and in poor condition. I was afraid of a pipe breaking when trying to switch from bath to shower when I was cleaning the tub. The walls are peeling around the elevator doors, no breakfast is offered. Since it’s no longer part of the hotel. I have stayed in way better for a lot cheaper.

Nice beach hotel. Location is perfect. Live music was great. We went on a very busy holiday weekend so the hotel was very busy. The hotel restaurant was excellent as well. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner which is very convenient. Hit and miss with staff. Our room toilet wouldn't flush and when we told the front desk she asked my husband if he wanted a a plunger? Usually the hotelneould send someone but we had to plunge it ourselves. Other than that a great stay.

Start with the good - the restaurant and bar are GREAT and the staff were very friendly. Other than these positives, the property needs quite a bit of maintenance. We were looking forward to spending a day at the pool but it was filthy and there were only a couple of chairs that weren’t broken. The elevators in the hotel are VERY small and barely fit a hotel cart and a person so there was usually a line for the elevators. The rooms are laid out well and the space was good but we could hear EVERYTHING going on in the hallways and rooms next door - all the partying, screaming kids, barking dogs, and slamming doors. Lastly, we knew were going to have to pay $10 a night to park BUT that doesn’t guarantee you a parking space. We prepaid for 3 days when we arrived but after coming back to the hotel after dinner Saturday night, the parking lot was completely full. Oh, and there really isn’t a convenient pet area due to sections of the deck being closed off right now. The pet area is only accessible from the beachside seawall which is a hike for smaller pups.

I’m a Hilton girl typically. Today, for the first time, I made a solo trip to the beach. I come to the beach 6 times a year typically but never alone. Because of that I decided to stay on the beach for safety and convenience (Whitecap instead of my usual PINS). So far so good overall. Unhappy with the pool towel checkout. I’m sorry, but that’s ghetto. You check them out, without much time and no late checkout given (that part I totally get - it’s busy this time of year). But if you don’t come down to the front desk and turn them in 15 mins after the pool opens, they charge you $5. Crazy. I should be able to leave them in my room. I’m checked in….No kind of complimentary breakfast also falls short for me. HOWEVER, I tried Anchor Bar attached to the hotel (again-convenience) and the staff were very sweet, attentive and my food was good: salmon with hollandaise, spinach and loaded potatoes. I would order that again.

We had the temp set to 75/76 (we are old and any colder would have been unbearable) and when we woke up everything was very damp. The floor looked like it had just been mopped. The windows, mirrors, table, clothes, etc were all damp. It needed a humidifier very badly. For it being a Wyndham, I would have assumed it (like 95% of most hotels) had a continental breakfast, especially for as much as I paid. I stayed across the street at the Hawthorne by Wyndham a year ago and paid about $50 less a night and it was much better, and had a continental breakfast. It was the worst Wyndham I have ever stayed at and will no stay at this one or recommend this particular one to anyone. The staff was very courteous and very pleasant.

The hotel is a bit weathered as it is right on the beach but don't let that be a deterant. The balcony room we had looked right over the Gulf and the view was spectacular! The only restaurant provided good meals as well. The bar outside by the pool was happening, good fun and friendly people. We also were fortunate to see the lunar eclipse on our last night, unbelievable! We will most likely return for something there in the future.
