We enjoyed our stay but there were several things that were not up to the standard I would have expected for what we paid. This was an overpriced stay hiding behind trendy black and red Nordic branding. -They charged a cleaning fee when we checked out. I must’ve missed this when booking but it was an unpleasant surprise, especially for a place that wasn’t very clean. -The latrines up by the tents flushed and had running water but they were always dirty with no paper towels, over flowing trash, and no TP one morning -The matches provided were horrible. They wouldn’t stay lit and it took me ~15 of them to finally get one lit long enough to start the fire. We ended up buying a lighter the next day -The enamel cups provided in the tent were rusty and chipping paint. When I brought them to the lodge for a replacement they got me new ones but not even a “sorry about that!” -Their communication said we needed to arrive by 8:30 pm for a ride to our tent. We arrived at 8 and while the person at the desk was very nice she joked that we were lucky because she usually leaves at 8. I guess we were lucky! -The gas stove provided didn’t work. I’ve used stoves like this a lot in my life so I don’t think I was doing it wrong. The bed was comfy and we had a nice time but this isn’t a luxury experience. For what we paid I was expecting more. Next time we’ll either go camping or stay in a hotel.

This was the coolest find! Brand new beautiful little luxury camping compound nestled in the woods off Lake Superior. We were only able to stay one night with our twin babies but we all loved it and have plans to return! The bathroom/shower facilities are stunning and have everything you need. Cute little barrel saunas outside the main lodge which also has a rooftop lounge. the campsite has everything you need to cook/eat dinner on the fire. Having a tent and bedding and everything set up upon arrival is the way to go (especially with infants). Lighted lamps and great power supply in the tent. We can’t say enough good things about this place- they really thought of everything! Only complaints would be that they are difficult to get a hold of by phone/email at the main office and didn’t hear anything regarding check-in or directions after booking which was a bit nerve wracking since it was a new property. And it would be so worth spraying the property for mosquitos. BRING BUG SPRAY and a mosquito net for the bed. I know it’s northern MN woods but man they are bad back there after a good rain. Hoping to return in the fall!

Such an awesome place to unplug and get away from the daily grind. This place spared no expense to make your stay comfortable. Very nice mattresses and everything furnished in these tents are of very high quality from the break smokeless fire pit to the lanterns they let you use. And the Jackery for power they let use is also just enough for 1-2 nights but they will replace it when the charge is low. Awesome staff

Overall the property was fun. We enjoyed our cabin and the fire pit next to it. We also enjoyed the sauna near the lodge. The bed was extremely comfortable and the jackery power bank had plenty of power. The tents are close to each other, but not too close. I thought the communication wasn't great. When we arrived between the given hours no one was there to greet us. We waited about 20mins for someone to show up and that was after calling the provided numbers and not getting an answer. This also occurred when our propane tank that heated the canvas tent went out. They did end up taking care of it, however it took me texting, making a few phone calls and hunting someone down before anything happened. It wasn't until my third phone call that I even got a call back and this was over a few hours of trying to get in touch with them. The only other thing was the restroom situation. the Showers and restrooms at the lodge were great, but if you have to go the bathroom in the middle of the night like my wife does then it's a trek to find one. I think there should be a few more bathroom options off the trails for the cabins to use.

I’m giving this an overall four stars because we loved the concept. Actual execution was two-stars. It is possible that this was due to being late in the season (we stayed mid-September). The staff seemed distracted during check in and forgot to tell us we needed to schedule a pick up for check out. Fortunately, I thought to ask about checkout. The tent was awesome and we loved the campsite. Many of the promised items were either broken or missing. We only had one working lantern and no working flashlights and the coffee supplies had not been re-stocked. When we walked back to the office, we were given two more working lanterns. The bathroom closest to our tent stopped flushing late at night and the sink had no running water. We decided to hike out in the morning rather than wait for our ride. When we got to the office, I went to take a shower but there were no towels available (staff said the dryer wasn’t working) and the soap was not stocked. We were disappointed with the overall experience. I am hopeful that this is not the typical experience. If we visited the area again, I would consider giving them a second chance.

What a fantastic place to stay! The “tent” was large, cozy, and cleaner than most hotel rooms. The heater kept us warm all night. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Amenities such as dishes, first aid supplies, and flashlights were available in our “tent”. Restrooms were spacious with toilet, sink, and shower. Towels were available. There are even some saunas to enjoy. However the best thing is the fact that it is very dog friendly! Our dogs really enjoyed getting to go on vacation with us.

Absolutely magical. North Shore Camping Co. is our new favorite place to getaway. It was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort. The tälts were so cool - stylish, cozy, and well thought-out. The amenities were top-notch, and the beautifully lit paths at night made the whole experience feel like a dream. We’re from a northern suburb of Minneapolis and already planning to come back regularly. This place made us fall in love with the Boreal forest and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Superior. Highly recommend!

The staff bent over backwards to help and answer questions. It was glamping so there were some obvious compromises. However, you could shower at the base camp in a separate bathroom with a sink. The base camp for us was a 7 minute walk down a mountain.

My daughter and I booked a spur of the moment stay at North Shore Camping Co and we had such an amazing time! This place has thought of everything you could possibly need for a wildness experience, with a touch of glamping! It was clean and peaceful, nestled amongst the beautiful forest of the North Shore. We felt like we were staying in a tree house. I can’t wait to visited again!!

Found this place while looking for dog friendly lodging while on a road trip. Did not disappoint. They don’t charge ridiculous fees for dogs, in fact, they charge nothing! Every single employee here was genuinely friendly and helpful. The lodging was very nice and the beds were so comfortable. The showers were in the main building and everything was very clean and well taken care of. We will be back and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, but doesn’t always want all the work that can come with camping.

The cabin was well appointed, if there was anything you needed it forgot from home the office got it for you. Staff was really friendly. The cabins/ Talts we’re so clean and so cozy. The only downside is that you could hear a fair amount of car traffic from Highway 61, did not bother my husband or my son. I was just very aware of it.

The talt bunk 12 is amazing but I was surprised by the the Highway sound/cars. Which it take a bit away from the off the grid/camping experience. Otherwise it was awesome to have the lodge showers & all the amenities glamping. Vs tent and no showers. - I recommend more then 1 night so you have time to use the Cove Resort pool & more time to soak it all in on the North Shore.

I'm not a camper, but I had a wonderful experience here!! The tent itself is really nice with a great comfortable bed. Staff was really friendly. Terrain was rough to get to the bathroom and to walk to my uphill room. But if you like "glamping" I highly recommend this establishment!!

Amazing and unique! We absolutely would recommend staying here! Clean and safe camping in the wilderness but with the comfort of home. The staff was welcoming and so incredible with us and Murphy our new puppy! The bed was so comfortable while falling asleep with the sounds of nature. A relaxing complimentary happy hour overlooking the lake they’ve thought of everything to enjoy your stay. Just show up and it’s all there right down to salt & pepper for dinner..towels, shampoo soap and hair dryers to shower bedding, lanterns and plenty of cooking supplies! They make it easy to travel and enjoy your vacation. The location could not be better to visit all the beautiful sights of the north shore. We can’t say enough about this camping spot except thank you for an amazing experience and great summer memories! We will be back!!!!

Such an awesome place to unplug and get away from the daily grind. This place spared no expense to make your stay comfortable. Very nice mattresses and everything furnished in these tents are of very high quality from the break smokeless fire pit to the lanterns they let you use. And the Jackery for power they let use is also just enough for 1-2 nights but they will replace it when the charge is low. Awesome staff

What a unique "camping" experience. We very much enjoyed our short stay, just 1 night. Base camp staff was helpful and responsive. The only thing I would have added was a fan. But I fully realize that the heat over Labor Day was atypical for the area.

What a fantastic place to stay! The “tent” was large, cozy, and cleaner than most hotel rooms. The heater kept us warm all night. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Amenities such as dishes, first aid supplies, and flashlights were available in our “tent”. Restrooms were spacious with toilet, sink, and shower. Towels were available. There are even some saunas to enjoy. However the best thing is the fact that it is very dog friendly! Our dogs really enjoyed getting to go on vacation with us.

Absolutely magical. North Shore Camping Co. is our new favorite place to getaway. It was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort. The tälts were so cool - stylish, cozy, and well thought-out. The amenities were top-notch, and the beautifully lit paths at night made the whole experience feel like a dream. We’re from a northern suburb of Minneapolis and already planning to come back regularly. This place made us fall in love with the Boreal forest and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Superior. Highly recommend!

The cabin was well appointed, if there was anything you needed it forgot from home the office got it for you. Staff was really friendly. The cabins/ Talts we’re so clean and so cozy. The only downside is that you could hear a fair amount of car traffic from Highway 61, did not bother my husband or my son. I was just very aware of it.

We enjoyed our stay but there were several things that were not up to the standard I would have expected for what we paid. This was an overpriced stay hiding behind trendy black and red Nordic branding. -They charged a cleaning fee when we checked out. I must’ve missed this when booking but it was an unpleasant surprise, especially for a place that wasn’t very clean. -The latrines up by the tents flushed and had running water but they were always dirty with no paper towels, over flowing trash, and no TP one morning -The matches provided were horrible. They wouldn’t stay lit and it took me ~15 of them to finally get one lit long enough to start the fire. We ended up buying a lighter the next day -The enamel cups provided in the tent were rusty and chipping paint. When I brought them to the lodge for a replacement they got me new ones but not even a “sorry about that!” -Their communication said we needed to arrive by 8:30 pm for a ride to our tent. We arrived at 8 and while the person at the desk was very nice she joked that we were lucky because she usually leaves at 8. I guess we were lucky! -The gas stove provided didn’t work. I’ve used stoves like this a lot in my life so I don’t think I was doing it wrong. The bed was comfy and we had a nice time but this isn’t a luxury experience. For what we paid I was expecting more. Next time we’ll either go camping or stay in a hotel.

This was the coolest find! Brand new beautiful little luxury camping compound nestled in the woods off Lake Superior. We were only able to stay one night with our twin babies but we all loved it and have plans to return! The bathroom/shower facilities are stunning and have everything you need. Cute little barrel saunas outside the main lodge which also has a rooftop lounge. the campsite has everything you need to cook/eat dinner on the fire. Having a tent and bedding and everything set up upon arrival is the way to go (especially with infants). Lighted lamps and great power supply in the tent. We can’t say enough good things about this place- they really thought of everything! Only complaints would be that they are difficult to get a hold of by phone/email at the main office and didn’t hear anything regarding check-in or directions after booking which was a bit nerve wracking since it was a new property. And it would be so worth spraying the property for mosquitos. BRING BUG SPRAY and a mosquito net for the bed. I know it’s northern MN woods but man they are bad back there after a good rain. Hoping to return in the fall!

Our stay at North Shore Camping Co was absolutely unforgettable—we’re completely hooked now! The staff went above and beyond in every possible way. They didn’t just think of everything we might need… they thought of things we never would’ve expected. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and they even brought us extra blankets and hot water bottles on those chilly nights. It was truly the perfect experience—we can’t wait to go back!

Overall the property was fun. We enjoyed our cabin and the fire pit next to it. We also enjoyed the sauna near the lodge. The bed was extremely comfortable and the jackery power bank had plenty of power. The tents are close to each other, but not too close. I thought the communication wasn't great. When we arrived between the given hours no one was there to greet us. We waited about 20mins for someone to show up and that was after calling the provided numbers and not getting an answer. This also occurred when our propane tank that heated the canvas tent went out. They did end up taking care of it, however it took me texting, making a few phone calls and hunting someone down before anything happened. It wasn't until my third phone call that I even got a call back and this was over a few hours of trying to get in touch with them. The only other thing was the restroom situation. the Showers and restrooms at the lodge were great, but if you have to go the bathroom in the middle of the night like my wife does then it's a trek to find one. I think there should be a few more bathroom options off the trails for the cabins to use.

I’m giving this an overall four stars because we loved the concept. Actual execution was two-stars. It is possible that this was due to being late in the season (we stayed mid-September). The staff seemed distracted during check in and forgot to tell us we needed to schedule a pick up for check out. Fortunately, I thought to ask about checkout. The tent was awesome and we loved the campsite. Many of the promised items were either broken or missing. We only had one working lantern and no working flashlights and the coffee supplies had not been re-stocked. When we walked back to the office, we were given two more working lanterns. The bathroom closest to our tent stopped flushing late at night and the sink had no running water. We decided to hike out in the morning rather than wait for our ride. When we got to the office, I went to take a shower but there were no towels available (staff said the dryer wasn’t working) and the soap was not stocked. We were disappointed with the overall experience. I am hopeful that this is not the typical experience. If we visited the area again, I would consider giving them a second chance.

Was not aware you need to park down below where the check in point. The an ATV will all your stuff to the location where you would be Glam camping. It is a hike up and very extremely rocks all over, not very much green landscape, besides the trees. Our text was clean, nice beds, however we were told after 8pm there is no one on duty, and to call 911 if we had an emergency. Noticing there would be much of hiking to do just to get to the bathroom and showers. We ended up leaving. This is a good place for healthy adventures hikers.

Found this place while looking for dog friendly lodging while on a road trip. Did not disappoint. They don’t charge ridiculous fees for dogs, in fact, they charge nothing! Every single employee here was genuinely friendly and helpful. The lodging was very nice and the beds were so comfortable. The showers were in the main building and everything was very clean and well taken care of. We will be back and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, but doesn’t always want all the work that can come with camping.

This is a great campground and i love how dog friendly they are! The glamping tents were very clean and comfortable. The only thing that wasnt great was the washed out muddy paths and the fact that it was a 10ish minute walk from our tent back to our car and the main lodge. No cars allowed back by the tents. Otherwise all in all it was a great experience!

The staff bent over backwards to help and answer questions. It was glamping so there were some obvious compromises. However, you could shower at the base camp in a separate bathroom with a sink. The base camp for us was a 7 minute walk down a mountain.

We loved our stay here. This was our second time. It is truly glamping. Tents are warm, beds are comfy, the little details of games, bear box filled with all the cooking supplies, happy hours, sauna and games available. Such an epic experience. We loved our stay here. This was our second time. It is truly glamping. Tents are warm, beds are comfy, the little details of games, bear box filled with all the cooking supplies, happy hours, sauna and games available. Such an epic experience. This was the coolest find! Brand new beautiful little luxury camping compound nestled in the woods off Lake Superior. We were only able to stay one night with our twin babies but we all loved it and have plans to return! The bathroom/shower facilities are stunning and have everything you need. Cute little barrel saunas outside the main lodge which also has a rooftop lounge. the campsite has everything you need to cook/eat dinner on the fire. Having a tent and bedding and everything set up upon arrival is the way to go (especially with infants). Lighted lamps and great power supply in the tent. We can’t say enough good things about this place- they really thought of everything! Only complaints would be that they are difficult to get a hold of by phone/email at the main office and didn’t hear anything regarding check-in or directions after booking which was a bit nerve wracking since it was a new property. And it would be so worth spraying the property for mosquitos. BRING BUG SPRAY and a mosquito net for the bed. I know it’s northern MN woods but man they are bad back there after a good rain. Hoping to return in the fall!

Amazing and unique! We absolutely would recommend staying here! Clean and safe camping in the wilderness but with the comfort of home. The staff was welcoming and so incredible with us and Murphy our new puppy! The bed was so comfortable while falling asleep with the sounds of nature. A relaxing complimentary happy hour overlooking the lake they’ve thought of everything to enjoy your stay. Just show up and it’s all there right down to salt & pepper for dinner..towels, shampoo soap and hair dryers to shower bedding, lanterns and plenty of cooking supplies! They make it easy to travel and enjoy your vacation. The location could not be better to visit all the beautiful sights of the north shore. We can’t say enough about this camping spot except thank you for an amazing experience and great summer memories! We will be back!!!!

If you're looking for a great glamping experience-this is it! Each cabin is fairly secluded. But outfitted with just about everything you would need. The bed was fantastic-would love to know the brand-so comfy! We cooked out at night and had most everything we needed. We brought our own pokers for hot dogs and smores-bring that if you can, as I didn't see them in the supplies. But otherwise, we were good. They have wonderful showers, along with toilets at the base lodge. My biggest recommendation would be if you're not staying at one of the closer cabins, get yourself a bucket, or something for you to piddle in. At least for the ladies! Its a bit of a walk to jaunt down if you just need to go quick, and for the morning too. But they did state they are considering a pit bathroom for these further away cabins, which would be great! Just in the meantime, consider yourself warned. lol My other recommendations, a box of Kleenex and maybe a bottle of hand sanitizer would come in handy. But no biggie overall. We loved our stay and will definitely be planning a return trip, along with recommending it to friends. Enjoy your glamping experience friends!

fun glamping spot! Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great environment. I'd say it is a overpriced but that feels true for a lot of things in peak season on the North Shore. You can also hear the traffic all night--its not terrible but not a quiet spot, its about 1/2 mile from highway 61. Make sure you make a plan for breakfast *if you aren't making it. It's a little hard to find a place. Note, the bathrooms are a walk down the hill and they don't have outlets if you want to straighten your hair--they do have blow dryers though! Friendly, beautiful spot.

What a fantastic place to stay! The “tent” was large, cozy, and cleaner than most hotel rooms. The heater kept us warm all night. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Amenities such as dishes, first aid supplies, and flashlights were available in our “tent”. Restrooms were spacious with toilet, sink, and shower. Towels were available. There are even some saunas to enjoy. However the best thing is the fact that it is very dog friendly! Our dogs really enjoyed getting to go on vacation with us.

Absolutely magical. North Shore Camping Co. is our new favorite place to getaway. It was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort. The tälts were so cool - stylish, cozy, and well thought-out. The amenities were top-notch, and the beautifully lit paths at night made the whole experience feel like a dream. We’re from a northern suburb of Minneapolis and already planning to come back regularly. This place made us fall in love with the Boreal forest and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Superior. Highly recommend!

This was definitely the happy medium for us, getting the camping experience without having to bring all the supplies ourselves! We loved our campsite up the hill, it was private and had all we needed to enjoy cooking over the fire and relaxing between hiking adventures. Super friendly staff too!

A bit pricey, but accommodations were very unique and well maintained. No facilities in room but we managed. Shower/bathroom facilities were good. It was fun staying in this place. Very unique. Would stay there again if traveling though the area.

Great site, but they checked us in and we walked up to our site with luggage in hand (ATV not available) just to find room not ready or clean. No warning cabin wasn’t ready. Had to wait outside with luggage for an hour. When we booked it said private beach 100 yards away. There was no beach close. You had to walk 20 minutes and across a busy street to get there. We had no Starter cubes for fire or dishes or paper towels as advertised. ATV to come back down was 1 seat avail (had to sit on laps if you were small enough)! Previous person who rented put out fireplace in the unit with water so we couldn’t start fire- staff clearly didn’t clean that out or check it. So if all this didn’t go wrong - it would have been a good trip. Sadly our short trip was disappointing.

They didn’t just think of everything we might need… they thought of things we never would’ve expected. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and they even brought us extra blankets and hot water bottles on those chilly nights. It was truly the perfect experience—we can’t wait to go back!
