We had a small youth group in-town for a competition and needed somewhere close to the venue that could accommodate four students to a room. Not only was the Residence Inn within ten minutes of the venue and had rooms to accommodate four people: it checked off so many other boxes we didn’t expect. Both the studio and one-bedroom suite were clean and incredibly spacious with fully equipped kitchens, including a dual freezer/fridge, counter stovetop and sink, microwave, toaster, and even a small dishwasher. The hotel also provided cabinets stocked with dishes, bowls, cups, silverware, and a cutting board, complete with complimentary dish soap, detergent, and a sponge. Both rooms included a nice walk-in showers, desk space with a roller chair, dual USB/110 outlets on the night stand, comfortable couches long and soft enough to serve as a third bed, and TV’s equipped with cable and streaming capabilities (a lifesaving feature when traveling with teenagers). The one bedroom-two queen bed suite also included a four-chair dining table, plus an additional TV and dresser. The kids loved the pool, workout room and free breakfast, which included an array of options, like waffles, sausage, oatmeal, and scrambled eggs. The Location was also a huge asset, with several nearby restaurants, an Aldi’s to help stock the fridge, and two minute drive east to I-71. Overall, the kids said this was the nicest hotel they’d ever stayed at, and as the adult, I can’t disagree. Book it now if you can!
