I liked the salt water pool.

Well, upon check-in on Friday afternoon 11/10, the front desk lady was sitting looking bored checked me in, didnt give info on hotel breakfast, internet or even where elevator was located. My first time there, so I thought ok no big deal. Got to room, it had full kitchen w a dishwasher! So I opened it...dirty dishes in it. Was unpacking Tried to get TV to work & couldnt, no big deal I was getting ready to meet my family so I could figure that out later. Get back to hotel around 730pm. Still cant get TV to work. Called front desk to explain what was happeneng with TV to a different girl than from check in She tells me "unplug everything behind it and plug it back in, it will work". Ok I try that, nope. Didnt work. I call down again and it rang with a quick pick up of my call and immediate hang up. So I call again. She answers, I explain it didnt work, she says "you must not have done what I told you to because that always works" umm yes I did "well you're not getting it fixed tonight" umm. SoI questioned "so I have dirty dishes in the dishwasher and a TV that doesnt work?" She says "that is a housekeeping problem, NOT MINE" and hung up on me I'm in my pajamas, pissed & watched Netflix on my phone til I went to sleep. I was told the next morning "we do not have a manager on site until Monday" so I was totally disappointed all around with that hotel. Expensive and poor service all around. Oh and the pool area had used towels & fast food all over it.

The stay was amazing, from the staff to the facilities it was an all around great stay!

Clean and safe

I was so excited to stay at a Marriott however this was not a great experience. We did not have a working toilet. We were not offered a new room or a discount. But we were offered a toilet plunger. I have never had an experience like this in any hotel. The staff who greeted us was made aware and the staff on departure was made aware.

The property was clean, well lit and the staff was lovely. We enjoyed our stay!

There are other hotels in the area that offer the same thing for less. We were in Edwardsville for a wedding and stayed there only because other family was there and they said the same thing. The shower floor was slippery and black mold was growing in the shower floor corners.

The property is not quiet at all. You hear constant road traffic and the walls are paper thin. Guest tvs blare all night and it sounds like a heard of elephants are in the room above you. Don’t plan to sleep if you stay here. The hotel also will not help you out at all if you book through a third party system (Expedia). Never staying here again.

The bed was SO comfortable - welcomed after a long day of driving.

Very nice and comfortable room. Very spacious with dining table and small kitchen. We really liked having the dining table after eating in restaurants for over a week it was nice to have a quiet dinner at a table. Room was very quiet even though we were right by elevators. Plenty of good breakfast options.

I recently stayed at TownePlace and had a very disappointing experience at check-in that I feel needs to be addressed. I had booked three rooms in advance through a third-party site, but upon arrival, the front desk agent, Philip, only checked us in for two rooms, claiming the third room had already been checked in by someone else. We later found out that a family member—who had arrived earlier—booked a separate room because they were told they couldn’t check in under my reservation. I asked Philip if there was any way we could access the third room. Instead of helping, he flatly said we would have to pay their current rates and that even if there was an issue with the third-party booking, it wasn’t their problem. He refused to review the confirmation numbers I had on hand and kept repeating himself in a dismissive tone. When I asked if the reservation might be under a different name (as sometimes third-party systems split names), he continued with an attitude, saying things like, “Why would you book under a different name?” I explained that I hadn’t, but that the system may have used my maiden name for one room and my married name for another. He showed no willingness to assist or even listen properly. After I insisted multiple times, he finally checked the system again—and confirmed the third room was under my name. This was hands-down, the best part of our trip outside of our reason for being there. Had issues with our rental car , etc and was quite stressed but we were greeted so wonderfully upon arriving , check in was fast and the room was fabulous!

The overall hotel was clean but staff was not helpful at all. The power went out in one of my rooms because the blow dryer blew a fuse. They couldn’t accommodate changing the rooms because I requested my rooms to be close due to having teenage kids. They wanted to move one of the rooms down 2 floors which was not happening due to my kids being in one room so they had no air, no tv and only bathroom lights. They didn’t offer a refund or a discount on the room and said they didn’t have maintenance to fix it. When I told the front desk the blow dryer blew a fuse and it was no power he also asked me what did I want him to do about it. Not a very good experience at all.

DO NOT book here, especially if you are a person of color. They will appear to seem inclusive by allowing a person of color to mange but they will hold people to a different standard when you visit their location. My family and I arrive at this location on Friday and towards the completion of check out, they required my husband to sign a noise ordinance. We did not mind and thought it was great until we noticed the rules only applied to those who are of color. My family and I followed EVERY rule and we were happy to abide. However, we were met with a large group of those who were allowed to gather outside underneath our room and hold a party until 2am. I even reached out to the manager Mr. Williams who wanted to highlight that he was a Black man from the area and of course he believes this group was justified in their wrong doing. We have a voice recording of the front office desk saying she was even frustrated and have contacted her manager several times. Mr. Williams lied and we understand that he needs to keep his job but at what expense? The expense of allowing a family to have little to zero sleep and put in danger of having to travel the next day because his property refused to do their job? They will enforce the rules but if you are of color, they will call the police. We did not agree with their immediate decision and said we will just file a formal complaint. The VP of operations, Mr. Cleave, then threaten to steal from us because we did not like his decision.

This was a very nice property a year or two ago. No coffee cups in room, (1) hand towel, (1) spoon, the room was never refreshed during our stay. The staff was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was good. Good, not great.
