I stayed off the rua das Flores apartments and it was smack dab in the center of it all. The musical performances below provided a magical soundtrack to my stay here. The service is top tier, the staff was incredibly helpful, went above and beyond in showing off the amenities, answering any and all questions. The library bar was a great perk too! Would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend.

This property is centrally located. The hotel is separate from the apartments. The apartments are on a terribly noisy street. The hotel provides ear plugs in the bathroom as a toiletry, which should have been a red flag when we arrived. Upon arrival there is no where to pull up to drop off your luggage at the hotel or the apartment. You need to park at a garage two blocks away and roll it over or risk getting hit by traffic on the busy street in front of the hotel. Once you get it to the hotel, a bell person will roll it two blocks to the apartment for you. The apartments have no elevator. No one tells you until you walk in. You may get assistance lifting your luggage when you arrive but after that no one reaches out about helping you, including at the time of check out. As a result of the lack of elevator, I pulled my back carrying the luggage up and down the stairs. Add to it the inconvenience of parking, the noise on the street which prevents you from sleeping, and the fact the restaurant recommendations were lousy and you couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel because it required reservations and they were booked for the days we were there, I would not recommend this property. Absolutely gorgeous property. This property has been thoughtfully decorated to tell a theme, and it's not only beautiful but comfortable. The staff were so attentive and friendly. We dined at the restaurant and it was very good. Definitely the place to stay when in Porto- close to everything!

I spent a night in the apartments which are part of this hotel - everything was wonderful. The warmest welcome through to the amenities, location, parking 4 mins walk away. I wish I could have stayed longer and would recommend to anyone. Some of my favourite touches were the black tea bags and turndown chocolates! :-)

I stayed at the apartment for two nights. The apartment is spacious and well equipped, and very centrally located. The hotel itself is very beautiful especially the library. The front office team are very helpful and kind. Many thanks to Iris and Daniel for their help. I had drinks at the bar one night and Miguel had offered great recommendations on wine. It was a lovely stay and hope to stay in the hotel next time.

We stayed in one the very spacious apartments, 2 bedroom and 1 bath. Had a full kitchen, which was great for having breakfast and starting the day early. The front desk staff are so very helpful and nice!

Excellent location, friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, good kitchen and furniture, and nice welcome gift! Everything was great. We loved how accessible we were to all the major attractions and the feel of home in our 2 bedroom suite. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are back.

This was the perfect stay for our trip to Porto. We were traveling with our 4 month old baby and having a serviced apartment was so helpful. They had a baby cot, bath tub and the cutest little kids amenities too. The location was amazing - super central and beautiful. The staff was all very kind and helpful, our room was always so clean and restocked. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again should we return to Porto.

We booked a studio room, not knowing the room would not be in the main hotel. The room was large and clean, however it was on the top floor of the building with no elevator, which was very inconvenient. It was disappointing not knowing before we would not be able to enjoy the hotel property and its amenities. We didn’t know breakfast was only included if you stayed in the main hotel and we were offered a “discount” if we wanted to enjoy it which was ridiculous considering we were booked under the same hotel. Staff were nice and room was clean but if I were to book again I would not book within their apartments now knowing it is not a part of the hotel.

We loved the one bedroom apartment. It was both cozy and chic, giving a small glimpse into the authentic daily life of a local with all of the added hospitality of luxury hotel living. Would absolutely stay again.

Terrific location in the heart of many quality restaurants and near enough to walk to the river. Feels like staying in a lovely luxury private home rather than a hotel. Request a room away from the street if you want quiet. Or overlook the street if you like that energy. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was very well kitted out. The view was fantastic including two church facades. Gorgeous at night!

The hotel was beautiful. The library especially. However the lighting in the bathroom (which previous reviewers also mentioned) was awful. I could not see anything. I had to step out of my room into the library are and use the mirror near the elevator to apply make up. Also the fact that the time and selection you make for breakfast was to hold true for every day spent was not clearly indicated by the staff (who wants the same breakfast at the same time every day on vacation?)

Perfectly located hotel within walking distance of all the main sites of Porto. A beautifully restored, grand mansion building with large and luxurious rooms. Great breakfast options and excellent staff who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable - especially Iris on the front desk! Highly recommended!

Although our apartment was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, the staff was so helpful in bringing our luggage to us and bringing it back down when we checked out. The breakfast was amazing and I can’t compliment the staff enough for their service. Our morning waiter, George, was just awesome. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Staff was superb! The most professional and accommodating staff offering champagne or cappuccino upon arrival. Helped with bags and made dinner reservations for us as well as gave great recommendations. We got a great price and was not expecting this kind of service. The best service we had in all of the European hotels we've stayed in this far.

Great stay! They welcomed us with a coffee/water. They gave us a welcome drink to have at their bar for later as well. The bellboys were really nice and helped us with the luggage to go to the building next street down where the apartments are.

From the moment of arrival each of them showed a genuine and sincere interest in making our stay as pleasant and easy as possible. The front desk, the restaurant, housekeeping - all outstanding. Whoever manages this property should rightfully be proud of the level of attention their employees pay to the comfort of their guests.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Torel 1884. The hotel building itself is just stunning and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We were upgraded upon arrival and also offered a discounted rate on breakfast (which was delicious). We were also given a voucher for free drinks at the bar. The location was also spot on, close to lots of bars and restaurants. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Porto. Thank you to the staff there for a truly wonderful stay!

Cool boutique hotel in an awesome location. However what stood out the most was the excellent staff! Thank you to Arthur, Gustavo, Sam and the two front desk women (sorry, didn’t catch their names) for treating us so kindly and being so helpful. This property is centrally located. The hotel is separate from the apartments. The apartments are on a terribly noisy street. The hotel provides ear plugs in the bathroom as a toiletry, which should have been a red flag when we arrived. Upon arrival there is no where to pull up to drop off your luggage at the hotel or the apartment. You need to park at a garage two blocks away and roll it over or risk getting hit by traffic on the busy street in front of the hotel. Once you get it to the hotel, a bell person will roll it two blocks to the apartment for you. The apartments have no elevator. No one tells you until you walk in. You may get assistance lifting your luggage when you arrive but after that no one reaches out about helping you, including at the time of check out. As a result of the lack of elevator, I pulled my back carrying the luggage up and down the stairs. Add to it the inconvenience of parking, the noise on the street which prevents you from sleeping, and the fact the restaurant recommendations were lousy and you couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel because it required reservations and they were booked for the days we were there, I would not recommend this property. Positives - central located, spacious and clean. Negatives - the rest.

I spent a night in the apartments which are part of this hotel - everything was wonderful. The warmest welcome through to the amenities, location, parking 4 mins walk away. I wish I could have stayed longer and would recommend to anyone. Some of my favourite touches were the black tea bags and turndown chocolates! :-)

Perfectly located hotel within walking distance of all the main sites of Porto. A beautifully restored, grand mansion building with large and luxurious rooms. Great breakfast options and excellent staff who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable - especially Iris on the front desk! Highly recommended!

Ideal location , friendly staff, but if you book the apartments be aware this is not part of the hotel and 2 blocks over. Feel like Airbnb and you miss out on anything happening at the hotel. What’s challenging is cars are not allowed on the street so picking you up for the airport is challenging especially early morning when you have to check out and return the key. Otherwise staff is friendly, apartments are large (AC only in bedroom) and stocked with kitchen items. Neighbor is great , keep in mind that festivities are late night.

Absolutely gorgeous property. This property has been thoughtfully decorated to tell a theme, and it's not only beautiful but comfortable. The staff were so attentive and friendly. We dined at the restaurant and it was very good. Definitely the place to stay when in Porto- close to everything!

The pride of Porto! Torel 1884 is a perfectly located, beautifully curated property with unparalleled hospitality. We were greeted warmly upon arrival. The included breakfast was amazing. All staff - lobby, service, and housekeeping were beyond gracious. They made excellent dining recommendations. We received a delicious bottle of sparkling wine on day 1 and sweet treats every evening in our room. We stayed in one of the apartments which are a very convenient 200 yards from the hotel location. Both buildings are historic with updated modern interiors. At first we had some concern that there is no elevator in the apartments location - RE: heavy luggage and mobility. But our fears were for nought. Staff managed our bags promptly and the stairs are 100% up to modern building codes. All spaces in the beautifully modern minimalist apartment are generous. It was spotless, secure, well supplied, and well cared for. The room was quiet from outside and hallways noises. Air con worked very well. We ate the generous and delicious included breakfast in the hotel lobby each morning. Some practical (very minor) observations about our room: • The silverware was stored in a drawer under the oven. An quirky choice... It took us 3 days to find the teaspoons. • The bedroom was a bit dark. There is only a small square window and the tiny 15W nightstand lamps create a lovely mood but are impractical (especially after dark) for navigating the room or identifying matching items of clothing.
