The front staff is fabulous. Friendly, welcoming, and fun. The warm water indoor pool is great and the hot tub is exceptional, as it is both inside and outside. We had fun being in the hot tub in the snow.

We usually stay at Comfort Inn but decided to stay here and meet up with family camping nearby at the State Park over the holiday weekend since it was so hot. We really were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Checking in was smooth and the woman helping me was very friendly and welcoming. Our standard double queen room was clean and well kempt with a well working mini fridge and a small microwave, which we did not end up using. Bedding was comfortable, and there was no issue with the temperature of the room. Breakfast options included a nice variety - french toast sticks, waffles, sausage patties, eggs, cereal, bread and bagel, juice, milk - 24/7 coffee and tea was nice! The pool was above my expectations - it actually is the cleanest I have seen in years from other hotels I have visited. The hot tub was a favorite, although we didn't get much time to enjoy it given the fact that we were usually at the campground. The hot tub has a section that goes outside! How neat for hotel like this, in Wisconsin! It was definitely nice to soak in it for even 15 minutes to end the long weekend at the State Park, which by the way, was within 15 miles. The interstate was also right around the corner from the hotel - very convenient! Although tempted by the Culver's across the street (and several other popular food chain companies nearby), we were too full from meals made at camp. But there are plenty of options for quick eats/deliveries! We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

The complimentary breakfast is pretty excellent for what it is. Great value@ friendly and accommodating staff. My tv didn't work in our first room so they moved us right next door, easy peasy. The lagoon hot tub is so awesome.

Check in was the absolute worst. Never seen anything like it. Check in is at 4pm. Rooms weren’t clean till after 5pm. Sat in the lobby the whole time waiting. Lots of angry people with us.

The night we checked in (Friday, Feb. 17 around 5 pm) was not very friendly and hard to understand. When I told him I was hard of hearing he just kept talking over me. The lady that checked us out on Saturday, Feb 18 around 11 am was very nice and friendly. The facility is very clean and our room was clean and in great shape.

The only thing about the stay we didn’t like was the breakfast orange juice. It was gritty and low quality. There was even a sign asking you to leave the juice cup on the table and not throw it in the trash.

The facility is in excellent shape and well-located with easy access to Madison. The reason for my downgrade below 5 stars pertains to breakfast. It was OK on Friday AM but Saturday was a major failure. First of all, most hotels extend breakfast hours on weekends to 0930 or 1000 — not this place 0900 every day. We went to the breakfast area at 0830 and there was nothing hot to eat (except maybe some overcooked oatmeal stuck to the side of the pot). No apparent effort was made to replenish anything from 0830-0900. Admittedly our stay coincided with UW Graduation Weekend so the hotel was probably full, but that’s a lame excuse. If you are fully booked, shouldn’t you prepare more food for breakfast and ensure you are staffed to handle the increased demand? I don’t know the root cause of this major customer service failure, but the fact that they jacked the rate up for the second night by $100+ and I got less value for it was not appreciated.

I don’t know the root cause of this major customer service failure, but the fact that they jacked the rate up for the second night by $100+ and I got less value for it was not appreciated.

A nice stay. Breakfast closes at 9am but they stop refilling items at 8:45 so make sure to arrive early.

The complimentary breakfast is pretty excellent for what it is. Great value@ friendly and accommodating staff. My tv didn't work in our first room so they moved us right next door, easy peasy. The lagoon hot tub is so awesome.

it’s always a great stay here. my only minor complaint is that i wish they would improve their breakfast offerings and make water available all day in addition to the coffee.

Everything was quite good, especially considering the price. However, there were a couple of guys getting ice from the ice machine in the middle of the night, and it was incredibly loud for quite a long period of time. It was around 4–5 a.m. I was curious about what could be making such a huge noise at that hour, and it continued for over 15 minutes, so I finally stepped out of my room to find out what was causing the disturbance that prevented me from going back to sleep. When I came out of my room, I saw two guys walking toward the end of the hallway with a bucket full of ice, and I realized that was the source of the noise. Since most hotels and inns have quiet hours during those times, I was surprised that nobody addressed the issue or asked them to be quieter. The front desk was located very close to the ice machine, so I wondered whether anyone was present or, even worse, whether someone was there but chose not to say anything. The bed and overall comfort were quite good, but the soundproofing of the front door was terrible. I could hear everything happening in the hallway, and some noises were loud enough to wake me up during the night, which normally never happens.
