Fantastic location. We had to park our rental car in a pay lot across the street, but no big deal (no in-out allowed, but we were walking distance to everything we came to see). I had problems with the washer in the laundry room, but I think I might have overloaded the machine. The breakfast was delicious! Overall, I highly recommend it!

There's a lot to like about the Unwind Hotel. The location is excellent as is the overall decor and atmosphere of the hotel. The service was prompt and very friendly. Even though we don't speak Japanese there were no problems. The restaurant was fantastic. In particular the breakfast that came with our room was like nothing I've experienced before. A variety of small dishes that were delicious. The free wine happy hour in the bar was a nice bonus. The room was a bit small, but that was expected and not unusual for Japan. The shower was one of the best I've encountered in Japan.

A quiet and peaceful hotel that has modern vibes. There is a free wine hour at the bar that I was able to get. It was really nice to hang out and have a glass of wine to wind down after venturing around and exploring. I also received a free drink ticket. The drinks were limited but I still appreciated getting this "VIP" experience. I loved the vibes of the hotel and my room was very nice.

멋진 호텔이었어요! 일본 호텔답게 크기는 아담했지만 위치, 청결 어느하나 빠지지 않고 좋았네요. 직원 분들, 바 직원 분들 다 너무 친절하셔서 더 좋았어요! 동화 같은 오타루에 참 잘어울리는 곳이었습니다. 다음에 또 이용할게요!

Charming and wonderful hotel. We stayed in a loft room, which was clean and had a great view. The parking was adjacent, and it was only a few minutes on foot to the canal and tourist attractions, which made my 80-year-old mother, who has mobility issues, very happy. The breakfast for my daughter with multiple allergies was also adjusted to her needs, which was a big help. The bar right as you enter had a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed local whiskies such as Yoichi, which can only be found there. The only issues were that the wall-projection TV was a bit confusing to use and the changing room was slightly cramped. We will definitely stay here again next time. Thank you for your hospitality.

The room was small, but the high ceiling made it feel airy and pleasant. The fact that the toilet and bath were separate was excellent. Expedia states that Gold members may receive an upgrade if there's a room available, but the hotel claims they do not offer upgrades to Expedia gold members. I felt embarrassed asking for an upgrade.

This was a lovely stay in Otaru. Pleasant staff and our room was unexpectedly ready early (rare in Hokkaido). The free wine in the lounge is a lovely perk. Rooms are small but functional with hot water showers. Could use a bit more storage in the bathroom, but we made it work. Staff are all friendly and the breakfasts were massive and delicious. Thanks for the great stay!

部屋の大きさ以外は、満足でした。スタッフの方も皆さん感じが良く、気持ちよく滞在できました。トイレとバスが分かれているのは、とても良いのですが、客室の狭さが残念でした。次回は、広めのお部屋が空いていれば、そちらで宿泊したいと思います。

My stay in unwind was very nice and amazed. Not only the room but the staff was really friendly and helpful. I forgot my stuffs in my previous hotel and Akita San from Unwind had provided me lots of help checking with previous hotels for the language barrier. I really appreciated it.

5/5. Super nice staff! Very friendly and serviceminded. Free wine tasting in the afternoon. A big selection of signature coctails. Breakfast was luxurious. The restaurant had great food at a reasonable price. The rooms was cosy. The hotel building is historic and renovated with care.

Fantastic location. We had to park our rental car in a pay lot across the street, but no big deal (no in-out allowed, but we were walking distance to everything we came to see). I had problems with the washer in the laundry room, but I think I might have overloaded the machine. The breakfast was delicious! Overall, I highly recommend it!

There's a lot to like about the Unwind Hotel. The location is excellent as is the overall decor and atmosphere of the hotel. The service was prompt and very friendly. Even though we don't speak Japanese there were no problems. The restaurant was fantastic. In particular the breakfast that came with our room was like nothing I've experienced before. A variety of small dishes that were delicious. The free wine happy hour in the bar was a nice bonus. The room was a bit small, but that was expected and not unusual for Japan. The shower was one of the best I've encountered in Japan.

Charming and wonderful hotel. We stayed in a loft room, which was clean and had a great view. The parking was adjacent, and it was only a few minutes on foot to the canal and tourist attractions, which made my 80-year-old mother, who has mobility issues, very happy. The breakfast for my daughter with multiple allergies was also adjusted to her needs, which was a big help. The bar right as you enter had a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed local whiskies such as Yoichi, which can only be found there. The only issues were that the wall-projection TV was a bit confusing to use and the changing room was slightly cramped. We will definitely stay here again next time. Thank you for your hospitality.

5/5. Super nice staff! Very friendly and serviceminded. Free wine tasting in the afternoon. A big selection of signature coctails. Breakfast was luxurious. The restaurant had great food at a reasonable price. The rooms was cosy. The hotel building is historic and renovated with care.

家族４人（大人）でロフト付きの部屋を利用働くスタッフ皆さんが笑顔で明るく接してくださりとても良い２日間を過ごさせて頂きました。朝食、夕食共にお洒落でインスタ映えする内容でありつつ、お味の方もとても美味しかったです。私は少食なので十分満足出来ましたが少食でない方は少し物足りなく感じるかもしれません。周辺の観光地やお店等へのアクセスも良くとても良い立地だと思います。お部屋も清掃が行き届いており、不快に感じるような点は皆無でした。再度小樽を訪れる機会があればまた利用させて頂きたいと思えるホテルでした。

築100年というクラシカルな意匠を残しつつ、綺麗にリニューアルされており、快適にすごせます。無料のワインバーでは、ロビーに面した雰囲気のある空間で、小樽や富良野など地元ワインを楽しめました。ダイニングのTHE BALLが定休日だったのが残念！あと朝食のハイティーは期待ほどではなかったので星1つ減です。

I was a little turned off Unwind when I first arrived but the place grew on me. When we walked into the lobby we were hit with a strong smell of air freshener. Our room had dark curtains drawn and the A/C made a high-pitched noise. Once we opened the curtains and the windows and turned off the air conditioning, we felt a little better and the annoying noise eventually went away. The large staff was very nice and helpful throughout our stay. I had a cold and they gave me honey and lemon at breakfast and at the bar. One night the bartender went to great trouble to fix a cup of hot honey-sweetened lemonade for me. It was very soothing for my sore throat. Breakfast was in a large, pleasant room with stained glass windows and lots of light. the meal came on a three-tiered platter and included a mix of Western and local specialties, including mini scones and omelets, potatoes, soup and vegetables. They accommodated my dairy-free diet. In all, we felt pampered and taken care of and were truly able to unwind. The location was convenient, a 10-minute walk from the train station and just a few minutes from the canals, art museums and restaurants.
