Great hotel. Convenient clean and beautiful. Valet parking is crazy expensive though

The hotel is beautiful but it really does not offer anything in the way of convenience. There is no business center so if you need something printed you have to arrange with the front desk. There isn't a convenience store so forget grabbing something quick to eat or drink and the only restaurant is expensive and fancy. The lobby is beautiful but not a place to work. They really could make better use of the space. I did use the gym (very nice) and the rooms are spacious and very modern.

Large rooms, great location. Parking is overpriced

The location was great, the staff was friendly. Only restaurant on site is a French restaurant and the options for breakfast the servings are quite large. There was no business center on site, however, if you need something printed up to 10 pages the front desk will give you their email address and they will gladly print it out for you.

The facility was very clean. Staff were always cleaning, mopping and emptying the trash in the lobby and throughout. Rooms were very nice. Hotel restaurant was pretty good, we ate there once due to the convenience upon arrival. The only downfall for us were the charges of $65. Per night for valet parking. We didn’t even use our vehicle once we parked due to the fact that every place we wanted to visit in the DC Capitol Hill area didn’t have private parking. So we used Lyft to go everywhere. Clearly, our Hotel parking should have been validated or reduced.

Royal Sonesta was a great pick for our “in the city” DC experience. The room was stylish, comfortable, clean, and fairly spacious. The whole hotel has a great upscale luxurious feel to it (without breaking the bank). My daughter loved the gym and dance studio. Staff was friendly and flexible. Location was perfect for sightseeing— we rented bikes and rode from the hotel to the various Smithsonian museums, monuments, etc. The only downside is that parking can be a challenge here. The hotel’s valet / parking was way too expensive. I looked for street parking before finally using SpotHero and finding a more reasonably priced garage a 10-minute walk away. But otherwise, we had a great time and would stay at the Royal Sonesta again…

Great hotel but the parking situation is a nightmare. They are contracted with a parking company and both try to pass the blame to one another when something goes wrong. Will not stay here again solely based on how bad the parking is.

Room was very clean and all the staff were very friendly and courteous. The parking fee very expensive and the $32/night add on destination fee really adds up too.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean and accessible to the high points of Washington DC.

We stay here about once every other month. First time our room wasn’t made up and it took an hour to get fresh towels when we came back at 10pm and saw our room hadn’t been made up

Classy and clean.

This was our family spring break trip so overall we enjoyed ourselves. The front desk attendant Chris was great he was very patient explaining things to us and helping us. The hotel was definitely out of the way of the super busy streets but still close enough for us to walk and get scooters so that was nice. The double room we booked was actually already sold out so we ended up getting a free upgrade to a king with a roll out bed. The room was large had a lot of space a little bland but nice. The cleaning could have been a bit better there was a lot of stray hair in the bathroom including the shower. Made me feel a little uneasy.

Everything was good, but I thought they could clean our room better. We used a glass they didn’t replace. Used facecloths/towels they didn’t replace until we left them on the bathroom floor. Never swept the bathroom floor while we were there. It was 3 days.

Our stay was great except for the housekeeping services. I had to call down to the desk to get housekeeping to clean our room. They only showed up twice in the week we were there.

Room was clean. Needs better water pressure. Front desk personnel helpful and very respectful.

Service was incredible, 5 star!! Location and ambience were also great! Room was fine. I was in an Atrium Gallery View room which means that you have a window over a conference room. That part was fine, but the light is on all night long and the curtains do not block the light very well and I didn’t sleep that well. The other issue was the thermostat. I set the temp to 65 but it never got below 70. I would definitely not stay in the Atrium gallery view again but can’t speak to other parts of the hotel.

This is a beautiful new hotel with clean and spacious rooms. The staff, the tech, the comfort were all top notch. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

Beautiful hotel. It was slightly challenging for me to find- Google wanted to take me to the back. Their system was slow, so it took a lot of time to check-in. At check-in the hostess was friendly, but completely devoid of help in the surrounding area or of knowledge of the hotel. (She told me confusing info about having $12 credit at their store/restaurant that cost me an additional $12) My room was beautiful, but not super functional. I took 2 showers and the water was cold both times. Also, there were two lights that turned on all night long with motion that I was unable to keep off. It woke me up twice- super annoying!! Parking was very expensive; I felt exploited

The room we stayed was very noisy in morning with all the garbage truck sound, i would advise to install better noise cancellation windows. And the bathroom dint had exhaust (we saw vent so we called one of the staff but he suggested there is no exhaust) , so it was little problematic when you stayed with family. Similarly directions were not clearly mentioned for kitchen and water filter area. You should have something near the lift itself to guide. We like the breakfast and service overall.

Front desk service was very poor and unfriendly. The destination fees were not communicated properly, and for a total of $3,200 plus taxes, the value received does not justify the cost. These fees are especially frustrating given that they cannot be effectively used for food or beverages due to the limited availability and high pricing of the onsite restaurant. Furthermore, the $32 fee feels excessive, unnecessary, and akin to a hidden charge. Lastly, I requested to have my receipt emailed to me upon checkout at the front desk, but it has still not arrived.

Beautiful property and nice rooms. Clean. Easy valet service. Quick elevators. Really disappointed in the customer service though. My wife, son and I arrived after a long drive and we had to wait in a long, inefficient line to check in... only to be told our room wasn't ready. We couldn't get in until after 430 pm despite telling the front desk we had early dinner reservations. We ended up changing into dress clothes in the lobby bathroom. There was always a line or long delay at the front desk. We asked for bedding for the pull out bed and they kept forgetting/delayed to get it for us. We had a suite that was interior only - no exterior windows. There was a beeping in the room that was loud enough to be disruptive but not occurring frequently enough for the staff or us to figure out the cause. Not sure if we will stay again.

The breakfast was fantastic. My only suggestion is that the hotel consider offering at least one vegetarian option like a Beyond burger. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. The reservation agent Chevron had such a friendly voice when I made my reservation. The catering manager was on site before 7am until 11pm to ensure that every request from members of our group were met. The shuttle bus driver gave us great recommendations on tourist attractions.

The staff was outstanding. From the moment we stepped into the property every employee we encountered was super friendly, helpful and professional. Robyn at the front desk was top notch.

The room was amazing… The service sucked! They asked me if I wanted to upgrade my room for $100 and I said yes then they charged my card $437 then they said it was an error but only refunded me $211 and they acted like it was my problem when I called the front desk when they had obviously made the error. Put a bad taste in my mouth about the entire stay.

The staff in every department was very nice! Anytime we had a question they answered it. No one had an attitude. I'd to point out Alejandro, Aseef (sorry if i spelled your name wrong) and RJ who really made us feel comfortable and happy. Thank you so much..This hotel is very beautiful and quirky. 10/10 would stay again and recommend.

Tried to cancel because my wife had chemotherapy and we were refused. I understand that there were not supposed to be any cancelations but I would consider this an exceptional circumstance. And we offered plenty of notice.

Rooms were clean and good size. Restaurant in the lobby was perfect for breakfast. This hotel is the perfect location to everything. You can easily catch the metro that’s up the street to any place you want to go.

Love every minute of our stay! It’s a beautiful and well kept property right near Union Station. Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Staff were pleasant and approachable. The adjoining restaurant Bistro Du Jour has some delicious food as well. We’ll be back for sure!

My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was only two blocks from Union Station for easy access to the rest of DC.

The Royal Sonesta was very conveniently located in walking distance to several important sites as well as to the Metro at Union Station. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Very convenient hotel to stay in. It's 5 mins from Union Station. Nice decor, clean rooms, and thame staff was hospitable and accommodating. Not much outside dining option

Our stay was comfortable because our room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed; the hotel staff was professional and available. The only drawback was the hotel’s proximity to the museums and monuments—it was quite a distance.

Great location and friendly staff. The staff members outside (porters and valets) were very attentive and helpful. Excellent service overall. Within walking distance to the Capitol and Smithsonian museums. Short Uber ride to the wharf area. Don’t forget to use your daily dining credit at the restaurant downstairs. If you prefer to not dine in, grab a cappuccino and pastry to go and charge it to your room.

Excellent property. A wonderful women helped me with my accommodations on the phone. I was then greeted by a man who unnecessarily questioned why I thought my room was ready, even though I had spoken to a kind women who helped me out. It was initially an off putting exchange with the man at the desk, but he then warmed up and provided great info about the property. The restaurant had scrumptious food and great cocktails. I plan to share to others that I'd recommend they check it out.

Two mornings out of four I had lukewarm water for showers at 6 am. Although 2nd shower was hot. Food desert! Few restaurants in area but the hotel restaurant was great but would have preferred more options in area. Not sure what the resort fee is for because there is no pool or spas, therefore no “resort” feel of anything. Close to Capital, walkable to mall.

Incredible rooms---very spacious and elegant. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We LOVED Bistro du Jour, the restaurant for dinner.

Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee. When a majority of the adult population wakes up, what do they reach for? Coffee. This is a well known fact. The mediocre machines in the room make a cup of brown water that somewhat resembles coffee. The machine downstairs does about the same, only on a larger scale and then has the nerve to charge $6 a cup. Not to mention, it was broken on our 3rd day there. I was given a brochure upon check-in that boasts room service as well as a line at the bottom stating "If you need anything else, please feel free to reach out to us." This is a wonderful sentiment, but at a somewhat luxury hotel in the heart of a major metropolitan area and you can't offer decent cups of coffee to your already-paying guests?? I called the restaurant to try to request coffee sent to the room, and I did not care what it cost, I just wanted decent coffee, and preferably more than one cup. You would have thought I was requesting a pony be sent to my room; it was as if I had just invented coffee. Nevertheless, I told them to forget it because they made my request seem unreasonable. If hotels could provide this one basic amenity, it would go SO FAR. It is so minor in comparison to what they are charging. And speaking of charges, the "destination fee" of $30 a day is highway robbery. While it may be somewhere in fine print, I was unaware of it. When I asked the receptionist, I was told it is to cover amenties like wi-fi, waters, and.....COFFEE. I would laugh if it were funny..

Everything from check in to check out was seamless. Restaurant was yummy especially brunch. Room was well appointed & beds were very comfortable but too soft for my preference but no complaint. Felt very safe and comfortable.
