You get what you pay for here. Was told close to the airport! NOT! Should have done my due diligence. (Uber was expensive!) No elevators, so steep stairs to the rooms! Not good for us seniors! Very small rooms. Said it was upgraded in 2023, so some renovations. Front entrance shabby and hallway carpets smelly.

The bar and restaurant that are listed in the details are closed permanently. The rooms are tiny and the walls are thin. You can hear everyone else opening and closing their doors. I got a parking ticket the first day I was there, even though I registered my vehicle with the hotel. The paint was peeling in the bathroom.

They should change the name - there is no longer a cafe on the premises. Also the bar has been closed, so it's a liquor store and hotel. For older people, there is no elevator, just one run of quite steep stairs. Had I known these three things, I would have booked elsewhere.

The restaurant and bar are permanently closed. The room is outdated but the bathroom renovation was great. An elevator should be a necessity for travelers and there isnt one. Great location to Steveston wharf.

We received a parking ticket when we were told that parking is included with the price of the room. We submitted our license plate number when we registered for our room and when we went out to the car the next morning to leave, a parking ticket adorned our windshield.

The hotel is a bare bones place. Not fancy and showing its age. It is clean and the area is quiet. It is much cheaper than most Richmond accommodations. If there's one complaint it's that the room didn't have a fridge or microwave. I didn't check and that’s on me. The bar/restaurant is closed permanently. I don't know if something else will replace it. There is a cafe for breakfast but I didn't eat there. Steveston village is very nice. There's lots of places to walk around and eat during the day. If you want to go to the main part of Richmond I recommend using public transit as driving around Richmond is an exercise in extreme patience. There are buses within a short walk of the hotel. Overall I think this is a nice place for basic lodging. I'd stay here again if needing a place in Richmond.

While there was no ice machine, we were encouraged by a member of housekeeping to ask for ice at the attached liquor store, where ice was given happily. The TV was also out-of-date and low-resolution. As other reviews indicate, the facilities are somewhat vintage and worn but the comfort and security provided was outstanding. One must understand that this is an historic building which comes with its own limitations. We stayed in the jacuzzi room for a bit of extra luxury; it was roomy and comfortable. Those booking should be aware that there is a full flight of stairs and no elevator due to the hotel's heritage status. We had breakfast at the café, which was lovely, as well. The ambience of the historic fishing village surrounding the hotel is unmatched. I would recommend a stay here.

We booked the Steveston hotel for one night while waiting for a flight. We had booked the quadruple room and were excited for our stay based on the pictures. The staff are great - I will absolutely give them that. But our stay was short lived when we found a mouse running around the room. We were offered a different room, but declined as we didn’t feel assured that this would be an isolated incident. We immediately left the property. The rooms are above a bar, with ours smelling distinctly of smoke. When people were in the hallway it was quite loud, and you could hear the other rooms. The location of it is really quite nice, but once we saw the mouse we were out of there. It’s a shame as this really could be a great property. The staff were great that they refunded us right away.

Liked that it was close proximity. Room was unclean, hair in the bathroom (floor, shower). Shower curtain filthy, paint peeling on bathroom wall. Shampoo dispenser didn’t work. Coffee area spilt coffee stains. Website pictures inaccurate. Disappointing for price we paid.

The tile in the shower was pushed up in exposing the interior of the wall and the growth of mould and decay/rot. The hot and cold were reversed in the shower. The toilet was full of rust/fecal stains. The carpets were old and dirty. I have taken photos but this review does not allow me to attach them. Very disappointed considering I paid close to $200/night.

Stay was very good. We got family suite which was spacious for up to 6 family members. Washroom was very clean. Hotel location is excellent as food places and harbor boardwalk are at walking distance. One suggestion is to include breakfast in the room pricing.

Called twice the day before about late check ins, only got the answering machine. Left two messages. Emailed the property using the email address on their website two days before, no response. Sign at the door said front desk open until 11pm. Got to the property at 11:06pm. No phone number on the door to call, no help whatsoever from hotels.ca. had to book something in Richmond last minute at ridiculously high rates. Extremely angry.

People in the wrong places, not the right places: two different guests assigned the same room and no one from the hotel to help! We called during the day to find out how to check in after the front desk had closed. They put keys to the lobby and our room in an outside lock box. When we used the key to get in our room, there was already another guest in there who also had a key for our room, whom we had scared to death inadvertently. We called the numbers listed as emergency contact numbers and no one answered. We ended up in their tiny lobby on the phone from 1:45-3:15 am with an Expedia rep who finally found us a room at Vancouver Airport Hotel, where we were welcomed by a staff member at their front desk who was super friendly and helpful. Days later we got an apology mail from the hotel. A terrible start to our vacation.

We ended up in their tiny lobby on the phone from 1:45-3:15 am with an Expedia rep who finally found us a room at Vancouver Airport Hotel, where we were welcomed by a staff member at their front desk who was super friendly and helpful. Days later we got an apology mail from the hotel. A terrible start to our vacation.

We called for a late check in and were given zero details other than that is fine.. flight was delayed and by the time he could get a cab it was almost 11, i called the hotel 13 times from 10:30 pm to 11 to try to find out if he could still check in. No one answered.. we finally decided to book a new room elsewhere so he had somewhere to stay. After calling the following day im now informed of late check in procedures neglected to be told to us the prior day... First day staff we spoke to wasnt very friendly, the staff member we spoke to today was very nice and apologetic, helpful. Hopefully management gets back to us.

When we checked in with the friendly staff, they informed us there was an issue with the hot water. We still enjoyed the spacious retro room with great location. The friendly staff then refunded our stay due to lack of hot water. I would stay there again for the room cleanliness, location and staff. Thank you!

We booked for an extra guest fee and as we got to the hotel they denied that the amount of people we had was a fire hazard to the room even though it stated it was for 5 people. The staff were rude and continued to charge us extra fees later on saying they would refund but did not. We had no choice but to get another room except they gave us a rate that was unacceptable. My kids had to find another hotel an hour away late at night. We flew to Vancouver as a family and didn’t know our way around. We felt very disappointed and disrespected in our stay. Rude staff members. Please do not stay here.

Checkin was bumpy. They made us wait right up until checkin time for our two rooms. The front desk guy didn't know anything about taxis and was not helpful. The girl in the store was very helpful and was able to order both our taxis.

The Steveston Hotel was in the perfect location for everything we wanted to see. It’s an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of Steveston Village, and the historic Gulf of Georgia Cannery is right across the street. There’s free parking for hotel guests in the lot directly behind the hotel. All of the accommodation is up a long flight of stairs. There is no elevator. The ceiling is high and we didn’t feel at all cramped in our room. Everything was basic but scrupulously clean and very comfortable. I would stay here again.

This hotel is the perfect location. The rooms are a bit dated, but everything was clean and in working order. The bathroom in our room had recently been remodeled and was wonderful. I recommend staying here. The price was great and you are a less than two minute walk from the waterfront.

It really deserves a 4.5. The location and room was fantastic. The only real downside is there is no elevator. I’ll blame that lack of knowledge Hotels.com. If you don’t have a lot of luggage and can handle the stairs, the location is outstanding. Easy walk to the fisherman’s wharf with lots of restaurants and a grocery store across the street.

Stayed here twice now. The recently renovated rooms are fantastic, clean and modern. Free parking behind the hotel is a big plus in Richmond, especially in Steveston. Staff are friendly and awesome. Lots of dining options all within walking distance plus a Save on Foods right across the street. Walk less than 5 minutes to the waterfront. Overall a great place to stay.

This was probably the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Our room was directly above their pub and nobody warned us that they would be blasting music until 1:15am. Apparently there is a warning on the hotel website, but we booked through the app and there was no mention of it. The music was loud enough that I could make out all of the lyrics and feel the bass vibrating my bed. When I asked the pub (which I believe has the same ownership as the hotel) to turn it down, they refused and told me I could call the police if I had an issue with it. The hotel isn't staffed overnight, so there was nobody there I could ask for help. Hotels.com also did nothing to help when I contacted them. Needless to say we didn't get to sleep until after 1:15 and had to be up early the next morning. It was definitely a tough time trying to drive home 4.5 hours the next day on roughly that amount of sleep. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone

Everything was terrific at first — great staff at check-in, excellent location, wonderful cafe and a spacious, clean room. We did wonder at the ear plugs left on the bedside tables. That is until the band started playing in the Bar & Grill below. Only stay here on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays unless you have a tolerance for loud music!

The hotel is a bare bones place. Not fancy and showing its age. It is clean and the area is quiet. It is much cheaper than most Richmond accommodations. If there's one complaint it's that the room didn't have a fridge or microwave. I didn't check and that’s on me. The bar/restaurant is closed permanently. I don't know if something else will replace it. There is a cafe for breakfast but I didn't eat there. Steveston village is very nice. There's lots of places to walk around and eat during the day. If you want to go to the main part of Richmond I recommend using public transit as driving around Richmond is an exercise in extreme patience. There are buses within a short walk of the hotel. Overall I think this is a nice place for basic lodging. I'd stay here again if needing a place in Richmond.

This is a unique hotel because of its location and history. So glad we stayed here. The room was basic but good. It served us well. The staff were excellent allowing us to arrive at 2 am because of a delayed flight. We enjoyed an excellent brunch at their cafe for a reasonable price with friendly staff. Next store is the Gulf of Georgia Canning Museum, a fishing harbour, plus many great eating places and a fun informative walk to Gary Park. We also returned to enjoy this area the following day.

The building is historical and super cool but the rooms are very dated, the gaps in the doors are huge so lots of light coming through the hall pointed at the bed, no fridge in the room, the window curtains were very weathered and light coming through, the carpets looked grimey. But the bathroom was renovated so that was nice.

We had the jacuzzi suite and it was lovely. The room was clean, staff were great air conditioning worked and windows opened for fresh air. The hotel is mature so may need a few minor repairs but that didn't have any impact on our stay. Hotel cafe was great and the two servers are terrific.
