I stayed at this Del Mar Hotel previously when I was in town. I wasn’t asked for DEPOSIT of $20.00!? This time I returned to Los Angeles & I thought the rooms in other side of hotel were newly renovated! This time the condition of room was lacking! I was asked 3 more times for $20.00 Deposit!? Without a receipt & policy for RETURN OF DEPOSIT!? Plus, people came into my room several times without my approval OR KNOWLEDGE! I feel VIOLATED!! I realized there are plenty of other hotels in the area that will TREAT REPEATED CUSTOMERS WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE! There’s NO ICE MACHINE! Soda machine doesn’t work & I realize STAFF DOESN’T REALLY CARE! Last night the POLICE WERE OUTSIDE MY ROOM & I SIMPLY DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS AREA EVEN WITH CAMERAS! The STAFF IS NOT TRAINED TO UNDERSTAND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I felt like I was bothering the woman when I was asking iff she had my confirmation of my itinerary!

There is plenty of parking. The room is big and inviting. The only minor nuisance is the $20 cash deposit for the room key and remote control for the television.

Good and clean and safe and easy parking. Very good conditions for this price.

Comfortable bed no ice machine but they did have fridge in room so that was good for the price

They clean room every day

Sheets had mold and there was a pubic hair.last time i complained about a jacuzzi room cause the water was backing up i got 10$ out of 120$ i spent so why coplain its not going to solve anything.

Very clean

The furnature was damaged. The blinds were falling apart. The pillow case had litteral human hair woven into the threads. And the first bed sheets were stained. Surprised I didnt catch something. Had to check out after two days because my experience from the moment I checked in was uncomfortable and sketchy. They tried to pull a fast one by saying they would have to charge me the full stay. The policy states they can only charge you for one more night at the first days price. Being a Motel, should not dictate a bad experience and comfort.

I commend Del Mar Motel for resolving the issue that I brought up. We will not hesitate to stay again for the convenient location and big, clean room.

Other than the roaches and the stains on the wall it was fine.

The room was clean though out-dated furniture. But for the price I think it was good. There is noise from the streets.

Walls had lots of molle all around bed bugs on bed very dirty place will never recommend this place

The room was dirty with cockroaches, broken tv and lights were broken. Very dirty would not stay here again. Also did not return the deposit back.

Inexpensive, room was mostly fine but smelled like someone smoked weed in the bathroom. Floor was de-laminating slightly and there was mildew underneath

It was a great stay! Beds are very comfortable, rooms are almost sound proof

The rental property had several significant issues. The Room had an off putting smell to it as you walked in the shower head was broken, there were cockroaches in the restroom, and the refrigerator was unusable. WiFi was also down. Crucially, the booking process did not mention a required deposit, but the worker demanded the deposit cash, which I had to obtain from a bank due to a malfunctioning ATM on-site. The worker was also rude as he tossed the tv control and key card at me.

The room was nice and had big screen TV. The best value and price was more bang for your Buck. Stayed another night.

I did not like that they did not have internet and I still too the full amount credit watch TV that's the second time they told me it was down that after I pay for them

A|C did not work room was hot also no control for tv in the room had to go twice to ask for one 1st control was broken

Room is clean and spacious.

Stay was good. Although something was wrong with the t.v later in the night. It would not turn on. Either way, the fact that they have Netflix and Amazon prime as streaming options is a major plus! Overall, I enjoyed my stay

Best thing was the cleanliness of housekeeping, but suffered from a lot of ants in my bathroom— water was also cold and WiFi went in and out frequently. Good for the money if you’re in for a quick work trip.

The cleaning lady is amazing!!!! I absolutely loved her service if I was to travel again I’d stay here the reviews said other wise but I had no complaints what so ever!

That person working night time . He was super rude. He has nothing respect to customer. We didn’t know we needed cash deposit. (Usually credit card if need it ) We used toilet only 1time after checked in and clogged. We asked help but that rude front guy of course he don’t care. He told me we have to talk to manager next day ( but our check out day is next day ) so automatically we didn’t have a choice, we couldn’t use toilet. We had to pee in the shower area. Terrible experience. Of course it was cheap. So we deserved broken toilet ?? I don’t think so. Never come back.

I booked a room for 4 nights, but the room I was given did not have a fridge as advertised. On my last day, was forced to get my room serviced when I declined them because I was in the middle of a nap. The owner came to knock on my door 3 minutes later and demanded that the attendants serviced my room. I obliged but was extremely upset, considering there is no mandatory room service mentioned anywhere. The room service ladies and the check-in ladies were nice and kind, though. But I will not be staying here anymore thanks to the extremely rude owner.

This place is absolute trasj beware of the indian guy with the glasses whi works at the front desk dude will walk into your room without any kind of warning he opened my door and saw ny woman naked in the bed and didnt hane any reasoning for coming up to open our door

At checking-in, I was asked to hand in $20 as deposit and I was not given a receipt . When I checked out, I was not given the $20 back and I also forgot to ask. Two days later, when I came to get the $20 back, I was told that I have to come back the next day and it was my fault for not asking at check-out.

I never received any communication from Del Mar in the days leading up to my reservation that properly communicated that check-in was at 1pm, so when I arrived bright and early at 8am I was informed that I could only check-in if I paid a $60 cash fee. I don\'t usually keep cash on me, so I had to use their ATM which to many might seem like not an inconvenience at all- but I\'m definitely not a fan of ATM service charges. I ended up withdrawing $20 because there was also a $20 security deposit I needed to pay as well. Again, none of this was communicated to me leading up to my stay. While waiting for my room to become available another attendant asked if I had been helped and I let them know about what happened. They told me that check-in isn\'t until 2pm, so the staff isn\'t even on the same page in regard to check-in time if one is saying 1pm and the other is saying 2pm. The room does not come with a do-not-enter sign for the door, so the staff did come in while I was gone and left the TV on. It\'s an awkward feeling not being able to say "no thanks" to staff coming into the room, especially because I had expensive equipment in there that could have been damaged during the cleaning process. My last complaint is that at the end of a very long first day in town, when I finally came back to my room to sleep, my door card was not working, so I had to go back down to the office to have them re-activate it. This was a frustrating stay.

I had issues with my card during check-in and couldn't withdraw the $20 cash security deposit. The staff were kind enough to let me in my room as I sorted the issue out with my bank.

Rude service. Ants in room, make you do $20 cash deposit and they stole my deposit. I never do reviews but this place deserves a 1 star.

Avoid this place at all costs!!! Do not stay here. Its an unsafe and scary envelope at night. As soon as I arrived and parked my car I could see that there were 3 cars visible in the parking lot that were inhabited by people living in their filthy cars. There was even a microwave outside for them to heat up their food. The front desk checking area is outside. Upon check in instead of placing my payment upon my credit card he demanded that I pull the cash out of the outdoor atm machine to pay with saying that it was their policy. Despite the fact there is no notice of this policy in Expedia on their website. Then when I told him I could not pull out the money from my entire stay because it was over the maximum amount I could pull out of the machine, he finally agreed to just put the entire state on my card. When I checked in the room had a massive stench of epic proportions and there were ants in the bathroom. When I asked to check out and get a refund I was treated beyond rudely and the man on the phone kept screaming and shouting at me asking me "what was wrong with the room??" after I already told him what was wrong with it. In the end I was given a full refund on the spot. I quickly left and was forced to book another room at the last minute they're Expedia. This was after making a 7 hour road trip from Northern California.

Clean, no frills motel in quiet suburban locale.

This was pretty great for a motel and the area. I’ve never been here before but felt that it was close to everything I needed.

No public transport near by the area.

Nice location. Nice room size. Clean beds. Very quiet area at night. Liquor store close by that closes at 2am. Only problem was that there were a set of panties hanging from shower curtain, kinda stank.

Surrounded by busy streets. Nothing against it but I think I prefer something on one main road.

It is definitely in the ghetto and you will hear people screaming at night time every once in a while. Do not drive a hell cat or any other kind of sports car to the hotel though as someone tried stealing ours in the morning. The cleaning ladies are very friendly and clean great

not far from shopping and dinning areas.
