Ubicación

Tena is located in the foothills of the Eastern ranges of the Andes and part of the Amazon. It is a very peaceful and relatively safe town and area with a huge native population, the Kichwa people. It's a great and easily accessible place to start rainforest tours from. As it is also considered Ecuador's capital of white water sports, it's a hot spot for kayakers and for river rafting. There is a high number of spectacular and clean rivers, rising from the Andes and flowing towards the Amazonas.
