It’s off the beaten path. Beautiful area about 1.5 hours north of Denali and 30 minutes south of Fairbanks. Really pretty and quaint. Nice common area. Breakfast offerings are the usual fair. But there are stoves and microwaves for cooking.

It was cozy and comfortable. There was plenty of space to spread out. Common ateas were large and nicely appointed. Shared full refrigerator available for use. Bed was comfortable with luxurious sheets. Would be great for a family reunion or group retreat. Beautiful outdoor spaces. Would definitely stay here again.

This lodge was a shared space cabin style but also quite private. Private bathroom and sleeping area. Shared dining, living room and kitchen. Our fav part was the gorgeous cabin kitchen breakfast laid out on pretty rustic dishes. It is off the beaten path and not touristy. We felt like we were being hosted by friends. Gorgeous property too.

Check in was simple. Based on its location, we loved being far enough away from the city; but still close enough (about 25 mins.) to get groceries or do sightseeing. We didn't want to drive here after dark for fear of wildlife crossing this time of year. I enjoyed sitting on the patio the last night we were there and taking some beautiful pictures of the northern lights. Room was comfortable, shower took awhile to heat up; but it worked great. Continental breakfast was nice; and having use of the full kitchen (if we wanted) was great also.

Very friendly staff. Quiet location. Beautiful property. Cooking facilities were awesome! We liked the room-darkening curtains. WiFi was great. Nice library of books and travel books. Decor was very nice. Views of the woods and trails nearby were awesome.

Great place to stay between Denali and Fairbanks. Secluded place; would be a great place for a group, just to stay put - and enjoy time inside the cozy cabin or outside - picnic or play outdoor games. Well maintained, and decent breakfast (bread and coffee). Open kitchen - so you can also cook for yourself.

This place is very unique. It is located about 30 minutes south of Faribanks on a beautiful property. It is self check-in, which went totally smooth. We weren't sure what to expect from the property, but we were blown away as soon as we walked in. The common area feels like someone's extremely cool living room, with comfy couches, books and games. There is a kitchen available for guests' use and a gorgeous view off of the dining area. Breakfast items are available for the morning. It is definitely not your cookie-cutter hotel, and has a nice Alaska vibe.

It was clean inside. The outside was let go, & messy... not mowed. It was a shared bathroom, a shared common room w/ tv, not impressed for $160. Slept well, would maybe stay again.

Despite our late arrival and short stay, we found the Northern Sky Lodge to be a clean, simple, and rustic stop on our self-directed travel in AK. The breakfast and common areas were very well organized and accommodating. Beds clean and comfy. Wish we could have been there on a clear night.

The lodging was in the middle of nowhere. The address says Fairbanks, but it was 20 minutes south of Fairbanks. The place was relatively clean. When I was warm in the common area, I went to look for the A/C before I remembered that there wasn't any. But there was a fan, which had such a build-up of dust that it probably has never been dusted. Who knows what we were breathing in? Another thing I didn't like was that you were requested to take your shoes off in the foyer. I understand that you want to keep the place clean, but if I had known, I would not have even considered this place. It was especially incovenient when on our first morning, we forgot something, and someone had to untie their shoes and go back to the room. Then, we remembered something else, and had to repeat the whole procedure. The room had two queen beds, but it had very little storage space. We were constantly moving things around, which probably contributed to our forgetting things that morning. There were four people staying in the room, and two hangers. The door to the bathroom consisted of two wooden planks hinged together, so it didn't close completely. The walls are very thin. We could hear snoring from the room next door, toilet flushes, people talking and suitcases banging above our heads. ATTENTION: THIS WAS THE MOST CONCERNING. THE WATER HAD A SLIGHT SULPHUR SMELL AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO WASH SOAP OFF COMPLETELY. We used bottled water to brush our teeth and to make coffee.

Amazing property. At first when you enter into the woods, it seems a little strange. But when you get to the property and get into your room, it is extremely clean and cozy. There's a deck that overlooks the mountains and it is extremely peaceful. We sat there in the morning before heading out, and it was the perfect way to start the day with nature.

Located about 30 minutes south of Fairbanks, so convenient, but away from the noise of the city. We loved the big kitchen and dining area, which we made good use of, and the room, with it's impressive log walls, was comfortable and cool, despite the summer heat.

I really liked everything about this property but I will say that the walls are thin and you can hear people sometimes. Other than that I enjoyed everything.

We found this lodge very cozy and comfortable! A continental breakfast was provided each morning. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Very quiet and clean. Rex, our host was helpful but unobtrusive. Make sure you buy some food and take it in with you as only breakfast is provided. Lots of breakfast choices and the dining area was very nice. We would definitely visit again

This was a small lodge off the highway. Everything was pretty much self serve no host interaction unless you request it. We met a very nice couple in the main dining room/great room and we exchanged tips on our travels. That was our social interactions for the night. Slept comfortably for a night stay.

Northern Sky Lodge is a beautifully quiet and peaceful place to stay. Convenient to Fairbanks and not far from Danali. Host Rex and Jess were friendly and able to share information on the area. It was nice to meet other travelers in the shared large kitchen and dining area.

Very friendly staff. Quiet location. Beautiful property. Cooking facilities were awesome! We liked the room-darkening curtains. WiFi was great. Nice library of books and travel books. Decor was very nice. Views of the woods and trails nearby were awesome.

Clean, comfortable, extremely friendly owners. Fully stocked kitchen to use to prepare meal if you choose. Off the beaten path for a true in the woods peaceful Alaskan experience. Was an amazing stay 😁

The breakfast was fine but never saw the owner/Staff and had to try to figure out how to make coffee because it had run out and they didn't seem to check on anything after they set up for the morning. I finally did figure it out but with no instructions. Need to check on their supplies and stock of food for breakfast.

It’s off the beaten path. Beautiful area about 1.5 hours north of Denali and 30 minutes south of Fairbanks. Really pretty and quaint. Nice common area. Breakfast offerings are the usual fair. But there are stoves and microwaves for cooking.

Very quiet and clean. Rex, our host was helpful but unobtrusive. Make sure you buy some food and take it in with you as only breakfast is provided. Lots of breakfast choices and the dining area was very nice. We would definitely visit again

I was initially disappointed at how far from Fairbanks the lodge is, but I got used to the drive and enjoyed staying there.

It’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s quiet. It was extremely clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Check in was simple. Based on its location, we loved being far enough away from the city; but still close enough (about 25 mins.) to get groceries or do sightseeing. We didn't want to drive here after dark for fear of wildlife crossing this time of year. I enjoyed sitting on the patio the last night we were there and taking some beautiful pictures of the northern lights. Room was comfortable, shower took awhile to heat up; but it worked great. Continental breakfast was nice; and having use of the full kitchen (if we wanted) was great also.

This is located in the remote area from downtown, so you need to purchase some groceries because there is no stores around this lodge. However, there are some trail behind the lodge and one good dog.

Secluded place; would be a great place for a group, just to stay put - and enjoy time inside the cozy cabin or outside - picnic or play outdoor games. Well maintained, and decent breakfast (bread and coffee). Open kitchen - so you can also cook for yourself.

The Northern Sky Lodge has basic lodging that met our needs during a loop driving tour of central AK. The room and property are clean. The common breakfast area and offerings were fine. Please put up a sign on or next to your mailbox on AK3, as we missed the turn when we arrived as the driveway is somewhat hidden when heading south.

This place is very unique. It is located about 30 minutes south of Faribanks on a beautiful property. It is self check-in, which went totally smooth. We weren't sure what to expect from the property, but we were blown away as soon as we walked in. The common area feels like someone's extremely cool living room, with comfy couches, books and games. There is a kitchen available for guests' use and a gorgeous view off of the dining area. Breakfast items are available for the morning. It is definitely not your cookie-cutter hotel, and has a nice Alaska vibe.

Despite our late arrival and short stay, we found the Northern Sky Lodge to be a clean, simple, and rustic stop on our self-directed travel in AK. The breakfast and common areas were very well organized and accommodating. Beds clean and comfy. Wish we could have been there on a clear night.

This is a unique property. You enter in a vestibule, so bring all your stuff in 1st. You remove your shoes inside the mud room area before the living room. You cant access your room from outside. On the 1st floor, the bedrooms are down a hall past the common area of a small living room and large Kitchen/eating space with lots of windows. The place clean and tidy. A work in progress for Rex and his partner. We got Room #4 We had a double Bed room, my bed was great. big pillows. Didn't know that to watch TV you will need to go to the common area. No Big Deal. There was only one other couple there and they weren't interested in watching TV, nor were we really. My friend i was with, didnt like that the open jars of jelly and peanut butter put out for the continental breakfast are all shared too. hopefully no one licks their knives or spoons before dipping. we washed our dishes, even tho there wasnt any direction to wash or leave, so we washed and left them on the drain board, picked up our garbage. There is a community refrig. to share or keep things to eat. There was milk in there that we used for coffee since we forgot to buy in town. The kitchen is large so if you are planning to make dinner or lunch it has everything. You just need to buy things in town. Due to clouds, we didn't see the northern lights, nor any wildlife, went dog sledding with Bob Cotter (great), to Chena hot springs, drove to Denali park, didn' see Denali either. Saw Santa in North Pole, It was an adventure.

This lodge was a shared space cabin style but also quite private. Private bathroom and sleeping area. Shared dining, living room and kitchen. Our fav part was the gorgeous cabin kitchen breakfast laid out on pretty rustic dishes. It is off the beaten path and not touristy. We felt like we were being hosted by friends. Gorgeous property too.

We arrived at the property and there was a guest sheet explaining what do you have to do to get to your room, Wi-Fi, password and what was available for you in the house. Everywhere you went, the host had a sheet, explaining what to do when you laughed, where breakfast was, and what we needed to do before we checked out. I would’ve liked to see the whole sooner than we did because I would’ve asked for suggestions on what to do in Fairbanks. Other than that, the property is nice, very spacious and a good stay!!! I definitely wonder what it’s like to be there in the winter. My guess is you would likely be able to see the aurora borealis!!!

The owners have gone above & beyond to accommodate all the wants/needs of any visitor. The breakfast choices were great too. It’s pretty much a self-serve location & we enjoyed it.
