Booked a room here as a stopover while visiting the area. I would definitely return. The house has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored and it’s clear that the owners thought about every detail. Check in was seamless and all the amenities were spelled out in the instructions. LOVED the record player in the library, as well as the honor bar. I stayed in Room 3, which was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the fireplace, the jetted tub, and the heated floor. I think I may have been the only guest that night, and didn’t mind it at all. My stay was peaceful, relaxing, and luxurious. The outdoor fountain was even visited by a young doe while I was there. Perfect and quaint. Of note, check out what’s in the area in advance, as not all of the restaurants are open seven days per week. But that didn’t pose an issue for me at all.

16 Elm is an elegant historic 19th century home well presented with great attention to detail with many historical furnishings, lamps, paintings etc. The living room, parlor, library were very interesting to explore. The guest room was very comfortable with elegant finishings and clean bathroom. Everything you might need is provided, even a complimentary cocktail.

Wonderful property - we had a massive room with a claw foot tub and rainfall shower. No TVs but we did not need one. Bed was very comfortable.

Beautiful house/hotel for the perfect getaway! Quiet and comfortable with common seating areas, books and blankets! No TVs which makes for perfect time alone. Breakfast not provided but a few places are within walking distance.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! Our room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the soaking tub. There are lots of great restaurants, shopping, and cafes within a quick walk. Truly a luxurious experience.

Property itself was well decorated and clean but very overpriced. Worst customer service we have ever received. Check in information on Expedia and sent to us by email by the property contained conflicting information. Could not reach the property despite trying Expedia chat, email and phone. When trying to process a refund for a deposit on a second room, in accordance with their refund policy, they were unreachable yet again. Very grateful to Expedia for stepping in and refunding us instead. Would never book here again.

Pretty property. Main house looked nice but I stayed in South Suite which is a separate building next to Main house. It was extremely spacious and very clean except there were a few mosquitoes that had gotten inside before I arrived. Unfortunately I got bitten on my cheek as I slept. Bathroom was very nice with tin, a rain shower head and 2 sinks but the hair dryer didn’t work. I called and texted for help/to ask for another hair dryer but nobody replied to me for 6 hours. The fireplace was pretty in the living room. There are several doors that day “Storage” “Laundry” or “Staff” on them…u fortunately those doors don’t lock. I opened them to see what was in them because I couldn’t lock them…there were huge, unlit storage areas-one was larger than my entire suite. I have to admit I was very uncomfortable not being able to lock those doors and not knowing who had access to entering those storage areas from the other side. In the morning, as I stepped out of the shower, I heard voices on the other side of the laundry door that I was unable to lock. Again I was uncomfortable. So…the property is pretty and the suite was very clean and huge but it needs doors that lock, a new hair dryer and no mosquitos.

What a gorgeous stay! My husband and I stayed for one evening as we were exploring the finger lakes area. Self check-in/out went very smoothly. The home was beautifully decorated, intriguing and inviting. We appreciated the historic photos and antiques which were mingled perfectly with modern touches. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable with excellent amenities. We enjoyed the short walk to the quaint town for dinner and breakfast. We would definitely return!

Beautiful room and home, very clean!! Loved the amenities too. Amazing bathroom. Only issue was that the walls were very thin and we could hear everything other guests were doing. Since there are no TVs in the rooms, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop at times. We felt like we had to whisper inside our room. Perfect for a quiet getaway but bring earplugs just in case there’s a snorer in the next room.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The room was spacious and gorgeous! Loved having a soaking tub in our room, along with robes which was such a nice touch. The downstairs was absolutely beautiful as well as the outside. It was such a cute little spot in a very small town. The hotel is within walking distance to all the shops in town, sadly most were closed by the time we got there. It’s also just a short drive to Ithaca and some NY state parks which was the reach for our trip. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property just off the main street of Trumansburg. We stayed in a split-level "suite" which was perfect (minor inconvenience that the bathroom was downstairs and the bedroom upstairs). The property itself is a beautiful historic building, and is set up in a way that guests can enjoy the ground floor whilst the guest rooms are upstairs. A short walk to some lovely food and drink options on the main street (be aware nearly everything is closed on Monday's). Staff were polite and welcoming when we saw them though it was self check-in so we didn't see them much! Overall highly recommend and would love to come back!

Last minute trip. Not many options. It turned out much better than my expectations. The room is clean and nicely decorated, the bed is very comfy. Separate bathroom comes with steam shower also very roomy and well decorated. The hotel located in the very quiet and safe area. Overall I’ve had great experience.

Booked a room here as a stopover while visiting the area. I would definitely return. The house has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored and it’s clear that the owners thought about every detail. Check in was seamless and all the amenities were spelled out in the instructions. LOVED the record player in the library, as well as the honor bar. I stayed in Room 3, which was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the fireplace, the jetted tub, and the heated floor. I think I may have been the only guest that night, and didn’t mind it at all. My stay was peaceful, relaxing, and luxurious. The outdoor fountain was even visited by a young doe while I was there. Perfect and quaint. Of note, check out what’s in the area in advance, as not all of the restaurants are open seven days per week. But that didn’t pose an issue for me at all.

Pretty property. Main house looked nice but I stayed in South Suite which is a separate building next to Main house. It was extremely spacious and very clean except there were a few mosquitoes that had gotten inside before I arrived. Unfortunately I got bitten on my cheek as I slept. Bathroom was very nice with tin, a rain shower head and 2 sinks but the hair dryer didn’t work. I called and texted for help/to ask for another hair dryer but nobody replied to me for 6 hours. The fireplace was pretty in the living room. There are several doors that day “Storage” “Laundry” or “Staff” on them…u fortunately those doors don’t lock. I opened them to see what was in them because I couldn’t lock them…there were huge, unlit storage areas-one was larger than my entire suite. I have to admit I was very uncomfortable not being able to lock those doors and not knowing who had access to entering those storage areas from the other side. In the morning, as I stepped out of the shower, I heard voices on the other side of the laundry door that I was unable to lock. Again I was uncomfortable. So…the property is pretty and the suite was very clean and huge but it needs doors that lock, a new hair dryer and no mosquitos.

What a gorgeous stay! My husband and I stayed for one evening as we were exploring the finger lakes area. Self check-in/out went very smoothly. The home was beautifully decorated, intriguing and inviting. We appreciated the historic photos and antiques which were mingled perfectly with modern touches. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable with excellent amenities. We enjoyed the short walk to the quaint town for dinner and breakfast. We would definitely return!

Excellent hôtel all around. The service was great. We asked ahead of time if we could check in early since we had a wedding at the same time as check-in. She kindly got us in early, and I cannot thank them enough for accommodating us. The room and hotel are gorgeous with so much character. It is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at, and I travel a lot for work. The location is good because it’s close to the little downtown of Trumansburg and maybe 20 minutes from Ithaca. I highly recommend!

The property itself is a beautiful historic building, and is set up in a way that guests can enjoy the ground floor whilst the guest rooms are upstairs. A short walk to some lovely food and drink options on the main street (be aware nearly everything is closed on Monday's). Staff were polite and welcoming when we saw them though it was self check-in so we didn't see them much! Overall highly recommend and would love to come back!

What an exquisite property— the grounds, the house, the decor! The room is luxurious but only lacks in having a table to set things on (the closet is very small, too), but the room makes up for it in every other way. It was self check in with no host on site but communication was excellent and the next day, my husband ran into one of the managers, Nicole, who was a darling— so sweet and friendly and helpful. Trumansburg is a charming, very small town and 16 Elm is one of the nicest inns we’ve ever stayed in-- a real treat! We would return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful property perfectly located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Easy check-in, free onsite parking and wonderful communication. The estate itself is gorgeous, no detail spared, we stayed in the Classic Double/Twin room (2 beds). The space was great and came with a private bathroom within a couple steps of the room. Don't hesitate to book, we can't wait to come back. A true gem.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The room was spacious and gorgeous! Loved having a soaking tub in our room, along with robes which was such a nice touch. The downstairs was absolutely beautiful as well as the outside. It was such a cute little spot in a very small town. The hotel is within walking distance to all the shops in town, sadly most were closed by the time we got there. It’s also just a short drive to Ithaca and some NY state parks which was the reach for our trip. I would definitely stay here again!

Last minute trip. Not many options. It turned out much better than my expectations. The room is clean and nicely decorated, the bed is very comfy. Separate bathroom comes with steam shower also very roomy and well decorated. The hotel located in the very quiet and safe area. Overall I’ve had great experience.

My wife and I loved our 2 night stay in our spacious 3 room suite. Beautiful period decorated with a modern bathroom. A truly wonderful place to stay in a small upstate town with wonderful restaurants. Everything was planned for us with detail however we never met the live in owner which would have been nice since we had many questions about the history of the property. The last concern was that in the property description it described a what seemed to be a specially prepared breakfast which it wasn’t, instead it was granola , serial and yogurt and no coffee. However I would definitely return for a visit and highly recommend this hidden jewel.

Tea and coffee are available both in the room and in the rest rooms. the hotel has a wine bar, a music player with records. But breakfast is not included. I thought it was cold in the room. Wi-Fi networks were connected in as many as 10 times. the Wi-Fi password is inexplicably written by hand on paper. in my opinion, it is easier and better to print the WiFi password

Beautiful house/hotel for the perfect getaway! Quiet and comfortable with common seating areas, books and blankets! No TVs which makes for perfect time alone. Breakfast not provided but a few places are within walking distance.

We loved our stay at 16 Elm! The property is gorgeous and so convenient to restaurants and the wineries. Our room was very quiet and the grounds seemed like our own private garden. The sitting area was great for a game of cribbage, even though I lost. We also enjoyed golfing, Lively Run Goat Farm and Cayuga Dairy while in the area.

The restoration of the Inn and the furnishings have been done well. It is very quiet and set back from the street. What is odd is that there was no staff at all onsite and evidence that no one had been there to pick up dirty dishes or restock snacks. We also texted the number we were given about an issue and got no reply.
