National Park Inn

Everything was good and clean. The porch with view of Mt Ranier was awesome, for sunset and sunrise viewing. But the staff at the desk was hard to understand, and surprise ... there is no Wifi on the premise. Also no tv in the room. Shared bathrooms was well organized and kept.

The views from this property are stunning. There's a huge porch to sit and admire the view of Mount Rainier.

Quiet and peaceful but not much to do. Internet available by the museum outside. Dining is expensive. Only a few chairs on the porch so good luck getting one!

The front porch view is amazing and the ability to grab a delicious breakfast and head out to explore Mt Ranier with no wait is unbelievable. We had the best time just being unplugged from all the distractions of our daily lives. Highly recommend!

Great location and charm. We enjoyed our stay and dinner. For those who need to stay connected, there was WiFi at the museum next door.

We had a great visit to Mount Rainier National Park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant at the food was good and waitstaff attentive. No WIFI but nice fireplace to sit and read!

inside the park, so surroundings are beautiful with hiking out the back door. room was small and pricey (it is a national park) wonderful sitting room with fire and tea at night. restaraunt was good, but also pricey.

The location was really nice in the park. The view of Rainier from outside the lodge was beautiful. Restaurant onsite was good. Room was clean but dated. Staff was friendly.

Shared bathrooms and toilets but it seems nobody takes care of toilet. No toilet papers for 2 days and we left so don’t know how is next. Came to remind the receptionist, she said she will take care of, but nothing has been done after almost 2 days. Toilets are smelly. Foods are so so but very expensive in comparison with some other restaurants in the area.

The only negative was booking a room where you share a communal shower. Be prepared to have your own flip flops as at around 6pm, the shower looked like a hiking group came in from the woods. Long hair on the floor, water everywhere and a dirty shower floor. I went to another shower on same floor which was only marginally better. I did not take one in the am. And be prepared to wait, and wait..otherwise everything else was good inc. breakfast…

Historic hotel in the national park. Rooms are pretty cozy. Common shower needs a bit of attention (mold on curtains, add rugs on the floor, etc). There is a restaurant on premises. Food is OK, but service time needs improvement. In general - pretty great stay in the woods in a short drive to Paradise visitor center and start of most of the hikes in the area.

Staying at the Inn is very convenient for visiting the park. The property is clean and cozy. However there are many conveniences missing from this property. Although I did know this ahead of time, it is well explained, it is slightly frustrating to not have wifi in todays world. Sharing a common shower is no problem however the cleanliness of these facilities should be carefully monitored. While it did appear cleaned often, it was still mildly questionable at times. The bed was very comfortable and the room was adorable. Having a sink in the room was helpful.

I did not look as I operate on the general assumption that any hotel I book will have a full bathroom, note that this one does not. It is dormitory style with a stalled toilet bathroom off the hallway as well as shower rooms. The shower room is one individual shower but there is no way to know if it is clean or dirty, so make sure you bring shower shoes. This property is actually in the park which is nice for early hikes, but means no cell service. This hotel also does not offer WiFi, but you can stand on the porch of the museum two buildings away for internet access. That did not bother me but did bother others of our party. The attached restaurant is very limited and expensive($35 for two small slices of meatloaf a dollop of mashed potatoes and four pieces of asparagus), I would recommend that you eat in town as we heard from other patrons it was very good. As for my lower rating on cleanliness, again lies a lot with the shower but also we were on the property for about 24 hours and one of the stalls in the only restroom near our room did not have toilet paper at all. In the room itself there was dirt and debris under along the walls and it had a disturbing smell so the window had to be open the whole time. On the upside of this place, there is a common area with a large fireplace which was really nice after our snow filled hikes during the day. It was also a place where we swapped stories with other hotel guests, which was very pleasant and special to this type of hotel.

Room was very small, the bed uncomfortable, and no AC made for a sleepless night. The staff were good and the restaurant was decent. I would stay outside the park on future visits.

No AC unit in room. Overall it was good and close to where we wanted to be. Showers and bathrooms down the hall but there is a sink in your room. Very small but for one night stay it works!

The building and property are older, but charming--and the view of Mt. Ranier is beautiful. Easy access to several hiking trails. Our room was very clean and comfortable, just small with enough room for a queen bed and dresser. The restaurant on site was very good, but also quite expensive.

We had a room with a shared bathroom and shower (would guess shared between half a dozen rooms). The room was small but comfortable and clean, with two twin beds and a small sink and dresser. Upon entry, the window was open apparently airing the place out. There was some type of odor, not sure what, maybe just the mustiness of an old building. The beds were comfortable, and the in-room sink was convenient though quite small. The shared bathroom had a constant odor but probably to be expected, large roll toilet paper reminded me of gas station toilets. The shared shower was closet size and quite spartan. The water never got hot or even warm, basically endured a cool shower at best. Could definitely hear other guests moving about in adjacent rooms, noise travels thru the walls. The inn is from a bygone era, quaint and o.k. for a night's stay but don't expect modern conveniences. We had dinner and breakfast in the onsite restaurant. Food was o.k., breakfast was the better deal and tastier. But both overpriced for what one gets. If I remember correctly, 18 bucks for mac and cheese, 16 bucks for a small salad, 24 or 26 bucks for a hamburger just seems excessive. There must be a significant surcharge for being located in a national park. The service folks were fine, no problems. The fireplace lounge is very comfortable with free coffee or tea in the mornings. The souvenir shop next door to the inn is very nice.

The room was clean and the location is amazing. The walls are thin so you hear everything but the guests are very quiet so it wasn’t an issue. Check in and check out was easy.

Mostly very good. Our family suite was cramped for four people at a luxury price. There was one chair and the double bed just fit between the walls so you had to crawl in from the bottom. Luckily the nature of the area saved the place. Food was spendy but tasty with big portions.

Only one restroom & shower per floor isn't ideal. It's also easy to hear sounds across the hallways & between rooms. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Clean room while a bathroom was shared it wasn’t much of an issue. the sink is in the room conviniently. It was a bit warm at night, so recommend opening window at night. Also there was no wifi in the hotel at all but a short drive to nearby museum or to the visitor center resolve it as there was wifi and even cellular connection. Hotel offered preparing lunch for the trail for the next day- totally worse it, since there is mo much options around. Also be sure to bring cash in case card option is not working.

It is a very conveniently located inside the park. However, there was no hot water during night time and we only find out when we prepare for shower. Hot water resumes the following morning. The rooms also have no tv and wifi. Hence, will need to be mentally prepared and think of some entertainment for the small kids. The restaurant staffs were great but the kitchen was understaff with only 1 chef and we waited more than 30 min for our food.

The National Park Inn is an historic inn inside Mt. Ranier National Park. Rooms are small, but comfortable and most rooms do not have a bath. However, we reserved a room with a bath through Expedia but when we arrived that room was not available and the manager explained that Expedia had overbooked the rooms. He was able to accommodate us in a regular queen bed room with no bath and provided us a voucher for breakfast. Also, be advised that the rooms have on TV or Wi-Fi service and we also did not have cell service.

Besides the long check in time, it looked like the Inn was understaffed, the facility was great. It’s what you can expect from accommodations in a national park. The food was great. The servers were exceptional. Too bad I didn’t get the name of the server who went above and beyond to bring our dessert on the balcony so we can watch the sunset.

Property was nice, but short staffed. Was turned away for dinner because there was only 1 server and she was busy. Morning coffee in the communal area ran out quickly. Not many options to stay on the park, so take the good with the bad. Room was small, but that was expected.

They did not let us check in & are not promptly refunding the reservation. They asked to contact Expedia and Expedia is saying they need to work with property to resolve. Still no update.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The staff was extremely helpful, the room was comfortable and the location was great for experiencing Mt Rainier NP. We had a room with a shared bathroom/shower, and never had to wait for either. When our car wouldn’t start the staff quickly located a portable charger and solved our problem. The dinner we ate at the restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch, looking at Mt Rainier.

Could not imagine a better location for visiting the park. Good food in the ding room, friendly staff, great vibe. There was no and no internet, and I didn’t miss either!

The food was good, our room a bit small, but the location was EXCEPTIONAL! Sitting on the front porch with a warm drink admiring Mt. Rainier after a long hike was the best ending to our day. Our servers went above and beyond to make our dining experiences enjoyable and relaxing.

The property was nearby the trails in Mt Rainier that I can just walk to them from the property.

Amazing little historic place that gets you off the grid! The only thing I would improve is the food service—way overpriced (28$ for a hamburger)! But the blackberry cobbler was delicious!

The breakfast was outstanding. Perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The Chef/cook really does a great job. There is a bit of a wait for the food though and the service is slow. Sometimes just waiting to be acknowledged at the entrance when a quick word like “I’ll be right with you’ would be great.

We loved staying in the park in a historic hotel. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The food in the dining room was mediocre and we only ate there one time. Our biggest complaint is that there was no internet and no cell service. (Also no tv which we welcomed. ). Since we are seniors, having contact with our kids is important to our family.

Overall the stay was very good. The staff were great. Even though the rooms were on the small side the bathroom & amenities made up for it. Nice sitting area & game room with cozy fireplace. The best part was the really great breakfast. Would stay here again for sure!
