We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The panoramic view of Lake Arenal is amazing and can be enjoyed from the bed, the sitting area, or the deck. Ana and her staff served the most delicious breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable and was nicely made up each day while we were out exploring. There are a few restaurants and small shops within walking distance, down a dirt road at the bottom of the hill. We rented a car at the airport in San Jose, and I think it might be tricky to get around without one as this is a fairly remote spot (in a good way). La Fortuna is about a 40 minute drive away; we explored the town, visited the Tabacon hot springs (there are many others depending on your tastes), and did excursions to the Mistico hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Arenal Volcano lava fields. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic, private, peaceful and welcoming spot (and some amazing food) away from the commotion of town.

Unique place to stay, sensational uninterrupted views over Lake Arenal. Wake up to the sound of howler monkeys in the trees outside and sit on your deck in the evening watching flocks of parrots. We stayed in Pod 1 - recommend as has trees closest so you can see the birds right next to you. Amazing hosts Ana and Bastien, immaculate cleaning and care and attention to your guest experience is evident in all the thoughtful touches. Delicious breakfasts and Ana will also cook you dinner on request (highly recommend). 3 local restaurants within walking distance, however car is essential to reach activites (do not miss the Venado Caverns!)

These bungalows are awesome! Super clean, comfortable and they look exactly like the photos. The view from your private deck overlooks Lake Arenal as well as a ranch with cows grazing during the day. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve met. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the tenderloin! You will need 4x4 to get up the hill. No air conditioning (it’s not needed) and no TV! Prepare to unplug and enjoy the beauty from your bed or large deck. Star gazing at night os unbelievable! Not suitable for children. We look forward to going back!

LOVELY location tucked away on hillside overlooking Lake Arenal. Individual bungalows are chic, comfortable and private. Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast included-delicious. We also had dinner here one night and it was excellent. As an avid birder, I spent a lot of time on our balcony in amazement at the sheer number of birds and the morning birdsong. Used as a base for local day trips and to Arenal Volcano and Monteverde. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Wunderschöne Bungalows in moderner, puristischer Architektur mit atemberaubendem Blick auf den See. Wir haben viele Stunden auf der Terrasse verbracht und die grüne Landschaft sowie den gepflegten Garten der Anlage genossen. Ana ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, die jeden Morgen ein etwas abgewandeltes Frühstück anbietet und auf die Wünsche der Gäste eingeht. Auf Wunsch bereitet sie abends ein fabelhaftes dreigängiges Menü. Wir fühlten uns während unseres Aufenthalts und bei Gesprächen mit unserem Gastgeber Bastian sehr wohl und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Little slice of paradise. Views are immaculate and the vibes are relaxed. Far enough from the touristy areas to feel authentic but close enough to the sights to reasonably do it all. Breakfast service was divine and a nice way to start the day off. Lack of AC not an issue at all, even when the temperature looks high because the breeze and shade make for ideal temperatures. We loved our stay and would recommend to any couple looking for a heightened experience in Arenal.

Na het lezen van al de goede reviews, konden we amper geloven dat het echt zo goed ging zijn. Het was weldegelijk zo goed als door de andere reviews beschreven! Heel erg vriendelijke en behulpzame Nederlandse eigenaar en zijn vrouw. De staff was ook enorm vriendelijk. Het bed was zalig om in te liggen, en dat met een uitzicht op het meer waar je de zonsondergang kan zien. Vanop de viewdeck kan je verschillende kleurrijke vogels zien passeren. Het ontbijt was ook enorm goed, met opnieuw een heel mooi uitzicht op het meer. We kunnen het enkel aanraden aan andere reizigers, dit is een uniek hotel doorheen je reis in Costa Rica :)

This hotel is situated in quiet nature. The scenery is calming and so are the rooms. Every room has a view like out of a postcard of the lake and the mountain and greenery. The staff are amazing, attentive and welcome but do not speak fluent English. It allowed me to practice my Spanish and also enjoy the culture even more. The food - breakfast … I don’t know if there are enough words in any langue to describe the quality, presentation and taste. Everything is made in the open kitchen and there is no menu, what you are offered is what you get. You WILL be so pleased and want more. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a great escape. The location is a short distance to the ‘main’ area but that only adds to the feel and experience. Lastly, there are no TVs in the room; the focus is on self and nature. This is a stay for a couple or for one person, depending on the level of rest one is looking for I would recommend and I am looking forward to going back and staying again soon!

This hotel is fabulous and great value for money. The views from the rooms are outstanding, the decking is lovely to sit on and relax and the bed was really comfortable. The ladies who run it are lovely and breakfast was the best we have had so far in Costa Rica, and all cooked fresh. I highly recommend this hotel.

Anna was great! The room had a gorgeous view. We received breakfast every morning which was delicious. I would definitely recommend for anyone who was peace and quiet during their stay in Costa Rica!

Milena and her husband are truly wonderful people who shared their little gem with anyone who stays over and you just don’t want to leave. This place is truly special I strongly recommend. I have travel all over the world and this place had the best hospitality and food for a reasonable price. We extend our stayed and can’t wait to be back again :)

The owner of the property greeted us with a hug on arrival and was the best host and the views on her property are to die for. You won’t get a view like hers anywhere! When we arrived there was a scheduling miscommunication and Ana went above and beyond to ensure we had a 5 star experience. Not only were the views magnificent but her cooking was exceptional! Better than anything I’ve ever tasted in my life. There is no doubt we will be back and recommending this place to everyone we meet.
The owner of the property greeted us with a hug on arrival and was the best host and the views on her property are to die for. You won’t get a view like hers anywhere! Anna and her girls are wonderful.... very friendly and helpful!! Definitely would return and suggest to others. Small only 6 rooms .... so we found the other guest delightful. We were all of the same mindset. Love this hotel, it has a beautiful view and great birding.

Little slice of paradise. Views are immaculate and the vibes are relaxed. Far enough from the touristy areas to feel authentic but close enough to the sights to reasonably do it all. Breakfast service was divine and a nice way to start the day off. Lack of AC not an issue at all, even when the temperature looks high because the breeze and shade make for ideal temperatures. We loved our stay and would recommend to any couple looking for a heightened experience in Arenal.

This hotel is situated in quiet nature. The scenery is calming and so are the rooms. Every room has a view like out of a postcard of the lake and the mountain and greenery. The staff are amazing, attentive and welcome but do not speak fluent English. It allowed me to practice my Spanish and also enjoy the culture even more. The food - breakfast … I don’t know if there are enough words in any langue to describe the quality, presentation and taste. Everything is made in the open kitchen and there is no menu, what you are offered is what you get. You WILL be so pleased and want more. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a great escape. The location is a short distance to the ‘main’ area but that only adds to the feel and experience. Lastly, there are no TVs in the room; the focus is on self and nature. This is a stay for a couple or for one person, depending on the level of rest one is looking for I would recommend and I am looking forward to going back and staying again soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The panoramic view of Lake Arenal is amazing and can be enjoyed from the bed, the sitting area, or the deck. Ana and her staff served the most delicious breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable and was nicely made up each day while we were out exploring. There are a few restaurants and small shops within walking distance, down a dirt road at the bottom of the hill. We rented a car at the airport in San Jose, and I think it might be tricky to get around without one as this is a fairly remote spot (in a good way). La Fortuna is about a 40 minute drive away; we explored the town, visited the Tabacon hot springs (there are many others depending on your tastes), and did excursions to the Mistico hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Arenal Volcano lava fields. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic, private, peaceful and welcoming spot (and some amazing food) away from the commotion of town.

Just be aware that this location is very remote. Bring whatever you need in the way of food and drinks. Only breakfast is open. The property has a beautiful landscaping and a great layout to enjoy your stay. You wake up to birds' sounds in the morning and enjoy the relaxing evenings on the porch with the sunset view. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve met. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the tenderloin! You will need 4x4 to get up the hill. No air conditioning (it’s not needed) and no TV! Prepare to unplug and enjoy the beauty from your bed or large deck. Star gazing at night os unbelievable! Not suitable for children. We look forward to going back!

Wunderschöne Bungalows in moderner, puristischer Architektur mit atemberaubendem Blick auf den See. Wir haben viele Stunden auf der Terrasse verbracht und die grüne Landschaft sowie den gepflegten Garten der Anlage genossen. Ana ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, die jeden Morgen ein etwas abgewandeltes Frühstück anbietet und auf die Wünsche der Gäste eingeht. Auf Wunsch bereitet sie abends ein fabelhaftes dreigängiges Menü. Wir fühlten uns während unseres Aufenthalts und bei Gesprächen mit unserem Gastgeber Bastian sehr wohl und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

The view is absolutely amazing and we loved the little secluded bungalow. The owners are so friendly and informative. The breakfast is amazing, it’s a 4 course meal and different each day. You start with a parfait, then a specialty pancake, the main course is eggs and a specialty side (empanadas, etc.) and then juice, definitely fills you up for an adventurous hike. I would definitely recommend this place. Almost forgot you have a special wake up call from the howler monkeys around 5:15 a.m.

The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again.
