YMCA of The Rockies Estes Park

Love the many activities that were available but very sad that the three days we were visiting the pool was unavailable. Room was warm so we used the fan that was in the room but it was very loud.

There was nothing we didn’t like. It was above and beyond our expectations! Delicious food. Great activities. Stellar views. Friendly staff. Affordable. It was just what my family was needing! Very restful and refreshing! But always something fun to do at the same time! (Great pool and basketball courts! Wonderful arts & crafts center!) LOVE the lodge-cabin feel!

The grounds are huge and the views incredible. The activities are varied and therefore there is something for everyone. We really enjoyed going for a hike with one of the guides. The food is mediocre. We were in a lodge, but next time I would book a place where we can cook ourselves.

Bathroom was tiny, sink outside in room... mattress sunk in towards center really badly. Pool hours are awful! We didnt get to swim at all!

Good food options for the family at the buffet. Offers great outdoor activities onsite. Easy access to RMNP without getting stuck at Estes Park’s horrible traffic during busy seasons. I will return.

Adequate room in a lovely setting at the base of the mountains, immediately convenient to the National Park. Full list of traditional family oriented sports facilities for basketball and tennis, as well as untraditional ones such as archery and miniature golf. Great fun. Even watched two elk lock horns on the playing field. Maybe they disagreed over the outcome of a game.

Most of the activities were closed or unavailable.

We just had an overnight and would definitely come back for a longer stay. Roller skating was fun for our kiddo. Mini golf had a lot of people on the course but never felt backed up. Swimming facility was excellent. Great atmosphere and will be coming back for sure!

Huge facility with so many things to do. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and really, you only want to be in your room to sleep because there is so much to see and do outdoors. So cool to see elk roaming right outside your lodge!

The rooms are dated mountian style rooms which is part of the charm. The rooms are clean. The beds are fine. I have an extra firm mattress at home so they aren't as comfortable as my bed but we slept well anyway. There is a body wash, shampoo and conditioner combo in the rooms but we didn't use it because we had our own.There is no TV or microwave in rooms. There is Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a refrigerator. Our stay waa quiet but we weren't there during peak season. We came in late Oct. We love the YMCA because of the location and all of the beautiful scenery. We also love that there are so many activities on-site that you don't have to leave the grounds. There are plenty of hiking trails, crafts (we painted ceramics and they glazed and fired them for us), tennis, basketball, baseball, mini golf, disc golf, indoor swimming , etc.. We stayed two nights and ended up playing basketball, soccer, volleyball in the indoor gym. We took an indoor archery class and went to the roller skating rink two nights. We hiked some, did mini golf, and a ceramics craft. The archery and ceramics were an extra charge. Everything else was complimentary. The cafeteria is all you can eat. Breakfast is good but I'm sort of picky on food and I would skip the other meals. The service is great and they staff work really hard for the guests. It's just the food is not scratch made and mostly repeatable or already made packaged food. Other than the salad bar.

It took an hour to check in. The room are dirty and the hotel gives you a zombie wibe

Beautiful setting. Our building was very poorly maintained!! So dirty and gross. I don't think the hallways had been vacuumed in the last two weeks. We had to make our own beds (bedding was left on top). This resort is amazing, just needs some manpower and hundreds of hours of cleaning and maintaining.

Clean room. Bed was comfortable. Quiet. Nice view from second floor room. Pleasant and efficient check-in. The staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was easy to access, Overall a very pleasant stay.

The room was very small and dirty. They had a bag at the end of each bed for us to make our own beds. The mattress looked stained and the comforter had something crusty on it.. No tv. No air conditioning so the room got about 80° but a box fan was provided to put in the window. Only problem is it had about a inch of dust on it so the minute you turn it on it covered the room.... The door wouldnt lock from the inside which felt very unsafe especially traveling with a child. Check in time was 6pm which would have been fine if everything on the facility didnt close at the same time so we were unable to use the pool, archery, or axe throwing. Overall I would not recommend or stay here ever again.

As far as activities I give this property at 5/5stars but for cleanliness they can improve greatly. Our room was dusty & the shower curtain had yellow & black stains. I wasn’t comfortable staying the room it just felt dirty. However they have a lot of activities to keep the guest busy so that was a plus.

Great on site activities for the whole family. We enjoyed pickleball, mini golf, roller rink, hiking, the playground and craft center. Rooms/buildings are very dated but clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. No AC or TVs in the lodge rooms. Limited dining options. Very close to RMNP and Estes Park.

Lots of activities available and a fantastic setting. Rooms are basic and dormitory style but got the job done. If you are a light sleeper it would be better to get a top floor room, there is considerable noise from the room above.

It took forever to check in the room was old and there was no tv beds were not comfortable at all. Probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The location is beautiful and they offer so much. Activities, dining etc but no AC and for a woman that has hot flashes it made it a long uncomfortable night. I’m sure most of the time it’s not needed but it was 79 in my room and only cooled down to 74 overnight with the window open and a ceiling fan. We did get a box fan for the window on the 2nd night and that helped bring in a breeze but no AC is a deal breaker for me returning which is sad because I really liked everything else about it. Oh and no TV. That in itself wouldn’t stop us from returning but you should know that ahead of time.

Wasn’t aware that there was no air conditioning, but it was cool during the night so it stayed fairly cool in the room. We are a family that sleeps hot though, so we light our room to be pretty chilly to be comfortable.

Overall this was a good spot for us to stay a night right by Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park for the holiday weekend! It is an older property that is showing its age on the room front, with old furniture and fixtures, but the grounds and activities make up for that and then some. I do think they need to work on updating some of the rooms in the "hotel" style part of the grounds, as the fixtures like bathroom fans, chairs, and beds are all pretty old and weren't really comfortable or usable, really. The lack of a mini-fridge is also something that is a bummer, so we'd need to adjust for that! We would probably try staying in another part of the YMCA next time we come, to see if it's a bit nicer!

It was slightly loud to hear the footsteps from the room on top and families walking the hall after 11pm, but other than that it’s reaallly good here. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, otherwise we could have enjoyed so much activities in and around YMCA camp. My daughters loved the bunk beds.

This has been the best and most memorable family vacation we’ve had yet. The rooms are humble, and not updated, but the staff and activities are worth every penny! We almost had to leave because our daughter had an anxiety attack and management was extremely understanding and allowed us to cancel if need be. Thankfully we didn’t, and we went on to have great interactions, fun fun and more fun! Staff was amazing and so very kind. Best place ever to take your family. We plan on making this our family vacation spot every year.

I reserved a balcony on my reservation and was not given balcony. Our view was not appealing, broken chair and random wood boards in front of our room. It smelled musty. The staff was awesome. Pool was awesome. The facility has so much to do.

Could not get into room until after 7 PM toilet clogged from first flush

Check in was an absolute nightmare. Our room was not ready when we arrived after waiting in line for 20 minutes. 30 minutes later we get a call our room is now ready but we have to stand in line AGAIN for another 30 minutes and the man checking us in could not get the card reader to work to give us a key. He leaves us standing at the desk and disappears for 15 minutes!!! I asked several people to please find out what was going on and nothing! We finally get our key and the lodge we were in was so outdated and ran down I was just over the experience. If you are staying one night there is absolutely no time to use ANY of the amenities. Check in is at 6pm, pretty much everything closes at 5 and check out is at 10. Absolutely awful experience. Never again.

The most frustrating part was the check-in time. They state that it may be until 6pm before rooms are ready. We didn't get access to our room until 7pm. With a 10am check out time, this hardly seems worth staying. They did offer us a free meal in the dining hall, but we had just eaten there to pass time, and it was awful so we quickly declined the offer to go back. On a positive note, the activities for kids seemed great. While we waited the several hours for our room to be available we did check out the Crafts building, which my 7 year old loved.

Horrible rude staff and wanted check in at 6pm checkout 10am!! Ridiculous! Who does that??

Great place to stay for day hiking around RMNP. The grounds are beautiful!

Location was excellent to Rmnp and Estes Park.

The rooms were comfortable and clean with gorgeous views. The animals and grounds were wonderful. It is close to Rocky Mountain National Park.

everything about the stay was wonderful except for the food at their "all you can eat buffet"we paid $130 and not a single one of us could even get one full plate of food let alone go back for more because there wasn't good options at all the best options they had were uncrushables and chips in a bag not very good all you can eat buffet other than that it was wonderful

Well in 1 week they never clean our room. I called twice to Housekeeping and they never returned my call. The place in general is good. Close to Estes Park downtown it’s a plus; their buffet it’s ok, they need to improve their menu and offer more variety

Family friendly. Lots to do. Our family enjoyed the put-put, foosball, ping pong and pickleball. There are several dining options on site. We ate three times (1 dinner and 2 breakfasts) in the Aspen dining room. All you can eat was a great value! The grounds are beautiful. We stayed in late September and there were lots of elk on the property. We stayed in the Eagle Cliff Lodge. There was no AC but the room had a box fan which we put in the window. The room also had a mini-frig. The EC Lodge had a microwave available in a common area. We would definitely stay here again. Two days isn't enough time to take advantage of all that is offered.

The property is just amazing and so much to do for families! The activities were just great. We loved mini golfing every evening and the arts center had so many fun projects. Don't miss the museum either, lots of great info to be learned there with great volunteers! The lodge we stayed in didn't have air conditioning and fans didn't help much - the room stayed at around 85° so it was a bit uncomfortable. We found the food in the dining hall to be disappointing for the price.

Many Buildings!!! Go for Room with Breakfast options. They have many rooms like economy standard luxury etc which Expedia did not call out. this is our first time Visit to National park in June and we were looking for one night stay in estes park and very very few options were there , almost every hotel is min 2/3 night stay minimum. This one offers one night stay which costed us 230+ bucks for double room which has two queen beds and refrigerator. Got balcony but we got basement/ ground floor rooms. Pros: Location, Breakfast , Playground , 10 mins to Beaver meadows entrance. Cons:No A/C No ceiling fan ,suffocating in the room . So check with hotel to select right room of your choice. Economy rooms have queen bed and two bunk beds to accomodate more people but its suffocating little bit. Breakfast buffet is the BEST, we got it included with standard room but you can pay and eat as well , its 10$ per person.

Good place to stay and with a bunch of activities. I do not recommend their food though, very simple and we had food poisoning. Everybody got sick and really nauseated.
