Days Inn by Wyndham Baton Rouge Airport

Was supposed to be non smoking room but had a smoking odor. Had only coffee and no continental breakfast. Other wise a nice place to stay and price was good

I stayed at the Days Inn by Wyndham Baton Rouge Airport with my daughter from August 12–August 15 while helping her get settled as she begins her junior year at Southern University in Baton Rouge. What should have been a positive and exciting trip for us turned into an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience. A housekeeper entered our room and cleaned the bathroom and changed the towels. However, we later discovered that $400 in cash had been taken from my daughter's belongings. This was not money that she had carelessly left behind. She had worked throughout the summer and intentionally saved that money to help with her expenses as she starts another year of college. This is not simply an issue of poor housekeeping or an unpleasant hotel stay. My daughter worked hard all summer to save that money for school, and having it taken from her is incredibly upsetting. Guests should never have to wonder whether someone working inside the hotel is going through their belongings or stealing from them. I also expect this complaint to be taken seriously and not dismissed as simply "missing money." I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience. Management needs to address the serious concern that guests may not be safe leaving their personal property in their rooms. I hope this situation is investigated properly and that no other guest has to experience what my daughter and I experienced.
