This little motel was adorable. The staff was nice and come around with a basket of breakfast grab and go items the evening prior. Our room had a bench outside. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were a bit hard. The room was very clean. A coffee pot and coffee in the room. All the Custer restaurants and shops were within a short walk. Miner's Cup next door had great coffee shop drinks and breakfast sandwiches.

Lovely little spot, comfortable beds, nice open courtyard and a green space behind cottages. The included breakfast in the room was a bonus. Shopping nice and close and a great way to stretch your legs after driving. Several options for food within easy walking distance.

Michele and her staff were wonderful from the time we pulled in the lot until a follow up phone call after we left. It was so nice having our own kitchen and it was quiet and peaceful. The shower is small but that was my only issue. We will definitely stay there again if we’re in the area. We were there 5 nights. It felt like we were in our own small apartment instead of a hotel room.

The check in was quick and easy. Property was clean. Loved that it had fully operational kitchenette with stove, oven and apartment sized refrigerator. Bathroom was a bit small, but was adequate. We would stay there again for sure.

It’s a great, quaint place to stay. Our room had everything we needed. A side kitchen area with a little morning food provided. Plenty of hot water in shower and very comfy bed. If I’m back this way, I’ll definitely stay here again!

We stayed in 2 different units due to booking dates. One unit had a small kitchenette, the other did not. Both units were fine, just are just in need of upgrades. The manager was awesome. The location was great for walking the city. I would recommend Chalet if you are comfortable with not “top of the line.”

We had such a nice stay in this incredibly charming property. The staff was nice, the room was clean and quaint and it had everything you could need. It was extremely convenient to the amenities of town and the area attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Room had terrible smell, possibly cleaning products, not sure. It gave me a headache and made me nauseous. Small room, small refrigerator, no freezer. Just couldn’t stay in room with the smell for 4 days. Wouldn’t recommend.

I'm sure this property was charming many years ago but for 2025, it needs updating and remodeling. Everyone who works here is very nice. The room needed additional cleaning as there was hair everywhere on side of doors, on bathroom walls. The bathroom is very small so if you are over 5'10" it is very uncomfortable as toilet to sink is cramped. The shower is also very small. Only here for about 12 hours and woke up with horrible back pain. The mattresses need to be replaced. It's right off the main road.

So the room itself was fine but either they had just fumigated the hotel or were using extremely potent cleaning products. We turned on fans and left the room for 3 hours and even then it was the same. We checked out without spending the night.

This is a unique property with individual bungalows. Very cute and in good repair. The beds are comfy, the room clean. They have their quirks. The floor in ours was tilted a bit, so you walked quickly to the tiny bathroom. Took the hot water a few minutes to arrive and the air conditioner didn't do much to cool the room. We just opened the windows and let the evening breeze in. But a great value with lots of character.

I would not rent this property. I cannot talk about all the issues with this property. First parking is tough then it is very small and the unit we stayed in was leaning very out of level. A/c didn’t work. I could not fit my shoulders in the shower. Bathroom was very small hard to turn around in it. Had a sign telling me to run water a while as water heater was far away from the unit. Never did get warm water let alone hot water after 7 minutes as I gave up. Could keep going but I think you got the jest. Very over priced.

Very quaint and perfect for what we needed. The gal at the desk had pre stocked our rooms with breakfast items which was helpful since we planned to leave before the office opened. The cabins are quite small so keep that in mind, especially the bathroom. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable. Very convenient and casual though.

Wonderful reception, comfortable beds. Tight but possible parking right next to cabin, tight in the bathroom and bathroom door hits one bed if you have two beds in your room like we did. Reasonable rate for the area. Breakfast was muffins, sugar juice, and sugar yogurt. There were also apples and oranges. No breakfast room. The first night the food was left in our room, and the second night we picked up the food in the office.

Nice place to stop for a night. We were in room 15, its very small, bathroom is tight. Your butt sticks out the bathroom door while brushing your teeth. Yes I would stay again no musty smells even though it’s an older property. Very clean. Great people and you can actually walk to town and there’s plenty to do and see there, just know it’s basically a small bedroom with a 3 1/2 by 10 bathroom with the stand up shower taking up about 4 feet of the length.

Så fina pittoreska små chalet att övernatta i. Mycket trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Skön säng och lagom mjuka kuddar. 2 frukter, saft och yughurt till frukost. Det åt vi. Gott och bra, men till det söta muffins! Vi gick till Subway rakt över gatan istället, för att få en "riktig frukost". Vårt rum med en queensize bed, var otroligt kompakt. Vi var två personer i rummet och kunde knappt röra oss, och svårt att få plats med två stora resväskor. Vi blev också besvikna för att vi fick ett rum på baksidan av vårt lilla hus och att rummet var så litet. Detta drar ner det poängen. Skulle vi bo där igen? Nej. Många butiker och restauranger i närheten.

Such a cute chalet to stay in! Michelle was the absolute best making sure we were taken care of and the continental breakfast already in the room was perfect. We stayed one night and check in and out were easy and convenient. It is a 1937 chalet with updates so the condition is what it is. Everything was very clean and we were thankful for the window air unit since it was unseasonably hot. Great location and value as we were passing through Custer.

As old as this place is, it is in awesome shape! If you like the tiny roadside cabins of yesteryear, this is your spot. It is perfect for a little overnight on the way. Our host was welcoming, accommodating, and we enjoyed the little breakfast provided. Look forward to drifting through again soon!

This is a great little stay. You are about 45 minutes from most attractions in the Black Hills (a little more for Badlands and Devil's Tower). Becky was great. We had a 2 queen room (1 Queen with a chair and tv and another Queen in a separate bedroom with a desk. The rooms are a good size. It's a clean place located near shopping (Dollar Store right next door) and many restaurants within a short walking distance or drive.

It was very nice that we had a detached chalet to ourselves. There is a great deck in the back which we used every night. Staff is super friendly and the motel is within walking distance of everything in Custer. It is also about a 15 minute drive to Sylvan Lake.

We stayed in 2 different units due to booking dates. One unit had a small kitchenette, the other did not. Both units were fine, just are just in need of upgrades. The manager was awesome. The location was great for walking the city. I would recommend Chalet if you are comfortable with not “top of the line.”

This little motel was adorable. The staff was nice and come around with a basket of breakfast grab and go items the evening prior. Our room had a bench outside. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were a bit hard. The room was very clean. A coffee pot and coffee in the room. All the Custer restaurants and shops were within a short walk. Miner's Cup next door had great coffee shop drinks and breakfast sandwiches.

Perfect location and accommodation for our busy days of sightseeing. All basics are covered. Even offered coffee/juice grab & go breakfast at 4:30am day of Buffalo Roundup, which was awesome.

Tiny room. The beakfast was a muffin in our room - not grab and go from lovely baskets as in the photos. No coffee until 7:30 am.

Wonderful reception, comfortable beds. Tight but possible parking right next to cabin, tight in the bathroom and bathroom door hits one bed if you have two beds in your room like we did. Reasonable rate for the area. Breakfast was muffins, sugar juice, and sugar yogurt. There were also apples and oranges. No breakfast room. The first night the food was left in our room, and the second night we picked up the food in the office.

This is an old hotel with all utilities. My room was small, but fine for me. Your breakfast is already in the room when you arrive. I had a coffee, muffin, yogurt, and an apple for my breakfast. When you leave, you just leave the key in the door and go.

As old as this place is, it is in awesome shape! If you like the tiny roadside cabins of yesteryear, this is your spot. It is perfect for a little overnight on the way. Our host was welcoming, accommodating, and we enjoyed the little breakfast provided. Look forward to drifting through again soon!

Så fina pittoreska små chalet att övernatta i. Mycket trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Skön säng och lagom mjuka kuddar. 2 frukter, saft och yughurt till frukost. Det åt vi. Gott och bra, men till det söta muffins! Vi gick till Subway rakt över gatan istället, för att få en "riktig frukost". Vårt rum med en queensize bed, var otroligt kompakt. Vi var två personer i rummet och kunde knappt röra oss, och svårt att få plats med två stora resväskor. Vi blev också besvikna för att vi fick ett rum på baksidan av vårt lilla hus och att rummet var så litet. Detta drar ner det poängen. Skulle vi bo där igen? Nej. Många butiker och restauranger i närheten.

The room was clean and very good value. The highlight was the staff. Rebecca was very helpful and beyond nice. She helped get the TV working and gave us great advice in what to see and where to eat. All with a great smile and joyful attitude.

Neat experience staying in our own little cabin here. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The cottages are a bit older and ours was slightly slanted (so be careful if you have anything that might roll away!). Overall an excellent stay.

Amazing stay and our hostess went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable…she got us heavy quilts and an electric portable heater; as the lodge we had previously we were chilled all night. We stayed very comfortable w/quilt and didnt need the heater…but she was so thoughtful to make sure we were comfortable. The location was also great and not far from Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse or Needles highway, or Custer state park. Such a cute cottage! Would highly recommend!
