Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Williamstown

This is a nice new facility. It has a nice work out room and pool. I used the work out room. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. The only thing I didn’t like is the bathroom trash can was dirty. No bag inside. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned.

Loved the room, loved the hotel. I just wish the pool was open all night, you can only card in till 11 pm Most Best Western properties with pools keep the pool open 24 hrs.

The facility had a nice, good size area with tables for eating...whether some brought their own food or for the breakfast in morning. A nice large screen TV in entry vestibule...yet limited to a couch for 3 and a table for 4, yet a room off to side could also see if people want watch party. The staff very courteous and friendly, however there seemed to be many young children, 6-12, and several loud guests on my floor (tv was very loud---rooms not sound-proof). Overall though...look at the positive...it was mostly a good stay, good location near Williams, and clean place.

Everything was great EXCEPT the person in the room next to me turned their TV on extra loud at 4:45 am! I tried going to the shared door and yelling for them to turn it down but either they didn't hear me or ignored me. Having the EV chargers is a huge plus - thanks for putting those in!

Good easy parking and convenient. Jacuzzi pool chlorine was too strong couldn’t use it

Basic hotel near Williams, decent breakfast but no food or drink options at the hotel for lunch and dinner. Small gym with a few treadmills and two elliptical and free weights.

I was upset to see that the hotel bar set up was dark and not operational when I checked in. One of the main reason why I chose this location. You shouldn't advertise it if it isn't operational or able to be enjoyed during your stay. Other than that, the stay was excellent!!

Comfortable bed, extremely clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff.

We have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed our stay so we decided to stay here again. Upon arrival the property looked unkempt. Weeds growing high, a water feature in front broken and a safety hazard. Walking to the elevators floors dirty and dried spilled coffee? Hallways not vacuumed.Musty smelling overall. Once we got into our room the sheets were clean so we had a clean bed to sleep in. When we went to use the bathroom, we noticed the shower stall was moldy and pink scum was starting to form in the corner. The track for the shower door was full of mold and dirt. The floor tile was filthy too. I couldn’t believe I was in the same hotel as we had experienced the prior years. Oh and hopefully you arrive after the gentleman is finished with “housekeeping duties” because his music is extremely loud and can be heard in the room.

Excellent hotel. Clean and friendly, relatively quiet. Decent breakfast. Only issue was toenails on carpet. Rooms should be vacuumed more thoroughly.

The lobby was very musty smelling , tile floors were dirty. Lack of grab bar in tub shower difficult for older adults to safely shower.

At check the front desk wasnt particularly friendly but enough to get by. But when we went to our room they gave us a room that hadn't been cleaned . The bed wasn't made towels on floor ext. It was like 4:30p and it wasn't done. It was kind of gross. When we went back down, they just looked at me with a confused face and took the keys. Then gave us another room near the original. BUT not a single I'm so sorry! Nothing to make up for confusion Nothing. Which was was like Wow! But not worth my time to get all angry. I just felt it could have been handled way better.

Hard to find the place from the street. We drove by 3 times before we found it hidden back offroad. One tiny sign on the street, and every time we left the hotel and came back, it was still hard to find. Other than that, this place could be really nice, but for us it just became a collection of failures, any one of which was unacceptable. We rented a suite, which was of good size and comfortable. But on arrival, we found the fridge did not work, as it had about a 100-pound block of ice stuck inside. It was obvious that the room had been unoccupied for quite some time, and the staff admitted to that. The Wi-Fi did not work in the room, so we had to go to the lobby for access, and even that was very spotty and unreliable. The HVAC in the room would constantly shut itself off after only a few minutes of operation, and often the AC would switch itself over to heat and it would become unbearable in the room. The staff said sorry, it is an updated system and they are still working on it. The sink in the bathroom was so plugged up that it would not drain at all, even when filled up to the overflow. 3rd day we got that fixed, and as soon as we used it, found out that the plumber had not properly reconnected the drain piping and the water ran out all over the floor. For luggage carts, they had these little 3-wheeled carts that could hold nothing and would tip over if too loaded, requiring 3 trips to load and unload. Shower curtain was foot too short to cover the shower.??

Heating system is on the roof. It made a lot of noise in a third floor room.

WE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE HVAC SYSTEM. COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE WAY TO GET PROPER HEAT OR COOLING. WE HAD TO MOVE OUR ROOM, BUT STILL HAD TROUBLE WITH THE HVAC.

Overall a good stay. Minor details to improve would be a night light in the bathroom or lighted switches. Also an outlet on each side of the bed.

Rooms were unclean. They said we would were in a Mountain View Suite, no way you could view any mountain.

Staff was very accomidating, but heat.in our room was indesirable. We arrived and the temperature in our room was only 62 degrees. It was cery cold and windy outside...low 20s. The thermostat control was very confusing and slow. It took close to 4 hours for the room to get to 72. I had to wear my winter coat! Bby 8:30 or 9 pm it finally got warm. The internet was very slow and would not feceive or send messages. We paid over $175 for this room.

Walls are a bit thin but not terrible.

We were woken up at 8 am by housekeeping who knocked and barged in the room I witnessed the front desk employees in a swearing shouting match outside the lobby entry. I believe I was charged more than I should have been.

We were staying at the Fairfield property in Williamstown MA. It’s a new clean well run hotel with all the amenities. Our checkin was sched for Monday 7/3 at 4 pm. Our son is hiking the Appalachian Trail which crosses right through Williamstown. We made a plan with him to connect and get him into a hotel room for a night to clean, eat, sleep and wash and dry his clothing and gear. (It’s been raining for weeks in the East, he was a drown rat when we encountered him.) I called the hotel at 10:00 am on 7/3 to inquire if we could use the laundry facilities at the hotel even though I knew we could not check in til 4pm. The woman who answered , Bethany, could not have been nicer or more inviting, so we headed directly to the hotel expecting just to start laundry and cleaning and then to occupy ourselves til 4 pm. While at the desk inquiring and getting quarters for the coin op laundry machines the hotel manager, Mike, overheard the conversation about our son being an AT hiker, and he stepped out and with what seemed like the wave of a magic wand and kind words to our son about helping him get cleaned up and rested right away, we had 2 beautiful rooms with king beds, one for us one for our tired, wet, son. Mike saved the day, it was an act of kindness we’ll not ever forget. We were in our rooms by 10:30 am, and it made all the difference in the world to him and us. If you visit Williamstown, stay at this hotel and if you’re lucky you’ll meet Mike and Bethany, two kind people

Pre-booking was difficult and confusing. All I wanted was 3 rooms for 6 people. When I tried to book direct, I was directed to booking sites instead. Ahead of time, I was given a suite, which I didn’t need, and a king bed instead of two queens. When we arrived, the people with me wanted to pay for their own rooms. The people at the desk were very accommodating but had to work around the online bookings to make sure I didn’t pay for all three rooms. The staff helped me get three double bed rooms next to each other, and assisted my fellow travelers in paying for their own share of the cost. But it was very confusing. Prebooking should not have been this complicated.

The property and staff working at the Fairfield were excellent. The complimentary breakfast was fine each day from Thursday through Sunday. The weekend breakfasts included scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage and waffles. There was plenty of bagels, muffins, cold cereal, oatmeal and fresh fruit available along with coffee, juice and milk for children. There was a minor issue with one of the televisions in the room and the staff tried to fix the issue without a problem. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this property

Decent place to stay, staff unsure of how to work their system to let each person pay for their own room as we were told they could do. Were told st checkin that it could be fixed next morning but they didn’t. Not overly nice about trying

The room was very clean and spacious with a high ceiling and the staff was especially kind. Very convenient since it is right next to Williams college, a gas station, and there is even a nice Chinese restaurant near that is open till late (many other restaurants close pretty early)

We had an awesome, spacious room! It was nice to have breakfast daily, but options were limited and it was the same every day.

The hotel was clean, attractive and had very helpful staff. It's breakfasts were good.

Very pricey for the area and breakfast was not very good.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The only frustrating aspect was how long it took to toast our bread and English muffins in the morning at breakfast. The toaster works very slowly.

This was the worst breakfast I have ever encountered at a hotel. I opted for the seemingly safe scone. It was not unlike putting a spoon of raw flour in my mouth.

This hotel is a good value for what you pay per night. My only complaint is that the breakfast buffet uses paper plates, paper cups, and plastic cutlery. This is not a cheap takeout place! Use real china and silverware.
