Hotel TOTTO Wollongong

Great location, easy parking for $25 per night. Great to see a family of 4 room option - bunk beds over the king bed - genius. Hotel encourages checking in/out via kiosk or on your phone, which is convenient but seems unnecessary when there is then staff floating around, not very personable or welcoming! But overall a great hotel in the heart of Wollongong at still reasonable prices

Check in service seems slow, Self check in didn’t seem to work for anyone either But all in all lovely place

Small room for cost, no breakfast as chef late, paid for parking and carpark full when we returned at night. A fire alarm going off in the middle of the night capped it all off!

The garage says 2.1m clearance, however the top of our vehicle hit a sewerage pipe at the back of our park, leaving a scratch on our vehicle. Also, the air conditioner in our room was terrible, it turned on and off every 5 minutes and was extremely loud.

Has nice facilities and enjoyed our room. However when I booked it said there was parking but we had to pay an extra $25 to park in their basement carpark. Also the room is small for the price.

Pros - location is right in the city, close to WIN stadium and the beach. Cons - No milk/cream for the in room coffee, although I think that was an oversight in my room, as the other room in our group had some. The rooms are fairly small as well, with a desk, and a stool/ottoman thing but no chair. And the really weird thing, was no phone in the room, so I couldn't even call down to the front desk to get the missing coffee cream. Other - Check in was automated, which some people loved, but I'm not a huge fan of. Cards are printed and issued through a McDonald's style self service touchscreen, although the restaurant/bar staff are also there to cover the desk if needed. Parking was a bit on the pricey side, but I could be a little jaded as when we stayed here a year ago they provided the parking for free. On the other hand, as long as we paid for one spot, they didn't mind us parking three motorcycles in it.

My experience with Hotel TOTTO was less than satisfactory. While I appreciate the convenience of the hotel's location, there were several significant issues that hindered my overall enjoyment.The lack of communication about the ongoing lift maintenance was a considerable inconvenience. I was surprised upon arrival to find out that the lift was not operational and that I had to use a fire stairwell from the car park to the lobby. Additionally, reaching my floor required using a staff service lift. The room was small (king bedroom)and poorly maintained, with a dirty toilet bowl. The worst part was the inadequate soundproofing, causing disturbances from nearby doors closing and a loud bar fridge beside the bed.

Rooms small but clean and comfortable. Good position in city with secure car park. Problem with air conditioner being very noisy

We got upgraded to a King bed a fractionally bigger room with a nice outlook. The staff were very friendly and had a “can do” approach at all times. The fridge was making a vibration noise, which I managed to fix by jamming a newspaper under one corner. The bed was very comfortable. We couldn’t get the kettle working and needed an iron/ironing board. Call the front desk and the staff member bought a new kettle and sorted the problem. Also bought an iron and board. Was a bit disappointed that the iron had burn marks and was concerned that it might mark my shirt, however it worked fine. Would suggest that housekeeping could clean irons that guests have made a mess of, before they get handed out again. Was going to have breakfast there in the morning, but was disappointed that they only offered a Continental breakfast, so wandered down the street and found a great cafe. Undercover secure parking was excellent. All in all was pretty good and very well located. Would definitely stay there again.

Parking was a nightmare, the milk in the fridge was off & lumpy, air conditioning unit was extremely noisy had to turn off & was then too cold, overall experience was not good at all.

We stayed on Saturday night hoping for a quiet, relaxing getaway after the roughest year of our lives, but it was far from restful. The biggest issue was noise. Fatboy Pride & Grill is open until 3:30 am, and the noise from people leaving after drinking was extremely loud. It bounced off the buildings straight into our room. The window didn’t seem to be acoustic glass, and even with it closed you could feel a breeze through the seals, so the soundproofing was very poor. Inside the accommodation it wasn’t much better. The room doors don’t have a soft-close mechanism, so every time someone left their room it sounded like a door slamming shut, which made us jump and made resting impossible. The aircon was another problem. It cooled the room loudly and every time it switched back on it made a louder rumbling noise like a car starting beside the bed. My partner is a deep sleeper and even he couldn’t sleep. We ended up getting up around 2 am and decided to just do a lap around the street because it was impossible to relax in the room. After that, we were basically waiting until around 3:30 am when Fatboy Pride & Grill finally closed so it would quieten down. The room design was nice, but cleanliness wasn’t great (shower and sink drain mouldy) The window doesn’t open fully and there’s no fly screen, so the room heats up quickly and becomes uncomfortable. If you’re looking for rest, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We left more exhausted than when we arrived.

I feel like my room hadn’t been cleaned prior to checking in the bed linen was stained and the bathroom was filthy with hair other matter splashed on the basin.

The room is clean,staffs are friendly

The all staffs are very nice and kind to me. I appreciate the housekeepers every day clean my room.

Drain flies flying out of the drain of the bathroom, and then when given a different room there were hairs in the sheets. Sheets seemed to not have been washed after last person. Had to sleep on top of the covers.

Had to change rooms as a mattress had huge brown stains on it. Fridge in this room was extremely loud and toilet roll holder was coming off wall. Staff were amazing about this and offered new room. In new room, had another stain on doona that was in between the two sheets. Stain looked fresh like it wasn’t even changed. Staff again were very apologetic and had room made up again. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and it was extremely noisy until about 3am. Motorbikes and cars hooning up and down the street, a huge fight between 2 men on the street near our window-swearing loudly, kicking, punching each other, with one kicking the cars up and down the street. Not a great experience. Won’t be staying again.

There was hair on one of the beds so we slept in too. The shower head was tied together with a hair tie

The location was fantastic, room was clean. The staff and the check in and out process was simple. The air-conditioner was really really loud which made it difficult to sleep but too stuffy in the room to turn it off.

Unfortunately the room air-conditioning had to be turn off before going to sleep because it was just to loud. Possibly the motor is not outside !!!

The bed was very basic and uncomfortable. The room was clean and neat but there was a loud wind roaring down the hall and something was banging loudly. The breakfast was ok but no eggs available.

I have never paid 190 a night for such an awful night sleep, no sound proofing in the room the party goers on the street may as well been in the room with you.... the loudest aircon you could imagine.

Great location in the city centre. Room is clean but on the small side. No place to unpack your suitcase.

This was one of the least personal hotel experiences we ever had. Checkin was via a touch screen app. The machine had a fault and so wouldn’t accept my phone payment. Luckily my husband had his wallet otherwise I’m not sure what would have happened. We paid the additional parking fee of $25 and a nearly $5 charge to use my savings card. The room was clean and serviceable with no frills. The bathroom was well appointed and also clean. The bed was small and not very comfortable unfortunately. Bring your own pillow. It’s a good location and close to the main shops and eat streets. During the night an evacuation alarm sounded. The entire hotel had to evacuate via fire stairs and wait outside around midnight. Eventually we were let back in with no direction, explanation or apology from any staff member. In the morning this was again not addressed on check out by the disinterested seeming staff. Nobody checked on our experience, just directed us to the check out machine. Overall a pretty average experience.

Parking is great free in public car park. Staff are not helpful. No explanation on what we need to do to get our $25 food and beverages free. We booked 2 rooms and ordered using one room and they wouldn't count the other room free money. Very disappointed with the beds and pillows they are so terrible. Will never stay here again. Theres no toilet brush too.

The staff need to learn the meaning of hospitality. Rude and have no customer focus and terrible attitude as if they customers are a hindrance. Will not be back.

Very poor value for money. Incredibly small room, should be illigal. Staff seemed to be new to the job, always asked somebody else, who was never sure either. Buffet breakfast was left unattended, so had to ask for re-supply, but only staff member was also doing reception and making coffee. More staff is required, especially as no bar or food available sunday and monday

I stayed 2 nights during the week, room was not serviced even though I left the note on the outside of the door. Staff were polite but seemed to very flat out and could not give the quality of service you should receive - it appeared they were short staff. Meals from the restaurant was average. The air-conditioned in the room - was extremely noise and would not change for heat to cool - I reported this to the staff which they did not fix.

Great location , perfect for one night stay

Great hotel located in the centre! Fabulous cafes and restaurants around. Suitable for families, singles and retirees. Definitely worth a visit and recommend trying happy hour! Fantastic venue.

Great location, surrounded by shopping, pubs and restaurants. On the weekends the car park across the road is free and we were lucky enough to get a park. Staff were so friendly and welcoming! The hotel itself feels a little tired but dressed up and styled well. Aircon was a bit clunky and old but overall the smallish room was pretty good value. Will definitely stay again when we visit Wollongong again

This is my go-to hotel in Wollongong! The staff are all very nice, accommodating and friendly. Nothing is a problem! Location and parking is also convenient.

The staff were excellent, friendly and courteous. Great location for dining and excellent in-house breakfast. Room was clean and well appointed.

Room was very clean. Water pressure was great. I think some additional shelving in bathroom would be helpful. Only sink available to put toiletries. I also think that food was under seasoned & over priced, especially breakfast, but there are multiple restaurants within walking distance that were very good. I appreciated laundry facility on site but there was no detergent available - bring your own. Great location within city. Close to bus stops & 10-15 min walk to train station. Staff was great.

Myself and adult children had a couple of stays on consecutive nights in "petite queen" rooms - small, basic but comfy and spotlessly clean, with parking included on a very good rate. Comfortable bed. Internet adequate but some buffering during streaming. Nice bar though suspected overcharge for drinks, and no itemisation available when requested. Restaurant OK though one of my breakfasts was awful. Staff helpful and friendly. Despite a few reservations, this hotel compares well against local competitors, and I'd stay here again.
