The ART INN Seattle

The room was good and the small day bed in room 103 was super comfy. The keyless entry was really horrible though and a pain to deal with. Also, it would be nice to receive check in instructions and car/parking information the day before check in. Cars needed to be 18' or less and I brought my truck. Luckily I got it into the spot without blocking the alley but it would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Parking in a dark back alley is very worrisome. Don’t know if someone will harm you or if the car will be broken into.

The room I stayed in was a bit odd with a daybed in the entry room and three different steps up to the adjacent bedroom, which needed to be navigated at night to use the restroom which was on the opposite side of the entry. Also, there were three sets of portable earplugs on the table upon entering. The building is adjacent to a street that gets early morning noise around 5:00 and is also on the flyout route from SEATAC. I was awakened by noise all three nights I stayed there: Friday through Sunday. Getting entry to the room required multiple emails and downloading an app and getting multiple texts with codes. Quite a bit of cellphone effort for one short stay. The only upside was included off-street parking in non-secured stalls behind the building.

Great property, very close to the swedish hospital. Very nice place to stay. Walkable to the hospital & restaurants. Comfortable beds! Clean and safe. Fully gated.

Inn is in converted house. Nice atmosphere, parking a little rough in the back alley, but usable. Hotel staff was excellent, friendly and helpful.

Basement "Comfort Studio" apartment: Pros: large space, clean, great shower, big soft beds, big TV, sofa, mini-fridge, sink, microwave, free parking. Cons: ridiculously convoluted check-in procedure *requires* uploading passport and other personal information that should be private; required to download their app to get an online key that doesn't work - had to wait for them to respond to text to get access to a lockbox with physical key cards; room was cold and clammy - offered Starbucks drink as compensation for not being able to turn the heat back on; no staff on site; noisy - you will hear every squeaking footstep of the people in the rooms above; no parking instructions until after we had already parked in their tight squeeze parking area; 6'6" ceiling with 6'0" beams - tall people should avoid this one. It was a convenient location in walking distance for a conference at Swedish Hospital, but doubt that we would stay there again.

They extended my parking after check out for free which was so appreciated. The room was nice, had all the amenities and a very nice bathroom. There was no door between the bedroom and bathroom. I did not hear my neighbors when they were in their room. The location was almost too good to be true. The neighborhood was extremely walkable and close to anything you could possibly want. That includes that club that was directly across the street and going off between 10pm-2am. Seemed like a great time, I felt like I was there. The Art Inn did provide ear plugs which was thoughtful. This is a historic house converted into a bnb style inn. You could hear doors slamming, people walking up and down the stairs, and conversations that were being had outside the rooms. I will stay here again with the intention of checking out the club across the street, not if I have to work in the morning.

First for the positive reviews, if you have a family member attending Seattle University it’s only a short walk to the dorms. In our room the HVAC system worked well. For those who wish to pay extra for parking, there is a gravel/paved lot behind the house shared by a common road that you can park your car away from the main road. Now for, the not so great parts. The property surrounding the house is full of garbage, around the landscaping and sidewalk. The entry the rooms requires you to go up steep steps and the stairs handles are far out of reach. Not a place for a disabled person. Our room was ok. When you entered your room, the space is divide by two spaces the first entry area has a twin size bed and the second space is where the king size bed is. Caution! You must go up three steps to go into this space. I took a spill as the steps are a different floor material. The first step is a different flooring and the next two are the same color of the carpet, making it hard to see the steps. Thank goodness I didn’t get hurt. The windows are fogged up due to seal failure of the dual pane windows. The curtains are vinyl sheets that are placed barely covering the windows. The bathroom is small and the shower water temperature was warm. The walls in the bathroom had the brackets left over of what use to be a towel ring or robe hook that was no longer there. I was under the impression this place was an old charming restored charm inn. Unfortunately it fell short of that.

Convenient location. Difficulty to accessing room key as their digital system was not working and I was not advised of this in advance. I had to text them and wait for their call back which was inconvenient. The female staff who did assist was very helpful and friendly. There were black marks on the white sheets and the blanket had a lot of hair on it.

The exterior areas were well maintained but the room was not. A significant ceiling area had been patched and not painted, the shower was dirty with rusted/stained hardware and curtain. The bed was comfortable and clean but given the state of conditions otherwise, it was an uncomfortable stay.

Unfortunately the app sucked, it just didn't work, got "error" msgs with multiple attempts while fumbling in the cold outside the placeat night. Also, no live person to answer phone call, must text and wait fora return call. Ended up prying a physical keycard out of a coded lockbox on the door to get into the place. Room #203 w king bed was basic and fine, some long brown hair on bathroom counter but otherwise not too worn down, fairly clean. Sleep interrupted by loud thumping bass guitar riffs played repetitively from 10pm until past1am, impossible to sleep. If the app had worked as promised and there was no loud noise at night, place woulda been fine for the price. But, as it was, it was a disappointing experience.

This moldy Airbnb was deceptively classified as a 3 star hotel. Sadly, we paid a huge price for a sham. I can’t unsmell the smell of the rooms -old mold. Moreover, the sheets appeared lightly used and fluffed for the next victim/guest.I itched like hell each night.And oh,the bugs and the giant mosquitoes in the claustrophobic basement. We were unprepared to be in a dungeon,changing rooms made no differ The tight bathrooms with dark small shower stalls were irky especially with black mold inbetween the joints. Due to the dinginess of the whole place we intentionally stayed out till very late to limit our exposure to the whole junk. I have never in my life spent a night in a hotel worse than this and I mostly use 3 or 4 star hotel.We were duped.This is morally wrong. This place is a joke . They used the Art picture to create a deceptive image. Unfortunately, they are able to get away with this crime because most victims have paid and can’t get their money back.The Art Inn of Seattle needs public health inspection.It is unfair. I am a healthcare professional and was tempted to call and report immediately. Exposing visitors to mold is evil. Expedia and other sites must remove them from their list until they address these issues which looks chronic because the rooms reeks the smell. Please covering evil with while comforters and art pictures does not make evil go away. This needs to be checked and addressed. We were seriously traumatized and dreaded every of our 3 nights there. .

We never saw any staff, but the room was easy to find. The room was quite small, but the bathroom was huge. It was clean and quiet! I would definitely book again.

The room smelled like mold and there was no one working - it took 20 minutes to get the key out of the lockbox

Firstly, this is not a hotel. It is house that has been split into a bunch of separate rooms. I was “upgraded” to the Secret Room. A large basement suite will very low ceilings, two king/queen beds, and it’s own bathroom. At 6’2” I kept hitting my head on the beams on the roof and had to squat in the shower. The bathroom door was noticeably dirty, the shower nob was broken off, and the room smelled musty. On the upside it would sleep 4 comfortably and there was free water. Overall, I would not stay here again.

There is a night club directly across the street from the art inn and there was music playing until 3:00am. It was so loud there was no way the windows of the house could keep out the noise. If it weren’t for the noise, I still would not have been able to sleep because the bed was so soft. Both my husband and I felt like we were sleeping in a bean bag chair. Lastly the curtains didn’t block out the outdoor light so it was almost as bright as day the whole night. If you want to sleep at all while you are in Seattle I do not recommend this Inn

The room was clean the phone key didnt work on the gate but did work.on the front door and room. The room was clean the tv was internet the wifi was inconsistant. Only 2 bath towels 4 would have been nice

Tiny room with bath. No frills but clean and a place to sleep after our concert. Finding anything affordable in Seattle is challenging. Other guests were noisy. Our room was right by the front door. Club across the street had loud music til closing (Sat night). They do provide ear plugs.

The rooms are definitely not as nice as the pictures. The first room we got wasn't what we reserved, and there was no door for the bathroom, just a sheer curtain. I had some issues with my card and needed to change it and I couldn't get a hold of anybody before check in. So keep in mind that if you need anything ahead of time or have questions you won't get any response until after 3:00 p.m. The day you check in. This this just wasn't very pleasant place to stay.

Nice place. Would have liked to know there was no door on the bathroom but it was great otherwise. Needed coffee machine instructions or it was broken. I’d stay again as it was nice and clean!

Room was very nicely decorated and well provisioned. We hated not having a person to check us in - will make sure we do not book into human-less accomodation again. When we finally did get a call to assist us the lady was very helpful.

Our stay was flawless and very easy! First and foremost, the communication was incredible. Clear instructions for how to get there, where the parking was, and how to access the rooms. They were also very quick to respond. I had some questions and heard back quickly each time. Accessing the rooms was easy! There were no on-site staff members to help but it’s not needed. You download the app and have access to your room through your phone. The rooms were very clean and fun, too! It’s built out in a massive house and they’ve done a great job. Very much separate like a hotel, but unique layout like a home. Best of both worlds. They even let us have a late checkout which was extremely helpful and I’m thankful it worked out with timing. We’ll be back!!

We had some issues on our end (completely our fault) and the property manager was so helpful and friendly through all of it. She really went above and beyond with customer service. To top it off, the inn is such an adorable stay! Decorations were so cute, the bed was a nice thick memory foam that was so comfy, they have rain showers in the bathroom that were very relaxing. It truly was a 10/10 stay!

Unfortunately I was not able to access my room in a timely manner, my party and I found a hotel elsewhere due to the uncertainty we faced. I was unable to access my room upon arrival and for quite a while afterwards. I did not receive communication via text when I was in contact with the phone number provided and did not receive an email back in that time. My call logs do not reflect an attempt to get into contact with me despite my attempts to reach out. Due to the significant inconvenience we faced I tried to contact the owner to ask for a refund for the troubles we experienced but two days later I have not heard from them. Would not recommend this property due to the uncertain we faced and difficulty with communication.

The staff via email/text/phone were amazing. When I first got there, i was confused.. however the staff on the phone was super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The on site staff were sweet and friendly. I would totally stay there again when I visit Seattle!

No onsite staff but remote staff quickly resolved our access issue. Room is cozy but met our needs for sleeping and showering.

There is no customer service at this location. It is in an area that doesn’t feel particularly safe. Also it is very noisy.

Walking distance to Swedish Hospital

The shower was very nice...a renovated older home, and I liked the decor. It was a little off putting that there are no real people or desk there, though. Also, I noticed the loud, booming music nearby despite the earplugs provided. Very convenient location to the hospital where I was visiting family, however.

The bar across the street played very loud music on Thursday night till 2 am. Wish I knew. Not cool.

Go to The Art Inn website and download the app because it is typically used for electronic keys to access the property. There were troubles with the app before my stay but I was sent instructions to obtain hard keys in the lock boxes at the entrance of the property. Room was very small and compact but it was all I needed. Very clean and updated. My only complaint would be that could not open the window to get any fresh air into the room. I would also make use of the earplugs if you are a light sleeper because the walls are rather thin. Peleton Cafe across the street is an excellent breakfast spot. The hotel is very close to a bus stop and easy walking distance to a few restaurants and bars.

We liked the area and the Inn. Good restaurants and cafes close by and easy walk or Uber to downtown.

The property was clean and efficient. I needed to be close to the hospital and I was very concerned about safety. I felt very safe at the ART INN. Easy Uber drop off and pick up. Restaurants on either side and a lounge across the street!

Quaint little motel with awesome resteraunt across the street and University neighborhood with lots of things to do. Small room had everything I needed. Very Seattle 'ish'!

Although there is no staff on site, the staff was very helpful, accommodating and responsive. Place was nice. Bed was super comfy! Nice cafe across the street. Easy to catch the bus that takes you right into downtown.

Really nice alternative to a big hotel. The Ethiopian restaurant next door is yummy!
