Beautiful property very relaxing. Pancakes were perfectly fluffy as you’d expect from a great country inn. Short walk to Stella’s (yum!!) or the on-premise Tavern. Tavern wasn’t open as we were there mid-week but it looked adorable.

Dowd’s is a beautiful historic building situated right on the Common of Lyme, New Hampshire. Walking distance to Post Office, Italian restaurant, Country store. It’s like a postcard. Our stay was like visiting friends. We’ve stayed here twice. Breakfast offerings were diverse and delicious. We’ll be back!

Unfortunately the Tavern eatery was closed so the only food available was at Stella’s Italian Restaurant next door. Stella’s was delicious and expensive. All in all, it’s a fine place to stay. Colonial & cozy.

Love old buildings and this one has been maintained with live and style. Loved all the porches and quiet nooks to unwind. Comfortable bed. Excellent coffee. Caring hostess. Wish I had time to explore the grounds.

Super comfortable, attached to the tavern which has amazing food. The breakfast that is included is not your mass produced slop. They make it from scratch for each person and it’s delicious. Will happily stay/eat here again.

The inn is in a beautiful, quiet setting. It was convenient before the bridge construction started but is less so now. It also used to have a nice tavern but that’s closed. The rooms are clean but not at all fancy. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent but the included breakfast was good. I hope they can put some more money into it and stay afloat.

The property is lovely and the staff very attentive. I will recommend this Inn to anyone planning to go to the New Hampshire area. I hope that the Inn Keepers will be able to find the staff to open their Tavern again. We missed being able to eat there.

The Marshland looks like it had a leak. The room smelt of mold. We are in out late 60's. The stairs were difficult. When my wife asked for another room she was teated very rudely. There was very noisy wedding reception with people everywhere. No place to relax. Not worth the money.

Comfortable Inn, well kept, well managed, excellent service, fine breakfast. Not ultra luxurious but more than sufficient with large bedrooms, comfortalble beds, and large common rooms.

Our room was very comfortable and well maintained. The upstairs water pressure was a little weak, but we were still able to shower, etc. without a problem. There were several choices for the included breakfast, which also include gluten free/celiac friendly options, which I appreciated. We are not first time guests and will stay again if in the area.

Our room was super cute and very clean. I really liked taking with the inn keeper and she was very helpful. As a matter of fact, we left something behind by accident and she went out of her way to go find the item. When she located it, she called me and mailed it out the same day. This was so appreciated! When we are in the area again, we will make this our first choice.

We were so impressed by the Dowd’s Country Inn! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly from the minute we walked in. The property is also beautiful, with clearly historic details that have been very well maintained. Our room was lovely and comfortable, though my only qualms were low water pressure and the bed was a bit firm for my liking. Possibly the highlight was the amazing breakfast, included in your stay. They make your breakfast to order and have several options. I got pancakes and my fiancé had an omelet; both were absolutely delicious.

What a lovely little inn. The room was perfect. The staff was friendly. It was New England charm at its finest. The inn keeper had celiac like my daughter so for the first time we could eat breakfast! I can’t say enough good things about this inn. Oh and the inn dogs were the icing on the cake.

The only drawback was the ac/heat window unit that was really noisy in our room. Otherwise, a pleasant stay. The Inn offers the atmosphere of the private dwelling that it was once. We liked it and the absence of a TV in the room did not bother us. Very quiet little town.

I decided to stay here based on seeing the good reviews but my experience was different. The staff were nice but not at all personable. My room had a paper thin wall it shared with the room next to it. The floor creaked so badly as the other room’s occupants were walking around that it sounded like they were in my room. It kept waking me up. The bed was hard and the only cover I had was the quilt/bed cover which was thin and uncomfortable. The in is very old and in need of a big renovation. The breakfast was included in the price, which I liked but it wasn’t at all as great as the reviews told. The area was nice and quiet and close to an Italian restaurant, which was ok.

Just stayed for one night for a work trip but it was so cozy. Breakfast service was a little slow but so delicious and everyone was so so nice and friendly. The room was comfortable and the grounds are beautiful! Loved that I could just walk next door to have a wonderful meal at Stella’s, too! Special shout out to Duncan for checking us in and being so sweet!

This inn makes you feel like you are being welcomed into the home of an old friend. Everyone is very gracious and helpful. This is a beautiful area of the country and I plan to return to hike and explore the area more.

Our room was super cute and very clean. I really liked taking with the inn keeper and she was very helpful. As a matter of fact, we left something behind by accident and she went out of her way to go find the item. When she located it, she called me and mailed it out the same day. This was so appreciated! When we are in the area again, we will make this our first choice.

It was a very cute and cozy getaway with very friendly staff. The inn itself was so nicely decorated and breakfast/coffee was delicious. The only thing that bothered us was how there was no one at the entrance after 9pm and how all the doors were unlocked. Felt extremely quiet and unsafe at night. Besides that the rooms eere beautiful and we had a very lovely ski getaway!

Very charming, extremely well managed property. Staff were very engaging and the grounds were spotless. The room and bed were comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. A great quiet spot about 15 minutes north of Hanover.

The Inn was cute and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! Two doors down was Stella's Italian Restaurant with great food and an incredible bakery, so very convenient to the Inn! The town closes up early, so be prepared.

Dowd’s is a beautiful historic building situated right on the Common of Lyme, New Hampshire. Walking distance to Post Office, Italian restaurant, Country store. It’s like a postcard. Our stay was like visiting friends. We’ve stayed here twice. Breakfast offerings were diverse and delicious. We’ll be back!

This inn makes you feel like you are being welcomed into the home of an old friend. Everyone is very gracious and helpful. This is a beautiful area of the country and I plan to return to hike and explore the area more.

The inn is in a beautiful, quiet setting. It was convenient before the bridge construction started but is less so now. It also used to have a nice tavern but that’s closed. The rooms are clean but not at all fancy. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent but the included breakfast was good. I hope they can put some more money into it and stay afloat.

Centrally located in Lyme, NH. Next to a Country General Store to buy food and snacks. Great breakfast each day at the Inn. Nice family run Bed and Breakfast. Friendly atmosphere and clean rooms. Would stay again if in the area.

Beautiful property very relaxing. Pancakes were perfectly fluffy as you’d expect from a great country inn. Short walk to Stella’s (yum!!) or the on-premise Tavern. Tavern wasn’t open as we were there mid-week but it looked adorable.

We were so impressed by the Dowd’s Country Inn! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly from the minute we walked in. The property is also beautiful, with clearly historic details that have been very well maintained. Our room was lovely and comfortable, though my only qualms were low water pressure and the bed was a bit firm for my liking. Possibly the highlight was the amazing breakfast, included in your stay. They make your breakfast to order and have several options. I got pancakes and my fiancé had an omelet; both were absolutely delicious.

What a lovely little inn. The room was perfect. The staff was friendly. It was New England charm at its finest. The inn keeper had celiac like my daughter so for the first time we could eat breakfast! I can’t say enough good things about this inn. Oh and the inn dogs were the icing on the cake.

The property is lovely and the staff very attentive. I will recommend this Inn to anyone planning to go to the New Hampshire area. I hope that the Inn Keepers will be able to find the staff to open their Tavern again. We missed being able to eat there.

We couldn't have picked a better week to come to NH in the fall. The color was beautiful and our stay at Dowds bnb was lovely. The bed was comfy, we had our own bathroom, the other guests seem respectful of noise and the breakfast was delicious. There are no TV's in the room so bring your laptop if you want to watch a movie or anything else. We would definitely stay here again. The staff was excellent.

Hands down the best place I have ever stayed. 10/10 recommend. An absolute must for anyone staying in New Hampshire or over the river in Vermont. Beautiful scenery. Clean rooms. Plenty of relaxing areas. Breakfast is five stars. The staff is friendly and amazing. Mrs. Tami is funny and extremely nice. Thanks again y’all got the most amazing stay ever. I cannot wait to come visit again!

We had an amazing stay in the Dowds Country Inn on our way back from Vermont. We were greeted by a friendly staff and in the morning had breakfast that exceeded our expectations. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful place with an atmosphere in the area.
