Perfect for Maldon town centre, located directly off the main High Street. Small car park was located at the rear, but easy to find a parking space on a Saturday despite the run up to Christmas. Reception area was warm and pleasant and the room perfectly adequate. Bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom spotless. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast offered in the morning was plentiful. Can be a little noisy in the evening, but after pub closing time it was very quiet.

Very pleasant 1-night stay - nice, fresh room, clean & in good condition; breakfast adequate - freshly looked to order and perfectly ok, if not great. Beautiful old building bursting with history, helpful and friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. Easy and free parking round the back. Only downside is the very steep stais to the second floor, worth bearing in mind for anyone with mobility issues.

Lovely hotel. We stayed in studio it was spotlessly clean. Only slight thing was to change air conditioning settings you had to stand on arm of sofa, maintenence man came over and helped us though. Very comfy nice and quiet. Great blackout blinds and comfy bed made for a nice lay in. Pub was really quaint nice old features. Breakfast was so good, staff so friendly and helpful. Great location in High Street. Would come back.

Room was clean and the young person was so very helpful Breakfast was excellent and cooked perfect both mornings I commented to the young chef that cooked our breakfast on Wednesday morning. What a fantastic job he had made. Even the waitress listen to instructions about tea and toast and followed them to the letter The only thing I’d probably say that was missing was the attached pub/bar only did lunchtime meals and not evening

good to re-visit. I worked here for several previous managers and owners, even having our wedding night here. rooms have been upgraded with new bathrooms and amenities like tv, tea/coffee etc. Breakfast very good, and very helpful staff. Bar welcoming with real fires. Highly recommend

Staff were great, breakfast was very good. Easy parking. A very old building and theyve done their best to modernise it. I felt the access from the pub into the the hotel area was perhaps less secure than most hotels. On the whole a good experience at the Blue Boar.

I liked all things about the property , plenty of choice at breakfast , could do with decorating, cleaning , dead fly on dinning room window sill 3 days running . Plenty of clean towels , tea/milk replenished when asked. But pillows were awful ! Lumpy , need replacing.

Told on arrival our room was upstairs; which it wasn't. After bringing everything back down we were told it was outside. Room was good and clean- perfect for 1 night. Great location for surroundings.

Lovely room bathroom great bed was nice pillows of which spoilt our nights sleep probably came out of pound land and the only other thing was couldn't understand was why there was a coffee table for a drink station much to low! We had a drink in the bar opposite waited 10 minutes for the red headed bar staff member to come back from the court yard to serve without even saying sorry for your wait which i found exceptional rude. But on a good note the breakfast was lovely.

Fatastic hotel and our room and ensuite was lovely, my only issue was the mattress was rather noisy. Breakfast was lovely but please try either Linda McCartney or Cauldren veggie sausages as even meat eaters love them. If we're ever in the area again we'll definately stay at The Blue Boar. The staff were lovely too.

Excellent stay. The hotel team were friendly and welcoming. We were able to transfer our booked room to a downstairs room. That’s a big thank you. Breakfast was cooked to order and was perfect. Excellent location. The hotel, yes we will be staying there again.

Very comfy nice and quiet. Great blackout blinds and comfy bed made for a nice lay in. Pub was really quaint nice old features. Breakfast was so good, staff so friendly and helpful. Great location in High Street. Would come back.

Told on arrival our room was upstairs; which it wasn't. After bringing everything back down we were told it was outside. Room was good and clean- perfect for 1 night. Great location for surroundings.

Fab little place. Clean and tidy. Just a little bit old in places but its charm makes up for that. The breakfast was great and every staff member was more than helpful. Would recommend for sure.

Excellent stay. The hotel team were friendly and welcoming. We were able to transfer our booked room to a downstairs room. That’s a big thank you. Breakfast was cooked to order and was perfect. Excellent location. The hotel, yes we will be staying there again.

Absolutely amazing hotel and staff were brilliant, thanks Emma and colleagues for getting room ready for us to change for a wedding. Breakfast excellent, will definitely come back.

Very old world so just what we like,unfortunately weather spoilt it for walking.good parking.but thought price for very small room a bit too much.and too many stairs for elderly folk!Breakfast was excellent!

Lovely room bathroom great bed was nice pillows of which spoilt our nights sleep probably came out of pound land and the only other thing was couldn't understand was why there was a coffee table for a drink station much to low! We had a drink in the bar opposite waited 10 minutes for the red headed bar staff member to come back from the court yard to serve without even saying sorry for your wait which i found exceptional rude. But on a good note the breakfast was lovely.

Fatastic hotel and our room and ensuite was lovely, my only issue was the mattress was rather noisy. Breakfast was lovely but please try either Linda McCartney or Cauldren veggie sausages as even meat eaters love them. If we're ever in the area again we'll definately stay at The Blue Boar. The staff were lovely too.

Lovely hotel. We stayed in studio it was spotlessly clean. Only slight thing was to change air conditioning settings you had to stand on arm of sofa, maintenence man came over and helped us though. Room was clean and the young person was so very helpful Breakfast was excellent and cooked perfect both mornings I commented to the young chef that cooked our breakfast on Wednesday morning. What a fantastic job he had made. Even the waitress listen to instructions about tea and toast and followed them to the letter The only thing I’d probably say that was missing was the attached pub/bar only did lunchtime meals and not evening

Staff were great, breakfast was very good. Easy parking. A very old building and theyve done their best to modernise it. I felt the access from the pub into the the hotel area was perhaps less secure than most hotels. On the whole a good experience at the Blue Boar.

Clean room, nice and old, in a good way! Bar opposite had a damp smell to it, but went to another pub which there is plenty in Maldon. Parking round the back free of charge.

Stayed here for one night and I must say the staff were excellent. We had a room at the top of the hotel and we did change as there was a lot of stairs to climb and my mobility isn't great. Went to reception and the lady at the desk was lovely and changed our room with no problem only one flight of stairs.. Our coffee maker wasn't working and soon got it changed. The room was a little bit small but was ok.The step up to the bathroom I had to be careful with. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and hot and yet again the staff were lovely. Will return again as I loved the decor and so convenient for the town.xx

Beautiful old place so full of character. It was quite busy when we arrived at 5pm on a Friday and had a lovely atmosphere. Really friendly, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Amazing room with great bathroom. Maldon has a great little high street with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. A nice walk down to the river.
