Citi Hotel Aberdeen City Centre

Place was an absolute dive. Bed was springy, no tv remote, room smelt like cigarettes as soon as I walked in, there was a skylight on the ceiling and a roller blind to cover it which was pointless as it sagged and let in light. Walls were paper thin and I could hear other guests running around the corridors and jumping around after 10pm. Bathroom was outdated and tiles cracked everywhere, shower curtain was minging and I’d definitely have caught something had I used the shower. Lift doesn’t work and the stairs are steep, avoid if you have any mobility issues. Had to use a chair to barricade the door as I felt unsafe in this place. Carpets in the hallways have never seen a hoover since the day they went in. WiFi — poor, doesn’t work. There’s a Travelodge across the road, do yourself a favour and stay there.

No internet ,guy came in from outside after i pho ed twice,had to run up and down from 3rd floor as he would not come upto room to see the problem with tv controler i could only get 1 tv station unless i paid for other channels ,i would not recommend this place for anyone,

The hotel is quite basic and the lift does not work. The other residents were a bit noisy but for £25 a night it was fine. Good shower and decent TV and a comfy bed.

Had a reservation for 2 nights, as soon as we walked into the hotel it smelt of cigarettes, within 5 mins of entering the room we were disgusted and left. The cups were used, there was one bed with a sheet on which had what seemed to be a urine stain on it, quilts had no covers on and were on the floor. Previous visitors bag of rubbish left in the room, bits of toilet paper on the floor. Lift didn’t work and stair carpet very loose. Hotel all round very out dated Put a complaint in and asked for a refund but was declined. Ended up booking in the Travel Lodge over the road. I would 100% recommend not to stay here.

We asked to be moved no ther room no towels no toilet roll had to ask all the time no tv didn’t work because of no internet

Not recommended. Smelly, poor maintenance, broken lift, poor wifi, delayed hot water in the basin tap and shower.

Don't book this spot on the weekend. Noisy till 4-5am. Lift was out of service. 1" of dust under the bed. Woke up and could barely breath. Cigarette burn all over the floors. I would never stay there again!

The room had a few things missing ,2 cups for a quadruple room,a fan as i couldnt open the windows much and a fan would have really helped .Also wifi didnt work .The man from reception went into our room while we were out ,lucky my daughter stayed behind as we had left phones a laptop and a purse with cash in gor our stsy

Avoid at all costs. Limited reception hours. No terrestrial TV and the lift was not working while I was there.

This hotel was the dirtiest I have ever seen and my room was the size of a cupboard with the hardest bed I have ever seen and a pillow made out of cardboard. I left within half an hour and had to pay for another hotel. I want a full refund,disgusting and should not be trading.

Clean room and clean toilet

Awful place We were on the 4th floor and the elevator wasn’t out of order. Room STANK of weed when we went in, the property is so old and tired. The carpets are filthy as were the stair handrails Honestly, I’ve never stayed in such a horrible place. I’ll be asking for my money

The hotel is very central. The room was clean, warm and cosy. The only problem was the window that wouldn't fully close and because of the location it was really loud at night.

Room did not look anything like what was advertised on booking website. The whole hotel is in poor condition & in need of repairs. Lift to upper floors out of order carpets on stairs filthy door to the room did not fit into the frame & lock was loose & flimsy. If someone fell against the door it would have opened. Did not feel comfortable or relaxed. There had been a smoker in the room as it stank of stale smoke & cigarette burns on the furniture. TV screen was sellotaped to the frame to hold in place. Shower room floor was sticky & toilet seat held by one hinge. Bed frame dirty & mattress springs poking into me. Upside towel & bedding clean! Price of room was cheap but it didn’t need to be nasty. Security of guests should be priority but not on this occasion.

Stinking of dampness ,no lift, stairwell are a mess ,no vacuuming, carpets where dirty,showers are disgusting definitely won't go back don't think it should be on Expedia, would have been better of camping

The hotel was absolutely terrible. The check in procedure was shocking, with a guy who looked and acted like he didnt like anyone. The rooms were vile, and dirty, with stains on the beds in 3 of the 4 rooms we booked. Bins, overflowing with rubbish on a really hot day, resulted in the whole hotel smelling absolutely disgusting. The doors to 2 of the rooms were loose, with the frames clearly having been forced open at some point, which makes you wonder what goes on there. Absolute hell hole of a hotel

The hotel is a nightmare. The maintenance doesn't exist. I had to buy towels, they were disgusting. The room carpet was old and it looked like it havent been vacuum for a feel days. I had to wait for 10 minutes at the reception.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the train station. The room we stayed in was a decent size and the bathroom was huge. The windows were huge, almost floor to ceiling which let in a lot of natural daylight. In the evenings and at night, you don't even need to switch on the lights in the bathroom, as it is lit up from all the street lights outside. The guy in reception was very friendly and helpful. When we checked out in the morning, we were able to leave our bags in a locked cupboard room until we were ready to leave. I believe the hotel has not been opened very long, maybe only a few months. However, it doesn't feel finished. The rooms could do with a deep clean. The carpet was stained, there was a lot of dust and there was staining on the ceiling from water damage / leaking. The curtains aren't attached properly and were coming off at the sides, but they were too high for me to reach to be able to fix them. Also, the room was very noisy from all the outside noise, people talking loudly and shouting, noise from the nightclub and gentleman's club right next to the hotel and the noise from cars constantly speeding up and down the cobbled streets at all hours is very annoying. All in all, for the amount we paid, it wasn't terrible but it also wasn't the best hotel we've stayed in. The rooms are very basic and no frills, but it is very conveniently and centrally located. The hotel is ideal for a short stay.

Battered old hotel but cheap. Fine for a solo trip when you just need somewhere to crash but no way I’d take the wife and kids

The staff were lovely and polite, put us in a room on the first floor as the lifts weren’t working and were available via text message when we needed them. The room was spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. It is near a busy street so there was a lot of noise from outside but I’m a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me. It’s definitely worth the price for a few nights in the city when travelling on a tight budget.

Helpfull staff, small twin room with small tv. Shower holder broken got to hold shower head in your hand. Lock on door very flimsy doesn't inspire confidence. Great location. Could be a really good hotel.

Very convenient location and cheap with a comfortable bed, only down side was the cleaner walking into my room without warning at 10am while I was sleeping when check out is 11am

Beware - this Hotel is terrible. The room I was given was not as advertised and in fact not fit for purpose. I was unable to stay and had to find another hotel at further expense. The Hotel has refused to refund me even though I did not stay and the product was not as advertised. Their advertising is false and misleading. I have wasted a lot of time trying to get a refund but Expedia have failed to assist me and continue to allow this hotel to falsely advertise on their platform. This is false and misleading conduct - beware!

My stay was okay, when I arrived at my room there wasn’t any towels I did request at reception for some towels, I was told someone would be at my room with some shortly but I never received any! I’ve stayed here before and they staff have always been very helpful not sure what happened this time!

No one on reception when arrived. A piece of paper saying phone this number. Luckily someone turned up (Adam). First problem was they don't take card payments and as I didn't have enough cash I had to go and find a bank.. Second problem, no security door to protect access to the rooms. 3rd problem which Adam helped with. Lift was out of order and I was to be on the 3rd floor, so he changed that and carried my case up for me. Hall carpets are filthy. Towels and bedding in the room looked and smelt clean but the mattress was horrendous, springs poking through everywhere... Didn't feel safe because of the no security door protecting anyone just walking through to where bedrooms were. Even though the bedroom door locked it wasn't the best so I pulled the clothes rail behind it and put a towel on the floor. I can't fault Adam he was helpful but I wouldn't return unless things change immensely.

This property is border line derelict. The reception was unattended, with a make-shift sign to call someone. When they came they were cold, and abruptly stated there was no food at the property - which was apparent by the derelict resturant - but odd to mention in such a way. My room was through a vast rabbit warren of semingly deserted corridoors - I struggled to find my way in and out. The bathroom was dirty with hair of the previous tenant, rust stains down the wall and a strange tap. There was a large blow fly in the room. The wall-lamp was hanging out of the wall and broken - electrical hazard. The paint was peeling from water damage. No latch or internal lock on the door. I did not feel safe in this property. At least the bed sheets appeared new and there was parking.

Don’t go of the rating. This hotel for 1 night is perfect clean bedding clean room amazing staff (Adam) yes Adam from Adam and Eve :) everything was fine highly recommend for a nights stay when you need to be safe clean and comfortable. The shower is like a jet engine taking off amazing!!!!!!

Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Check in was challenging as no bag drop off point & lift was out of order. But the nice friendly staff helped carry bags up the stairs & helped with any enquiries we had, but we're few.

Great wee central hotel, comfy and clean single room

Property a bit tired, and bedroom door difficult to unlock, but the receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, and it's just a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations.

No card machine, which was a pain. Quite loud with the neighbouring clubs. But very cheap, so I am not complaining - cleaner than my last stay at the Sandman!

Our room was literally on the doorstep of a nightclub. We left. When we left, the man at reception seemed very understanding of the situation, as if he knew it was coming?

As a lone female, arriving at thus property was intimidating. There is a Sports Bar on one corner, a strip club on the other and a nightclub (although nightclub was shut). It felt (to me) a bit shady/seedy. If you are looking for cheap and basic accomodation this is for you. Apparently it 'used to be' a Hostel, definitely seems to be...or a brothel !!

What an awful hotel! Checking in is a ridiculous process of having to phone an office in London to have someone come to the desk…rooms were very grubby, elevator was out of use and no small trek to the top floor with heavy suitcases. At night, nether my partner or I could sleep due to the windows being unable to close and nightclub music banging all night as well as the crowds gathered outside if it screaming and yelling. We paid for 3 nights but packed up and booked another hotel the very next morning..avoid!

The property does not match review at all. Rooms are slanted, outside of nightclubs, front door does not lock. Many people in the hotel who did not have rooms. Very dirty, elevator did not work. On a budget- we were only there at night, and it was very close to the train- would not do it again. Also no breakfast at all despite booking saying it had it.
