Very friendly staff, went out of their way to get us ice when machine was out. Comfortable bed and quiet area.

Bare bones lodging at a budget price. The only amenity is an ice machine, not working. Front desk polite and efficient. Only place I’ve been with no rules posted anywhere so dogs are probably allowed if they are quiet.

This is a very basic 1950s type motel. No pool, no spa, no wifi. Small rooms No tub just old shower. It was very clean and the A/C worked.

The Good: 1. Location: Very accessible via the 101 and close to Solvang. 2. Very quiet- Guest really stayed to themselves and they were not noisy. 3. Easy and accessible parking. 4. Easy check-in 5. Price. 6. Clean despite rooms being really old. 7. AC worked fine and so did the fridge. 8. Good hot water. The Bad: 1. The key to the room was an actual key. They need to invest in a system that locks/unlocks doors with a card. 2. Even though checkin was easy. Nothing seemed to be computerized. All paper I guess. 3. Door knob was broken. 4. Room needs a really big upgrade. The bathroom was very outdated. Clean, but outdated. Light lap was broken. Tub was pealing. Shower curtain had a tear. 6. Bedding was from the 80s. 7. The most important upgrade it needs is BLACKOUT CURTAINS!!! The curtains let in so much light it was hard to try to sleep in. 8. It really needs some common area for guests to relax and unwind with some wine. 9. Also no iron in the room or coffee maker. Would I stay here? By myself maybe. With my family, no way! Also not sure if they rent to people for long stays but there was this old dude that had door wide open and was in his boxers shirtless laying on his bed. Not the Motels fault but yo some common sense ettiquete.

This is a bare basics motel, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It comes with big parking spots, both a microwave and a fridge, and it's in a safe location. Check in was easy and the proprietor was friendly. I knew from the photos that this would be a mom-and-pop type establishment, and I was right. For me, this usually means uncomfortable beds and a sore back in the morning (right again). Freeway access was excellent and I liked how I was only a short distance from Solvang.

No coffee, no ice machine, no conditioner with the shampoo, no makeu8p mirror. Comfy beds, quiet, slept well.

The place was filthy. Walk on the floor and feet were black. Dust on the baseboards. Sink and tub nasty

As others have said, very clean simple accommodations. Dated but that’s not a concern as the bed was comfortable and shower hot. Would stay again, budget friendly and good service!

The hotel manager was courteous. The room was very depressing and smelled like smoke. The bathroom was clean. My pillows on the bed were extremely dirty and downright unsanitary. They had pillowcases but one pillow slipped out and I couldn't believe how filthy they were. They were stained with dirt and who knows what and had hair all over them. I thought about calling for new ones but then I thought why bother. If this is what they're putting on their beds I doubt new ones from the front desk would've been any better. I ended up wrapping them up in bathroom towels and put a jacket over them. I didn't sleep well at all and decided to sleep on top of the bed covers. No telling what the sheets would be like. If I could get a refund I would. I booked it based on the reviews but big mistake. They really need to upgrade all bedding, pillows and beds. This was a last-minute booking and I truly regret it.

The room was adequate, and the beds were comfortable, but there were some concerning things. For one the batteries were missing from the carbon monoxide detector with the battery door just hanging open. Also we wondered if the room hadn’t been occupied in awhile because the room and floor were dusty. The windows were open, probably to let the room air out, but also wonder if that's why the floor was so dirty. Also when I closed the bathroom window a dust cloud floated up. In general it looked basically clean, just very dusty. We wouldn't have even minded all this that much, it's an older motel and we got the room pretty inexpensive, but an experience with housekeeping the next morning was unnerving. My husband had left to run an errand while I showered and got ready. As I was dressing I heard the key turning in the door and thought it was my husband returning. Instead it was housekeeping...no knock, just opened the door right up. Fortunately I had just pulled my top on. If she had done that even 10 seconds earlier I would have been standing there in my bra. She said sorry and closed the door, but that experience made me uncomfortable. Perhaps providing 'do not disturb' signs and making sure they knock and wait would avoid this.

Just was so disappointed in how run down it was, barely able to shut my curtain, sinks were full of stains and some small bugs, was never bed had bed bugs and just not a good experience, would not recommend to anyone

Gotta say this was a great place to stay for price. Friendly staff easy check in . Room was very clean as thats the biggest thing for us. Beds are very comfy too. Now place and rooms are older and outdated but that does not mattter as it had everything we needed and again CLEAN. Now if you're looking for a luxurious option this is probably not for you. But if you're not needing a luxurious and expensive place this is it. We will Definitely stay here again.

Very clean and well maintained property

If there is no option then stay at this motel else look for better one. Very old place for the price over $100. We paid $170 for a old moldy motel definitely not worth it.

Room was clean and cozy. The room was nice size and th most affortable in the area. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. If im ever in the area will stay again.

not enough pillows,need coffee maker and iron

This is an older motor court. Rooms are fairly small. It's a bit tight in there with two beds. Shower only. Location was quiet. It's not backed right up to 101, so no trucks roaring by all night. Maintenance is good. Nothing broken or unduly worn. Plank floors, no carpet. (Which I prefer.) Staff was attentive at checkout, and was on the spot to take care of specific requests, but this is a low budget place, so don't expect doormen to be fawning over you. The price was excellent, much better than anything in the neighborhood.

very basic motelness. not bad but definitely nothing special. microwave and fridge are good. Wifi was inadequate as my son was constantly complaining (we were all the way down furthest from the office)

Room was clean and desk clerk was friendly. This hotel is just old and has not been updated in a very long time. No overhead light or lamps. There were three strip of lights glued to the wall, only two of them worked. Bath tub was peeling. Shower did not have a shower head, was just a hrs stream of water. The mattresses must have been a decade old. It was fine for a night, if we’d had to stay longer I would have changed hotels.

The ease of check-in was nice after a long drive. The room was clean, simple, no frills and exactly what was needed for a shower and some sleep. Very quiet until the neighbor enters their room, then you realize the walls are kind of thin. Fortunately, the noise didn't last long. Bathroom was clean. Being your own toiletries as a small shower bar and a sample pack of conditioning shampoo is all that is provided. I would stay here again if I'm needing an affordable spot. Enjoyable nights stay for a last minute trip. Thank you!!

Nice, comfy old-school motel. Super clean, very comfortable beds with crisp sheets. Awesome pillows. It's clear that the owners are continuing to make upgrades here and there. The only thing that did not go well was my inability to get some computer work done, as the Wi-Fi would not stay connected. I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that we were in one of the rooms toward the rear of the property (Room 23). Other than that, we were very pleased with out stay, and we look forward to staying here again.

Internet was good but no room coffee. A work truck left early about 4:30 AM. Manager is always nice. Heater is a bit confusing and outdated and could warm better.

No Front Desk Person - myself and another lady checking in waited and waited and called and checked the property- no one. She was there well over 30 minutes. I was there 15. We finally got worried someone had been hurt and were going to call the sheriff’s department when the woman got out of a car that whipped into the parking lot at high speed. She was rude and dismissive. She did not apologize for the wait or even acknowledge we had waited. When the woman in front of me politely brought up her frustration the lady said “there was a note”. That’s true. There was. It said someone would be back shortly- not in 40 minutes. It listed no return time. She told us (with significant attitude) that she was entitled to her dinner break. Again- true. But her awful attitude and management of this situation was incredibly off putting. Both myself and the other traveler had driven for hours to get here and honestly we both had to go to the bathroom. If a place is going to leave the front desk unattended for 40 minutes (I get there are labor shortages) then a note needs to list a return time. Also - leaving mid-evening (5:25-6:15) is a bad business decision. People are checking in. If a business is going to do this - post a notice to travelers when they make a reservation saying that they CAN NOT check in between certain hours and we’ll plan accordingly.

Great, budget-friendly place to stay to explore wine country or a good stopping point to rest during a roadtrip. Conveniently located walking distance to various shops and restaurants in the area. It is a great jumping point to explore wine country without breaking the budget. The decor is cute and retro, and the staff very friendly.

The room was what we expected based on the budget and location. Nothing special or exceptional, but generally clean and safe. It was a great budget-friendly option to visit Solvang, which was a quick 10-min drive away.

It was clean, quiet and easy. It’s a 2 star motel, but the price and location to Solvang was great.

Love that is was a very comfy place for an overnight stay. Very close to the casino and Solvagn. Definitely staying here again.
