Would have preferred a guarantee parking spots rather than going to over flow parking waiting for restaurant guest to leave to get a parking spot - this was the only draw back to the stay.

There was little to no sound proofing in the room and other guests were quite loud, we could hear full conversations late at night. We could also hear the sounds of the restaurant quite clearly below us. When the restaurant was busy, there was a sign for overflow parking nearby but there were no dedicated parking spots for people staying at the inn. We had to wait about 20 minutes until people from the restaurant left so we could have a parking spot close enough to load/unload our vehicle. Nice spot, very clean, overall enjoyed the stay

There is a very nice restaurant/pub on the main level with great food and service. We arrived for checkin as advised but the self checkin requires an access code that we had not been provided in advance. After a bit of creative research we tracked down the needed code. That should have been advised through Expedia. Otherwise all was good.

Very clean, nice size room and bathroom. Sturdy luggage rack and lots of shelves. Comfortable community room and deck. Lovely view of river. Very personable and helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent. Close to airport.

This is a cute and unusual little place, conveniently located for Halifax airport. The instructions for self check in are very easy, the room is private and there is a little common living room area overlooking the lake, where you can make coffee at any time. The restaurant downstairs seems to be a very popular spot for locals and I ate a very tasty vegan meal there. I stayed here for two separate one night stays and the first night (a Tuesday), the restaurant was closed, but my second night was a Friday and the noise in the room from the restaurant was quite loud. The noise from the road is also very loud, unless you keep the window closed. There is a very large amount of traffic flowing past here and at times it is very difficult to get in and out of the driveway, which was surprising. I stayed in the Lake William room, which does have a partial view of the lake. The room was clean, but the bed wasn’t super comfortable for me. Overall I would recommend here, especially if you are on a budget, as the price is decent.

Accommodations were thoughtfully laid out with a wonderful breakfast selection provided. Common area was comfortable and a great place to play games and socialize. Restaurant had amazing food. So good. Had an awesome experience. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful house and location was super close to the airport! Nice touch having the to go breakfast snacks in the room and waters. Had no issues whatsoever, comfy room, quiet, very very clean! Lots of parking.

We had a wonderful stay here! The breakfast-to-go package was so kind and thoughtful. The view was stunning. The food in the downstairs restaurant was great! It was awesome not to have a TV in the upstairs unit. They have games available which were fun. The futon bed wasn’t very comfortable for the kids and the floors were not clean but otherwise was a fantastic little place.

The Fletcher room was modern, beautifully decorated, and well thought out with access to a balcony and views of the lake. It was quiet even with a busy restaurant below. Check in super easy with an email you receive access to the outside door and the room. Breakfast-light continental set up in your room with coffee and tea available in a sitting room setup or on the balcony. The room just needs a small garbage can in the bathroom.

We stayed in the Thomas room. Very clean but quite noisy with traffic. It would have been nice to have a bigger spot to sit around. The people down stairs from us were very noisy around 1 am and we had someone knock on our door around 2 am. Our beds were comfy but very low to the floor. Easy check in with codes for the keypad. Nice takeaway snacks, if it wasn't for our noisy neighbors I would have given a better rating

No air conditioning! No ceiling fans. Cheap plastic fans inadequate for cooling the rooms, with broken controls. Holes in most of the window/door screens. Poorly hung interior doors stick badly. Furnished and finished cheaply in every way. The aesthetic of the decor is nice, if inexpensive, but The “breakfast” is insufficient to acquire the term “bed and breakfast”. Incomplete bedding for the futon. Unstaffed. Did not return phone call weeks in advance. Lack of AC should be stated somewhere in the listing or website, it’s a major drawback for summer visitors. It’s a cute and modest property. The lack of AC and the sticking doors were my major issue. If they’re not going to install AC units, then ceiling fans are a must. When we got to the suite at 5 pm the inside temp was 32'c, after 6 houra we managed to get the temp down to 27 with 2 crappy fans. We slept with all the window and doors open, which isnt ideal because its above a loud patio and busy road. Beautiful suite but without air conditioning, it was a terrible stay.

The room was clean and the price was okay. There were adequate linen supplies for both of our nights that we stayed there. The restaurant had great food! Very noisy and difficult entry and exit from parking area due to location on main thoroughfare. Also, noisy due to pub and dining facilities located right below the room balcony. This contributed to the limited parking when the restaurant/pub was open. We stayed in the Fletcher room and the bed was very soft and was situated right on the floor; difficult to get in and out of. This facility is advertised as a B & B; very poor quality of supplies for breakfast!

Everything about our stay was great except…. I could not get my email service so had no way to get into our room. Thats were the code for our room was and we didnt have access. We called twice with 2 different numbers and text and never heard back.

Our room was clean. We received instructions on how to access the facilities by email. We had no contact with staff. Breakfast consisted of an apple, muffin, granola bar and cookie and a bottle of water (left in our room). The room is located above a very popular restaurant and we could hear noise from below and room above.

The owner is very customer oriented and made us feel welcome. The food at the restaurant was some of the best we've had, especially the blackened haddock and the brisket burger. Kudos to the staff.

I lucked out in discovering The Fourth Lock BnB. The Fletcher Room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom, and sliding doors opening onto a deck overlooking scenic Thomas Lake. The shared lounge was stocked with coffee, tea, juice and yogurt, and there were snacks in the room as well. Good wifi. Very reasonably priced and a 10 minute drive to the airport. Lots of services close by like grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations. Jay is a great host, and very responsive if anything is needed.

Fablous accomodation. We had a lovely room overlooking the water. The room had everything you needed and the communal area was really nice. We also used the restaurant and the food was really good. All the staff we came in contact with were so friendly and really helpful. Especially when we went to check in as we has a small hidcup but was soon resolved by 2 of the staff quickly .. i would highly recommended this place to anyone.

All the staff we came in contact with were so friendly and really helpful. Especially when we went to check in as we has a small hidcup but was soon resolved by 2 of the staff quickly .. i would highly recommended this place to anyone.

We arrived to our room at 5pm. I messaged the owner to ask if there was a TV anywhere. I was told No and that i should have fully read the description to save myself money. My husband and i traveled 4hrs to get there to stay before our 6am flight. We wanted to relax and watch TV for the evening, but there was none. Not sure what else people do in the evening when its the middle of winter. The owner was very rude when i told them i would not be staying. Also the person upstairs was walking around with shoes and it was very loud.

I was so happy to get there and see the facilities were as good as any hotel and plenty of parking. It was very convenient for our trip to the airport. Very comfortable bed. Just wonderful!!!

It is very convenient that we were above a restaurant. This was our last stay before we flew home from our vacation on an early morning flight. It was close to the airport, so no real traffic to get caught up in.

This is a cute and unusual little place, conveniently located for Halifax airport. The instructions for self check in are very easy, the room is private and there is a little common living room area overlooking the lake, where you can make coffee at any time. The restaurant downstairs seems to be a very popular spot for locals and I ate a very tasty vegan meal there. I stayed here for two separate one night stays and the first night (a Tuesday), the restaurant was closed, but my second night was a Friday and the noise in the room from the restaurant was quite loud. The noise from the road is also very loud, unless you keep the window closed. There is a very large amount of traffic flowing past here and at times it is very difficult to get in and out of the driveway, which was surprising. I stayed in the Lake William room, which does have a partial view of the lake. The room was clean, but the bed wasn’t super comfortable for me. Overall I would recommend here, especially if you are on a budget, as the price is decent.

Lovely location across from the lake, with beautiful fall colours. Easy to find, with lots of parking. Entrance is on the parking lot level, above the restaurant. Cozy suite, with snacks provided as breakfast option. Communal sitting area and deck. Close to the airport.

Die Unterkunft liegt nur ca. 15 min Fahrzeit vom Flughafen Halifax entfernt und ist daher optimal für eine Übernachtung vor oder nach einem Flug. Obwohl sie direkt an einem Highway liegt (welcher auch zu hören ist), ist die Lage an einem See recht schön. Das Zimmer wie auch das Badezimmer waren geräumig und alles war sehr sauber. Im Haus befindet sich auch ein empfehlenswerter Pub (Öffnungszeiten beachten, ist nicht täglich geöffnet). Das Zimmer sollte besser abgedunkelt werden können. Für eine Unterkunft, die sich "Bed & Breakfast" nennt, war das Frühstück ziemlich dürftig.

The bed was very, very low to the floor, not quite like a mattress on a floor, but very close. Thia made it challenging aa heck to get in and out of bed. This was sold as a bed and breakfast and so our expectations were thar we woild have a reasonable breakfast. What we got was a small basket left in our room that had a muffin, an apple and several sugar-bssed snacks. This was not close enough to being a breakfast, in our opinion. The sounds from the room above us were easily heard in our room and woke us early at about 7 am, which was long before we wished to be awake. We would not stay again at this facility.

We really love the space. Very clean and the view was really nice. The bed is extremely comfortable. Didnt want to leave. We were a little disappointed we couldnt eat at the restaurant downstairs (open Wednesday-Sunday) as weve came there before and absolutely loved the food n beer. But maybe next time 🙂

The owner is very customer oriented and made us feel welcome. The food at the restaurant was some of the best we've had, especially the blackened haddock and the brisket burger. Kudos to the staff.

Very clean, nice size room and bathroom. Sturdy luggage rack and lots of shelves. Comfortable community room and deck. Lovely view of river. Very personable and helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent. Close to airport.

The room was clean and the price was okay. There were adequate linen supplies for both of our nights that we stayed there. The restaurant had great food! Very noisy and difficult entry and exit from parking area due to location on main thoroughfare. Also, noisy due to pub and dining facilities located right below the room balcony. This contributed to the limited parking when the restaurant/pub was open. We stayed in the Fletcher room and the bed was very soft and was situated right on the floor; difficult to get in and out of. This facility is advertised as a B & B; very poor quality of supplies for breakfast!

The room was lovely and clean. The bed was very, very low and soggy and the word breakfast. They shouldn’t use that because all they’re giving you is some treats in a basket and a bit of fruit. There’s nothing nourishing about it.

Accommodations were thoughtfully laid out with a wonderful breakfast selection provided. Common area was comfortable and a great place to play games and socialize. Restaurant had amazing food. So good. Had an awesome experience. Would highly recommend.

I chose Fourth lock due to the proximity to the airport. I arrived later in the evening, and had no issues checking in with the instructions provided via email. The provided breakfast was basic, but acceptable - muffin, cereal bar, apple.

Very easy self check in. The owner let us check in early which was fabulous. The place is very quaint and cute, great for couples. It has the bar underneath which we unfortunately were pressed for time this time but we will definitely be back again to give it a shot!

Breakfast could have been better (muffins, yogurt and fruits). Self-checkout with a code and no one around on days when the restaurant is closed, so it is not your typical B&B. Other than that, the room and bathroom were both huge and very clean! Very busy road: ok for sleep, not so much for relaxing on the balcony...

Breakfast was mediocre (every day it was the same, just muffins and prepackaged granola bars and yogurt and whatnot). The room was clean, if small, and the bathroom didn't have a bathtub. The view to the lake was great.
