Checked in Fri night when they had a wedding reception in their conference room...barely any parking for hotel customers. Shower drain was poor and did kill a roach or two. With that said, the bed was very comfortable. Price was right. I'd probably try another place if I came back to town, but would be willing to give it another try.

Very affordable prices. Still in rebuilding stages after hurricane damage. Nothing majorly wrong functionally, only some aesthetics -- some damaged paint here and there around the property, for example. Very pet friendly! Our aussie shepherd loved the room and the easy access to grassy areas for him to do his business. Would stay again.

The TV never worked, the pool wasn't easily accessible and wasn't clean. The bed was uncomfortable. I wasn't impressed but it met my needs for a cheap place to stay. The staff was helpful when I couldn't get hot water.

The TV won't shut off plus there was a party at the pool at about 1am which the pool was outside of our window other than that for the age of the hotel it was a good stay.

This place was bad!!!! Dont use this place. I was leaving the hotel and was pulled over by 3 cops. The tore apart my car had me in the back seat of the cruiser. They later let me go but i was infirmed that thaat hotel was known for prostitution and drugs. Dont go here horrible even the elevators scared my family they were rinky and felt like it was about to break with us in it

There was no vent in the bathroom so the mirror fogged up horribly. The microwave caught on fire. There was a roach in the bathroom and wasn’t cleaned up. I went to the pool and the gate was locked. A guy came out and said I could go to the other side and get in. There was a weird smell in the halls. There was a man asleep on the sidewalk across from the hotel, which is kind of scary. Overall I would not stay there again.

The property is old and rundown. The best thing about it is that it was clean. It had a chemical clean smell not like bleach but more like oven cleaner and comercial stainless cleaner that gave me a headache and Pledge. I placed a white shirt on the wooden counter and it soaked up whatever cleaner was used and left an oily stain in my shirt. The only ice machine was on level 4. The door looked like it had been kicked in and repaired several times and the ceiling was peeling. I never felt unsafe but it was sketchy at times. I was not the worst place I ever stayed but in the top 5. I saw a lady going from car to car in the parking lot on Friday. Not sure if she was scoping them out or if someone was in them and she was looking for something else. When i checked in on Friday i asked about late check out and the guy told me I could check out at noon. Check out is 11AM. On Sunday housekeeping was knocking at 10:58AM and then someone else at 11:16AM asking if i was leaving or staying. She said checkout was at 11 when I explained I was told I had till noon. She said no note was left but she said very harshly that noon was ok. I felt like it was an inconvenience so I left. I don't really know what they were voted Best of the Best 2023 for. The best thing I did was go next door and get info for that hotel for next time.

Well I've read the reviews on this wonderful historical hotel. I have to say some are tremendously petty. This hotel has a great potential. I do believe the management is trying very hard to bring this grand hotel back to life. This hotel has been through a lot since it was constructed. It looks a lot better than some of it's guest that continues to complain about petty blemishes. No you want get a free breakfast but you will get a great rate, a comfy bed,quite rooms coffee, microwave and refrigerator in your room. There is a pool. We didn't use it this trip. This hotel is pet friendly. I felt safe and we didn't experience any haunting. Amy is a very sweet and informative manager. Please before you leave a bad review, remember this hotel has been too hell and back and the new owner/manager rely on you as a consumer to help bring this grand hotel back to life 100% I would love to see the bar and restaurant up and running again. Along with the area before the pool wich would be a very cool place once it is done. My best regards to to Amy,and the management

We were very disappointed in the upkeep of the Hotel. The carpeted halls smelled wet and moldy. On the second floor, it smelled like a dog kennel. Then the room we were assigned to was at the very end of the hallway, and it was dark and scary. There was even a consistent barking dog. Then we were charged an extra $30 deposit, which I had never had to do before. The desk clerk informed that it was because of people smoking, staring at sheets, drinking, and smoking dope. The water fountain was rusted, and the carpet was dirty and smelly. Then, when we told the desk clerk we needed another room, we were charged another $20.00. I'm a handicapped person, and the desk clerk had no empathy or sympathy for my condition at all. Needless to say, we will not stay at this hotel again.

What a pleasant surprise. This hotel had good beds, well remodeled rooms, and it was squeaky clean! There was zero mold or odors. The sheets and towels were freshly washed. Every other budget hotel needs to take lessons from here. I will stay again. Even if it means driving an additional two hours. Thank you for a correct American hotel!

The hotel is far from what the pictures look like. More of a run down crack house. Room was filthy, walls dirty, sheets full of stains, and the building stunk.

Room was very clean, everything new, smells good, very quite hotel. They are in the process of renovating it, some parts are older, seems to be working on that as well. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Will stay again on my way back home.

The hot water would come out yellow. Literally. I don’t know if it was dirty or what but when I would turn on the hot water, the water would turn brownish yellowish. I thought it was disgusting. I also saw some roaches which is also disgusting. Staff was amazing. Hotel is dirty and old. I would not rent again nor recommend.

We booked the honeymoon suit because of the jacuzzi tub… When we first walked into the room (110/112) it smelt strongly of roach spray. One of the air conditioners didn’t work. We cleaned the tub first but after we filled it and turned the jets on this disgusting residue came out of the jets. We couldn’t even use it.

The first room i was given, on the 5th floor, already was occupied. The 2nd room tv didnt work. The 3rd room the tv didnt work. The 4th room which i stayed in, the toilet was broken and ran all night. I was too exhausted to go back down for a 5th room assignment.

The rooms were bare, the carpet was dirty and very old and worn. They stated that it was two queen- sized beds- IT IS NOT. There are two double beds which makes a big difference when two grown adults are sharing a bed. I will definitely pick a different hotel next time.

The television wasn't working. The microwave was messed up inside , the wallpart was undone and hanging down.If I would 've used it , it would've blown up. I had to eat my food cold. The bathroom door was stuck opened, barely could close it. Towels in bathroom gave me a red rash on lower neck area. When you fush the toilet it comes up high , like its stopped up.

The front desk was not very friendly. The non-smoking floor smelled like extra activities. There was loud music playing majority of the night. It just wasn't a very pleasant stay.
The front desk was not very friendly. The non-smoking floor smelled like extra activities. There was loud music playing majority of the night. It just wasn't a very pleasant stay.

The front desk clerk Amy was super helpful and super awesome. I mean she was attentive and really nice. I have no complaints about service or otherwise. When I’m in the Beaumont,Tx area I will definitely stay here.

The staff was great! The hotel was very clean and had clearly had some recent updates/maintenance. My room was very quiet as well. There were some aspects, like some painting, that could have used maintenance. And I couldn't figure out how to get hot water in the shower (but I didn't bother asking). I would definitely stay here again!

Amy checked me in and was very friendly and talkative which I appreciated. Sheri, the manager, was THE REASON I booked in the first place. She’s friendly as well and we had pleasant conversation each time I saw her. I did have one other interaction with a male clerk but I didn’t get his name. He was friendly as well. The room was great!! Bed was clean, towels were clean, everything worked. I did have trouble with my room key but Amy was super quick to offer assistance with that and it worked after that. If you choose not to book here because of the ‘bad’ reviews, I can tell you from my experience they’re nit picking. — The property is under renovation, but the parts of the property that’s open to guests is top tier and the Reno Team is doing a great job. I saw some reviews saying that there’s sketchy people/things outside and I wanted to address that in my review because I walked the entire parking lot for four days in a row and never felt unsafe. Even the individuals (not guests) coming to get coffee from the lobby and leaving were friendly and not ‘sketchy’ at all.

First thing anyone looking to book a room here is that the photos are unbelievably misleading. They took pics of the only descent area of the hotel which leads you to believe it's comparable to the Cotton Exchange in New Orleans or something similar. Don't let it fool you it's a dump and people are sitting around in the halls as if it were a hostel. Second it states it is pet friendly. The arrogant little guy running the place tried to argue with us that our service dog could not stay. When I tried to explain it was against the law for him to do so, he ignorantly started telling me he knows the rules in his hotel. Well buddy, you should really learn the difference in hotel rules and disability laws😉 You should call your local ADA office and once your done educating yourself on that you should really turn your attention to the roach problem. To be fair the bed was comfortable and the room was big. It was fully furnished and had everything we needed. The only other issue we had is they were excessively knocking on the door to make sure we knew when checkout was. Overall opinion... if your a single guy looking for something and nothing else is available, it's ok for last resort booking. If your a nice couple with children sleep suck it up and drive until you find something else available. Don't bring your children here.

The check-in process went well. The room was dirty so I called the front desk to be hung up on. After 4 attempts to speak to the front desk I realized my toilet wouldnt flush and my tv wouldnt turn on. I tried calling from my cell phone to see if maybe it was the rooms phone having issues, but it was indeed the woman at the front desk having a serious attitude. She yelled at me and argued my request for a new room. We waited till the next shift to arrive to handle our issue to avoid further confrentation. The man who followed up was pleasent and very helpful.

There were homeless camp set up out in the parking lot and they were drug users. There were window broken out of the stair well with guys hanging out of them. Broken down and abandoned vehicles in the parking lot. We NEVER made it to the room. The wife did not even to go in the door. Resection, on the other hand, was very nice. The front area was clean. Just acessing the room was not good.

Front desk attendant was rude when asked if they offered a contractor rate. Room was dated and janky. There was a horrible smell in the hallways- enough to put you off your meals. Bed was springy and hard. Towels looked dirty and were different shades of off white. I heard sex noises numerous times during my stay, leading me to wonder if there is a prostitution issue. Hotel is way too expensive for all the issues I’ve stated. Manager also seems to be incredibly hostile in their replies to guests who leave a review stating their issues. That should be the first deterrent from staying at this hotel.

Chose the hotel because it had such a high rating. Check in was easy but there were some sketchy characters outside. There was someone already in the room they gave us who was supposed to have checked but but hadn’t and now was refusing to leave. Not including that one was a lady of the night. 😤 They tried to move us to another room but husband wasn’t having it.

I like about the property was having hot water a having a grocery store next to the hotel. What I didn't like was the area of the hotel were there are a lot of bums or prostitutes around. The hotel was okay overall but it seems to be out dated and a lil spooky.

I think the rating of this property may have been skewed. It is a decent place with good staff, however the area surrounding is quite rough. I unfortunately was unable to stay for the night I paid for, I was a bit intimidated and felt less than safe. My car is new and I felt it stood out as a target for a break in. I left within minutes of checking in for my peace of mind. It's unfortunate that a once Grand Hotel is located in a less than desirable location. Not trying to be rude or disrespectful, however it is my opinion, that a 62 year single white male does not safely fit into this environment. Afterwards I looked at the reviews, trying to figure out why a 7 hotel was rated such. I saw as many 10's as I did 3"s, seemed the 10's may be disingenuous.

I like the location, being close to the freeway and next door to a supermarket. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Didn’t like the condition of the property, the sink had a crack on it, and the fan in the bathroom was loud. Outdated everything at least thirty years old.

Well I've read the reviews on this wonderful historical hotel. I have to say some are tremendously petty. This hotel has a great potential. I do believe the management is trying very hard to bring this grand hotel back to life. This hotel has been through a lot since it was constructed. It looks a lot better than some of it's guest that continues to complain about petty blemishes. No you want get a free breakfast but you will get a great rate, a comfy bed,quite rooms coffee, microwave and refrigerator in your room. There is a pool. We didn't use it this trip. This hotel is pet friendly. I felt safe and we didn't experience any haunting. Amy is a very sweet and informative manager. Please before you leave a bad review, remember this hotel has been too hell and back and the new owner/manager rely on you as a consumer to help bring this grand hotel back to life 100% I would love to see the bar and restaurant up and running again. Along with the area before the pool wich would be a very cool place once it is done. My best regards to to Amy,and the management

The whole place is ran down. The WORST part was that there was no hot water. I paid for a jacuzzi suite and couldn't even use it. I had to take a cold shower before going to work. I talked with the GM on sight and she brushed me off like it was no big deal. I want a refund.

I’m from Dallas Texas and I was visiting ALONE so I could be there for my daughters Master Graduation and I had made reservations at this hotel upon arrival and ohhh so tired and sleepy from a long drive when I went to check in the attendant stated that they could not take my temporary DL paper permit that they give you upon renewal and you have to carry it until the DL card arrives well the attendant did not help me at all and cared less about an elderly woman being outside with no where to go but as a son father person did he try to help me kept saying the policy he didn’t try to go that extra mile for great customer service but I’m sure he will be in this situation and I hope and pray he is treated worser than he treated a paying elderly mother in need never again Beaumont spook town old drug infested area and hotel next time I will do better in my research but God took care of me and I did find somewhere safe to lay my head and prepare for an awesome day because one monkey don’t stop no show and when one door closes God will open the right door and he did and I made it back safe and sound to my hometown Dallas Show some love Texas !!!! And sir you know who you are ✌
