Stayed 2 nights

There was no WiFi or cellphone service in my room. The TV had no cable and was only internet based so there was no tv either. I had to go to the office and use the WiFi to download movies on my phone to watch. They said they had breakfast but all they did was brew a pot of coffee at 8:30. I saw two couples were overbooked when I got there and they had nowhere to go and weren’t given assistance with finding another place. One of the rooms had a bathroom overflow and the walkway had standing sewage for 2 days that everyone had to walk through to get to the other rooms. There’s no one on site to talk to at check in, and it’s hit or miss if they will answer the phone number provided. It’s a very loud property as well. You can hear everything. People come and go up to 2 in the morning. The room doors have a 1/2 inch gap under them so you hear everything. There’s no extra locks on the doors and you feel like someone can walk in at any time. Very overpriced for an underwhelming hostel.

Aura House was a pleasant stay overall. The room was clean with simple yet modern decorations. The guest house is recently renovated with a simple but charming exterior. I enjoyed spending time on the roof in the lounge chairs provided. It was a quick walk to the beach, local coffee, and cuisine. It was a great deal for the location in the beautiful Isla Verde. Some guests had difficulties with checking in as there was no front desk—only a lobby area. Passcodes were used and some had not received confirmations. WiFi was very slow in the bedroom, so I had to use the lobby/lounge which was cozy and provided water as well as an assortment of teas. Overall it was a very pleasant and met my needs as an individual traveler looking for some self care. Thank you!

Clean, spacious, comfortable beds! Great having 2 tvs so the kids had space to decompress after a fun trip. We were only there one night but it was good. Shower doesn’t get real warm, toilet seat is loose, toilet flushed button is half broken, none of the windows have glass, some of the windows didn’t even have screens. Construction happened at 7:30am outside our “window”, they were throwing roof tiles into a pile, which broke as it hit the ground. I got woken up in the night by street racers, again, windows would have helped reduce noise. Mold on the ceiling in the closet and bathroom, only AC in the bedrooms so the rest of the house stays humid. Front gate has to be yanked to open. Kitchen has very basic things. No salt or oil. Only a few bowls or spoons. Not enough for the 5 people that stayed. Overall, I’d stay again but for $158 I’d expect a lot more. Beds were so comfy, foam and soft which is good for my back. Very safe and secure though! Street parking is sparse but they’re up front about that. Martin’s BBQ a block away was so delicious!

I am disappointed with you for not refunding my money. We couldn’t get into the rooms because the steel gates were locked. We stood outside in the dark for an hour arguing with the Pelican clerk who refused to help us. Your advertisement of the property is false. The property is a dump.
