TRU by Hilton Terrell

The night shift staff was less than helpful. I needed to park with a trailer and they advised me to park on the street. There was no parking on the street. I advised that that would not go over well with the police department and they decided I could park in the fire lane. Well that is an even worse idea. I finally made something work and fortunately they didn’t go outside to see what I did.😬 The morning shift crew was fine and in line with what I expected.

Property was great. Only issue was the elevators were out but they had company there working until midnight trying to get them fixed.

Quick and friendly check in. Great market and game room. Large clean king room. Will stay again and recommend.

The elevator was out and they only had 4th floor rooms available which we were ok with walking up and down; however, we did not need to be with luggage. Those that checked in after us definitely didn’t need to be walking the stairs and we helped them. Our room was great and clean. I would stay again just need the elevator fixed and stay fixed.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was dang near free because I used reward nights. The only thing I would complain about is their parking lot; it’s a little small.

We stayed here to avoid damaging hurricane strength winds and hail predicted for our area. The room was adequately appointed, very quiet and clean. The toilet was acting up requiring two flushes to get it to work occasionally. Shower was good pressure and I liked all the supplied wall-mounted soaps and such. Bed was firm but not overly firm, and I did not feel the other person move around. Only drawback was the $75 non-refundable pet deposit that I didn’t know about since I booked through hotels.com. That is really steep for one night stay! I will have to look at other options in the future.

The facility/room was extremely clean and smelt clean. The Lobby has a pool table and plenty of places to hang out. The gym was decent as well.

No parking. Had to Park on street. Thin walls. Other guests extremely load at 3a. Never stay again.

The gentlemen at the check-in desk were super friendly. The room was just as described and everything was clean. We enjoyed our weekend trip. Even the pool and outdoor area was nice.

Great new and modern hotel that isn’t too expensive. I wish they had some shade in the pool area. Staff is super friendly.

Their where dirty towel in bathroom when I walked in the room. I booked and paid thru Expedia and the front desk still tried to charge me 132,00 when I checked in

We had a great stay! Our room was clean and comfortable, the property was very well maintained, we had absolutely no complaints at all. But the thing that really stood out to me was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Every single person I encountered at Tru by Hilton in Terrell was smiling and made an effort to speak or carry on a conversation. Half way through our stay I received a text from one of the staff asking how everything was going and if we needed anything. They genuinely seemed concerned that all of our needs were met. I don't know if all Tru locations are this customer friendly but I can't recommend the Terrell location enough. They're fantastic!

Overall, the hotel lobby and room were clean and neat. However, the hall on the 3rd floor, where our room was located, was very dirty. It appeared not to have been vacuumed for days. It was covered in dirt, mud, clumps of white thread. Breakfast was good. We could not use our computers in the room because the wi-fi signal was so weak. We had to go downstairs and sit in the lobby to receive a decent signal. Next time, we will try another hotel.

Room smelled like a dog. Would have changed or left but arrived after 1am and was too exhausted to do anything about it and change rooms.

They didn't do a thorough job cleaning the room. The bathroom door, right above the door knob was some nasty brown smear on it. Day 2 for breakfast we got down there about 6:45 and they were out of pancake mix, regular coffee, and milk. We sat around for 20 mins and ate other things, no one was attending to the food. When we got up to leave, finally, he pancake mix was available.

Great night stay and friendly staff. Great breakfast and coffee! Only complaint maybe was hallway could have been vacuumed but everything else was nice! Would stay again at TRU hotel

The room was very small. There was only one chair and it was a desk chair at that. No closet, no drawers for storage. Our first and last stay at Tru by Hilton

It was a nice stay, however the walls are not insulated at all I don’t think. I could hear the conversion from the next room and they werent even talking loud. And the TV. And no microwave.

Room was very very basic with wobbly cheap furniture. Ok (just) for an overnight stay but unsuitable for any longer stay. Think cheap IKEA-like furniture that wasn't well assembled and you will have a good idea of what it is like. There is inadequate insulation in the walls between rooms so you can hear everything which is amplified by the hard surface flooring. I like the concept of the glue down laminate floor but noise it amplifies should have been planned for when the place was built. The hotel provides cleaning every other day according to room signage but we saw no evidence of that. Cigarette ashes in the hallway remained unattended to for the duration of our stay but guests learned to walk around them. The over use of friendly written words on every surface becomes tiresome very quickly. The vinyl lettering on doors, windows, elevators each promising some sort of awesome fun experience mostly just reinforced the reality that the hotel did not deliver on these written promises. The squeeze bottles of soap and shampoo mounted to the walls were interesting especially with their touted promise of "soap saves lives". Gee mom really? They were trying for cost savings (for them) and likely succeeded in padding their bottom line. Guest experience with cheap noisy rooms, rude staff, and unclean common spaces were the reality for the guests.

No complaints. Hotel was clean. Good location. The wifi system didn’t let us get onto it so they should probably look into that, otherwise it was a good stay.

TV won’t show the local channels and the shower floor seemed unstable. There was a replacement plate around the drain that was not secure.

Lack of internet all evening/night was problematic. No coffeemaker in the room! Breakfast was disappointing— looked good upon scan but the oatmeal was a super watery rendition of the instant oatmeal packets to which too much water was added; sausage undercooked, coffee was barely lukewarm.

Room 411 needs to have a/c unit checked extremely loud. Also refrigerator noisy as well.

The staff was very accommodating; fantastic people! The facilities were nice and the breakfast good. Overall a pleasant experience.

Every hotel needs someone like Cedric! He made us feel so welcome and we really enjoyed getting to speak with him. He definitely made our stay.

Clerk that checked us in was very attentive and professional, very smooth check in!

Room was fine. Front desk clerk was a bit apathetic, not exactly rude, but not welcoming either.

I was traveling alone and have stayed at this Tru several times. It is next to Buccees, convenient access to I-20, and I always feel very safe here.

Situated right next to Buc-ee's, which is convenient. Pillows were a little flat and wish the shower was hotter. Just small issues though. Would def. stay there again.

Decent hotel. Breakfast was typical and fine. They were already out off dark roast at 7:30 😱. My biggest complaint is the marketing and copywriting and logo design were all pretty terrible - from the front door decals to signs in the elevators. They need a new marketing agency!

Friendly staff. Bed was too firm and gave my husband and I a backache. Nice walk-in shower with shampoo and shower gel provided in bottles on the wall. Breakfast was okay with eggs, sausage, and pancakes. Rooms are small. Pool area is nice with sectional patio sofa. Close to shopping and fast food, and next door to Buckees. Overall decent stay.

Everything was wonderful except the breakfast. It’s cheap cuz it’s free. But really it’s cheap and needs to just go away it’s that bad. Chicken sausage were hockey pucks, the juices were just colored sugar water, the watery scrambled eggs made me lose my appetite. Just do a great quality healthy euro style breakfast since you can’t do an American one well at all.

Stopped here for my wife’s birthday, been here a couple of times and always great. Air conditioning, beds, rooms, tv and breakfast are always great.

The pancake machine was broken and you were out of waffle mix. The breakfast was very disappointing and this is one of the reasons we chose this hotel.
